  2. Lots of fun with my DMR at Invicta Battlefield yesterday. I really enjoy actually targeting other players and taking them out on a "case by case" basis, rather than just spraying in to the general position of some movement. However as a PSA: if you feel you are being overshot/killed, the best thing you can do is call "hit!" nice and loudly, throw your hand in the air and keep it there as you quickly move back to your respawn. Guess what happens if I'm looking at you through my scope and all I can see is someone milling about or shouting....

    New players

Hi everyone me and my son are new to airsoft but we've been going to our local airsoft store and using their shooting range for the last few months and absolutely love it! We've been slowly gearing up towards our first airsoft game which we're hoping to go to soon. However, I am having trouble finding suitable face protection for my 14 year old lad. Does any companies make small sizes of full face or even half face masks? Anyway, it's a pleasure to be here and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone here uses in their games.

  5. Great day at UCAP VENDETTA running the TM MWS and SADF chest rig. Quite a few new-to-site players but the sides were evenly matched and every game a good match. Got some good kills in and ended up with only a few bruises. Was fun to show some n00bs around and lock down the hospital or clear out C wing.

  6. Just Chiming in regarding trades that do not involve a face-to-face I'll preface this with indeed your mileage still may vary, and its up to you to seal the deal and go with your gut instinct. I've done about 4 Trades over the post now of relatively high value RIF's All of them have been trouble free And following these steps has helped me, if these Criteria weren't met then it was Generally a Red Flag. 1. They have a decent seller history/activity on AFUK or another long standing Airsoft Selling Platform 2. They agree to send you a picture of their Photo ID (Drivers License) with a timestamp (a note with the date and name written on it next to the ID) allthewhile, reciprocating with yours, Bonus for UKARA. (if you REALLY wanna be thorough, a picture of their ID, next to a Recent Utility Bill AND timestamp) 3. Then, checking postage address of the trade (including yours) directly matches the address of the ID 4.(Optional) one of the parties offers a collateral payment (the value of the traded item) which can be claimed if it goes pear shaped You handle postage for your way. additionally, as another user mentioned, proof of postage isn't really of any substance, but opening the parcel as soon as its been delivered on video will be. (also get the trader to send images of the item as they pack it as a reference image) Yes it may come off as a bit thorough, but the trouble of losing an entire RIF with nothing to show for it far outweighs any effort in the preliminary. And LASTLY Again, if the person you are trading with is apprehensive to send ANY of these details, then just dont trade.

  12. Yea it’s quite shocking the way loosing an important person and then a catastrophic business damaging even occurring can effect something so badly . I used to travel from Swansea to play there I liked the vibe of the site that much , but when it started back up after lockdown the moment you arrived you could see the old ‘airsoft family’ site was gone and it was just another soulless ‘get em in , get their money and get em out’ airsoft business . Classic example of nothing lasts forever I suppose .

  14. I’ve far too much to carry around, but I’ve carried many combinations I began carrying main and pistol, on a thigh holster But on the ‘just in case’ basis it was just extra weight If my main broke then I would be better off going out and fixing it However sometimes I would choose to go to pistol for a moment of fun On one stalemate line across a dry river bed I was observed to strip off my gear, taking off my vest, put down my main and walked off People wondered what I was up to and ignored me as no threat …… until some demented idiot came running back through the opposition line firing off single pistol shots after having crossed over in the distance There was the time at a rental game that I went out with just pistol, but failed to change 12 gram after being too busy chatting. Discovering that I was useless I did the sacrificial distraction running to the fort, but nobody shot me So I arrive at the fort, leant over waving an empty pistol and asked if anyone fancied surrendering - capturing the front half of a fort without firing a shot In defending a fort, the first time I was to use a pistol in game, I was sat in the corner of a tower covering the back door As the marshals began the final countdown to game end I emptied my main and couldn’t be bothered to reload ….. I then noticed a head pop around the door as they saw me put my gun down …. And in the 5,4,3… count suddenly three players run in the door …… so I grab the pistol sat beside me and pop pop pop, three guys are stopped in their footsteps

  18. Be aware the head marshal for both Black ops sites Dave passed away at the end of lockdown in ‘20 and when it reopened there’d been a big change in management who unfortunately are 100% fixated on recouping as much lost revenue as possible(can’t blame them it’s a business after all)due to Covid , BUT since everything started back up at the Cribbs site it’s been run with little if any consideration to play satisfaction on game days(unlike Dave who’s mission was for everyone to have the best possible gameday they could)as they’ve been running multiple events on the site at the same time . Previously on a normal Sunday walk-on it was just Airsofting on site , but now at the same time they’re running paintball , archery , quad biking , kids Airsofting parties and even clay pigeon shooting ALL on the same day on the same site ! So where as previously you could roam the whole site to play now at most you get 2/3rds of the site but mostly it’s less than half the site and frequently only a 3rd as sections of the site are ‘out of bounds’ due to these other activities going on at the same time . But they still charge full price for the game day of course ! Full disclosure I actually was banned from the site last summer for complaining about this very situation to the site owners wife (he refused to speak to me about it) but obviously as it was my home site for near 8yrs I made a lot of good friends there I’ve kept in contact with and they’ve all said nothings changed and several have left the site for this reason . So just FYI you could be sorely disappointed at Black ops Bristol .

    AI500 2022

I'm afraid, irrespective of the venue, AI are VERY revenue driven (prob due to falling mag sales),as players most of the AI team have had a deserved dubious reputation, which I've witnessed for myself on a few occasions. leopard changing its spots/old dog new tricks/blah blah blah, it's all relevant, & while I'll never book up for any of their games, as players they've been around long enough & have visited enough top quality sites that you'd would hope they'd make an effort to ensure these expensive events are memorable for the right reasons, put in to practice the aspects from the proven best U.K. sites , but alas their still just trading on their name, & not a good name at that. I think their days are numbered if they don't do something to inspire customer confidence in themselves as a "brand" ?

  21. Had a weird one at Worthing on Sunday. I only played in the morning and had a huuuuge amount of success in the first two games with the VSR, burning through about 80 BBs and getting around 30+ kills in sheer area denial. However, I stopped playing at lunch due to two reasons. Firstly, the first two games were deceptively successful, because I went to two locations that are always good for sniping all year round; Spring is definitely here and Worthing is really starting to bush up again, which makes a 30m MED a pain to deal with, which I found out in the 3rd game. I didn't fire the VSR once and only got half a dozen kills with the p226 which I haven't used in a long time (but they were some nice shots and I forgot how well my p226 build works!). Large portions of the site are just becoming unusable for snipers and DMRs at Worthing and it's only going to get worse with time, so it may be time to hang up the VSR for 6 months or so. So why not switch to the other gun I brought? Why not use the m21? That's the second reason. I've been toying around with different hop rubbers and I've come to terms with the fact that while the silicone Maple Leaf VSR rubbers are absolutely god-tier amazing, the silicone AEG rubbers are absolutely trash. My m21 was shooting all over the place in the morning and just wasn't usable. Going to stick the old 60 degree macaron back in there as that was working well, but all the silicone rubbers I tried were absolutely craptastic. So yeah, moving forward, HPA VSR is going away for a few months. m21 and spring VSR are coming out in its stead as my "snipers" as they're both 1.1J, but I'll also be looking to use my AKM more often, as long as I can borrow my friend's mags when he's not using his

    THE TM MWS thread

Jeez i dont know if you being antagonistic, im tyring to help and educate, there was no caveat, i had outlined in the paragraph prior: THIS CLEARLY HASNT HAPPENED - your bolt has not moved back for whatever reason, so the nozzle has been blown up - magazines are not made of nozzle plastic becasue they are not intended to store the full pressure of the gas, just transport it. You didnt get that so i spelled it out: The standard parts handle it fine - when everything works properly 🙈 There are many scenarios for a mag to gas dump and how the other gun internals are located at the time dictates the level of damage, from zero-to-proper fecked. By the by - If your gun is standard and functioning properly the stock nozzle is perfectly fine, just like 10,000s of other MWS users around the world. 👍

If the charging handle causes the BCG to bind what i described above will happen. The nozzle looks to have sheared around the larger diameter portion of the nozzle (behind the rocket valve) Regardless trying to hypothesize something that happened in a nano second is a waste of time really. Put the gun COMPLETELY back to stock, fit a complete new TM or GM nozzle. Check everything moves and functions independently as it should. Half fill a mag with weak sauce gas and test it.
    1 point
  36. Mags push up against the BCG, the BCG in turn pushes the charging handle up into the recevier. Ive said it time and time again, if you have any problem revert to stock and start again. You cant upgrade something if it doesnt work in standard form.

    Action Hobbies

On monday I ordered a 2 tone Mk23 from Action Hobbies, and was on their website this morning checking if it had been dispatched when I saw that they accept BASC membership as a defense. Got on the phone straight away, and the very helpful guy on the phone (the owner? Paul?) was happy to put the Mk23 - which had already been painted and was ready for dispatch - back into his stock room and switch my order to an RIF version. Obviously I've not received it yet as this has put the order back, but I'm very pleased with the level of customer service so far.

  41. Heh, this takes me back to my historic reenactment stitch-counting days. That appears to be from Diodorus Siculus, a 1st century BC Greek historian writing, or rather anthologist. One of his citations was Ctesias of Cnidus, of the monopodal claims above, so that's the level of veracity we can expect. The citations I can find for that refer to Gauls, rather than Britons. All Celts though, right? This purports to be a Roman Republic coin depicting a Celt. How do we know it's a Celt? Well, it looks like a Celt. How do we know what Celts looked like? Here's a coin that looks like one (and around we go). Likewise, this is cited as a Roman copy of a Greek statue and has been dubbed "The Dying Gaul", by much the same circular reasoning. This is more interesting, it's apparently a British Iceni coin, cited as "Bury F". That's the only context I can find for it. You can read into it what you like, and those who want to wear crusty dreads doubtless will. You can find similar looking images on other coins here, which do seem superficially compelling, until you look at the other side and often see horses with their manes depicted in the same fashion. It would be curious to take such pride in an animal that you'd depict it on your coinage, but with its mane all skanky and tangled. People are going to see what they want to see though. The "hair like snakes" quote is widely attributed to Julius Caesar, but when challenged, nobody seem able to cite a source. It doesn't appear in this English translation of The Gallic Wars. The closest is this passage:

Bought as project gun - I've had my fun with it but no longer need it. Please read the entire description. Classic Army G36K - Structurally sound with all external parts in place and in good condition. The gun has the usual small scuffs and scratches from previous use. Fitted with the following: - Lonex Hop Unit - Lonex 50deg Hop Rubber - JG/Golden Eagle Franken-Gearbox, fitted as it was cheaper than buying Classic Army OEM parts for a knackered stock gearbox. See more info below - Cyma Neo Hi Torque motor (which is slow as molasses and was only a place-holder but I never got round to replacing it.) - Wired to deans The Franken-Gearbox: - JG/Golden Eagle based QD Spring gearbox, with the shell, trigger, and all G36-specific parts required to fit in the gun body - ZCI Upgraded QD Spring Guide - SHS/Rocket 13:1 Gears - *I think* Gearparts POM Piston head and Lightweight Piston - I had a few projects on the go at the same time so can't remember the exact make. - Pretty sure I switched-out the bushings as well. Also Comes with: - 1x HiCap magazine - A bunch of Classic Army and JG spares - CA GB shell, JG gears, CA motor and G36-specific gearbox shell parts (selector, body mounting brackets etc) Issues: - The gun cycles OK - but is really slow with the Cyma motor (around 10bps on 7.4v LiPo @340FPS when last chrono'd) - It needs the shimming checked as it sounds a bit laboured - A couple of handguard rails are included, but the screw heads were rounded-out by the previous owner and will need replacing. - It could do with a new magwell pin - it's a threaded 2-piece design and the threading isn't in the best shape. It works, with a good tight fit but I would try to fit a JG one-piece through-pin instead. Just my OCD. - It generally need to be tuned and checked over to get the best out of the fitted parts. This is a boneyard gun - Caveat Emptor applies as there may be other issues that I'm not aware of. This sale is for someone who wants a gun to tinker with. Usual sales rules apply - Over 18 - UKARA/Defence required yadda yadda yadda... No dibs/holding. Paypal only. Price includes PF48 postage and PayPal fees. Collection is available from Christchurch, Dorset for a tenner less.
