  1. So this is my current loadout. Not going for any particular look, just what I've learned over the years is what I'm most comfortable playing in. I have a chest rig with m4 mag pouches, a battle belt with pistol mag pouches and some more m4 pouches. A dump pouch and a safariland for my TM Glock18. Main pew is an MWS, though I've accessorised it a bit more since this photo

  2. Krylon brown is dark indeed, I've used a fair bit, generally as a base so it's fairly covered over. Coyote is the way to go that is a fact but, yeah.. I've got various other plans in mind already and a huge array lot of options to weigh up, my mind isn't set on the AR by any means, I love them but I've got plenty of those. Currently got other projects to finish that have been ongoing for years on account of a lot of trying to make RS parts fit to RIFs that often haven't been done before and a similar story with battery storage - always requires a lot of skilled airsoft specific mill and lathe work etc and my man I trust for that has a long wait list. I don't know if you mean weather as in artificially but I never do that myself, I degrease, spray then just use (nothing against people doing the artificial route). If the gun in question ever sees enough games over many years such that the paint job starts to be missing in large areas I'll literally just spend 10-15 minutes to whack a bit more on.

  3. Working on some ICS Galil midcap inserts. While I use drums in my Galil ARM, I do like to have a trio or so of midcaps alongside my drums in case they go down. Nothing exists for the ICS Galil besides some expensive high caps, and you all know how much I hate tactical maracas. So I figure these $7 (worth of material) inserts combined with a $6 EPM spring will work. Still waiting on an EPM insert to work on the internals, so its just a solid block for now.

  6. It’s a shame, as they are great guns to shoot I tried to negotiate on this one 6 or so months ago and failed miserably , I ended up finding one on here, 5 miles away from me and paid almost £200 less than this one is now up for The term Dreamer doesn’t even touch the sides with this one 😂

  8. Its within sentencing guidelines and higher than the minimum sentence, so not a soft touch. He had previous convictions - but did they have any relevance? If not then they cannot be taken into account in this sentencing. He plead guilty, and was therefore eligible for a reduction in sentence (but not less than minimum) Firearms – Possession with intent to cause fear of violence – Sentencing (sentencingcouncil.org.uk) From the sentencing guidelines, I would place 'culpability' in category c, and 'harm' in category 3. A – High culpability: Intention falling just short of intent to endanger life Conduct intended to maximise fear or distress (Intent to cause fear/distress, but not maximise) Sophisticated nature of offence/significant planning Leading role where offending is part of a group activity Firearm or imitation firearm discharged Prolonged incident06 B – Medium culpability: Firearm or imitation firearm loaded or held with compatible ammunition but not discharged (Pellets were found with the gun at home, but no confirmation of whether or not it was loaded during the inc0icent) Significant role where offending is part of a group activity Some degree of planning Other cases falling between culpability A and C because: Factors are present in A and C which balance each other out and/or The offender’s culpability falls between the factors as described in A and C C – Lower culpability: No intention to cause injury to persons ( I can believe that there was no intent to cause injury, just to threaten - produced a BB gun, an air weapon, and placed it to the window and made threats to the complainant, causing him some concern.") Lesser role where offending is part of group activity Little or no planning or unsophisticated offending (it was certainly unsophisticated) Firearm or imitation firearm not produced or visible Conduct limited in scope and duration (From the report I would assume this was short with Walker showing the pistol then continuing his manoeuvre to drive out of the jam) Category 1 Severe physical harm caused Severe psychological harm caused Category 2 Serious physical harm caused Serious psychological harm caused High risk of death or severe physical or psychological harm High risk of serious disorder Category 3 Alarm/distress caused made threats to the complainant, causing him some concern." All other cases not falling into 1 or 2 So with C3 and referencing table 2 for an imitation firearm I would be coming up with a 'medium community order' or between 6 months and 1 year. Possibly increase it if previous convictions are relevant and reduce a percentage for the guilty plea. The judge was more severe than me, perhaps treating it as loaded for B3, starting at 18 months and reducing to 16 months due to the guilty plea

  12. My local runs semi-auto only days (with full auto LMGs) and they work pretty well. I actually prefer them to the usual full auto spamfests, as it's not a huge site. Sad to report that my day today didn't go, as the full-day raffle-prize game pre-booked out a month ago. I don't book woodland that far ahead, because... well, we've got torrential rain and 40mph gusts this morning. Aggravating because I'm pretty sure that half the bookings won't show up, and half of those who do will leave after getting soaked through, or plunging into the Dagobah swamp. Had it been a walk-on, I might have pulled the MVP DPM on PDQ for PDW play and gone anyway, but we'll never know now. Love 'em, because I can just drop the pistol and fumble with my balls or yank my pin on a whim.

    Airsoft bootsales?

It's just a question of making it worth their while. If it's a car full, maybe offer to hold your sale at the end of the day so as to not disrupt the play. I've found that "making it worth their while" can amount to nothing more than h̶a̶n̶d̶j̶o̶b̶s̶ giving owners and marshals first dibs on the best gear.

Couple of weeks, there were a couple of moments when it dropped of the radar but one of the alt brick FB groups were really helpful. I picked up a 1911 for my younger brother, and will definitely be getting a couple of these sets... At least this hobby won't cost as much as Lego.....

  16. GL + pistol is definitely interesting though I presume you've chosen munitions and know the rules of the site/s you want to play? If you can't use TAGs or don't want to spend a fortune shooting them then all your launcher is is a big shotgun, except way less useful than even a cheap spring/pump tri-barrel and some sites have MEDs that make standard 'shower shells' a pain to employ given their range and spread. But then again, a fun experience cracking the tube to reload and satisfying when you do tag someone. If you want to use TAGs, get whatever you like the look of that has a tilting barrel, i.e. not the M203 or anything with a sliding barrel. Sling mounts don't matter just buy paracord and you can easily make any sling attach to anything and some of the most popular slings used for legit guns use cordage as attachment for its' silence, versatility and strength.

  17. I'd say under 35 for the day is alright, at least in SE england, I've paid more for CQB with no lunch and that was years ago. I think The Mall was at least that much before it shut. I don't like to say it, but unless it's gone down a rabbit hole or lost in the deepest undergrowth then somebody would definitely find an entire pistol so if it wasn't returned.. not great. I'll say I don't recommend pistol lanyards, 100% totally unnecessary if you just get a decent holster and it's a lot better to buy a decent holster than spend the same on a cheap holster + lanyard combo and drag your pistol through the muck. Even if it's not damaged, a lot of GBBPs can choke pretty easily if anything gets inside in crucial areas, given the low pressure of the gas and comparatively super low momentum of the slide cycling. It's a decent rule overall, I'm still on the fence but a bit about it but certainly one effective method to keep a lid on some issues and super easy to enforce. As I say my selection of guns just really didn't suit that rule and I'd have picked differently if I'd realised, but only had 4 lock-ups all day max out of my usual 4-500 BBs slung and only when I got spammy. As long as you have something that's a "real world machine gun" you can flick the switch, but one guy just had an RPK and I don't know where they'd draw the line on ARs with belt fed uppers etc so personally I'd change that one to some kind of weight requirement but again pretty minor issue there were only 2 on site.

  29. worth mentioning seeing as you're going for replacing the air seal components to think about the nozzle too, especially if the stock one doesn't have a sealing o ring. otherwise that's pretty close to what i'd be thinking of dropping in there, i always struggle to recommend specific parts because there's always that chance X part might be off and won't work (which i've had plenty of times, it's how you accumulate a parts box) those silent type piston heads can push the aoe back, which depending on the gun might mess things up although it looks in this case (using very rough judgement based off one picture) it looks like there's room for it to shift back anyway.

  31. I think you are correct on soft touch, given they have previous convictions and the shiny black tape on the grip. One must ask why it was in the car readily at hand if not to pull this bullshit. This kind of incident is where a national governing body could pull its weight and issue a national ban and resind any defence the defendant was holding....

  32. I'd change the piston head too, keep everything to do with air seal the same brand. Obviously get some silicon oil to apply to the piston head and cylinder head whilst fitting.

  34. A tech went with an insane short stroke. But only because decent 13:1 gearsets were non existent at the time. I would never short stroke again because the 420mm barrel length is already at the maximum for the air volume of a full type cylinder. You need to replace the Cylinder to a full type as you are already losing alot of volume with the port. The less volume, the more unstable heavier bb's will be. I just used a basic mosfet to protect the trigger contacts. As for a motor/gear combo. Best would be 22TPA Neo motor and 13:1 gear ratio. Good would be 16TPA Neo Motor and 16:1 gear ratio. (Just as fast as the above option, but would drain battery quicker).

  36. Check your inner barrel length, so you don't go longer than stock, as the cylinder is ported and the gears are short stroked to match.

  38. I'm a big believer in the idea of voting with your feet. If you don't like how a site is run, and the kind of shenanigans the marshals let slide, then don't go. If it's really that bad, then attendance might become low enough that either the site bucks up its ideas or becomes financially non viable. A third outcome is that it will become a site totally frequented by arseholse and every gameday becomes a circle jerk of fuckwittery.

  42. First time at Gunman Bravo yesterday since it was the closest thing to getting a game this weekend just gone and @Asomodai rated it highly. Overall, not an undeserved reputation; I struggle with giving fair appraisals of sites as I was pretty spoiled by the places I went to when I got in to this game and probably judge things overly critically as a result so while I didn't have the *best* gameplay there per se that's probably no reason to think negatively of the outfit. I was very surprised indeed by the semi only rule throughout the whole site, definitely an interesting approach and something to mull over given the conversation that's ongoing in the ROF-related thread. Unfortunately I'd brought two TM NGRS that are now by modern standards pretty old school, one being dead stock and the other with just some extra FPS and as some of you will well know those guns don't mesh well with trying to fire quickly in repetition, so a few lock-ups reared their head. Luckily the visceral satisfaction of doing the reloads was a saving grace. The TM M45 would've really struggled if I'd actually used it which was also surprising as it was almost 10C, but it was also the moistest skirmish I've ever done which may have been a factor and I barely saw any pistol use all day from anyone. Also learnt that the Revision desert locust fan goggles have enough extra stand off from the face to cause some minor eye relief issues with my replica ACOGs, though again it was so damp that the optics were fogged fairly often anyway. Lessons learned for future and I think my new Holy Warrior magnifier might actually have further eye relief so it could all work out. £25 for the walk-on is certainly decent, very good safe zone maybe the best I've seen at a woodland site, but £8 for the lunch did shock me slightly. On the one hand you're in the middle of the woods with no connected utilities and the lady doing the cooking is lovely and quantity was good and quality at least average, I certainly didn't dislike eating it. Then again quality wasn't amazing either and orders seem to take ages for some reason. Luckily I'd arrived just after the gates opened and got my order in but a lot of guys were only getting their food after the lunch break had finished and I was back out in the game area. The thing that was best and worst at the same time is I discovered my Blackhawk Omnivore (non-light model) doesn't protect the 1911 mag release sufficiently from my thicc ol' quads and after about 14 years of not having it happen I had the absolute classic 'oh that expensive GBB pistol mag isn't in my pistol where it should be' moment. But then the small size of the main play field really worked in my favour and by the will of all of the gods I almost stood on AND actually spotted my small, thin, black painted, dirty 1911 mag on the dark, mucky forest floor while wearing tinted goggles on the walk back to regen. I can only presume I had some good karma built up because as I'm sure most of you know the odds on that were fuckin slim.

  43. While I would agree that governments and special interest groups create "fictions and accumulated unspoken inconsistencies" that suit their own needs, with Brexit possibly being the most impressive of these in recent UK history, I am not convinced that there has been "a plainly consistent denial of the quantitative, as announced by those who announce the quantitative itself, to an audience plainly experiencing the contrary", at least with regard to COVID-19. I think that one of the problems with such an assertion is that "the audience" only experience what they experience, which is narrow and limited; another, when directed at the pandemic, is that "the quantitative" is, of necessity, historic, rather than being current or an entirely reliable guide to the future. People, even (or perhaps especially) experts, will interpret that data according to their own specialism and training; for example, public health specialists will generally err on the side of actions that they perceive as protecting public health. Regarding your edits: [what is perceived as]: Perceived by who? Would letting the virus at its height (or what was hopefully its height) rip through an unvaccinated population have been better for public safety? In the purest sense, we can never "know" that. [finance sector of the]: Disagree; all the sectors that are either of "interest" to members of the government and those who fund them or which are perceived as being essential to maintaining the support of their voter base. However, the finance sector may well be the most significant of the former. [insider]: Yes, especially the back benches, which the current government seemed to think it could take for granted. We now see the wonderful spectacle of the potential successors to the fornicator-in-chief being told what to do by the 1922 Committee and others in order to gain their support. Essentially, UK government policy on the pandemic is now being formed by a group of backbenchers. [by maintaining the fiction that tax and spend actually happens, and that this is being managed responsibly]: tax and spend does happen, so that part is far from being a fiction. Is it managed responsibly? That is arguable with individual answers probably being dependent on one's political and economic viewpoints.

  50. I'd like to start off this thread by saying that the pistols, rifles and shotguns that I recommend are, and always will be, from my own experience of using them and by popular opinion from regular users on here, other forums and other reputable sources. This thread will also be updated over time. The amount of threads I keep seeing about this subject literally popping up every other week is getting a tad bit annoying, so, I figured I'd create this thread to save people from repeating themselves. So, you're a new player looking for a decent gun hmm? You have a set budget for a gun that will be suitable for skirmishing and won't break anytime soon. If you have a budget of £20 - £60, these guns will do just fine. Primarily gas and spring. - Any Double Eagle/AGM single-shot shotgun: These things have good range with .25g BB's and don't shoot above site limits, for around £30 you can't go wrong. Bison shotguns are a good option if you prefer a different look. - Any Double Eagle tri-shot shotgun: Like the single-shot shotguns, these also have good range but cost slightly more (around £50.) Do not purchase the Marui tri-shots new because, personally, the quality is on par with the Double Eagle tri-shots, not worth above £100. Cyma make metal tri-shot shotguns with folding stocks, full stocks, stockless and all metal or polymer for under or a bit over £100 depending on the model. G&P shotguns are outdated and overpriced, avoid. - ASG, KJWorks, HFC MK23: Absolutely the best gas pistol for under £70, very efficient, accurate and cheap to buy. The included 'silencer' will increase the FPS, try to find the Marui silencer to make it deadly silent. - Cyma AEP's: Like the MK23, these AEPs are excellent for the money, reliable gearboxes, some upgrade options out there on sites such as Eagle6 and Firesupport, magazines are very cheap, LiPo kits are also available and are a worthy upgrade. - HFC gas pistols: These are OK for around £30, average accuracy and gas efficiency, plastics used aren't great BUT the pistols are rugged enough for skirmishing, but they won't stand up to long-term use, consider saving up for the MK23. If you have a budget of £60 - £100, this is an ok budget for a gun. - KJWorks P226, Glocks, M9s and 1911s: These guns are absolutely solid, will last a long time if taken care of. Good kick, average gas efficiency due to metal construction, fully Marui compatible. These are capable of using Co2, but is strongly advised due to inconsistent FPS. Magazines are poor quality and WILL leak during your ownership, replacing them with Marui magazines is advised. The paint that is used is very easily chipped. - WE Glocks, P226, M9s, XDMs and PX4's: Like KJWorks pistols, these pistols are very solid performers and are reliable, average gas efficiency and good range. Avoid purchasing second hand, these pistols are usually very well used in their lifetime, check the condition of the pistol before considering purchasing. The Glocks are slightly fatter than the real thing, so as such, they do not fit most plasic holsters, either trim the holster or purchase an adjustable cloth holster. The paint on the pistols is slightly better than the KJWorks, but will still easily be scratched off. - ASG Dan Wesson revolvers: These guns are reliable, but have no hop up, so they lack range. Only capable of holding 6 rounds, these are not suitable for skirmishing due to the lack of range and the inconsistent FPS. Good, realistic backyard plinkers for collectors. - JG Skorpion, Mac 10: These are very reliable and rugged AEP's, clones of the Marui so plenty of upgrade options and magazines online from sites such as Eagle6. You will be outgunned by regular AEG's such as Combat Machines however due to the small gearbox and weak motor. Will make a decent side arm if using a high-capacity magazine. - Well R4 & R2: Decent AEP's, on par with JG. Clones of the Marui, so upgrade options are available. The plastic Well use for the AEPs are very poor, and will shatter under heavy use. The R4's magazine release will snap if used a lot, so take care. Please consider the JG over the Well if possible. If you have a set budget from £100 - £200, the options are essentially endless. This is the budget you need for a good reliable gun. Spring guns aren't included on this list as you'll end up spending more than you'll realise when you end up upgrading them. AEGS: - Any: G&G Combat Machines/GC16, Cyma AK's/Mp5's/M14's, JG G36/AUG/AK's/G3s, ICS M4's/Mp5's(Sportline)/AK's/G33/Sigs/Mx5's, Classic Army Mp5's/M4's/AK's/P90, SRC G36's, ASG Sten-gun/MP40/MP44/AUGs(JG)/M14(Cyma), APS AK's, King Arms P90 and D-Boys KAC/AK's. Pistols: - Any: Tokyo Marui gbb pistols! Their Hi-capas, Glocks, M9's and 1911's have the most after market parts. KWA/KSC pistols are also very good, the Glocks are extremely robust apart from the full auto versions due to their weak fire selector. Marui pistols will work fine on propane/green gas, though I wouldn't recommend using propane/green gas in them on warm days, stick to HFC gas instead. KWA/KSC gbb's have inferior hop up designs, as the 'nub' that is used to apply pressure is just a tiny ball bearing, whereas in the Marui pistols, they use VSR buckings and regular nubs. "Why aren't sniper rifles/DMR's included?" . Spring guns aren't included on this list as you'll end up spending more than you realise when you start upgrading them to 'outperform everyone on the field'. DMR's are just AEG's; put an oversized scope on an unweildy rifle and you've got a DMR. If you have a set budget above £200 to £300, any AEG will do. Consider Krytac AEG's as they're very well shimmed and have excellent air compression. If you like realism, try gas blowback rifles such as WE/GHK/KJWorks, the WE's will definitely require upgrading for long-term use, also consider HPA use for consistency (or Tippman M4's). If you don't like the idea of buying gas but still want the realism, consider the Marui recoil shock series or CTW's. Hope this helps!
