An extremely gratuitous few purchases, but ones Iβm over the moon with: Ferro Concepts FCPCv5 Ferro Concepts Assault Cummerbund Ferro Concepts Strap Socks (I reckon these have been updated with a bit more padding than the last set I had, big fan) Ferro Concepts TEAR Front Panel AXL Advanced Admin Zipper Esstac KYWI 5.56 Full Size Spiritus Systems Small GP Pouch Trident Gear Training Plates - Swimmer Cut Extremely comfortable, breathes nicely, the cummerbund is superb and the front panel might be my favourite looking one to date alongside taking mags very nicely without feeling like I need to attach the bungees.5 points

Hi, ALL! π Just went on to my YouTube channel, checking videos and one video has gotten over 1K views! Nothing compared to bigger channels, still an achievement! ππ Thanks to all those that have Subscribed, been watching and being positive! π«ππ π·GAMBLEπ·5 points

Yes did build up a SD6. Finished it last night came out lovely. Wasn't too hard to build if you can get original ICS parts and have access to a lathe to build an adapter. Longer barrel and new spring bumped my FPS up too 340 so looking forward to using it tomorrow for its first outing. Also fitted my magpul guard and gemtech QD suppressor from my other ngrs mp5 I built myself to see what fitted and they went straight on. I have a real steel sliding stock that I wanna try out but I think only the rails of the stock will fit with some milling so I might stick with the original as it's way more solid than any sliding stock on Rif.3 points

Hi, been lurking for a while so thought I'd sign up. My 11 year old son has been Airsofting a few months and I bought him a AEG from my nephew who changed his mind after buying it and decided to get a GBBR instead. It's a Nuprol Delta Sopmod, which I know has many detractors, but it shoots really well and I enjoy fixing and upgrading stuff. I'll probably get him a second AEG and have one as a backup and something to tinker with. I also got him a Cyma CM030 Glock AEP for plinking a couple of years ago when he was too young to go skirmishing. I've been involved in all kinds of RC stuff for 35+ years including cars (used to race 1/8th scale buggys), heli's and FPV racing drones. I'm even thinking I could put some of my RC skills to good use helping my son with aerial drone reconnaissance or ground reconnaissance with an FPV setup on an RC car doubling up as a grenade delivery system π Will be seeing y'all around.2 points

@GAMBLE, I see what you mean, I'd better watch myself its getting out of hand already, π¬ π¬π hahaha (hysterical laughter) ..the market seems big and busy so I shouldn't have a problem swapping or selling as I go. I've been watching your vids flat out now, absolutely awesome stuff, very good for beginners indeed, hope you keep it up!.. thanks to @Brophy for the link. Righto, good advice, ta! I've found remarkably cheap PPE with the required rating for high speed projectiles (120m/s or 393 fps) EN166 1.BT.9 K N https://www.safetecdirect.co.uk/products/3m2890s/3m-2890s-safety-goggles-anti-scratch-and-anti-fog-lens?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4eaJBhDMARIsANhrQADhVznHCnUSExfnAZ7Rd8wijCNjmK5QCdyIvuLxLozof4Yt9MM7KvYaAt9AEALw_wcB HAHAHA!...ta.. I guess with CQB and the Dye mask is fine as you wont really be ADS much..2 points

I'm a fresh convert. I mean, literally now, I've been sitting on a Baofeng programming cable for ages, but have just plugged it into my UV-5R, downloaded CHIRP, watched a how-to, and wow, that's much easier than button mashing. File -> Open stock config -> EU LPD and PMR channels, scroll down, copy the PMR channels, paste them into the start of the memory slots, and Radio -> Upload to Radio. Mine now welcomes me with a cheery "AHOY!" message as well. The volume wants to be turned right up for programming, is the only gotchya.2 points
-
As stated, I got the cheapest Baofeng 888s set and a programming cable. (Worth having because you can set many options) Any radio you buy will be set to random frequencies and should be programmed to the frequencies HERE (Same as the ones Rogerborg posted. I used the analogue frequencies) I had a chance to test mine out with my son at our last game and they worked great. As long as you don't hear other people who sound like ambulance, police, taxi or other official services, you should be fine to use it.2 points

I hope they do tbh If you're ever at a game which you happen to see me you are more than welcome to try mine out. To be honest I have built about 6 legacy system ptws this year, there seems to have been some kind of resurgence of interest in the ptw platform recently, and the new Kumi 490 motors are absolutely spot on and nobody has reported any issues yet so they are appearing to be reliable, and they are still very responsive, not infinity level but still very very good! I think the motor plug is a necessary evil as the grips from the older system obviously can't mount any other way, I do wish they included a real grip adapter, as it would be very nice to be able to just have the receiver milled to spec so I can drop on a real grip rather than having to have a whole part made.2 points

Be careful not to introduce them too early. A bad experience can put them off for life. It can be quite intimidating having grownups attacking you. At the fields I know 14 is the youngest allowed to play.1 point

That's good to hear but I'd rather be safe by using the correct PMR frequencies just in case. I used Baofengs own software and seems fine as well π Download if anyone needs it. (Install the Windows USB driver first)1 point

I'm pretty sure most of the emergency services are encrypted now. IIRC if you were to stumble on their frequencies all you would hear is static and wouldn't have the ability to broadcast to them.1 point -

Looks great. I don't have access to a lathe. Then again, I still have both arms, which I probably wouldn't if I had access to a lathe. I can't be trusted with power tools. Does it make much odds to battery space or is it much the same? Also, bold choice just jumping straight in there with the spring swap. Like it. Any word on the compatibility of existing AEG stocks? I have a B&T side folder I wouldn't mind having the option putting on.1 point -
The squeaky wheel does get the grease, but the second mouse gets the cheese. That's not strictly relevant, until companies learn to put demanding callers to the back of the queue. A borg can dream though.1 point

Best bet is to load the Python module on the Arduino as it is much easier to learn than C. Then get yourself the βAutomate the boring stuff with Pythonβ book and online course. I have developed a basic airsoft target game with a mini Arduino runninf C (with help from a friend who is a software dev) - those are two weeks of my life I am never getting back!1 point

I don't care about their other customers, when I have a problem. I call, I get the resolution I want, I move on with my day. I'm good at getting what i want too. I tell the same thing to the people I work with. They respect that and act accordingly. Then if I get an email from them, I know I can happily respond to it, as and when I have time to deal with it. If they message me on Teams or call, they get my fully attention. There and then. Assuming I haven't set myself to DND or I'm busy. Then it just forwards to one of my subordinates . Either way, end result is the partner get the support they want, they leave happy and do more stuff to bolster my commission.1 point

Anyone see on the news (BBC in this case). The part where they showed a market stall selling βmilitaryβ items in Afghanistan, most shopping were Taliban fighters, hoping for Real Steel American parts, sadly they were Chinese clonesβ¦. Most I guess similar to what we use at the weekends ππππ1 point -
First thing I did after spraying (well, stripping) mine was to inadvertently tell a copper. However since he was playing airsoft at an airsoft site and I explained that I reckoned it was OK because I could demonstrate that it was for the purposes of playing airsoft (being at an airsoft site and all), we were cool. Just like this story.1 point

I got home from work tonight and wife had left a note on fridge door. "It's not working" "I can't take it anymore" I'm going to my sisters". I opened fridge. LIght came on,beer was cold.....what the fuck is she on about?? π regards1 point

That's actually not a bad metric for determining real output. I've got plenty of 10,00,0000 Chinese-lumen torches which do work well enough for indoor CQB, but recently purchased a "mere" 800 lumen bicycle headlight which is actually painful to hold a hand in front of.1 point

How did it go? I am still processing the games or rather my interactions with the games so i will leave that out for now but as to kit.... The social aspect of sharing camp space was great, there was plenty of for all and chat and banter came easy. Carrying this lot was a pain but not unfeasable it was really only between trains and platforms. There was a (short lived plan to walk to the site from the train station but thankfuly i got a lift. sleep system - needs tweaking - the hammock and tarp went up really easily with the exception of needing extra loops for the hammocks to attach to. So that will be the long ones that i ordered in june and simply didn't appear so had to order alturnites, which are much shorter. nevermind there was spare rope. Now to make you all laugh, i fell out. i landed like a sack of spuds being rejected from the harvest. rolled all the way over and thud. I also need to plan a bit better when it comes to set up as i managed to have opening for sleeping bag on the opposite side to the opening of hammock. But over all slept well. Cooking - need to invest in a burner as i borrowed for the weekend. so the plan was to make a couple of high veg count super noodle numbers and supliment with breakfast bars, nuts and biltong and that was mostly the case for the Saturday. Sunday was only breakfast and biltong due to how the day played out. As a whole on the next weeekender there are likely thing that i will not pack and i think a larger backpack; to allow for more compartmentalised packing.1 point -

My son is interested but reluctant to start as he tends to go the whole hog into all his hobbies and he know it would cost him plenty lol. His main hobby is astrophotography and he has spent thousands on kit. Even nasa has asked to borrow it lol. My targets are 30 to 50mtrs his targets are 30 to 50 light years! It's a shame but next best thing is my grandson. I've got him and his mate hooked and we have played a few games together nowπ1 point

That's an astonishing question and statement. Phoning interrupts people and stops them doing what they were doing, i.e. helping other customers. Answering emails can be done in a block, more efficiently, while you're ready to deal with them. Then you're rewarding your highest cost, most demanding customers. Why not reward the ones who are helping you out instead?1 point

I'm wondering if it's RIF's that cause delays, as I waited almost 2 months for it to clear Border Force.... They were inside the box and resealed it and was covered in Border Force tape. I got a dodgy mk23 barrel (right hooking shots) off them once. I ended up having to ring them. Spoke to me like I was the issue. You literally can't put a mk23 barrel in wrong an shot straight again when returning to the original barrel which I did a couple of times to be sure. Had to push a little to return, and have the post plus the post it cost me to return as I wasn't gonna be Β£5 out of pocket for them sending me a flawed barrel. Even then had to poke them for my refund after they had received it. It wasn't great but I got my money back eventually.1 point

Most likely the digital frequencies. You will need to programme them to the frequencies you intend to use. Note that you canβt legitimise the 888s by using a lesser aerial or due to the site having a licence. They are capable of going outside of PMR frequencies and power levels so are not PMR legal, and you only fall within the sites licence if you have permission and programme to their frequencies However the odds of getting caught are virtually nil1 point

As someone who has worked in retail before and now looks after global businesses. Why do people always email when there is an issue? Has never made sense to me. Pick up the damn phone and speak to a human. Then if you don't get the answer you want, you can give them shit over the phone. We put all emails and tickets raised through our PSA system to the lowest priority, because if its not important enough to call, then they can wait until we get to it. If they call we start on the resolution there and then.0 points
