true, however to counter that argument if he is the type you're describing, how come there aren't any really high end guns? i'm talking fully decked out daytona's etc. sounds like the kind of thing i'd be buying with that kind of cash. same applies to having multiples of the same gun. if he isn't acting as a retailer then it is problematic to be charging retail prices for secondhand hardware with no warranty (in many cases he's charging more than known retailers like firesupport and even links them in his own ad) if he is acting as a retailer and providing warranties with his products, then it's down to the forum admins to make a call as to whether or not they're happy with a retailer plying trade via the classifieds, personally i'm not in favour of it but that's just my own opinion and i'm not paying to keep the place running.4 points -
Airsoft eugenics FTW. I actually agree: if you want to sell, git gud. Consider the cost and time required to set up and handle payments from the one or two volume sellers.3 points

Why does this forum not charge large volume sellers anyhow - I am new here but can see a lot of work has and does go on with the forum. These high volume seller are on a win win here for sure - reaping all your hard forum work for no return to the forum. I have seen other forums that have different levels of membership For example - Standard Members can list 5 items per month(free membership) Premium Members can list up 15 items per month(£9.99) Platinum Member - unlimited listing per month(£14.99) If someone is or wants to be a seller make them pay.3 points -
Doesn't the fact that he hasn't spoken up about his situation ring alarm bells, most people would respond to just getting one ad put on Mack's, he's had loads, all of which have caned him on price, especially without warranty, & alleged "newness" ,yet he keeps schtum ? Sorry, it's moody, yep no one has to pay his inflated prices, but every time he chucks half a dozen ads on regular users, who actually contribute in threads other than the classifieds get their occasional ads bumped down or off the page, & can do nothing about it for a week, what then, he does it again ?. @avenger63, speak up, answer your critics, cos frankly nobody believes your just a regular player ?3 points

@Daver - This thread exists to generate awareness within the AF-UK community regarding the price attached to certain adverts. On the whole AF-UK tends to have a lot of banter and at times it can have a very dry sense of humour, however, if an advert ends up in this thread usually it is warranted and how you choose to respond is up to you. At the moment your initial response was fairly reasonable, if somewhat final, which is perfectly fine but the follow up is typical of many responses we see from those who are either new to the forum or who take offence at the mere mention of the name here. A significant number of people who are mentioned in this thread fail to engage with it and that is entirely up to them. The two other types of people who tend to respond typically respond in one of two ways. The first way is to become defensive and, usually, abusive to some degree. The second type will either qualify their asking price (which you're by no means required to do) and/or seek feedback as to why their advert ended up being highlighted. One thing to bear in mind is that Hitman was not offensive towards you nor did he direct any criticism towards you beyond viewing your advert as "a little on the high side" which is perfectly understandable when you consider the asking price. This isn't to say that the asking price isn't justified, especially taking into consideration the Plano case costing around £140 by itself in the UK, but bear in mind that the general rule for airsoft guns and accessories tends to be 60% - 70% of retail, typically based on cheapest reputable retailer. Availability being the obvious caveat as a further consideration point. Finally, I'd recommend removing the batteries from the bundle and making them an optional extra. I'd also suggest doing the same for the optic and pouch. You may also want to fill in some details such as the manufacturer and model of the scope along with the manufacturer of the pouch.3 points -

Latest update on the TM MTR16 Still waiting for my 7" handguard and barrel, suppressor & a couple other bits to arrive, but @Wo1f has supplied me with this Dytac Geissele 9.5" one in the meantime (as well as a buffer tube, thank you 😁) SBA3 clone seems solid enough to hold a sling until my PTS sling plate arrives. Still gotta change the optic but this is the only one I have for now Progress!2 points

That's a fair comment. I will point out that he seems to have many satisfied buyers (or you could argue 'customers'), that in itself is a good thing for the forum in my opinion. The better the collective reputation of the sellers on here, the more popular this forum will be. You can see that there has been work done to root out scammers with recent announcements and this very thread serves as checks and balances for those who sell on here. I know you think that he's spamming - but if he's keeping people happy and coming back to the forums looking for more, that's a good thing right? I mean he has more positive feedback and followers than you, me and @Adolf Hamster combined.2 points -

Don't get me wrong, It does look a bit fishy on face value. But I will point out a couple of things - - 1) He is only selling singular Items, many of which have a 'slight' variance on what you would get on a true NIB gun (i.e. some are wired to deans, have got an extra mag(s) included etc.) - 2) There isn't much consistency with the brands he sells, he basically covers every major manufacturer from ICS to TM, with a smorgasbord of others in between. That is relatively unusual for all but the bigger retailers. I think (and I could be wrong) he could buy a fuck-tonne of guns with a large disposable monthly income, and bins off anything he gets bored with/doesn't like fairly quickly. For context: I work for an Investment Bank, where the even the upper-mid-level guys are on six-figure salaries (not me unfortunately). They could drop a grand or two a month on whatever they want, cover their monthly bills and expenses comfortably, and still jet off for two holidays a year. You should see the car park - there must be £50 million quids worth of cars and motorbikes parked in it (again, not me...) Again, I do not know this guy at all, but there could very well be other reasons why someone would sell in this manner.2 points -

there's a lesson here for new players: normally the airsoft community doesn't bat an eyelid at a 2-tones gun because we're all well aware of the issues a newer player faces and the excitement at wanting to get new kit. it's a necessary evil and we accept that. however, you 2-tone something nice and prepare to be a pariah......2 points -
I have not done any major testing, I have just adjusted the hopup and aiming before the game. I shot after something like 35x35cm signs at 45m and 75m, they are on our shooting range. 45m hit almost constantly and 75m I think hit the 3 out of about 10 but all shots were very close, had it been a person I might have hit with them all, there was a little wind so a little hard to do a proper test. During games I felt it shot just as well as my VSR 10 which is fully modified and and I have played with it as a sniper for 10 years. But it's just a feeling, I think it worked as exactly as you would expect at long distances, I at least got a lot of kills at long distances. .2 points

Amazing build quality spring shotgun with real wood and chrome finish. Unfielded, only used to shoot down garden so no accurate chrono reading, however if I had to guess I'd say it looks in the high 200s on a 0.2g comparing with my other rifs. Internals have not been messed with. A small rail section has been firmly screwed into the body for mounting optics (if that's your sort of thing) - pretty hard to aim otherwise as, like the real gun, there are no iron sights. There are a few very small marks around the body but nothing major - I've tried to make everything clearly visible in the pics. Message if you have any questions, collection only please£120

I haven't checked, but is he taking ads down early in order to post new ones? Also, it's 14 per account. Has anyone checked IP addresses? Not great for anyone who posts something similar just before a fresh pile-o-gunz gets dumped. I'd call caveat emptor on that. Also, giving the ongoing stocking situation, if he has something for sale that would be cheaper at a retailer if they had any, but they don't, then isn't he offering the best deal? My only real objection is if he's making it hard for folk to find other sellers. I guess that depends on whether you're visiting the facilities before or after another steaming dump.1 point

The main thing now isnt the frequency of posts its that he/she/it is obviously acting as a retailer. The posts just provided the evidence for that1 point -

Moderator Message There is a limit of 14 live adverts per 7 days. Much of the activity (traffic) on the forum is via the Classifieds. Whilst it would be beneficial for all members to actively contribute, they are not required (via post count limit) to do so. Breaches of the forum / Classifieds rules will be dealt with by the Mods. Sellers can ask what they like, the buyer has the choice to accept the figure or not. And this topic is to highlight dreamers asking outrageous prices for secondhand goods.1 point -

I just think that the Classifieds should be for the usage of people who actually contribute to the forum rather than the private selling ground of one person which is what he turns it into at times with his spamming of adverts. But as Adolf says, I dont run the place nor pay for it and this is just my opinion. Though Jedi did say this on 25 May: We do not let retailers use the site. However, a member who follows the rules can sell in the Classifieds. Whilst there may be very many adverts, at least they are actually in legible English, with decent photographs, and prices; which is something some other members fail to achieve. Upto you to judge whether he is a retailer or not. I think he qualifies. Either way I will shut up about it now and just block him1 point -

i suppose the main point really as you say if there aren't any specific rules being broken. i mean he's not scamming anyone and if people are happy to pay retail prices for secondhand kit then that's their decision.1 point -

But whilst there is another valid explanation, and he is operating within the forum rules, why should he be banned? Your gut feeling? That's not a valid reason either. Don't get me wrong - he could very well be a retailer. But without real evidence, and a change (or clarification) of the Classified rules, it's unfair to keep calling for him to be banned. You've done it a couple of times now in this thread. Perhaps a moderator could contact the guy and establish his motivations, just to put the matter to rest? Again, perfectly valid points too. I was just playing devils advocate. But until either he comes on here to clarify his intent, or the Mods make contact with him, it's no good sharpening the pitchforks and lighting the torches based on opinion and supposition. Just my 2p.1 point -
But offering it as collection only sharply reduces the potential market. I'd list the gun as postable - granted with the risks of that - and see if I could find a local buyer for the case. Regarding the risks of posting expensive toys, I wouldn't deal with someone who comes across as a professional angry man, either as a seller or a buyer.1 point

Playing devils advocate: what exactly has he done wrong? I mean specific rules he has broken? The mods have already said previously that he has, by and large, operated within the forum rules: To be clear, I've never bought from, communicated with, or met the guy. solid advice there the mistake you're making is trying to sell everything as a single package. you're selling a vector, meaning your prospective buyer is probably going to be more interested in it as a cqb gun, therefore a magnified optic like that is worthless to them. same applies for the drum mag, some folk just dont like marracca's hanging off their gun so for those people a drum is just going to be something that's either not going to get used or is hassle for them to sell on. as freefrag correctly points out if a manufacturer isn't specified and it can't be easily identified from the photos then people reasonably have to assume the worst when estimating value. for example if i were in the market for a vector and saw that ad what i'd see is a gun, some midcaps, couple of batteries in unknown condition and a bunch of stuff that will either need to be sold on again or end up permanent residents in various boxes of random airsoft bits. now you could strike lucky and find someone who just happens to want, whilst simultaneously not currently having, exactly the combination of bits your selling. but that's really narrowing your market.1 point -

That would be nice, i looked for that option to try and do just that. The filters are quite limited. It would also be great to be able to limit the search to an asking price range and be able to sort by location/dustance.1 point
