  1. g&g CM16 is about £120 on zeroone. AND they have a free two tone service. Great intro gun, and is apparently up to mid level (Only just got mine, love it though). *EDIT* Beat me to the punch.

  5. Well the good news is I now have my clearance, but its been a painful experience all round. Rather ironic that this sort of view forces so many of us to 'hide' our hobby to protect our jobs as shown by the posts above. Since I would have thought a security check that finds I have a 'hidden' life would be concerning than one that shows I am open honest person who happens to play a game with RIF's. Thanks for all the views and the supportive PM's, they made the difference and let me keep my sanity.

    Zombie Experience

Well I saw an offer by them for buy one get one free. So I've bit the bullet and I'm going. A friend from reading has taken the other ticket for half price for me and will be my bait in the upcoming zombie apocalypse. I will be taking my own gear, they did say its allowed but I think they limit the weapons you carry and the ammo. I might just take the pistol and give my 'bait' the G36 and weigh him down a bit XD Also does anybody recognise this site??? https://www.facebook.com/zombieXperience/posts/275054772618718 Would love to know where I've got to travel to for this XD (rather than be told 72 hours before the event)

  8. Me and 3 others from our team went begining of this year Facilities wise - a decent shop, porta pottys for both genders, free tea & coffee all day plus food cooked to order, well organised safe zone with plenty of benches at a decent height and to sit Chrono was done using there mags and cable tied to prove chrono'd Site wise - its big, laid out well with plenty of mixed ground, various positions to take with high & low ground to capture/avoid Even a couple of trenches Staff - very friendly, helpful, funny and fair to all players Defo worth a visit, drive slow as its easy to miss the signs and to ruin your 'boy racer' alloys lol

  13. I got my rs56 because I didn't need to upgrade anything on it as it's the performance of the hop that is more important than the fps and it's fitted with an extremely effective hop unit. The barrel fitted is a tight bore of 6.03mm. The gun shoots as good as you will ever need and it out ranges anyone I shot against.

  14. You'll need more than one mag anyways, I'd suggest you buy a couple, perhaps the supplier will give you a discount to compensate.

  15. Who are you sending it back to? What are the terms of the warranty? Do you have an RMA? In general terms if the goods are not fit for purpose then the seller is supposed to cover return postage or arrange collection. However the chances of you getting them to send you a new one before they have received the one you have told them is faulty (I assume you have actually agreed that it's faulty and they have agreed to change it) and verified that is indeed the case are slim to none. If you haven't told them and it's just going to land in their mail box with a hastily scribbled note saying "I want one just like this but not fucked" then yeah, two hopes - Bob Hope and No Hope.

  16. " use only with a certain power and certain level of emission; " That bit is kinda pivotal here! PMR446 is technically limited to 0.5W of output power, I can't think of any way you could be caught using a 5W radio though unless someone from OFCOM actually took the radio off you and tested it.

I had mid caps with my RS 56 and they keep up with my gun on 2 7.4v lipo batteries. Very surprised to hear about this from RS as their gear is normally top grade. If you was local to me you could try my mid caps with pleasure!

  19. Not related to the post but Taiwan (AKA The Republic of China) is a completely separate country to The Peoples Republic of China, it like Saying that North Korea and South Korea are both the same country and we all know the MASSIVE difference between those two. Differences between the two are: Taiwan is a fully democratic state where its people elect a president, prime minster etc from a number of democratic parties (a bit like here in the UK) China is a single party Communist state where its leaders are elected by a select number of Party members The Peoples Republic of China in it current form was created under the leadership of Mao Zedong (backed by Communist Russia) The Republic of China in its current form was created by General Chiang Kai Shek of the Kuomintang (Back the US of A) The Peoples Republic of China passport is RED with the main govt building as the logo The Republic of China passport is Green. In the UK people from The Peoples Republic of China who visit to study or work with the correct visa must register themselves with their local police force and must notify their local force if they move home or residence. In the UK people from The Republic of China who visit to study or work withe the correct visa don't have to register themselves with the police and are free to move about the UK. Technically Taiwan and PRC are still at war as no peace agreement or treaty was ever signed, like the argument between North and South Korea. Anyways more to the point about SCAR - L Air nozzles lol I found on my friends WE SCAR - L which uses a V2 gearbox to use just a normal nozzle, though i know that G&G sometimes uses a propriety nozzles just for giggles as my G&G MP5 had a different nozzle length from a standard TM nozzle.

A bit of in field "upgrading". Started bucketing rain in Bellurgan so I had to throw on some extremely impractical work gloves on instead of fingerless ones. VSR mag catch is already a bollocks to operate and impossible with gloves on,so I dug into my pack, pulled out a pen, knife and some glue. Cut the bellend of the pen off and glued it on the catch. Viola,no need to stretch my rectum and my wallet for PDi

    1 point
  24. At least USE it before you start having someone take it to bits! You might (and probably will) find that even with 300fps the range and accuracy on the gun are better than most others at your site anyway. Airsoft 'upgrades' in my experience very rarely are, nowhere is this truer than with a real sword gun where the parts quality is already very, very good.

  25. So long as this was within 14 days of receiving the item, (which it obviously is in your case, as you haven't received it) you have the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (superseded the old Distance Selling Regs) Them claiming a 20% restocking fee for an item not dispatched is illegal and you need to tell them! Post 14 days they are within their rights to and have no obligation to accept the item back. But as you have paid and they have not dispatched, you are covered. As per always don't just take legal advice from some faceless moron on t'internet, go off and do your own research on the CCR. But a strongly worded letter, threatening small claims court for breech of cantract and CCR breeches would be my next priority.

If that was at the Malls - it might have been my mate Greg. He's been known to enter a game with a pistol and dump pouch full of MK5s. Plus a set of remote dets. And his four BFGs.

  29. Just locked out your Facebook problem solved. I don't have any work colleagues on my Facebook or anyone who relates to the business I work for. Everyone I work with knows what I do and some of my clients do as well and it's a talking point. My personal opinion and what I say to people who see a pic or pics of me in my load out and don't like it............ Don't F**KING look then Duh. It's not a sackable offence wearing a load out nor is it one to have a pic of you at a gun range in the States. What you do in your personal time is your time not the companies time.

Ares really have made some very nice guns aesthetically but that really isn't one of the ones to prove the point

  33. With today's standards in the law, chances are you'd be the one in trouble and not the intruder One thing I was told when I did my training for a security licence was this 'You can harm (self defence) an intruder within reason if you can prove they posed a genuine threat to you and/or your family, the intruder was being intimadating, harassing you and few other things We're not america where you can legaly shoot an intruder (I believe not in all states though) so I assume you may be charged for brandishing a weapon and all consequences that come with "a deadly weapon" situation Problem is people sue each other these days and you'd be the one getting shafted by the justice (cough cough and pmsl) system
    1 point
  34. That is unrealistic to someone who knows about firearms, but not to the genpop, so no the retailer cannot sell that to anyone who cannot provide a defence.
    1 point
  35. Sadly the point of the VCRA is to only allow realistic coloured guns to be sold to people who legitimately need their guns to look realistic. For target shooting the colour is purely aesthetic. UKARA isn't the only defence, re-enactors get a defence as well but that requires membership of a re-enactment group and not every retailer will be familiar enough with this. A lot of WW2 airsofters use AFRA membership rather than UKARA, as we rarely go to the same site 3 times in a year and our games also qualify as re-enactment.

  36. In fact, in shooting air weapons your experience with real pistols would not be wasted. The gun is much more critical in airsoft target shooting as it needs to be as accurate and consistent as possible, which can require expensive modification- buying a decent air pistol will not mean you'll have to spend £££ having someone custom make you a race gun or spend slightly less money but a lot more time doing it yourself. With air pistol shooting it's more about the method, meaning your experience with 9mm would bet very useful. In regards to trying to dodge the VCRA without skirmishing- don't try.....it can jeopardise our hobby if more cases of VCRA-dodging are discovered.

  37. eh ???? fanx for the fanx but think this post was very useful and saw a nice gun anyway to each their own for looks and colours/customise etc.... (me personally the colour isn't as important as the actual reliability and accuracy but to each their own)

  38. Your definition of 'helpful' seems to be 'a way I can change the law,' well I'm sorry, you can't, so nothing you hear from anyone will be 'helpful' to you in that case. The simple fact is that if you want a 6mm BB gun in the colour of 'blued steel' you will need to be able to provide the seller with a defence. For most sellers this will be by giving them UKARA details, and whilst others will accept (and be well within the law by doing so) other forms of evidence that you are intending to use the gun at a proper airsoft site, none of them should be willing to accept the angle of 'I really want to shoot at paper targets but it just won't be the same unless the gun looks proper real.' Here's the helpful bit; your options are: - buy two tone; after all, you're only shooting at targets - play some airsoft and therefore be able to provide a seller with a defence - attempt to get a seller to put themselves in a potentially very serious legal position by selling to you despite the facts that you cannot provide them with any defence - buy something in .177/4.5mm, since they perform in basically the same way as other guns (and certainly allow you to rapidly shoot targets) and look the same as 'real guns' (including blued steel variants) but you need only be over 18 to get one Hope that helps.
    1 point
  39. "rapid" pistol could be quick with an AEP with lipo but pi$$ poor 200fps power Green Gas about 350-ish or CO2 will go to about 450-ish Some of the ASG / KWA CZ range will take both CO2 & GG mags - aprox 22 bb's and has some kick ar$e blowback and fire quicker on CO2 too if not UKARA'd then 2-tone blue slide will be ok and could have a splash of black "spilt" on it
    1 point
  40. Frankly I wouldn't care if they were all two tone. When I play airsoft I do so because it's a game, not because I want to look all speshul forces. It seems to me that your initial post - 'I just want to do some target shooting' - needed to also include: 'but the fact that the thing can shoot targets is only partially the point, I also want a pretend gun that looks real.' The funny thing is that loads of proper target shooters, like IPSC people, go out of their way to make their pistols look less like 'proper guns' (as Rock-Climby-Dave has shown)
    1 point
  41. Am I the only one who's not seeing what the problem is? If you want to get an airsoft pistol for target shooting you can, just buy a two-tone. Nobody needs any defence for anything and away you go. If you just want to rapid target shoot then the colour of the thing really shouldn't matter.
