TM MP7 AEP - 11.1 lipo in the grip keeps it a nice slick unit. PEQ boxes always dwarf the MP7 and eat up rail space. Both ROF and trigger response are improved with the 11.1 over the 7.4 Lipo via the adapters. Converting the fore grip to the A2 railed front rails makes the whole thing more solid.

  3. Played at The Gaol on their Pistol and Shotgun night last night. First outing in quite a while for me and it was well worth getting back home at gone midnight. The site had changed a hell of a lot since I was last there, the players (albeit small numbers - 12 I think) were great and a real joy to play with. Certainly reinvigorated my enjoyment for playing and even better being pitch black and on a site as exciting as The Gaol.

  6. I really enjoy creating custom builds based on real-steel counterparts, and take a lot of inspiration from what other airsofters have built. I can't seem to find any dedicated pistol threads here; so I'm starting a thread where we can share some customized pistols. Curious to see all of your cool custom pistol builds, so feel free to show off some of your one-of-a-kind handguns! ---------------------------------------- I'll kick it off with a recently finished build. Based it off a "bowling pin" 1911 that's used in competitive shooting circles. -> https://www.thearmorylife.com/bowling-with-a-pistol-a-guide-to-pin-shooting/ These types of handguns are usually older, base model 1911's retrofitted with all the modern upgrades such as adjustable sights, and ridiculous compensators. Did some research and found that this was a style of 1911 popularized in the 70's~90's by people like Bill Wilson (Wilson Combat). Think of it as what resto-modding older cars are, just for guns. Started off as a basic MEU with a guarder slide and frame, but now complete with a commander-style hammer, tung oil finished wood grips with custom cutouts, and compensator. I've also upgraded all the internals such as the BBU and sears/disconnectors. Pretty much done at this point but I might throw on a ridiculously long inner barrel to match the length of the comp. Otherwise, looks as massive as it does in the pics and shoots like a dream Tried reverse-crowning the barrel while waiting for the comp to arrive. A gunsmithing technique where the barrel is cut inwards at an angle, used to increase accuracy. Pretty sure doesn't work on airsoft outer barrels but still, looks cool as hell Real steel pin-shooting 1911:

  7. Hmm, that is a reasonable question, especially in the context of kids using it. I'm sure if a civil servant with a clipboard turned up saying "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" then they could find cause to shut down just about anything. Some of the the Work at Height Regulations might apply. From a player's point of view, if it goes badly wrong, you'd be suing the site or the owner, and their indemnity insurance should cover them unless they've lied so egregiously that the insurer could void it. Even at that, if it reaches court, I'd expect the insurer to be told to pay up, then take it up with the site owner. That's what happened in some motoring cases that I looked into a few years back (apologies, I don't have the citations to hand).

  8. I'd hazard a guess that over 90% of Brits, particularly urbanites and women, wouldn't own a gun even if we could buy one over the counter in the corner shop, no questions asked. There's no real passion for increasing gun rights, it's more of a rearguard action to preserve the few that are left. The UK still has some amount of hunting, but it's a niche activity, split between seasonal bird shoots by the land-owning upper classes, managed culling of deer and some wild sheep, pest control (a lot done with airguns rather than bang-guns) and a bit of poaching. There are a few target shooting clubs, and recreational clay pigeon shooting centres. That said, shotgun licensing remains "shall issue" in the UK. You have to apply and pay for a licence, provide references, and have secure gun storage, but otherwise it's up to the local police force to find a reason to refuse. Once you have a shotgun certificate you can buy as many smoothbores as you like, up to a 2" cannon, or (I believe) a 3-shell pump action. This means that in practice, anyone who wants a shotgun for pest control, recreational shooting, or any other reason (just don't say home or self defence) can get one, yet only about 1% of adults do. I'm actually surprised it's that high. If you were to use a firearm for self or home defence in the UK, you should expect to find yourself facing murder or manslaughter charges, irrespective of the circumstances. Conversely, I'm not aware of any UK police constable who has been convicted over shooting someone while on duty, even when they give their evidence in the form of song titles. Licensing figures: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statistics-on-firearm-and-shotgun-certificates-england-and-wales-april-2020-to-march-2021/statistics-on-firearm-and-shotgun-certificates-england-and-wales-april-2020-to-march-2021 As at 31 March 2021, there were: 156,033 firearm certificates on issue, a 2% decrease 548,521 shotgun certificates on issue, a 3% decrease 565,929 people held a firearm and/or a shotgun certificate, a 3% decrease of 20,422 since last year In the year ending 31 March 2021, there were: 4,988 new applications for firearm certificates, of which 98% were granted and 2% were refused 10,901 new applications for shotgun certificates, of which 97% were granted and 3% were refused 2,566 new coterminous applications, of which 97% were granted and 3% were refused 306 firearms certificates were revoked – a decrease of 18% (-65) compared with the previous year and 0.2% of the total firearm certificates on issue 982 shotgun certificates were revoked – a decrease of 14% (-159) compared with the previous year and 0.2% of the total shotgun certificates on issue Experimental statistics: 365 firearms and shotguns were reported as lost or stolen; of which, 126 were lost and 239 were stolen

  9. I use WE/AW mags with red AW routers, they are definitely more efficient than AAs. Sometimes I couldn't get a full mag worth of gas with AA mags.

  10. WE/AW and of course Action Army, work best.

  11. Plus we are usually far away from normal people using PMR frequencies, so even with higher power, we don't interfere with anything. Probably that's why no one cares.
    1 point
  12. If you can find an airsoft site in the UK where the staff / marshals aren't using UV-5Rs or equivalently powered sets on PMR frequencies and channels, I'll be astonished. One thing I keep coming back to is that if you're not sure what you're doing with regard to frequencies, then sticking to the PMR bands means that you won't interfere with anything important in the real world, even if you're running "with your boots on" as we used to say a thousand years ago in the CB era.

You've absolutely nailed why I'm only considering selling it. I was far more impressed firing this for the first time than the MWS. Think I'll give it a run out next skirmish.

  14. Leah, how many UV-5Rs do you see kicking about? These are illegal to transmit on PMR as the equipment is not permitted to transmit over a maximum power of 0.5 watts, even on low power they transmit more power than is legal in the UK for the PMR446 allocation. Even it it was 0.5 watts they have a removable antenna and that excludes them being used on PMR. The ones I have don't even carry CE Marks. I would never advise anyone to break the law but do your own research and I think you will come to the same conclusion as me, that nobody cares if you are using "business radios" with or without a licence or using high power radios to transmit PMR.

  15. He’s going to overdose on tinder and doesn’t want to scare them off as he gets them in the door Or being a studio flat it’s pretty much open plan and he doesn’t have a spare room to put them out of sight of anyone who visits On a legal basis there’s either general visibility if the flat is overlooked and doesn’t want someone calling in the police because they saw guns, or there is also a potential offence of having insecure airweapons if a minor ever accesses the property (Technically ‘air weapon’ doesn’t necessarily apply to airsoft anymore due to Firearms act redefinition of airsoft, but it’s good practice anyway)

  16. I use an IKEA Pax wardrobe, It’s still a work in progress but it’s holding, so far, two carbines, two long rifles, and 5 pistols all in individual soft cases. It also holds my ammo, gas tac gear and maintenance and cleaning kits. I have added a fingerprint lock and intent to and more ‘mods and upgrades’. I’m thinking of using the back of the door to add magazine storage racks maybe. I like it because it’s unassuming, blends in with other furniture and endlessly customisable.

  19. I've just tried my racal frontier under a dye i4 and the fit was fine. Radio comes through the left ear, and microphone os built into the right ear. I have it running through a ptt into a baofeng 5ur radio. If you really want over ear then I'd look to remove the ear Pro from the mask and go from there, but look to get some gel cups as they conform better to a misshapen set of surfaces (in use peltors for work with assorted pieces of ppe)

  20. Might be worth keeping the M120 and short stroking the gears, will bring the power back down and reduce cycle time a bit. Your issue could be battery related too if they've sat around for a long time. I've been eyeing up Tower Airsoft too, it's quite local to me. If you want another old man to shuffle about with let me know, but you'll have to take it easy, I'm 32.

  21. They hadn't finished the upgrades when we were there, as you can see in the video, but they were talking about plans being afoot. Awesome to see they're actually underway! Might need to try to convince my friend to make another video from up there when it's done. 😃

    This advert is COMPLETED!

    • For sale
    • As new

An as new we g39 gbbr. It has been out on display at a shop so it has some marks from being handled but is otherwise in perfect condition. I have test fired it and it is shooting at around 310 fps using nuprol 2.0 green gas. I have also tested each of the 5 included magazines so they have some minor wear on the bolt stop paint but are otherwise in perfect condition and all hold gas without any leaks. Price includes fees and postage

    no NAF discussion??

Why would they, when it's packed to capacity every year? I'm very much of the opinion that everyone should know (or be able to find out) what to expect, and if that's not what they're after, just find something else to do that weekend and let those who enjoy it enjoy it. There would have to be some sort of monumental life-altering cock-up to surprise me now.

  28. Thanks Nick, that's useful info. I've gone ahead and ordered a WE XM177 - I found a shop that offers them with the correct markings CNC machined onto it, and the lack of markings was my main remaining gripe with the WE.

  32. You're right to be careful and prepared, but this seems a bit wordy. The VCRA isn't relevant at the point where you're stopped, and neither is it being a realistic imitation (we've seen a conviction for an orange day-glo half-sized springer). The offence is Firearms Act 1968, Section 19, public possession of an imitation firearm. All you need is a "reasonable excuse (the proof whereof lies on [you])". But you do need that. So what I would stress is to always be able to show where you're going with it and why, i.e. site information and ideally booking details. "Look at meeeee!" cosplayers are forever getting caught brandishing their bangers, and despite receiving forbidding fingerings from the Fuzz, they generally go on their way after Words of Advice.

  33. You wouldn't end up in court though (assuming you weren't actually doing something illegal). Also a random bit of paper you printed out at home would be meaningless. I think you're being overly paranoid. Just use your common sense and you'll be fine.

  34. The VCRA and UKARA have nothing to do with owning a rif, just sale, manufacture and importing. Just keep them out of sight and unloaded. If you are stopped by police just be polite, courteous and if they do ask you to open the bags explain what you're carrying, why and that you're happy to, but to do the search somewhere out of view from the public Remember, with any interaction with law enforcement will have a worse outcome if you fail the attitude test. Tuat being said I've been playing since 2004 and have never had any trouble using public transport, even travelling through central London
