How to get permission to play airsoft in derelict/unused buildings?
Jamsandwich and one other reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Somewhat redundantly. If there's no negligence, there's little prospect of a claim succeeding. The waiver doesn't do that, the informed acceptance of specific unavoidable risks does. These are two different things. The usual waffle about unconditionally absolving the site of any liability is just wasted words. I'd rather they used that space be more specific about risks, and who is responsible for mitigating them, phrased as "We will" and "You will". Passive voice introduces ambiguity. For example: Before entering the safe zone, you will remove the magazine from all your guns including pistols, fire shots into the ground until they are clear, and present them for inspection if asked. If this sounds unnecessarily pedantic, it's because it doesn't matter, until it really matters, and suddenly what's plain as a pikestaff to the plaintiff's lawyer is utter balderdash to the defendant's. For an example of getting it wrong, one of my locals says "If you show up in trainers or unacceptable footwear, you will not be permitted to play." Daft thing to say, as it creates a duty of care on the site that didn't previously exist. 🤦♂️2 points -
Returning after 15 years
gavinkempsell reacted to Dunt for a topic
Hi folks, old guy here returning to the game after a break. Sold all my stuff, accumulating new stuff. Folk might remember mr as Swedge from Airsoft Asylum in Shotts or SPC in Fenwick. I’m back and will be playing at A66, Depot and POW hopefully. things have drastically changed since I was charging about with a massive 12v NiCad in my hydration pack!1 point -
wish there was a way to check if my ukara is still active. I requested an extention, and got the affirmative from the site. but no email follow up to say it was done. Risky to buy from hong kong without knowing1 point

So just out of interest I asked a lab friend of mine to measure the weight some of the BBs I have, all Vorsk ones. Here's his summary. Weight .43g .4g .32g Mean 0.424 0.404 0.324 SD 0.002 0.004 0.001 RSD 0.5% 0.9% 0.5% Median 0.424 0.403 0.324 The BBs were measured, 10 of each from a bottle, to 4 decimal places. Mean is the commonly called average, SD the standard deviation, RSD is the relative standard deviation around the mean, and median is the middle value of the dataset. The .32s had a max and min difference over the 10 samples of .005g, which is just 1.6%. Pretty good I reckon.1 point

It's a science lab populated by research scientists with PhDs. They have proper calibrated kit so yes the weighing is likely accurate. I'd suggest getting the bbs round goes hand in hand with the rights weight( ie the right amount of material) I'm pleased those bbs were satisfactory1 point

New gearbox and motor but...
Rogerborg reacted to Pseudotectonic for a topic
If the battery and wires were heated up, first of all there is a short or jam that caused it, and secondly your battery might have been overdrained during the heating so it's gone flat1 point -

TM MP5 NGRS Owners

I'm using marui perfect hit .25s and they seem to work nicely. Good feed, consistancy and accuracy. That said they aren't cheap but they are what most marui aegs are designed around. Definitely work well with the NGRS series.1 point -

My brother! I have done the same thing to my Marui and G&G MC51, I followed this guide: https://www.gtapex.com/08/airsoft_g3sbs.html @Hatchet has already provided you the pictures contained in my link, but I think you'll find useful information as well. AND the link itself, which at the moment is working. Here a picture of my second iteration of the conversion: EDIT: corrected myself1 point

Why the hell does an AEG with a specifically designed longer gearbox made for more air volume for long barreled DMR builds come with a goddamn ported cylinder out of the box? Had a local tech fit a full cylinder, as well as a Perun mosfet in place of the cheap Cyma platinum one, programmed for semi-auto only and then had some electrical tape put over the full-auto sensor as well so it's doubly semi-locked! Also no pre-cocking because it's incredibly snappy on semi-auto anyway with an 11.1v lipo (ASG Infinity U-18000 high torque motor + Lonex helical gears) and I'd rather not risk extra wear on the parts and doubly not risk me accidentally leaving it cocked after a game day and killing the gearbox parts. Now comes my part. I've got a load of springs to go through as I want to find one that will do 1.14J on a .32 and another that does 1.88J on a .43. I think the current hop setup will handle it, but if not I'll need to experiment there as well. Thankfully, the hop and barrel assembly is a piece of cake to take out and it has a quick change spring system; I'd never do an AEG DMR build without a quick change spring. It's a bit of a heavy beast now with the massive 3.5-25x56mm scope (the eye relief on it is perfect for me on this) and the bipod and MAWL on the front, but I love how it has turned out!1 point -

Cyma ebb grach aep
Cocha reacted to HuttArmouries for a topic
So I just got mine. Fairly stiff prime by hand but it is surprisingly snappy. Trigger is quite nice if fairly light. Safety feels a little cheap and despite being on both sides the safeties are not connected. Both of them disconnect the trigger but you are gonna have to pick one and leave the other off. I dont tend to use manual safeties anyway so this isnt really an issue for me. Not the first clue on how to disassemble and there is no manual in the box. had one or two jams due to not charging the battery fully meaning the gears didnt quite make it all the way around but racking the slide spun the gears and put it back into manual and with a proper charge ive yet to have any issues. Range its pretty good for a sidearm, around 200fps on a .25. It feels a little on the chunky side but Its been a while since I had the raptor so it may just be how the actual grach feels. It isnt noticeably fat like the old 1911 aeps. it looks as it should.1 point -

My Specna EDGE 2.0 ak-105: Replaced the plastic handguards with Specna's wooden ones, shimmed them and the folding stock so it's all rock solid, used gorilla tape to keep the hopup center, yet to shim and relube the gearbox and buy a few upgrade parts and still haven't skirmished with it but I'm loving it so far.1 point -

Lambda Defence with SD kit, Marayama and Archwick GBB's. On Vorsk 6 gas and using .2g BB's we get 340 FPS on the Lambda, 320 on the Archwick and 315 on the Marayama. The Lambda is the softest shooting and could do with some beefier bolt return springs and it's a bit underwhelming to fire. If you are after quality and performance then get the Archwick as it's outstanding. I tried it with 0.3g's and it had no issues lifting them and the hop still had more life in it and I think it probably could do 0.36g BB's out the box. If the straight mag version is what you want, but on a budget, them Marayama are (or already have) releasing a straight mag version with the spare mags around £25 overseas which is about 1/2 the price of the Archwick mags but sadly I doubt they will be compatible between GBB's. Oh and the Lambda magwell is annoying as VFC and Raven mags can move forwards and backwards, sometimes releasing a little gas, which is a bit annoying. Some sticky backed foam inside the magwell will sort it.1 point -

Oh myyy......😍 I haven't been following this, but I'm gonna go back and find details! Anyway... This isn't that exciting when it comes to gun pictures, but I'm a happy boy and had to share. Last year I gave a friend my cheapy Cyma SVD, for servicing and upgrading. Then life got in the way. I got a rotator cuff injury, he lost his driving licence (illness, not booze), and what with one thing and another he's had it ever since. On Sunday I got it back. Full steel rack piston, 110 spring, different piston head, new hop rubber, hop nub, new set of bushings for the gears, combat union hop. Its kicking .3s out around 1.4 to 1.5 joules. I'm on site tomorrow, to continue with our site overhaul, and I'll be giving her a real test for range. Now all I need is an SVD sling.1 point -

My loadout from Sundays game, that @Skullcheweralready posted about in "how did your airsoft day go?". It's subtle, but you might be able to make out my favourite outfit colour. Not shown: 2 radios on my back as I was squadleader. Also not shown: me getting a headache from having to decypher what two different channels are trying to tell me at the same time. 😂1 point -

My Winchester 1873 is complete, for now... the question is what sidearm should I pair with it? I'm leaning towards a Tanaka SAA or Python... pic of the matching loadout / attire at the last western filmsim! A more modern offering now.... my weathered full steel AKMS. Hoping to go down a Tarkov scav or Cold war Poland route in terms of kit. The let down on this otherwise realistic piece is the grip... anyone know a spot to buy a bakelite or wood grip for AEG AKs?1 point

With the 2024 'Namsoft season coming up, I'm going to spend a few skirmish games using my 'Nam kit to see what I can get away with and get comfortable with the kit, as health problems prevented me from playing at any games last year so it's been a while... This means no ghillie, but doesn't mean no concealment tactics whatsoever, so £4 slightly coloured Aliexpress scrim net is great for covering up the m700. Will also have another scrim net in my kit to drape over myself and will attach some elastic bands for natural vegetation to further blend in. Might also swap this scrim net for a different coloured one as the other one I have to drape over myself is better colour shades for summer time. Along with my M56 belt kit set up for .308 mags, and TM 1911 or classical Ruger .22 converted AAP, we'll see what I can get away with against all those modern kits, ghillie suits and high cap magazines at skirmish days; if it works then, it'll work at the 'Nam games! I would run the mac11 as a sidearm (looks close enough to a mac10 with the chonk suppressor), but the filmsim rules means no full-auto for anything outside an LMG, so the 1911 or AAP work better as secondaries as they're easier to carry and the mac11's main strength is that brrrrrrrrrrrt fun switch. And no, I'm not a stitch counter and will never be one; I'm all about the BB wars itself. If it's mostly fine and passes the 10m "does it look period accurate" sight test, then it's fine for me. Not that people usually see me in game anyway, since my entire game plan is to remain hidden; last Vietnam game I played at I hit about half a dozen GIs with a 1911 from a bush and they still couldn't find me, despite the GBB action1 point
