  1. Not the seller (the price is a bit high but not really Mack's worthy IMO) but the guy offering £50 is taking the piss

  9. Yeah I agree with that. Even I wouldn't have the neck to offer that. Especially as a visible question. I would at least DM the seller.

  10. Agreed, Nuprol is a reputable brand, but it's hardly a good reputation. They just rebrand the cheapest tat they can find. Their batteries seem to be OK-ish, but their chargers are genuine fire hazards.

  12. You just need a tube that's approximate the same inner and outer diameter as a hop unit feed tube, i.e. when you push it into the top of the mag, it moves the latch and BBs can feed up it. A piece of inner barrel works, or any 6mm ID tube with about a 7mm OD. As a random discovery, I noticed that the purple inner plunger from a small Calpol syringe is hollow inside and has the right dimensions. So I cut the front off one of those and use that now - you can hold your thumb over the end and press it in to release a few BBs at a time, or direct it into a bag or bottle if you're emptying the magazine.

  13. Indeed. I spent time yesterday evening filing down several surfaces of a steel COL to persuade it to fit and do its job in an LCT gearbox.

  14. I'd personally avoid Earmors like the plague - as a group, we've had maybe 6 pairs between us over the last 2-3 years, and all but one pair (mine) have given up. If you're looking for a cheapish setup, I recommended the following to a friend and he's really chuffed with how well they work: Retevis first mic (Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N5A2NHH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00) Howard Leight ear pro (Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Honeywell-Howard-Leight-Foldable-Defender/dp/B001T7QJ9O?th=1) Then you just need a 3.5mm male-male cable to connect the two together. The cost of the Howard Leights' have gone up a bit since he bought them - I guess the conflict in Ukraine - but it's still a good setup for around £80.

  15. You drill a hole and pin one end, then push the other into the mag like it's the feed tube of the hop unit. It might take a bit of wiggling but it'll pop the bb's right out.
    2 points
  16. As above A short term fix is to intentionally load 10-20 rounds short of capacity and just run them that way. A stub of inner barrel is a handy tool to extract a set number of rounds from a mag.
    2 points
  17. Mid cap syndrome. The fully loaded mag is pushing the bb's with too much force into the hop chamber and air nozzle mechanism. You need to break in the mag spring.

  20. I use Howard Leights. They all that you want. I have the dreaded tinnitus too. I plug comms into them, they cancel loud noise and amplify low noise if desired. Very good for the money. Batteries last ages too.

    G&G L85 AFV magwell

Just wondering has anyone modified their magwell? I want to use My Lonex flash mags in my G&G L85, but it's a struggle to get them in or pull them out after you get one in. So I wondered if anyone else has had this issue and if so what you did to get your mags to fit your magwell.

    LCT M60 Series.

From top to bottom, looks like an original M60, the M60E3 (if so, the first time since TOP made one), the M60E4 in MK43 Mod 0 flavour, and the M60E4 in MK43 Mod 1 flavour. Although looks like they are opting to not reproduce the authentic modern Mod 1 top cover and are yet again going with the older style cover with a rail bolted on. LCT used to make M60's but they've been OOP for a while, so this must be a reboot. Lambda Defence did make a teaser post about an M60E6 conversion earlier this year, but it was quite a while ago and nothing since.

  31. The minimum I would use (and actually currently use) are Howard Leights like others have said. Having had (and eventually selling) 3 sets of Peltor XPs over the years, the HLs are about 90% as good for a fraction of the cost. I have tried some cheap Aliexpress electronic Earpro (a Walker razor clone) and it was monoaural - so no situational awareness at all. Binned it off fairly sharpish.

You could also try swapping out the tappet plate spring for an upgraded one. Then you can use your midcaps fully loaded.

    LCT M60 Series.

Imagine it will be a similar price to their older line, as you mentioned. Fire support have it listed as £1349. Could see them charging similar again. The Bullgear PKM hop up unit was compatible with some M60 models. So if the hop up unit is dreck, that's another option. The company teased a HK21 in the past but imagine the M60 would be a better seller. Will be disappointed when LCT display a teaser and then bring to market an AEG, faster than King Arms and their FN FAL re-release. Still will give the Taiwanese company credit, a higher quality M60 would be a nice alternative to A&K offerings. Also a M60E3 would be an expensive but more readily available alternative to the Inokatsu of years gone by.

  34. I use a couple of setups for ear pro and coms. Ear pro is very important to me so don't skimp on that part. I've a pair of sporttacs that I use for work and with the down lead connected to my phone for audio. Then for airsoft use I have 5ur with fist mic ptt and then the down lead connects to the ptt for the audio output. That way I get the ear pro I want and simple but effective radio setup. The second setup I have is a racal frontier. It'll functions well but did need a specific ptt to work with the 5ur radio. The racal setup I wear only for airsoft it's much more slimline on the head but a bit more complex to rig up initially.

  35. Of the 3, the Razors and Leights are probably what I'd steer people towards. I've been on the range with the Razors, can say they work for sure, the Howard Leights have been the go-to budget electronic ear pro for a lot of people for absolutely donkeys, see them all the time in the states; definitely proven - simple but effective. Neither are quite as fancily made as 3M or Sordin naturally but what you lose in electronics function and military application is made up for in price. Earmor on the other hand tries to do a full on tactical comms headset but at the sport ear defence price, reality is there's no free lunch and my guesstimation is that's why their reviews are all over the place. I get why that particular combo appeals to the airsoft market, 100%, but to me that's a product that'd only be for costume posing, not actually playing a game that involves pyrotechnics.

  37. Earmor/Walker Razor/Howard Leights are priced very similarly and those should be the bare minimum if you don't want to spend big boy money on it. If it has active noise reducing you can't go wrong. I purchased an earmor because people love to shit on it (especially on reddit) so obiously I had to buy one to see if it has any merit or just the usual braindead parroting. So far so good if it breaks I buy something else. ?

  42. Afaik isnt it a holdover from it being a p90 box? G&g with the version 6 box Theres a lug with a screw on the bottom of the gearbox about where the fill hatch of a hicap mag is. Fine if your using hicaps or g&g's special midcaps with a hole in them but a regular mid cap mag with a flat top wont seat properly. But easy to cutoff the tab and it'll take regular mags.

  46. Similarly, my YouTubing for airsoft is generally around finding 'How to' clips for when I inevitably cock something up. My go-to channels are Ollie Talks Airsoft, because he presents loads of useful information for the good of the GBB community, in a similar vein, @Bada Bing, because he's an OG GBBR-freak, making very well produced content for like-minded people (not shilling for dogshit companies) and AATV. Shame that Tom doesn't put much new content out anymore, but understandable. Also been clocking a lot of Jaeger Precision's MWS videos...but not the ones where he's building wanker-guns for the subject of this thread. Gameplay videos are just utter shite IMHO. The most successful channels are hosted by utter twats (we've established KM and NN as leaders in the field of whining-bitches-posing-as-alphas) while the lesser ones look like they've been filmed through a potato by people who don't understand that editing is a crucial part of filming. Just get out there and play.

  48. As has been said, the UK isn't as big a market as some other countries (not sure where we would rank), so most retailers wouldn't be able to put in big enough orders with each brand to be a priority for delivery, they want to ship at least a container and a small crate of a dozen by air freight won't really interest them, hence most UK retailers going through official importers and wholesalers, who will be able to put in an order for a container full of stock. Another issue is, the global chip market, still hasn't fully caught up from both the halt in production due to covid and a large % of stock was destroyed in a warehouse fire a couple of years ago. Airsoft isn't the only hobby to be suffering these issues though.

  49. Since 2020 shipping has increased in cost , materials have increased in cost , some factories have not yet fully returned to airsoft after switching to making medical and safety gear , fuel cost increases world wide . All of these are world wide but especially in some parts of Asia. Brexit may not help locally with the economy but it has nothing to do with the shortage of product being produced and shipped from Asia . Hong Kong shipping and warehousing companies have increased their charges exponentially the last few years which means retailers and factories are increasingly going back to sea shipping which is still very backed up from the pandemic rush and has also increased costs due to the global increase in fuel cost. If you think we have it bad the European shops have it even worse as the buying power in Euros is even lower currently according to my colleagues in the Europe offices. Add to this that there just hasn't been the new releases this year that we see some years but that fluctuates year on year
    1 point
  50. Maybe if products were coming from the EU but importation from China hasn't really changed. Royal Mail prices have increased however. They're seriously pushing all retailers to their Tracked solutions. On October 1st they raised their Large Letter prices by nearly 30% in one go, this has really hit eBay sellers. Back in 2015 1st class Large Letter was £0.80, today it's £1.95 ?
