Car share

Hey y'all. I figured I might as well create a thread to share what I'm working on and messing with. I do a lot of DIY modding, higher speed SSGs, higher power, and generally a lot of fine tuning on mechboxes. I won't be able to post a ton with schoolwork right now, but hopefully I'll put pics and updates up somewhat regularly. Right now I'm changing my Arcturus CAT back from a DSG to an SSG and upping the power to act as a DMR. As a DSG it was running at 1.5J and 58 RPS, and for the DMR styled build I'm looking for 28-29 RPS and maybe 2.5ish joules. I'll post some pics soon!2 points

1971: A man goes into a tailor's shop in Birmingham to buy a new suit. After going through all the usual choices, he settles on a nice single breasted two-button charcoal grey one with a single vent and three buttons on each sleeve. The salesman then persuades him to add a shirt, one with a complementary stripe and then he asks, how about we finish it all off with a nice kipper tie? 'That would be lovely,' replies the man, 'milk and two sugars please.'2 points -
I'm from that area, Islington to be precise but if I crossed my road I'd then be in Hackney. I moved out more than 30 years ago but travelled back & stayed there regularly, til my dad passed 9 years ago😟, & my strongest memories of the last few visits were regularly hearing gunshots, sirens & low flying police helicopters EVERY NIGHT. The days seemed almost normal though, which was kinda weird, but I get why police response borders on excessive in many areas, & as you've pointed out, this is just one sides pushed narrative by an extremely biased group. I wonder had a member of the public put in a call regarding "juveniles on bikes carrying guns", kinda call that guarantees an armed response. The cynical side of me might even question was the whole thing staged to illicit a police response, that could then be heavily critsized ?.2 points

tl;dr summary - Hackney, 13 year old with a blue-and-white (or pink-and-white) water pistol[*] gets rammed off his bike and arrested at gunpoint, allegedly. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67148208 While I suspect there's a bit more to it than that[*], it's a salient reminder that waving any vaguely gun-shaped-object in public is now absolutely gagging for an over-reaction by the tools of the State. [*] This is strictly the victimhood side of the narrative, being pushed by what appears to be a BLM offshoot. Similar reports from the US about "neighbourhood water fights" have turned out to actually mean non-consensual shooting of random public victims with gel blasters.1 point

Yeah. You would think there would be the classic tabloid photos with the mother and child showing off the "water pistol" unless the truth isn't quite what is being presented here.1 point

A young man volunteers for airborne training. After one week, he phones his father. “Dad, we had our first parachute jump today, but only about half the company jumped. The others were scared.” Dad: “Well, did you jump?” Son: “No, I was scared.” A week later he calls dad again “We had our second jump today. The sergeant said that anyone who didn’t jump this time would not get a pass for this weekend. All but about ten of us jumped.” Dad: “Well, did you jump?” Son: “No, I just couldn’t”. A week later he calls dad again “We had our third jump today. The sergeant said that anyone who didn’t jump was going to spend the weekend scrubbing the latrines with a toothbrush. Only three people didn’t jump.” Dad: “Well, did you jump?” Son: “Nope. I’m still too scared.” Another week goes by and he calls dad “Today was our fourth jump. The sergeant said he was gonna bend anyone who didn’t jump over the seat and screw him up the rear.” Dad: “OK, so you jumped?” Son: “Yeah I jumped … a little … at first.”1 point -

The (UK) airsoft definition is well defined in law measured by the plastic BB diameter and joule limit, so it is not something that needs to be tested in court, usually it is the more vague items with less clear interpretation that needs to be tested, so if it is over the limit, it is considered a firearm. How you will get prosecuted is another matter because I don't think police do door-to-door chrono checks of every toy gun in an area. By the way I find it interesting that there is no RPS limit in law. If you manage to fire a stream of BB at legal limit but at a fast enough RPS or large amount enough at the same time, you can definitely do some damage to person, in which case it would become a GBH or murder case, but not a firearms case because it is still airsoft!1 point -

By legal limit i mean the limit before the police start raising eyebrows and calling it a firearm, which is something us uk based folk have to consider even if afaik it has yet to be tested in court. field limits ofc are a different kettle of fish as they're mostly dictated by how much owch the playerbase considers acceptable.1 point -

MOLLE the start of the tacticool
Lozart reacted to The Waco Kid for a topic
MOLLE II WAIST PACK The MOLLE take on the field training/buttpack. It’s a departure from the previous style that hadn’t changed much from the M1956 model. *NB there is a “molle” traditionally styled butt pack. It’s basically the same as the IIFS model and doesn’t use PALS specific attachments. The molle waist pack is a simple tube with a double action zip on the outside (with covering flap), two short pals attachment points and wrap around compression straps. Horizontal Zip opening Pals fittings and sleeve with stowed away waist belt. Capacity is a bit less than the older packs. I can just about jam a poncho liner in this. The shape and fastening also means the volume is less versatile in what can be stowed. The compression straps are really the only means to add kit on the outside, unlike older styles. Waist belt extended The waist belt does turn it into a useful standalone bag and it can quickly be fitted to the Molle II patrol and assault packs. It’s low height means it will slit well on the lower back of the FLC and not push up a small pack worn above it. This seems to be the intended design purpose. It was produced in the standard array of camo patterns: Woodland,;Desert Tri-Color; UCP & OCP.1 point -
Might be worth putting something in your signature to make it clear you're in the US. This being a UK site, a lot of folks will be confused with your FPS limits!1 point

Picture of a guy who got shot by a 50mm weapon: *This page left intentionally blank* Barrett have done a handful of bullpups actually well worth a look in to. M95, M99 and the M82A2 prototype off the top of my head. The M95 I mainly know about because it was the main unlock for the Sniper class in Battlefield 2 and I once sniped a heli pilot out of an Mi-28 mid flight and that was perhaps the highlight of my teenage years (I was too scared to ask a girl out on a date).1 point

You can't use an aftermarket adjustable trigger unless you're willing to dremel some material off the holster or you keep the stock adjustment.1 point
-
Personally it's the CTM all the way for me as you can mount absolutely anything you want on the AAP-01 and still use it (edit: even the foldable stock if you want, and I did this for a short while), plus it comes with included attachments for both belts and molle (however for molle you'll need a Malice clip). Two things to be aware of though are always use thread lock with its bolts so they don't work lose and it does not work with adjustable / speed triggers.1 point

I believe this is a Zero One G33 Style flip-to-side 3x Magnifier. The magnifier itself is actually pretty clear without any noticeable warping/deformation at the edges but the eye box is really tight. Not all that bothered about it's downsides, I bought it for looks rather than functionality. I'll have to try slapping it on a rifle and seeing how well it works for spotting. Picked it up for £15 which a good deal when they're £75 RRP.1 point -

Played for 2 years with a marui benelli before getting an AEG, this was back in 1999/2000. Completely doable though in woodland and CQB It's all to do with getting to know the gun, learning it and your limitations and playing accordingly.1 point -
