Yes Tackle. What makes it even worse is they had the gaul to be selling both sizes at the same time, at the same price. I might even have to mention it in passing the next time I go in followed by a tut, but that might be taking it to far.2 points -

Completely agree on that. Once you have all of the kit, the maintenance costs aren't that bad. Hell, even set up costs aren't that bad. Have you seen how much runners will spend on trainers, or hikers will spend on boots and backpacks and sometimes camping gear?2 points -
How to setup ad-hoc fire teams
Cocha and one other reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
Last time i played, there was a new chap, with rental gear. I usually encourage them to tag along and actually quite enjoy random ad-hoc pairings on the field, but this guy was a little different - really crashing around, and insisting on shouting despite the enemy being rather close and us being somewhat behind their forward line. After quite a few unsuccessful attempts by me and another guy with us to quieten him down, I'm appalled to admit that we encouraged him to pursue 'a flanking manoeuvre' into an enemy base to get predictably lit up.... Well, it's all a learning process!2 points -

Hi-Capa 2011 Custom Pistol
Killer Adam reacted to MrFunkyMonk88 for an advert
This advert is COMPLETED!
- For sale
- As new
Built from the highest quality materials. The intention was to skirmish it. Itβs now looking for a new home. This thing is built like a rock and will likely never break. Given that itβs cleaned and oiled correctly, the only things that will likely need changing are consumables such as the hop rubber, the nozzle and the blowback unit o-ring. Itβs all been painstakingly filed, fitted and tuned and has had about 400 bbβs through it to test it during fitment. Iβve designed it to be functional on standard propane gas as well as tolerate High-Pressure Air up to single-bolt sniper rifle power. Here is a custom-built Hi-Capa 2011 pistol. The CNC lower frame by Airsoft Masterpiece with steel internals. The grip safety, mag release and hammer components are also all steel. Itβs got an adjustable trigger, with a steel trigger leaf, and has been set up with light and fast response. The grip is a CowCow Tech with grip tape. The slide comprises of an Edge Razer CNC Aluminium slide (very rare to find) and very lightweight. Threaded outer barrel and guide rod are steel. The Blowback unit is CNC aluminium by CowCow tech, with an Airsoft Masterpiece nozzle. It has a copper AIP hop-up unit with a brass hop wheel, the sights are fibre optic rear and front. There is a frame protector plate on the rear of the slide. The grip screws are like gold-dust! Steel lazer-engraved INFINITY screws, Infinity being one of the real-steel producers of 2011 pistols. There are many custom components not mentioned. It's a ground-up build so expect the best in reliability and function. All in all a pistol for life! Enough of unreliable sidearms. Though saying that, Iβve played pistols as primary weapons for years! I've built many pistols over the years and speak from experience. Investing in a Hi-Capa means access to the largest pool of readily available pistol upgrades on the Airsoft market.Β£860

What's really pissing me of is the fact that nearly every company, whether it be fuel suppliers or food retailers, is posting massive profits, higher than ever, while Joe Public is having to make some stark choices. Literally feels like a conspiracy to wring every last penny out "us". π€¬1 point -

Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Shamal for a topic
Apologies for this very contrived offering. Tired of constantly being broke and stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife with himself as the beneficiary and then arranging to have her killed. A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious dark-side underworld figure who went by the name of 'Artie.' Artie explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out a spouse was Β£10,000. The husband said he was willing to pay that amount but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money. Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the single pound coin that rested inside. Artie sighed, rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to accept the pound as down payment for the dirty deed. A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Tesco supermarket. There, he surprised her in the produce department and proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands. As the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath and slumped to the floor, the manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene. Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well. However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras and observed by the shop's security guard, who immediately called the police. Artie was caught and arrested before he could even leave the premises. Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested. The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared... (You're going to hate me for this...) 'ARTIE CHOKES 2 for Β£1.00 @ Tesco1 point -

damn, beat me to it.. I saw this video last night, but didn't get round to posting it here. I will probably only do the nozzle spring mod to my one, as improved accuracy is never a bad thing, and i may also add the washers in the bolt carrier. i definitely wont be HPAing my one though, nor will i be doing the AEG box mag conversion. still need to get out to a site and set up the adjustable nozzle valve i fitted last month (only been to one game since then and it was a CQB site, so i dont think an M249 would be very welcome there XD)1 point

They go here: https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/ We strongly encourage sellers to take a picture with their username and the date written on a piece of paper in shot with everything being sold (and even more strongly encourage buyers to be wary of adverts that don't do that). If you actually want to sell them, I would recommend listing what they are, and including (or at least listing) any postage and PayPal fees in the price. Best of luck.1 point

Mine certainly was - quick change spring to tweak the power to the right limits (useful for an SMG that is switching regularly between woodland and CQB), and the damn thing is ultra solid (heavy). I might be tempted to pop a new rubber in there at some point, but that's just for something to do, rather than necessity.1 point -

I bought a Β£10 single shot DE shotty from TG. It shot about 400fps on a .20. I unscrewed the body, held it apart with a stick (the front was glued together) and cut two coils off the spring. Dead on 340fps first time. Shitty self tappers just about held on putting it back together. Still have it years later as a back up, back up rif in the gun bag in case the lad forgets to pack my gnu for a post work night game again... Don't think I'd charge Β£40 odd quid for doing so...1 point -

Exactly.... a double Eagle for Β£160, a couple of mags and a battery brings you to Β£200, and all you really need then is eye pro and a decent set of walking boots. son of dan reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Every two weeks usually, sometimes more. In the run up to the boy emigrating we were sometimes doing two a week. Expensive but good father-son bonding. I maintain that, once the equipment is bought, Airsoft is one if the best value for money days out..... Β£30+BBs per person, and i get a 7 to 9 mile run, lunch and, when the boy was here, a fun day without fear of disobedience. Once I've emigrated next year I will only get a few chances a year probably, so im packing what I can in.1 point -

-
Eh, they were decent value for money a few years back, but they're not brilliant guns, just a pleasant surprise given the price. And, yes, "best" is entirely subjective. A reasonable rule of thumb is to find a CYMA model at the price that you want to pay, and then look for reasons to get anything else for that money.1 point

ML bucking
Nick G reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
If you are going to the trouble/expense of upgrading the barrel and hop unit, then yes, it would seem to make sense to put in a quality bucking. I personally use Maple Leaf (look up the pro's and cons of decepticon vs autobot and silicone vs rubber), and ensure that you choose the correct hardness (expressed as 'degree') - 50 degree would probably be optimal for a pistol. I hear that Flamingo buckings are also highly rated, but I've never used them myself.1 point -
