Visiting Shops in Hong Kong
Enid_Puceflange and 4 others reacted to Chev Chelios for a topic
Go to the Gun Mall in Mong Kok, got like 10 shops that sell world wide JK, P-X, Bang Bang, Den ETC then another 5-10 Airsoft/Modal shops that do not have a web presence in English. Get yourself a KABO Burger as you walk round. If you go to one of the big shops just get them to ship the gun home for you if you find one you like. I am sure you will enjoy the 8hrs, I was born in Kowloon Bay when it was still a British colony and have been back many times and love it. Maps link5 points -

There was a fierce battle between the Cowboys and Indians. The Indians captured one of the Cowboys and took him to their village. The Indian Chief greeted the Cowboy and told him, “You must die in three days, but you get one wish per day. What is your first wish?” The Cowboy said, “Can you bring my horse?” The Indians brought the Cowboy’s horse, and the Cowboy whispered into the horse’s ear. The horse ran off to town and came back with a beautiful blonde. The Cowboy took the blonde in a teepee and made love to her. On the second day, the Chief told the Cowboy he must die in two days and asked what his second wish was. The Cowboy asked if they could bring his horse again. The Cowboy whispered in the horse’s ear again; the horse ran off to town and returned with a voluptuous redhead. The Cowboy took the redhead in a teepee and made love to her. On the third day, the Chief told the Cowboy you must die today and asked him what his third wish was. The Cowboy requested his horse again. The Chief whispered under his breath, “Crazy White Man.” The Cowboy grabbed the horse by his ears, looked straight into the horse’s eyes, and said, “Read my fucking lips; I said bring Posse!”3 points -

Like the Sniper head nets that we were once issued for an exercise in the west of scotland - perversely not to use as a base for a ghillie head and shoulders - but rather to protect against the clouds of famously microscopic scottish midges. Seemingly ignoring the fact that the nets in question having holes that were circa 1cm x 1cm sized.....3 points -

Looking for a shop with an indoor range
Rogerborg and one other reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Sorry I can't help with that specific info, but just bear in mind an indoor range is unlikely to be long enough to really do that for you... I'm lucky enough to have 15+ metres of garden to use for test firing, and that's enough to zero the sights for windage, but it's only just far enough to show the hop is having any effect - you'll need 40+ metres to actually get it corrected for the game. Best of luck though!2 points -

Can my new gun use 11.1v lipos?
The_Lord_Poncho and one other reacted to pyromancer6 for a topic
If you want a little more out of your AEG but don't want to run the risk of 11.1v, try a 9.9V LiFe. It's great for giving your pew a little bit more zip without worrying about as much heat and voltage going through the gun. However, considering it's a EMG CYMA (aka a platinum) it already has 13:1s inside and a nice little mosfet. It'll take fine to an 11.1v as my CYMA platinum SR-25 takes a 11.1v on DMR power no problem (it runs colder than my G36 and UTR does in fact, but that's also because they both have SHS high torques and they love shitting out heat), although on sustained full auto you do run a higher risk of shit going tits-up as you'll be firing fast enough to not notice a jam in time on full auto, meaning you could end up slamming a broken BB around your gearbox at mach-10 which tends to break shit (which happened to my G36 that was running at speed on full auto before I had the gears swapped out) Wankerguns are a fun novelty so long as you're not, well - a wanker with them. I normally only put my high-speed G36 on 11.1v when at the range when I want to wank out a little and show some of the newer guys some A10 minigun fire for a laugh. As long as the semi-auto is nice enough, and if you're running at crazy RPS on 11.1v with three-round burst programmed on your mosfet to stop accidental grenading of your gearbox I don't see the harm in it really. Just be reasonable and respect the other players and you should be good. Airsoft honour and morality aside: Yes - your CYMA EMG/Platinum will take an 11.1v no problem. Is it worth it? Eh. Try a 9.9v LiFe instead if you want a little more than a 7.4v without wanking too-bad.2 points -

"Modified Honey Badgers" in what way? Just slapped on a PEQ box (are they laser & LED, LED only or battery box?), a hand grip and a 552 RDS to be "tacticool" or in addition to the previous ergonomic mods, a comprehensive list of internal upgrades were made to give some semblance of justification for the price? "Canadian Colt M4 with scope, modified...450fps" Modified to make it a hot AEG that a buyer would have to go to further expense and/or effort to make it legal or modified to safe or semi-auto only for a DMR? I won't understand those who want to charge what looks like a huge markup worth but they won't be clear about what they're selling and itemise the "modified" bits to inspire any confidence. At face value, £2500 would be generous, never mind £5000.1 point

Ooh, I get what you mean! It's a solution, I guess, but man, that's doesn't seem too practical and, my opinion only, but it doesn't look good at all. Back to the BUIS, I run either PEQs or NGALs on three of my rifles, and have removed the irons off all of them. Airsoft guns have shitty ballistics. You can always use fall of shot as a guide.1 point

NGAL and Backup Sights?
LzChase reacted to Emergencychimps for a topic
There are the leaf back up irons that are designed for a peq 15, while they won't fit as well on a ngal as a peq15 they look pretty small and narrow, you might avoid splash. Or put your peq at the end of the rail and your irons the receiver side (has been seen). Irons are generally back up and last resort use, so better than none (especially on longer rifs). The unity mount for the T2 style has irons inbuilt.1 point -
True, the NGAL light is surprisingly bright, however I'm also going for looks, it's a "fun thing project" like you know, sticking a 27 liter aircraft engine in a car because it's a fun thing to do but not in any way needed. It's inspired by special forces rifles like CAG and DEVGRU use. They always have a torch since a real NGAL is an IR illuminator and lacks a visible torch1 point

Just reiterating others “Crazy money” and “value for money” are entirely contextual and very personal We have hobbies that involve playing games funded from our disposable income (ideally, otherwise that does become crazy money, or in the words of the wise Mr Micawber is the difference between happiness and misery) Airsoft does not need to cost much money, you just need some fairly inexpensive basics and some consumables, but there are those that spend high amounts on cosmetic looks, tiny little tweaks or both. Last night in a team chat, I was informed that “Those are expensive, dude” 1) He’s younger than me, and should have stopped saying dude last century 2) No shit Sherlock, and he doesn’t know the full expense I went to on the whole lot - but they are functional and will both contribute to ergonomics and potentially annoy ‘purists’. Money well spent to me, properly ‘crazy money’ to others1 point

A 75-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk. The Receptionist said, 'Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?' 'There's something wrong with my dick', he replied. The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that.' 'Why not, you asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said. The Receptionist replied; 'Now you have caused some needless embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private.' The man replied, 'You should not ask people questions in a roomful of strangers if the answer could embarrass anyone.' The man then decided to walk out, waited several minutes and then re-entered. The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, 'Yes??' 'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated loudly. The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. 'What is wrong with your ear, Sir?' 'I can't piss out of it,' he replied.1 point -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

Played at battlestations on Sunday. Always a good site with decent marshals and always trying to find new games to spin. Mostly decent day, a few hit taking issues over the day especially in the afternoon when a fresh faced group of rentals in shorts and t shirts rocked up. Had a moment or 2 though of 'hmmm is someone shooting hot' after a mate had their mesh lower face pro dented by a bb and then I had the flip up lense protector on my rifle cracked right through. But a decent day all in. Back into the woods in webbing and hat instead of plate carrier and helmet in a couple of weeks.1 point -

Red Dots - Sig Romeo 5 or Vortex Sparc?
C-Diddy reacted to Emergencychimps for a topic
I'd avoid the SPARC. It's a great optic and does its job well, plus using a standard battery is nice. However, it can't be transferred to other mounts, it's a fixed height and that that. The crossfire (and previously mentioned Holosun) can be put onto other mounts. This isn't a huge thing, but once you've used a slightly higher mount (I use a 1.93 scalar clone) it's much more comfortable and frankly, is the cool modern look. Impressions don't seem to be anything anymore, but I'd also encourage thinking about it. I've been very impressed with the holy warrior range of red dots, their eotech clones are the best on the market and their T2 clones are fantastic (especially for the money). If money is no issue, looks aren't a concern etc then check out the Holosun aems (tactical kit stock them).1 point -

I’ve got a Holosun 403B that I’m very pleased with. The auto-wake was something I really wanted as a feature so I didn’t have to remember to turn it off, and in dark CQB environments the battery seems to be lasting an eternity. It’s a sharp dot, easily dimmable for very dark environments, but super bright for the height of summer and doesn’t go squiggly when it is bright. There’s no parallax past 5m, and what there is is so tiny it’s irrelevant. The downsides are that there’s no thread for a protective filter/cap (the 50x series has that) so you’ll have to get a push on one from Patrolbase, and although you’ll only have to do it maybe once a year changing the battery requires an included tool. All in all I love it, and the only thing I’d have bought instead would have been a 50x from them.1 point

Built up a new nozzle tonight to replace the TM one with the broken screw and G&P NPAS that was adjusting its self (and trying to get me banned from the local site Luckily discovered testing at home!) Set up was the same for all gasses. Minimal Joule creep with 0.28 > 0.32g BBs (lighter ones omitted for clarity) 19DegC, 0.32g BBs from a Guns Modify nozzle / valve / valve spring. G&P adjustable valve stopper - three holes for the cross-nozzle screw to go through at different points so it moves the valve forward or back a set amount. MID setting: Nuprol White 265 - 272fps ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) 270 - 276fps So the low power gas is only ~5fps less. As it was close to the limit I changed it to the LOW setting and repeated. ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) 230 - 233fps Nuprol Red 235 - 240fps Bit too low (equivalent to 295fps on a 0.20g) but fine for CQB. So “Nuprol super power gas50000!!!!” only added ~6fps. iT wIlL kiLl Ur GuNz!!! 😂 Might try the mid setting with a cut down valve spring, or just wait for the weather to cool down 😁 According to Vorsk the V6 gas is equivalent to ASG Ultrair, V8 and V12 both higher pressure. Abbey 144a might be a handy one for warmer days when I don’t want to disassemble the nozzle in the safezone. What are others running and do they notice much difference in FPS?1 point

Also, worth checking Patrol Base in the run to Xmas, they usually have an AK variant in their sales. Last year it was a Cyma AK74SU, cm045a. For £145. Obviously quite a way off yet though. I've added a cyma AK recognition chart. It can be found by googling 'cyma ak models' and image search. They make loads of variants, just not that much variety in stock in the UK. Hope that helps, happy pewing!1 point
