Been a few threads getting shirty recently. Perhaps it's the hot weather, perhaps economic and sociological pressues are toblame for the apparent increase in short tempers, or perhaps you're all a bunch of mewling manbabies. Just to bring us back to our usual chilled, civil discussions, because I generally really enjoy this forum, I I would like to tell you that I think you are all cancerous blobfish prolapses, that I wouldn't put out with a shovel if you were on fire. ❤️ Don't make this go all serious. Took my VFC G3 GBBR out for the first time yesterday. Within seconds of the whistle blowing for the start of the first game I had two kills. I absolutely looooove this pew pew. Great day all over all. My friend took out his new Vorsk VPM1, and it's crazy fun, very accurate with surprising range for a compact SMG. Got shot in the balls again. Thankfully I've never wanted children. End of the day, after most people went home we messed around on the Attack Sense range. There's a competition running now, £1 for 3 goes, best time at the end of the month wins a free game day. I am not winning. 😁 I set a decent time, but my reflexes are not those of someone 30 years younger!3 points -

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering
RostokMcSpoons and one other reacted to ak2m4 for a topic
What frustrated me hugely in the past was 99% of motors on a website would give the RPM but never the voltage. Some older spec pdfs used 8.4v nimh. In the end I actually purchased a chrono rotation thingy (the name escapes me now) so I could measure motors and find out the rpm. I switched to the XT motors with the little plastic fan on due to the high number of failures with Rocket and ZCI motors when used with 11.1v. Heat is indeed a killer. The brushes on the XT contain a little more silver than normal apparently, not sure if that really affects anything. Oh ask a Chinese motor factory that you want a "something TPA" motor, they won't have a clue what you're talking about 🙂 Do DE have vents in the motor grip base plate?2 points -

And to round out this thread, it has arrived. Good service from BBG4L, shipped same day via Parcelforce 24, but crossed the weekend so only received today as for some reason they didn't come on Saturday (Parcelforce normally always deliver at 9am on a Sat morning and get me out of bed, but not this time it seems). Checked out the boy's G36 first, way more solid than I was expecting for its budget price and all plastic build. Added bonus is a load of my existing 2S car LiPos will fit in the front stock so he's set for batteries for life. Hooked up a 1-point sling so he doesn't drop it on the first day, but to be honest it looks like it could take a tumble and shrug it off. He is smitten which is the main thing. Double Eagle next. First point of note is it seems they are supplying midcaps now instead of the advertised hicap mag (or at least they did in mine). Not sure if I consider that a pro or a con yet. Measured the buffer tube and ordered a couple of batteries from Vapextech, but managed to get a few test shots with one of my spare (but too big) batteries hanging out the back. Feels much more responsive than the rental guns I've used so far, whatever trigger lag there is is pretty imperceptible to me. No idea on accuracy or power til I get to a decent length range and my chrono arrives from China. Fit and finish is about right for the price, well screwed together aside from a couple of rattly catches and a bit of wobble in the stock, metal is pretty thin but then I'm not planning to hammer nails in with it and I have to lug it around all day. Ergonomics are really good, all very subjective but fits me better than any of the renters have so far. Not sure I'll be getting another game in until the end of the month now, so field testing will have to wait.2 points -

No no, that was just one I happened to have my eye on at the time. I ended up getting a second hand WE Night Hawk in silver. Performs adequately, but looks niiiice in its leather holster. For all the "Just get a TM" folks, I now have four, as I picked up a Desert Eagle yesterday too. HAPPY NOW? 🤣2 points -

KWA EVE-4 First Impressions
ak2m4 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
@ak2m4 It's a compatibility thing unfortunately. The PX02 is the closest metal-racked piston to the stock KWA in terms of dimensions (the GB is fractionally oversized to standard V2). It was a heartbreaking purchase - £30 for a piston delivered...😩 BUT it fits the GB perfectly - minimal lateral/vertical movement but moves freely on the rails. @zknightzero I would suggest the AOE version of the XT Piston head - the AoE needed correcting on my gun - I don't normally bother with AoE corrections in general, but this gun needed it. You might also have to shave the second to last tooth down for clearance - a couple of minutes with a file should sort it. Oh, and almost all of my guns use POM piston heads from AK2M4. Much prefer them to the aluminium types.1 point -

Gunboat Diplomat reacted to JVacation for a topic
@Gunboat Diplomat One thing I would recommend with the DE is checking the grub screw in the flash hider. Just loosen it up and then tighten it up again. Mine was stuck solid and had to be drilled out when I tried removing it after a year or so. Another thing to check is the screw in the bottom of the motor grip. Mine for some reason has had red loctite put on it (from factory or middleman shop). I have no idea how I am going to be able to remove that as it requires heat and I don't know how to heat it without melting the plastic. Otherwise than that they are really solid guns. They may need some additional work done on them in 2 years or so time depending on use but they are easy to work on and accept most stock parts.1 point -

ak2m4 reacted to zknightzero for a topic
Thanks for the update @ak2m4. I'm quite new to all of this, would you suggest another piston, head and motor from your site? I'd prefer to get it all from you rather than sourcing parts elsewhere.1 point -
Currently out of stock on the single oring aluminium piston heads - more arriving end of the week. Really Double O-ring piston heads aren't worth the added cost in reliability and bring nothing to the table. Will remove this from the website just reminded me. The POM-H piston heads with the Viton orings are currently the most requested / purchased right now so worth checking out Also I'm not sure about the Madbull PX02, generally a lot of retailers are pulling away from the wide rack design due to it causing scratches on the inside of cylinder. Not sure if that type of piston is a requirement for that KWA? £20+ for a wide-racked MIM piston doesn't make much sense to me unless it's a compatibility thing.1 point

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Today, the lad and I headed over to Dragon's Lair in Essex, a site that we visit 3 or 4 times a year at most. It is a small, heavily wooded site with lots of structures including a village, a fort and quite a few barricades. It has a rather decent and surprisingly large safe zone, with free tea and coffee available throughout the day, a basic site shop, provided by Airsoft Zone, and an in-house tech. We always take pizza when we play airsoft, mainly because it has become something of a ritual to do so, but also because most sites do not really cater for vegetarians. Today, we were very glad that we did as lunch was not available on site and it is quite a long way to anywhere that sells food. We were rather surprised at how few players were there today; we are used to there being around 100+, but only about 50 were present today, with fewer after lunch and as the afternoon wore on. One nice surprise was that finding that they now chrono using the BB weight that you will be using, rather than just using 0.20g BBs; I know that we can discuss whether chronoing serves any real purpose, other than providing a moderately reassuring ritual, but this seemed like a significant step forward. As usual, the games were fairly short, simple, straightforward and good fun; having fewer players present helped as the site can feel a bit "wall to wall" when it is busy. We played a good variety of relatively simple games throughout the day, with the first one being particularly memorable as I ended up behind the opposing (attacking) team and had great fun crawling around in a heavily overgrown ditch taking players out and hearing them complaining about being shot by their own team. In the reverse of that game, we completed the objectives in about 30 minutes, whereas the other team had taken nearly an hour. Other games played included a push the flag game, last man standing in the village and frozen (when you are hit, you have to remain still and can only be released by someone on your own team shooting you). Overall, it was a good, fun day. The games played worked well with the numbers and the marshalling was on point; the teams were rebalanced a couple of times in the afternoon as player numbers decreased. Weapons used: Me: CA HK33 CA HK53 Milbro M1911 Classic CO2 The lad: E&L AKS74U CYMA AK105 ASG XP18 Commander CO2 That is really pathetic; it is supposed to be fun. One site that we play at makes a point of mentioning in the safety brief that, if you lay hands on another player in anger, they will support the 'victim' if they want the police involved. It is one of the best sites that I know for player behaviour.1 point -

Hot day yesterday at AirsoftGB but a good day, nonetheless. I took my newly repaired CM16 Carbine (thanks to @andydrgfor fixing it up) and it shot like a dream all day. Some great kills with that! Some unusual gameplay thanks to a Juggernaut in play who switched teams when taken out by a grenade or melee kill and that added another level to the day. Numbers dwindled as the day went on and I didn't make the last game myself due to feeling a little rough but it was a good natured day with mostly good hit taking, and very well run by the Marshall team.1 point -
