Are you running an 11.1v battery? If so it is most likely that you have run into premature engagement (look it up for a better explanation) but basically with a weak spring and a big battery/fast motor and gears, the piston doesn't reset fast enough so the gears catch on the piston rack part way down. If this isn't the case then it could realistically be pretty much anything that locked up the gearbox.

I will make myself unpopular here and say that the TM P90 is not worth it at all any more. It is very outdated and the CYMA/Cybergun P90s are a direct copy for half the price with a better quality body. The problems I have with the TM is the body is creaky even compared to all the other cheap P90s, it has to be one of the worst. The TM/CYMA gearboxes use 6mm bushings which are fine but small by modern standards, but the spur gear sits on a proprietary oval bushing. I think guarder make a set of aftermarket bushings that have this shape but they are hard to find a and stupidly expensive. Bushings don't often need replacing, but these are relatively soft for both TM and CYMA and you can run into isuues trying to shim aftermarket gears on the stock bushings. The cut-off levers aren't very strong for both of these and wear quite quickly over time especially with high ROF builds, the trigger switches are fine but nothing special. These also don't have a quick change spring, not the end of the world but really by now it should be a standard feature especially if you are paying the kind of money the TM is listed at. The internals are pretty low spec and outdated. plastic rack piston and head, no bearing on piston head or spring guide and brass or aluminium cylinder. The gears are fine but nothing special. I have held and fired the Krytac but don't won one and if you want the best build quality one out there then it is the one to go for, all the other P90s feel like plastic toys compared to it, however it is expensive and not completely standard inside and the stock internals can have problems with overspin at UK power limits. It does have a mag cut off which is nice. Same with the Nov one, I have tried someone elses at a field. Externally it is the same quality as a CYMA and nothing special apart from the redesigned front end and trigger but that is all preference. It shoots pretty well for a stock gun, nice and snappy but the trigger still feels like an airsoft P90 trigger and isn't as nice as the Krytac in my opinion. It might be a bit overpriced compared to doing everything yourself but not an awful choice if you like the look of it. G&G have a really nice body to them, standard bushings on all the gears and quick change spring. the newer ones have their mosfet installed, the internals are ok on them but are pricey for what they are. The Double Bell P90 is a wolf in sheep's clothing and really is one to consider. The internals are the best of the bunch apart form the Krytac/Nov ones. They have a full steel rack lightweight piston, aluminium double o'ring piston head and bearing, stainless steel cylinder, decent cylinder head, 8mm bearings on all gears and a quick change spring. The motor is still ferrite magnets but is much snappier than the TM or CYMA, the wiring is all fine but unfortunately no mosfet as standard. The gears are nice and hard and come with a delayer chip already installed. The only thing internally that lets it down is the lack of o'ring on the nozzle but very few stock guns have that and it hasn't been a problem on any of mine so far. The only thing that lets the Double Bell down is the externals. The body isn't quite as good as the CYMA, it has some flashing internally (doesn't really matter and unlikely to even notice unless you take it to pieces) but it feels slightly more plasticy on the outside, not by a huge margin but worth noting. Compared to the TM I would say it is on par if not better, the TM plastic feels harder and almost shiny compared to the others but also a bit more flimsy. The biggest drawback is that the Double Bell comes with a plastic upper receiver, this is what completely changes the feel of the gun and understandably turns some people off it straight away. If there was an easy way to just buy CYMA upper P90 receivers I would do it in a heart beat as then you would have basically the ultimate budget P90. I have just received the two Perun P90 mosfets that I ordered and will be installing one in one of my Double Bells and then one in my CYMA with a Double Bell Gearbox swap, I currently have one with a hacked Perun ETU++ and that works ok but was a right pain to set up and you can't get a two stage trigger working with it because of how the switches interact with each other so it s just permanently locked to semi. Hopefully the new dedicated mosfets should make everything better and much easier but I will have to see after installing them. These Mosfets do cost £100 each though so it is worth keeping that in mind if you are thinking about doing serious upgrades. P90 mags are hit and miss and can suck. Sometime the highcaps are great and you can feed a whole mag from one wind, other times they dont feed right or you have to take them off and wind them again part way through; at least they don't rattle like normal highcaps. The midcaps are meh at best, the cyma ones that are 70 rounds are ok but terrible capacity and dont feed well with high rof builds, the TM ones again have terrible capacity for their size but in a stock TM they feed fine but that isn't saying much. I haven't managed to find any MAG branded 170 round midcaps in stock for a reasonable price including shipping anywhere over the last couple of years, they are what people rave about being the gold standard of P90 midcaps. The Krytac mags are probably fine, but at £30 each they can fuck off I am not paying that. I run with a heretical M4 adapter that I designed so it sits like an Bren gun. This obviously has drawbacks of being able to use any kind of sight inline with the bore, but it allows me to use good quality M4 midcaps to keep up with high ROF and they are a much better package for carrying on a chest rig. It gets lots of stares and comments and is very decisive but does work wonderfully.

Just that we assumed from your excellent English that you were in the UK with our 2.5J / 1.3J auto limits. We have very different ideas on what constitutes "cheaper end" No idea, they do claim to have short stroked 13:1 gear in other models, and a decent neodymium motor in the AT-NY06 so on 11.1V it could very well have prematurely engaged. Alternatively it was just one of those freak incidents where the spring ended up fully compressed and the motor stalled out and couldn't pull it further - although with that motor and 11.1V that doesn't seem likely.

What brand was the M120? Was it stock? What FPS / Joules were you getting with the M120? Were you running it as a DMR? as a M120 should push you way over the legal limit As @Terry_Rist said most likely the motor is spinning the gears too fast for the sp90 spring to cope. Moving to a 7.4v battery should fix the issue but seems like you've perhaps got some fps issues. Anyone remember if Arcturus short-stroke their gears on these cheaper end models?

I've probably been meaning to go to Ironsight for 8+ years or so if I'm remembering correctly and actually got around to it yesterday. When I was walking in to chrono and saw a kid coming the other way wearing a Dye mask, beanie only partially on his head like a nipple and super short AR with a Supreme sticker on the stock I said in my head 'oh no' when I noticed the HPA filling stations right after. Luckily with the large majority of the site not having a roof over it it's not actually conducive to try-hard sweats shooting their hoses from the hip at all, but it is the only site I've personally been to that has an air compressor setup available for all customers to use so it's only natural it'll attract HPA users (which don't all look like hype beats fortunately). The things I really care about these days: -Car park is really close to the road and not an off-road experience bundled in with the skirmish ticket 👍 -Toilet block one of the very best I've seen, clearly is actually maintained and cleaned and isn't 25 years old. -Safe zone/s well covered with more table space than was even needed (no idea if player count was lower than normal admittedly), though a definite shortage of chairs to go along with the tables overall. -Safety brief wasn't tooo long, just right really. Game briefs were super quick which was nice in a way but maybe could be just a tad longer for some clarity. -Unfortunately I didn't partake in the pizza that's on offer so I can't comment. The shop is fairly nice inside, not a ton of actual airsoft product but I don't go to sites for that stuff anyway. Seemed to have enough in terms of food/snacks, drinks and consumables which is the main thing. Personally I only had good experiences with hit taking but I also heard the most shouting and arguing I think I've ever been witness to, though I get the feeling an awful lot of it was the result of less than 3-4 particularly large 40+ man-children (the one female playing and all the actual kids seemed really good). It made me laugh (inside) when one routinely confrontational cheat caller proceeded to embarrass himself in play, then when shot walk back past me and whisper "psst, there's one right in xyz location" like what the actual fuck mate.. I've never been anywhere where dead men talking was allowed; the classically ironic hypocrisy of it 🙄 The first game split the site in to 3 areas with unlimited attackers and 1-life defenders; really good overall. The game after lunch was a smidge stale-matey sometimes but I got to participate in some very fun attacks and holds of ground. Unfortunately just before lunch we got basically spawn camped for around an hour, one of my more disappointing experiences. Finished out with a pretty interesting little close range blast fest inside one of the tunnels and they even removed the block on automatic. Generally pretty good staff overall, nice little site.

Morning all, hope all are well. Just a quick hello to the group and how i got to where i am, in brief. Started like most, went to a few meets, got hooked then brought my first rif. An S&T M4, which was poo, gearbox was a mess, grease so old it was like concrete. Why not return you might ask, well i enjoy learning, fixing and rebuilding just as much as skirmish. So it began, now there isnt a great deal left from the orignal rif and a large hole in my bank account and apologies ahead, yes i turned the M4 in to a DMR, sorry, i was new and didnt know any better lol. However it is absolutely bad ass. Now i have a resonable collection M249 4 or 5 different M4's M40a5 M9 3 shotguns Highly modded M4 to DMR. The M40a5 was another noob buy, highly modded so snatched it up for £300, only to find it was dog ****, so i have now stripped, repaired, painted and rebuilt. Missing springs, paint in the working parts, just generally an unholy mess. The last missing spring will be installed today and testing begins. Hmmm, i intended that to be shorter ha. Thats me though, stupid purchases but then loads of enjoyment repairing, improving and painting to rebuild and test. Just love that side of it. Thank you for reading. Doc

Yes, I am indeed running a 11.1 lipo battery. I was thinking that this might be the issue but since I don't have any other batteries I've been unable to test if this is the case. Yes the m120 was stock, and I'm getting around 375ish fps with .25 bbs which is around 1.6 - 1.7 joules (and where I live most fields have a 1.7 joule limit for automatic guns). Since I live in Sweden the laws are very loose. It's technically legal to run up to a 10 joule airsoft gun and 3 joule if it's automatic. What makes you think I've perhaps got fps issues?

It takes standard nubs and buckings but the unit itself is not a standard m4 hop and there is no aftermarket upgraded chambers. The barrel is also aeg standard if you want to upgrade. Also for the FPS there are 3 settings on the spring guide so you should be able to increase it slightly. Its really easy and only needs one pin at the back of the gearbox to be removed.

Can't speak for the Revenger, but I have had their Predator pants (mk1) for about 6 years and they're still holding up fine, no major cuts or anything, no discoloration, just the stretchy parts around the knees that lost some of their elasticity.

I use Nuprol 1.0 duster gas, it is the same power as the recommended abbey 144a gas but it has a longer nozzle that fits the FNX without an adapter. Lots of people use green gas with no issues in the FNX too and the majority of those nozzles reach the valve too (ASG ultra air and WE Green Gas too).

There's no such thing as upgrading a TM GBBP. You put a metal kit on it and then spend loads more money, desperately trying to get it to perform almost as good as it does out of the box.

I recommend asg ultra air or vorsk v6 for the fnx, the nozzles on the cans are long enough to get past the base plates 👍

So an update, over the past couple of months, I've slowly sanded off the original varnish and just about finished recoating. I used 3x coats of water based wood stain (Dark Walnut), then 3x coats of Danish oil. I picked up a repro butt plate and tarnished with some salt & vinegar, it's not perfect fit, but better than the metal one it comes with. Happy enough with it, it's far from perfect, but then that adds a bit of character 🙂 Original vs real steel Sanded Reoiled Butt plate

I've got a Sun project m40a1. It's shooting just over 1 joule. It's built like an asahi or a shoe, ie like a cricket bat. There's no spares available, I don't play anywhere where there are "sniper" rules, and I've got fallout kit I want to use at a site in a mine. I've rebuilt the hop, and I feel it needs to be used. Unless someone's got serious objections or is desperate for spares, the work starts tomorrow. (Properly, with actual tools and a lathe) Unsure whether to go for the full cut down look, or build more of an actual rifle. Before picture.
