Really, that's a pretty divisive statement, you think the whole km thing has just happened ?, the shit he's been dealing in has been going on for years, & people (& sites) have just had enough of it, it ruins gamedays & potentially gives the game a bad name. No one here tells anyone what or who they should like or dislike, consider it to be more like a "review", essentially good advice as what to expect from a product/site/person. But what would you know, by your own admission your new to Airsoft & probably more of a cnut than most 😏 (your words not mine😜)6 points

Or putting his pistol (doubtless shooting hot) directly on the back of someone's head, with his finger on the trigger. Or shooting dead players standing at their own respawn in the face, deliberately, because they were talking to each other, and "dead men don't talk". He must have superhuman[*] hearing to tell what they were saying from 25-30m away. Or... (and so on). [*] Of course, his real superpower is to be able to start fights when he's not even present.4 points

the aim of pointing out the negative aspects of the KM persona aren't aimed at silencing, more helping inform that he's a character who might not be the best role model for starting out in the sport. yes indeed, i know there are various accusations of km's actions that are somewhat apocryphal in origin, whilst i assume they must have started from somewhere especially with respect to site bans (at least before that critical mass when places banned him on principle) i've never seen anything purporting to be true original sources for a lot of claims of his in-person conduct, not that i've gone looking for them tbf. what is evident from the content he publishes however, is a poor attitude and evidence of doctoring footage with false accusations, the latter of those isn't such a big deal if you go into it knowing that it's fiction, but the former is something that can be damaging especially for newer players who might gain a false impression on what this sport is like or how it should be approached (ie having some empathy for the guy on the receiving end of your righteous pewing). of course km is by no means alone in this respect, but he is the most extreme of the large airsoft channels in this regard. indeed, this community continually surprises me with its capacity to handle divisive topics then just move on, it's a breath of fresh air compared to most of the internet.4 points -

Played at Z-mart again last night and it's fair to say everyone had a ball. There were only 9 players so all the marshals joined in too, so after the first couple of infection games were out of the way and everyone had their bearings, we spent the rest of the night in a players v marshals format for all the games. It was a great atmosphere and while we all arrived in groups we fast just became a group of 14 people (head marshal included) that were just having a laugh and a pew on a Thursday night in an old Debenhams store. Games were fun, varied and fast-paced - which you'd expect from the numbers - turning all the lights off for the grab the objects game was a new one for me and was a real learning curve in torch usage, tracer fire was a sight to behold! Just in case anyone had any doubt with regard to eyepro, mine took a direct hit and I even watched the BB shatter! My Bolle glasses weren't expensive but they did their job perfectly. All in all, a great night, need to book my next visits to get my UKARA sorted out (t-minus 55 days - not that I'm countng 😉) and then I can get something to attach all these accessories I've been buying to.4 points

Unlike most on here I have played with him on my team (thankfully) twice now, and I can very firmly attest that he is indeed guilty as sin of all the accusations against him. Moreover, he absolutely definitely edits his videos to splice footage together from various times in the day, so not only is he a nasty piece of work (check out his racist rants) he is a fraud and a crap player as well. Plus he has a face only a mother can love....3 points -

Yes to the G36C. Solid gearbox, QC spring, decent iron sights, I find it works better than an M4 with a full-face mask, especially if you're comparing optic-vs-optic, and worst case you can fold the stock. V3 triggers aren't great, but you get used to them. Against that, you can fit something like a Perun AB++ without even opening the gearbox.2 points

Agree, if your going an aru style loadout, a g36c fits almost everything & while they're not everyone's cup of tea, it's a very sturdy platform & don't think I've ever heard anything bad about any of the brands. To be fair, most platforms have been used by various plod forces, I even remember when the City Of London Police had Steyr Aug A2's, so lots of options.2 points

certainly i can think of a number of examples of poor sportsmanship from his vids, although not the examples you've listed (admittedly i'm not exactly a regular follower of his content these days) the deliberate headshots i'm not entirely sure on, insofar as i can see how the "reticle" on the scope cam is almost certainly fictitious and i can see how that could be easily be edited to give the impression of intentional headshots. that said, even if we assume the best (that he's never intentionally aimed for headshots outside the widely recognized acceptable cases) the impression that he does is enough to set a poor example for people to follow, especially when backed up with the ol' "tell em to wear face pro" argument trotted out like disliking pain is some sort of character flaw. yep, that's exactly the sort of thing i mean when i say poor sportsmanship. yes if someone fails to acknowledge a hit then they're fair game for little further persuasion, but that example went well beyond the point where a reasonable person would see that they weren't playing and the only course of action is either to move on, or get the marshalling team involved. tbh, i don't really see that as particularly egregious given how well known it is that airsoft youtubers do this, as i said before if you know it's just a fiction spun to tell a good story then that's not a problem (hence why every other airsoft youtuber gets a pass on it). ofc if you're new to the sport or perhaps looking to start, it's not ideal to have a false impression on what this hobby is like. sadly "a fun days airsofting, everyone played fair, don't remember if we won or not" whilst thoroughly enjoyable in the real world isn't going to get the clicks like "airsoft cheetar gets 360noscoped irl by a 500fps stealth sniper [instant karma] [he regretted it]". however that is perhaps more concerning. yes that's another strong point for his detrimental effect on the hobby, the last thing we need is for the hobby to be tarred with that brush.2 points -
Best pistol under £100
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to Akuma121 for a topic
I can't vouch for it personally just yet (Hurry up the 25th!) but the AAP-01 seems like a great choice for a decently well performing pistol, I managed to snag one for cheap but you'll often see them going for £80-100 on here usually with an extra mag or two. Personally I'd avoid all the ones with pre-upgraded stuff in them, never worth trusting other people's tech skills after all the "Fully upgraded" or "Upgraded" guns I've seen and sometimes bought. I can however vouch for what other people are saying about TM Glocks. I used to own a TM G17 back when I started the hobby and it was by far one of my favourite pistols (In fact I've reached out to my mate who I sold mine to a few years ago to see if I can buy it back after my AAP-01 gave me some nostalgia about it). Obviously biggest problem is making sure you take care of them by using the correct gas throughout the year but honestly they're great pistols.2 points -
And runs the risk of attracting people who are only happy if they're winning some unnecessarily provoked conflict, whether it's during the very silly game of hide-and-seek with toy guns, or the even sillier pastime of discussing it. Me, I prefer to avoid that sort of drama, and it's easily enough done with a choice of site, or a few clicks.2 points

Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to MandalShArK for a topic
Not the answer you want but.. I've been playing for 24 years, seen and used many Pistols over my time and by far the best you can get for the UK is a TM. I would save up and buy a TM p226 (used to own, wish I didn't sell) , Glock or even the USP 9mm (I have this, its gawjus). You cant beat a TM for its reliability and ability to run in the cold, and even the lower power gas is perfectly reasonable, we had it for many years before green gas was a thing. Also best thing about some TM models is the amount of custom parts you can get for them if you wish to upgrade or run a metal slide.2 points -

@Dobbin66 Glad you had a good time! Like who and what you want! Don't be swayed or silenced by the so called many they are often just the loudest, oldest or most influential in their clique's. Listen to all but think and decide for yourself what is slander and what holds truth, there's always a little of each to every argument. If you take a position express yourself regardless of the general consensus and implied stigmas, you may be opposed but most will not hold disdain from one thread to another and it's worth being here as the knowledge and experience is high. Hope you enjoy your time here and in your next game, regardless of whose on your team!2 points -
Airsoft Defence Information Sheet for public transport inspections
John_W and one other reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
The VCRA and UKARA have nothing to do with owning a rif, just sale, manufacture and importing. Just keep them out of sight and unloaded. If you are stopped by police just be polite, courteous and if they do ask you to open the bags explain what you're carrying, why and that you're happy to, but to do the search somewhere out of view from the public Remember, with any interaction with law enforcement will have a worse outcome if you fail the attitude test. Tuat being said I've been playing since 2004 and have never had any trouble using public transport, even travelling through central London2 points -

This seems sorta pointless? You'd lose the ability to employ backspin which would destroy most of the effective range of an airsoft pew. All you'd end up with is an over-powered nerf gun.2 points -

I took firearms to be armed police , in which case a G36 works. Or you could go for an MP5 . I've goy 2 JG ones and they are so much better than they have any right to be at the price they are. Mine get used in a woodland site and I never feel outgunned, also ideal for CQB.1 point

200 notes will get you a seriously better gun than the raider, even a g&g fanboy like me would admit it too, you’re spot on with the out priced analogy. Silly really as you logically wouldn’t up the price for something that’s been around for a good few years now and has nothing in the way of enhancements on its original form. Like I said I’d have a different rif altogether if I was looking now.1 point -

Aye, welcome back then. So what's wrong with the gearbox? Stock of airsoft toys is quite low but there are a few good budget manufacturers now including DoubleEagle, JG and SpecnaArms.1 point

You're right to be careful and prepared, but this seems a bit wordy. The VCRA isn't relevant at the point where you're stopped, and neither is it being a realistic imitation (we've seen a conviction for an orange day-glo half-sized springer). The offence is Firearms Act 1968, Section 19, public possession of an imitation firearm. All you need is a "reasonable excuse (the proof whereof lies on [you])". But you do need that. So what I would stress is to always be able to show where you're going with it and why, i.e. site information and ideally booking details. "Look at meeeee!" cosplayers are forever getting caught brandishing their bangers, and despite receiving forbidding fingerings from the Fuzz, they generally go on their way after Words of Advice.1 point

A lot of the sources for examples of him being a cunt are his own videos, eg deliberate head shots, ignoring the MED, using a hot gun in cqb and one that sticks out for me is the clip he posted of him shooting another player in the back from close range with a TAG round1 point -
Ahoy and welcome back. Is the gearbox actually cracked? G&Gs aren't particularly notorious for that. I also got a G36C (JG) as a backup, and have ended up using it more than anything else.1 point

Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Welcome to the asylum. I'm in the same situation as you with having to use public transport. When I first started I used a hard plastic rifle case for the guns but quickly found it drew unwanted attention so switched to a soft rifle bag which is less obvious. Believe me it quickly gets old having pissed up wankers thinking they're funny and original saying "hur hur, what you got in there, a gun?". The rest of my kit goes into either a small rucksack or holdall, again avoiding anything that looks too miliaryish. On thing I've found is that relying on public transport and carrying all your shit makes you think alot more abour what you actually need, compared to what's nice but not really needed This. For example I prefer shorter guns such as carbines and smgs so as much as I like the looks of some longer rifles such as the FAL or G3, they don't suit my playing style. When you go to your first game ask other players about guns or gear they're using that you like the look of, as Madhouse posted, airsofters love to show off and talk about their guns and kit. Ask nicely and they'll probably let you fire off a few rounds too1 point -

Here we have the evolution of my cheapie JG RPK bought off here from Hutt armouries few years ago. Iv had fun learning how to take this all part and work on it modernising it along the way. originally I was just going to replace the externals but straight away I could tell I’d need to upgrade the hop unit as the range was awful. things Iv replaced are JG Stock adaptor, LCT stock, CA upper and RS poly lower hand guard, pistol grip, LCT tactical selector, LCT drum magazine, TWI aluminium rails, combat union hop unit mapleaf macaron 50’ omega nub, CU air nozzle. I’ll upgrade the gearbox internals as and when they go. currently chrono’s 348-351 on 0.2s Lovely MG platform, lighter and more manoeuvrable than a belt fed.1 point -
