  2. So, had a night outdoors game yesterday, the AK performed flawlessly, the range with the MR-Hop is ludicrous on 0.28s, and it cycles smooth as silk. The AAP01 with the new rubber and 0.3s was used as a sniper rifle, haven't used full auto in anger yet and in the last game it removed the whole attacking team. On the other hand, a friend's Titan decided to shit the bed and randomly start firing for no fucking reason I mocked him all night..

  5. So he joined the forum about two weeks ago, and his only post is this shite advert? I feel we should have a minimum post count before being able to advertise and if they just post up random crap to get to the minimum number, the posts get deleted (I’ve had a bad day at work and am a tad grumpy ✌️)

  7. i must confess i do think the g36's reputation has been somewhat tarnished by its use as a rental gun. although tbf there are a lot of guns people don't like "because they're plastic" regardless of wether or not it's realistic for them to be such.

    THE TM MWS thread

Right, grab a cuppa as this is a long one with charts and graphs! So, having found that my current MWS set up was less than consistent on FPS I decided to play about with the parts I had to find the best (ie most consistent) set up available. Quick Notes: RA Black NPAS - Lose fit in TM nozzle, very lose fit in Angry Gun nozzle (probable source of inconsistency) Requires safety-pin to stop it rotating while using special tool to wind in or out. Hard to see in nozzle when adjusting. Angry Gun adjustable valve - Good fit in Angry Gun nozzle, was too large to fit in TM nozzle. Had a drop of superglue added to rear of grub screw to prevent it unscrewing and flying out the barrel! It was a good tight fit in the screw threads so unlikely. Easy to adjust with allen key, nozzle marked "+ more / - less" on the nozzle to aid adjustment RA Silver NPAS - Had been sanded around circumference to fit smoothly in TM nozzle, was a bit lose in Angry Gun. Easier to see when adjusting it, again it requires safety-pin to stop it rotating while using special tool to wind in or out. Things I did not change: Nuprol Green Gas / v2 MWS magazine, unmodified / 0.28g G&G BBs. Modify Tan Bucking / Laylax hop arm / Crazy Jet 250mm barrel. G&P highspeed buffer / SixG HSB / std recoil spring. Xcoretech X3200 Chrono The weather, sunny 22deg C. All tests conducted out of direct sunlight Dynamic Precision green nozzle cup (moved between test setups) Magazine given a 10s charge, left for 30mins. Given a 4s top-up and left for 5mins between tests What I changed: Initially I used the Dynamic Precision lightweight bolt for tests #1 and #2 Test 1: Angry Gun Nozzle and valve, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring. (GREY plot) Test 2: TM stock nozzle, RA Silver NPAS, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring. (ORANGE plot) Test 3: TM Stock bolt with RA Silver NPAS, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring. (RED plot) Test 4: Dynamic Precision bolt, Angry Gun nozzle, Dynamic Precision nozzle spring, RA Black NPAS (this was conducted a couple of days ago, and kicked off the investigation, otherwise all the same) (BLACK plot) Results: Have a look at the two charts, both have the same data, but the scatter graph has the best-fit line added to aid in looking for the most consistent set up. The setup #3 was the most consistent, but changing to the DP bolt(#2) gave almost the same consistency but slightly higher FPS (maybe more gas efficient?) The one outlier at 305fps spoilt it somewhat so maybe over 20-35rds it might be just as good as #3? The TM bolt, due to the extra weight, gave more recoil, but probably at the expense of gas efficiency. I feel this is an acceptable trade-off as the action was still pretty snappy (thanks in part to the SixG HSB) and full auto was still fast enough. The DP lightweight piston probably saves a little gas and can eke out a few more rounds from a magazine but it will likely be marginal and at the expense of recoil felt (if you want low recoil and high RPS....get an AEG!) Conclusions: The TM Nozzle with the modified RA Silver NPAS seems to be the most consistent, it is likely that the bolt (TM or DP) has little bearing on the outcome in terms of FPS consistency. Recoil and gas efficiency is where these make a difference. The TM Nozzle with the RA Black NPAS (built for the MWS system) is a loser fit and will likely have a wider variance, but not as bad as the larger internal-bore Angry Gun nozzle! (I would guess it would be around the 17-19fps spread...maybe one day I'll check!) So, if you use Angry Gun parts...use the whole thing and don't change out valves/NPAS. Or better yet, if other experiences are to go by, just stick to TM! If you are sticking with TM nozzles try the RA Tech Silver NPAS and spend 5mins with some fine wet&dry carefully sanding the external diameter until it drops in and moves freely. If you can find a Black on that is a suitable alternative...oh and in both cases carry a safety pin in your tool box to adjust it

  10. I've just had to bin off the trigger lock on my M4 after replacing the fire selector (was broke, did need fixed) because, you know, "V2" is more of an aspiration than a specification. It does feel rather ropey, but then again...

  11. Grabbed a VIPER VX buckle-up plate carrier from a member here a couple of weeks back. Used it on the woodland game on Sunday.. I have to say, it worked well.. Yes its not the same quality as my WAS RICAS or the Osprey Mk4 vests but you know what it worked well and I can't fault it... Used it with 3x7.62 Osprey sniper pouches to carry 6 mags on the front. It has a zipped pouch for your keys and other bits.. May just get a Viper Elite battle belt to match it up onto which I can Molle on more stuff!

G&P MOE repainted with graphite grey engine paint, Octarms 13" rail and over-barrel carbon fibre moderator. Camo Krylon stripped from the rest of it. Internally I have put in a non-wobbly spring guide and M105 spring (minus 1 coil!) to give me 292fps on 0.28g BBs. Still got the Titan basic and SHS gears. PEQ box for the battery as the MOE handguard was a nightmare and looking a bit old skool. Waiting on BCM rail covers in grey and maybe one of their hand stops if I can find one in the UK as US shops refuse to post due to ITAR regs 🙄

  16. Huh, so they do. That actually makes for a pretty compelling package: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/specna-arms-sa-h20-edge-2-0-aeg-rifle?pv=13217 But at £200, not at £350 plus fees for adding a bunch of stuff that you may or may not want, and subtracting the warranty.

    THE TM MWS thread

First game out with the MWS/Mini Urgi build, and what can say about this truly fantastic RIF that every other owner hasn't already said!? Apart from the fact it's all bloody true! 😁 I should of moved over to a GBBR a long time ago, and anyone on the fence reading this thread I urge you to take the plunge! The performance and consistency is incredible, and with a zero'd Vortex Crossfire it's so much fun to use. Taking out a guy who's using a HPA minigun, with a single shot is extremely satisfying... 😂 (skirmish fun times)

@GothicGhost i bet thats actually quite effective camo in use! Finally got around to assembling the G36C, on the whole very happy with the build, although i think im going to have to swap the X-ASR for a Pico AAB, the internal rollback noise of the gears to the anti reversal latch drives me mad on semi!! Of all the colours i feel the FDE on the mags is the least effective, its too bright i feel, ive got some good ol' Humbrol Dark brown (FDE) aerosol which il prop spritz them with as its such an awesome FDE in use. The whole layout of the gun colouring was to blend with myself / Pencott Greenzone at the rear of the gun, and wrapping the gun around trees/fortifications/dirt etc at the front end.

  23. Is it ineffective now? Can you clarify exactly what you mean by that? Are there side-to-side flex? Excessive slack before you get any tension on it? Does it not fire consistently when you pull it? Well, there's a can of worms. If you just want a bit more than stock, I'd go with a motor like this: https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/motors-parts/gp-16tpa-motor-long running on a 7.4V lipo. But many, many other options and opinions are available. You can go with a high speed motor, you can change the gears, but as above, once you open the gearbox, you can find yourself with no working gun pretty quickly. Without opening the gearbox, you can fit a tighter bore barrel which might (hop rubber and air seal allowing) give you a boost. ZCI offer good value for money, although the range is limited just now because of shipping issues. Fortunately, AK2M4 has just got some back in stock, https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/inner-barrels?manufacturer_filter=15 and I believe (but check yourself!) that your stock barrel is 229mm. Now, you can go longer as you have a suppressor, but you won't necessarily get any more power or accuracy from it. Really, no joke, barrel length just isn't that important in airsoft. Anything over 200mm is good for getting 350fps - I just got 374fps from a 229mm ZCI barrel, an M100 spring and a good air seal, and had to go down to an M90 spring to get it down to 340fps. I fit 50 or 60 degree Maple Leaf hop rubbers, but cheaper ones work as well. The best thing you can do for reliability is to not open the gearbox. If you do, I'd radius the front of the gearbox. You can also fit a sorbo pad, although I don't bother. Both are shown here: Once you're in there, you'll want to check the piston air seal and lube and/or stretch and/or replace the piston o-ring: YouTube and Google will help with that. You can also wire it for a mosfet while you're in there, which is a whole topic to itself. The only real reasons to go in there for maintenance purposes though are: check and improve the air seal if your fps is way down and you can't sort it from outside the gearbox; or if you suspect that your trigger contacts are badly worn and need replaced. Really though: if it ain't broke, don't fix it, or at least not until you have a working backup gun. What I did on my MP5K was to fit a very small rubber o-ring onto the fire selector, to pull the other side tight against the casing and engage it in the detents. I'm not sure what size, maybe 3mm ID x 1mm, I just pulled it from a box of assorted o-rings. The other thing that MP5s suffer from is sloppy hop units. I'm not sure if yours is set with rotating lever on top of it, or a foward-and-backwards slide. Either way, they're prone to moving: If you have a lever with that issue, I'd shim it out to make it a tight interference fit, or (quite seriously) get it set then tape it in place. If you have a slide-style adjuster, put a ruber O-ring around both it and the barrel, or cable tie it to the barrel, in order to hold it in place. And I'll say it again for luck: motor, barrel, hop rubber first. I would not open the gearbox until you have a backup gun ready.

A pair of old west guns. Ones an Schofield r hopped, the other started life as a boneyard .177 umarex pellet gun, covered in john wayne logos and with loads of writing all over it, fixed it, the accuracy was woeful, converted to airsoft, r hopped, refinished and just waiting for a pair of new homemade inlays to cure so I can replace the awful grip logos. Both guns are refinished by polishing then using chemical blackener, gives a real steel like finish.
