The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Not really, the seller is in the wrong here not the buyer. I have no interest in the military and wouldn't know the difference between that helmet and a mk1, so if I was in the market and liked the look of it I wouldn't have a problem buying it.3 points -

I remember when the first clones came out - AGM being one that sticks out as one of the better one. When i first started getting into it, i went to Hong Kong (i wouldve been about 12-13 or something) and we drove down Kwong Wah street in a taxi - stopping in traffic outside Guns N Guys and DenTrinity. Eyes lit up like a christmas tree.2 points -
Thank you for your perspective greatly appreciated.2 points

Important stuff in bold. ο»Ώο»Ώ You can buy a new AF-UK patch using the link in the top menu. They're due for dispatch this month (assuming no delays in production) The new official AF-UK patch has been going through some design iterations these past few months and also a lot of colour changes to get it where we're happy with it. Though the patches are still in production (now the full batch, rather than pre-production samples), I'm expecting them to be about some time this month. All of the 'pre-orders' will be dispatched at the same time as soon as possible and you can request a refund at any time up until this point. The price is Β£6 - up from Β£5 for the old patches They're also now PVC and available in two different sizes (and four colours). You'll get a marker/icon under your name for buying one A small reward for supporting the site, but also so that you know who to look out for (read avoid) in the safe zone. This icon might change a bit over time if it's becomes obnoxious (i.e. it might get a bit smaller or be moved elsewhere in your profile). https://airsoft-forums.uk/store/ That's about it really.1 point

Also, thereβs no point in putting a light bolt carrier in and then a stupidly heavy buffer as they will cancel each other out. I found the angry gun super recoil buffer (silver one) much too heavy. It gave a good kick, but it was a sluggish kick.1 point

Hello and welcome! So you are happy with your gun as it is? You are happy with your guns power? You are not allowed full auto. So your goal is to increase cycle speed, and reduce recoil? I can only comment on personal experience - a UAC Aluminium bolt with HSB Spacer will make for a very fast cycle. You may need to unscrew your buffer tube 1 or 2 turns to make the bolt catch reliable.1 point

Gunman is the closet to me followed by Absolute, then Red Alert. Each person has their favourite, but me personally, not going back to Absolute. Read alert has been great and I continue to go there. I like Gunman as it is very close. Best thing to do is to check them out and you make your own decisions.1 point

It's not even going to go to the weekend, the mp7 wins. the mp7 is not as much fun but it's just so compact.1 point -

Well, I can't say it's really good but at least you can see the target more brighter. But it's quite little. + resolution is nicer than expected And its monitor is very small, as you can see in my picture. It can show you up to 50~100m? distance in low visibility and its FOV is just 5'. I bought this for costume play, but if I was a normal airsoft player, I would buy an 'affordable real working nvgs' such as Yukon. Aimpoint + clone pvs141 point -

I know I shouldn't like the mp7 over the AK but as the AK is a mutant rather than traditional (I prefer the modern FSB type kit) I could be swayed. The AK is so dammed fun to shoot though. I am a sucker for TM, argh I should have stuck to HPA and not opened the Pandora's box that is gbb rifles. note to self, stop looking at the classifieds1 point -

After seeing so many Zenitco Handguard rails on 74uβs recently I felt compelled to remove mine! Happy with how itβs looking now. Also, my little M4 DSG thing has hit puberty, Vltor receiver and a low profile 7β handguard have given a much more aggressive look to what was intended to be a flashy, gaudy affair. The new Silver castle nut is the latest βshiny bit for the sake of itβ addition1 point -

And you had to build them yourself from a kit. I had an XM177 and a Sten Gun... I was a moderator on one of the forums when that kicked off. Got called a Nazi Bumboy because we weren't letting the conspiracy theorists spout crap and kept deleting their posts. That was around the same time as Dee Dee kicked off the One Joule furore.1 point

another one of the golden rule of airsoft, however many weeks a retailer says it'll take, well that's how many months it'll take.1 point -
I started playing Airsoft when the first AEG TM Mp5's and FAMAS's started to be available in the UK. So we are talking 1996ish. I remember the date because I had to lie about my age to get a springer glock from Rebel Troop in Reading. Airsoft back then was pretty comical. Everyone ran a springer except for maybe 1 person who could afford a famas. Very little camo on the whole and people wore those B&Q plastic goggles for protection. The first game I played was somewhere in Reading. Might have been Mapledurham, but its so long ago now. I remember the game well. I had 3 mags. Which meant in relative terms, I was the geardo. We all ran around and shot each other fairly close because not all BB guns back then had a hop. ( The good hop ones had gold barrels.. oooo fancy ) There was one guy there who had a SA80 Springer and because it had a scope on it. We all thought he was the pro'est thing on the planet. There as no chrono but everything else was much the same. I did it for a few weeks and honestly, it was kinda lame. Truly no one had AEG's or any real range back then. Everything good was crazy expensive. An Mp5 AEG back then was about Β£280 and we are talking 1996. I dropped out for a few years and picked it back up again in about 2001/2. Again went to Rebel Troop and bought a TM M4. 1 Spare Mag, a TN barrel and a silencer cover. Back then people really bigged up the properties of tightbores. Ran it for a couple of games. Sent it to Airsoft Armouries for a power upgrade. It came back and had been modded to take a 9.6 3000 battery in a bag on the stock. ( Ghetto ) From there I played with the same gun for a long time. Still back them no one chrono'd and the rules of airsoft where kind of fluffy from site to site. I finally started going to Stirling Airsoft and they were the best days ever. No real worries about safety or FPS, and no one got hurt as it was still quite a small community. About a year after i got my gun back from AA, it was chrono'd at a game and was running 420fps. Ah fun times. They still let me play at FireFight on that day and just politely asked for me to clip the spring. So how is that for old school airsoft?1 point
