  8. This forum doesn't have the bandwidth for me to even start listing all my mistakes that I'm STILL making BUT the main mistake I think was why the hell didn't I get into this much much sooner ? (say 5+ years ago and I might not be quite so crap at it - well that is just a theory but I'd still be $hite no doubt)

  9. The whole "dead men don't talk" rule... I agree with it 100% but no-one seems to follow it to the tee! Just because people aren't "moving their mouth" doesn't mean you can continue to bloody use your hands and point, using flash lights, nodding/shaking their head or start doing the god damn YMCA!

  15. Magnified sights are for snipers and posers. Red dot sights don't always turn themselves off when you put your gun away. Red dot sights will sometimes turn themselves off just before you REALLY need to aim at something. Some people have no sense of fun.

  17. Like most wish i'd had a better knowledge of brands and the differences. I did as much research as i could and didn't do too bad for first gun - ICS M4 (metal new one) still was only a few months until i bought another gun i use regularly and the ICS got put back in the box Wish i'd known my local site was shite and their shop run by a scammer (absolute airsoft) Apart from that most of it you just have to try and see for yourself, or take the time to research Perhaps that if you regularily go more than once a fortnight you end up with enough marks to looks like you got meth-rot or frequent the needle exchange

  20. Given the rate at which G&Gs sell, I hope that such a large amount of production of stock guns with MOSFETs combined with so many people using them might actually start to finally make a change in the rest of the AEG manufacturing world. We're long overdue for the likes of G&P, ICS and VFC to be including FETs in all their electric guns, but as per usual it takes about a decade for even small changes to happen. Maybe once a large portion of the market gets accustomed to the much improved trigger response and the other advantages these new G&Gs have, the manufacturers who don't include a FET will have to up their games to carry on making sales. Might well not happen but fingers crossed.

Yeah it is, shoots really well, very snappy trigger response. It is programmable like their badger (with the unit). Great little CQB, especially for the tight corners and cells at the Gaol It's nice and weighty to which I was surprised about considering the size

  32. Don't assume that if you step out around a 90 degree corner that the guy around it 1 metre away wont shoot you more than once. Got a bone bruise on my right pinky now. Stepped out, shot two guys in the chest and stood there like a lemon while they blasted me (both fired after I hit the 2nd guy), received 6 BBs straight to the pinky. I don't think they even felt their hits.

My custom K98 Spring conversion I was working on for a while before admitting defeat. Built from a clone VSR and a donor D-boys K98 with wood stock and metal parts. Looks the business, all the metalwork was chemically blued and it really looked great compared to the matt black of the D-boys. Have had positive comments on the look of the rifle from some people who really know their stuff with regards to ww2 weapons. Sadly away to a new owner now but hopefully he's managed to get it working reliably. Next up my M1 Garand AEG. A custom wood stock and metal parts kit on an M14 body, this thing is hefty! Originally that orange lacquer colour most wood kits are but I stripped it down and refinished it with a nice walnut stain and a lot of coats of boiled linseed oil. Fed from small 30rd shotgun mags, they're almost impossible to get a hold of but I managed to get 25 in a trade. :-) Fun for open days as when people see a wood stock rifle they think it'll be a single shot sniper and get surprised when I can pop in an M14 hi-cap and slam it on full auto with no MED as its at 350fps. Lol Currently under a full overhaul on this as it was drifting the shots to one side.

  38. Wise choice not being a sniper trust me I'd look at G&G over ICS as G&G are 99% TM compatible whereas some ICS parts are more bespoke (inside AND outside). If you're really set on ICS don't get the folding stock, get a crane or fixed stock for battery space in the back. I would definitely consider the previously mentioned G&G Raiders (short or long idk where you play) or if you want to splash out perhaps look at their top tech range.

    Noobs and Milsims

I had those kind of preconceptions about the criteria for Milsim, all fed by these being the supposed criteria for awesomeness the 'dyed in the wool' players at my local woodland sites have. They talk/boast about Milsim as if attending one was an achievement or select calling. Because they're the type that talk loudest and most often about milsim, it's their ideas of it that noobs like myself inherit. Then i looked into it online and it all seemed a lot less strict/immersive than this preconception. So I went to one and found the actual rules weren't any where near as strict, was just like any other skirmish but with more complicated game criteria, much longer game time and the site was larger. Games were really well thought out in stages, staff were friendly and great. It was just kind of like an extended super-skirmish. But still, all the people in my assigned squad (and majority there judging by their reactions) seemed to think that total immersion (the 2k of gucci gear and saluting etc as you put it lol) was an ethos that was simply an unwritten rule. Like it was the whole point of attending a Milsim and if you didn't subscribe to it then wtf are you doing here and not at a normal skirmish? No-one seemed interested in having fun or a laugh, just a stern faced mission. There was no 'rebel' team for the one i went to, just nato and pseudo-soviet. It sounds like a good way to cater to those noobs like me who like me only have a camo t-shirt, refuse to walk around in set-formation and don't know the latest nick-names of any of the pointless attacking/defending 'manouvers' that make no difference when performed by unfit/slow people who waste the advantage arguing about which one to use. I commend you for trying to make milsim more accessible, i'll certainly give your site a go and milsim another chance now i'm just about over the jaded urge to put such fools into an actual war-zone and see how many seconds it takes for their underpants to turn into the "correct camo scheme", well perhaps not totally over, i'm definitely grinning rather than grinding my teeth while ranting tho

  42. B6 needs a power source too. Try B6AC. B6 or B6AC is a great choice. There is no need to reduce impact shock on a normal AEG. Normally they come 400-430 fps, it's just in the UK where we are limited to 350. And v3 gearbox that's in the AUG is much stronger than a standard v2 (the one in an M4).

  45. UK stores recommend the 7.4 or 8.4v, US stores recommend 8.4v or 9.6v - and a few sites claim 11.1v compatibility. Going with: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/batteries-bbs-gas-chronographs-c5/batteries-c62/we-airsoft-europe-7-4v-2600mah-20c-crane-stock-lipo-p3197 http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/batteries-bbs-gas-chronographs-c5/batteries-c62/we-airsoft-europe-7-4v-1450mah-25c-crane-stock-lipo-p3193 Having just noticed cells are different in LiPOs. 17/07/2015: Well, I bought it from Land Warrior Airsoft yesterday and received it today. Price matched a £1 off too. While I have had no surprises, it is still managing to be lower quality than I expected (for £154 item manufactured outside the UK). I would not call anything I dislike about it 'unexpected' and I am quite happy with it - not fired yet. G&Gs manufacturing tolerances between the parts seems to be lax, but the parts themselves seem individually fine, small amount of rattle, but it is quite lightweight, and overall I don't have any regrets at this point. Well, except that I have foolishly not ordered a sling. Shame it does not have ambi mag release.

  46. Welcome to the forum mate! P90s can be brilliant depending on the brand but being a bull pup they shoot further than you think. If I wasn't trying to downsize my arsenal I'd probably have one of them myself. Like Chock pointed out - a pistol is a good choice for CQB. Even a cheap springer is enough at a push since most engagements can be very close range. I wouldn't recommend throwing a plastic knife at people though - most sites don't take too kindly to it and may see you banned for doing so.

  47. wow such a warm welcome thank you guys lots of really useful information there chock I'm swinging towards the p90 but I know there are hit and miss opinions on the high cap mags as they apparently tend to jam, but regarding equipment I don't plan to spend fortunes buying it I already use a good pair of boots for work so I use them for airsoft too, definitely going to be looking into BFG's as my local site aloes them to be used.

  48. All of us were noobs at some point - I still am tbh - I love being a noob coz there is $hit loads still to learn keep the learning curve steep or life can get boring Welcome to forum - kudos for knowing how to search - too many love be spoon fed you seem to know a little and more importantly want to learn more like most of us G36's are very popular in cqb & site rental guns but its all down to what suits you in the end in here it is a little more relaxed and more noob friendly than some mega ultra serious tech sites so less chance of getting flamed for asking dumb questions (my speciality dumb ar$e questions)

    Forum Rules

Anyone not cohering with these rules will face a suspension, ban or deletion of their account, this includes all posts and topics. The Guidelines • Search There is a search feature on this forum that will help you to find information that may have already been posted up. Often people experience very similar problems so the chances are that your question has already been answered is highly likely. Regulars to the forums will usually be aware if your question has already been answered several times before, so some may become annoyed you didn't use the search feature. There is a three character minimum length for searching, i.e. MP5, hpa, fps. Try using different search terms to get more results. • Giving advice Give solid advice only if you are sure what you are talking about. Don't mislead people as at best you are risking their money, and at worst, you are risking their safety. It's much better to say your only guessing and let others add to your answer than to lead the person into doing something wrong, and coming back and pointing the finger at you. • Post in the appropriate sub-forums If you want to chat about the latest Airsoft releases, do it in "Latest News". If you are new to the forums and want to ask a question, it might be best in the "Advice & Technical Help" forum. If you want to sell something, the "Classifieds" forums are the place to announce it. Basically, have a look at all the categories and post where you think your topic will be best suited. • Use descriptive titles for new topics Posting a topic with the title "Look here!", or "Please help", will not attract the attention of the users. If you use titles like "JG G36C gearbox problem", or "New gun from ICS!", more people will view your post and will know what they are about look at. Do not post titles in ALL CAPS, do not post misleading titles ("clickbait"). • Use good English and check your spelling! "1337-Speak" should also not be used on these boards. Nor should "text speak", use your word processing software to check for basic spelling and grammar errors, we aren't looking for the best English, but it is a lot easier to read a checked post, than another like, "hi, wel i av a prob wiv me gun u c nd i dnt no wot 2 do". Adding punctuation, full stops and commas make it easier to read. • Use Personal Mail (PM) Instead of posting in a Sales / Swaps topic which will cause it to 'bump' that topic just use your PM to communicate asking and answering questions. Sellers should be aware that any post, for whatever reason (especially answering questions or making a comment), that are before the 7 days is considered a bump. If you cannot receive PM then try deleting some old ones to free up space. • Caps lock Do not post in all Caps lock as it looks like you are shouting at somebody and is also very annoying to read. Topic and advert titles are to be in normal sentence case, not in all CAPITALS. • Don't post duplicate topics Multiple topics started about the same thing may be deleted, merged or moved at the moderators' or my discretion. If you intend on using the Classifieds forum you must read and follow the rules • Use "Smileys" effectively "Smileys" can be used in your forum posts. If you are joking about something, use them to help indicate that your statement was made humorously. They can be used to indicate your mood and show that something was not meant to be taken seriously. If you don't use them, people will assume you are being serious. Arguments have broken out before because of a misunderstood joke. • No Arguing Don't argue, if you feel offended by the comments of another user or believe a post is offensive, report it to the moderators, and they or I will be deal with it. Starting a fight may result in sanctions for all those involved. Our first decision is our final one! • Be nice to other forum users Treat others as you would like to be treated to yourself. There is absolutely no need to be abusive on these forums. If you are then your posts / topics will be edited or deleted, you may be given a warning, you may get your account suspended, and persistent offenders will be banned. • Post Spam Don't post just to raise your post count, there is no bonus in it, and moderators will become frustrated with the spam. Continued post spamming will result in a suitable sanction. • Be Constructive If you don't have something constructive to add to a thread then don't post at all. This applies especially in the "Classifieds" section, if you have something to say, PM it to the seller. Comments like "good luck with the sale" or "nice gun" are also not appreciated. Repeatedly ignoring these guidelines when you post, may lead to your posts or account being moderated/edited. If you intend on using the Classifieds forum you must read and follow the rules Forum Rules The following are rules that must be adhered to. Failure to follow these rules will attract the attention of the forum moderators. All moderators are friendly people and follow the rules laid out to them, they are there to enforce the forums rules, if you have a problem with a particular moderator please PM me "proffrink" personally. • Thread bashing/trolling There will be some posts or threads in the forum that you may not like. If you dislike somebody's thread or some of the people participating in the discussion simply don't bother reading or replying to it. Posting/trolling in it with the sole purpose of having it closed (bashing) will not be tolerated. • Off topic Try to stay close to the original topic of a certain thread as much as you can. If you wish to talk about something else make a new topic, do not use an existing one. Remember to use the search function as there may already be a topic for what you wish to talk about. • Spam Adding posts that contribute nothing to the conversation (spam) will be deleted or merged with a previous post. Do not "bump" your threads by posting irrelevant information or just "bump". It is spam and will be deleted. Continuous spamming will result in warning points being added to your account, a suspension, or a ban from the forums. • Advertising No one is to use their account to place advertisements in their signature, avatar or any posts. Anyone caught will have their account, including all posts and topics deleted. They may also be banned by IP depending on the seriousness of the offence. Retailers / shops are not to place any adverts in the Classifieds. A shop can create one topic in the Places to Buy section, using the shop name as a title, with a link to your website. • Duplicate Accounts Each user is only allowed one account. Duplicate accounts take up valuable system resources and annoy other forum users. It is very easy to spot duplicate accounts created or used by the same person, and any duplicate accounts found will be removed. Breaking the following rules will result in an immediate IP ban, deletion of account and removal of all posts and topics. • Absolutely NO References glorifying or inciting drug-misuse References glorifying or inciting criminal behaviour or violence Images or videos of graphic violence Images or videos of an adult or graphically sexual nature Images or videos that show drug misuse • Racial, Sexual and Religious Equality This site makes no discrimination between people of different race, gender or religion. Airsoft is a sport for all, and these forums reflect that. We welcome everyone except those who demonstrate intolerance toward others. • Illegal/Banned Subjects You cannot discuss anything that will help someone break the law in his or her locale. This means talking about: How to evade paying tax on imported goods How to make a semi-automatic replica shoot fully-automatic in a country that does not allow this feature How to make your own or modify pyrotechnics How to get restricted items past customs How to get restricted items if you are under-age Any other illegal activities If you intend on using the Classifieds forum you must read the and follow the rules The link is very accessible from within the Classifieds forum if you wish to read the rules at a later date. Thank you for reading!
