  1. In my opinion the best players tend to be the quieter people who've played for a while, they'll have a couple of mates possibly with them and have spent good money on decent kit but generally keep to themselves and aren't the loud obnoxious morons that fill so many sites. I don't like to generalise but in this instance I think it's just about right

  7. Those players that stick in my mind are the selfless ones .. those who do little things that make your day that much more enjoyable .. those that will lend you a spare mag, ammo or gas in the middle of a firefight to help you continue .. those who stay behind end of the day to help clean up a site, sweep up bb's, collect rubbish to put things back ... those who help noobs with gun problems or queries .... those who give you a sandwich or sausage roll when you have forgotten your lunch box or food .. these people are the ones who will always be the best players to me, the often unknown people will think of others before themselves in order for others to enjoy their day just a little bit extra.

  13. Worst Pratt I ever met was a guy who before every game would brief our team as to how to play that game to best effect. He spoke with assumed authority and oddly spoke with a hatred as if the other team were genuinely the enemy using phrases like "I don't want these cnuts to go home thinking they beat us" and stuff like that. Most of us ignored him but a lot of the younger guys would listen. He even refered to them to they're face as CANNON FODDER to allow the better players to be more effective. Seriously, this guy needs to find a girlfriend or something because airsoft is clearly taking up too much of his little life!!!

Well, that rule is a load of tosh. I could also see a guy who's shooting someone, but it's falling short, then calling over a marshal (who may be a good friend) and say "I could move up slightly and take him out, but I CBA to do so, can you do the tactical kill on him so I don't have to move my fat ass?"

  15. I quite often will shoot directly at cover people are behind with the intention of keeping their heads down. The sound of BBs hitting cover is a pretty guaranteed way to keep someone from peeking. I highly doubt that someone will have been fishing for hits with ricochets, they were more likely just trying to suppress you.

  17. If you have a look on UKTactical, you can get a molle adaptor for an IMI Holster, allowing you to mount the holster on your molle vest if you so wish. The holster also has a secure lock and can rotate into a position that suits you the best. 18. does it make any noise at all? if it makes a clicking sound, like it's trying to turn over but can't, check your motor isn't wired in backwards! the red contact on the motor should be pointing towards the front of the gun.

Sorry, but that is as just as retarded. A hit is a hit not a maybe, might be, could be if the leaf was a bit thinner or the branch was in a different place.

  20. Wow the quality from the camera is really good, ashamed to say it but it looks and sounds better than my old GoPro 2. 5 minutes in, some good footage! But you should cut the video down to 5 - 10 minutes long, keeping the best parts of the video.

  21. If you keep firing it on full auto, it'll wear out faster. Moving parts cycling and all that. I'm not sure it makes too much difference, but also firing full auto when empty means there's no bb in the chamber and less resistance for the piston. It'll thwack the front of the gearbox harder as a result. All gearboxes will crack eventually, so putting undue stress on them will only hasten it's departure! Just buy a battery dis-charger and save yourself the hassle: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-battery-discharger-new-version

  23. I'll just stroll up with my own one now. So this person is my friend, but he is a massive 'Codsofter' and some of his actions are truly uncalled for. One time, particularly memorable amongst his other individual acts of attempting to make history. He is rather heavy on the trigger, And 2000 rounds for 3 hours of play should be all you need, I normally leave with about 1000 left, which in turn I store at home, In the hope of one day playing at a different site in my area. So he uses up all of his 2000 BBs in less than 3 hours. He heavily sighs, Throws his hand up and walks to the marshall. who is at the time, fairly far behind the enemy lines. He approaches the marshall and asks for BBs, Upon being declined, The Marshall suggested that he could go for knife kills for the remainder of the round before he can sort out more ammo. So on the way back to our respawn, He knife-kills all of the enemies behind their cover. Literally using the marshall as an excuse to get behind them. Thankfully, The marshall; Upon hearing the complaints, Let all the players respawn where they were before the wrath of 'Codsofter' was unleashed upon them. In a rage-fuelled conversation with one of the victims later that day, I was informaed that he ran his finger across their throats while whispering "Knife Kill" ... I didn't know what to say. He brushed it off as a tactical decision that went wrong. Seriously?

    I'm a noob!

Hello and welcome I myself started alone many years ago, I was nervous almost scared my very first day .. But it was probably the most memorable day of my 11 years of airsoft, everybody bar 1 was friendly and helpful happy to accept newcomers to the sport .. The marshals and staff were amazing and very patient with me learning the ways of the force .. My advice is go along and get stuck in, if you are unsure just ask ..ask hundreds of questions and be mindful that there are some idiots about but ignore the egos Have fun !

Lolololololololol what a ridiculous rule! Wish people would stop trying to apply real steel logic to a plastic pellet game! Yes we like a degree of realism but there reaches a point where it gets silly. If a guy is out of range, ultimately you need quit camping and come out a get him! This sort of million mile range rule is there to protect the campers who ultimately sit in one spot lob shorting everyone else This rule makes me wanna kill myself lololololol

    My first time

I just thought I would, as a first timer put down my views of my very first skirmish. Sorry if it's not in the right area. I went along to the boot camp day at Skirmish Billericay. I had pre-booked a specked up M4 for myself which was supposed to be better than the standard M4 they rent out. The only real difference externally was the collapsible stock, fore grip and external battery that blocked the view down the iron sights. The insides were apparently upgraded as well but considering I can compare to anything else Im not a great judge. In reality the weapon was a pain in the a**e as I had to keep getting it fixed as it wasnt firing consistently and would only fire on in six on full auto. I also rented some webbing and an extra high cap magazine. The mags were ok and seemed up to the job and the webbing once loosened was ok but had seen a lot of use as you would expect from a rental set. There was over 100 people on the day and was a real mixed bunch and most of those I spoke to were very friendly there were two incidents during the day that made me think that some were taking it all a little too seriously and not taking into account that is was just a boot camp and not the final battle in Platoon. But considering the amount of testosterone and adrenaline I cant complain. The site itself was really good with five or six different areas but we only use 4 on the day. After a quick 5 min game of domination for the new people to get a feel for everything we set about a game of capture the flag with about 50 a side. About 15 mins in the cloud cover came over and it was almost dark, and the heavens opened and former hurricane Bertha said hello after about 10 mins of the deluge the marshals blew the whistle and sent us all back to the safe zone to wait it out. 45 mins later we were back out and the red team went on to win the game. I took a hit directly to the eye and was very thankful for my glasses and also took a hit directly to the plums (that one hurt). After lunch we had a game where the teams took turns to attack of defend the 4 sites we used and pick up TNT then plant them on the 3 bridges. The differences in the teams was quite obvious and unbalanced as the red team won all but one game all day where the reds would attack and gain an objective quite quickly, the blues would hold back a little more and this made the difference. We were then given two more shot games at the end of the day to make up for the time we lost in the morning. The downsides of the day for me were, that the gun I rented was pants and was a real let down in the CQB Im not that up on the makes but it would put me off buying and ICS rif, the marshals were not easy to see and some were ducking down and drawing fire. The seating area needs more cover from the elements. Apart from those I got soaked to the skin, I ache all over and have a giant red lump on my jaw that looks like a big red spot, but I dont care, I had fun and am now hooked. What a great day out, I will definitely be going again!

  31. I always empty the car out, take any used hardware... Gun, mags, etc and check, clean and stow. Do the same to my soft kit. Muse on what training I need to do throughout the week, work out if there's something I can design to make things easier/more fun... And by that time, the Mrs is telling me I need a shower... So I do that, and eat some food... I usually feel quite ambivalent... I don't usually get to play how I want to play. It's hard to find commitment so you can train with people, which leads to sloppy play... I have loads of fun anyway... But I'd have more fun if when... For example... Faced with a couple of guys, and the guy next to me runs out of ammo because he didn't admin reload... He drew his secondary, rather than fingering his rifle and kit, while staring at the ground. lol I usually pay with a guy that refuses to admin reload because it's too "real steel" and doesn't keep a mag in his pistol in case it falls out... Making it pretty useless. When it comes to clearing buildings... He'll stand outside the door, ripping open all sorts of loud velcro pouches trying to find it, while muttering... Then loudly inserts said mag and racks the (metal, loose, clacky) slide... Cheers chap, I didn't want to be quiet anyway...

No shooting on stairs is sensible. getting shot on the top of the head is unpleasant and there's the risk of trips and falls to consider. The Courthouse in Bristol has something similar but it's 'try to avoid shooting down at people on the stairs'.

  35. The good players(and marshals) are definitely the ones that make Airsoft as enjoyable as it is. The second game I played someone lent me his M4 for the day plus a stack of mags. The game after that another player lent me some mags and lent out some other kit to people who had forgotten bits and pieces. As much as I get pissed of by players blatantly not taking hits I definitely think the amount of players that just want to have a laugh and help people out outweigh them massively.

  36. You tend to meet the best sort of players in WW2 games. Last game I went to, our squad was trying to keep the right flank of the other British squad safe and they were taking fire from their left flank (where the Americans should have been). We therefore swung round to outflank the Germans on the right. A head pops out of a bush right by us and asks us very politely if we wouldn't mind not trying to outflank them as the German side had a few people drop out due to illness and gun malfunctions. a ). He could have taken us all out as we hadn't seen him. b ). In what other type of airsoft game would such a request be considered c ). Why can't the Americans stick to the plan?

  37. Before: Exited. Cant wait to get to site and catch up with everyone. See what the day brings and prepare for it. During: Amazed at the sheer proffesionalism of (nearly) every one. Amazed that I can still run around and laugh as if nobody is watching me! Amazed that I got shot in the Arrsse by someone wearing full camo and a Gimp Mask (refer to laughing above). Wont live that down on site for a long, long time!!! After: Tired; But elated. Sort kit out. Sort Self out. Sort scoff out. Listen to the girlfriend tell me about her day confined to barracks (not allowed out unaccompanied, because she scares the kids). Switch off and relax. Spent Saturday afternoon going through my 'gun' and kit bag to try and cut down on the amount of kit I takeout and ended up adding more!

  38. I have bad news for you - kit for SVD does not making SVD semi-auto. We are working for some small upgrade for SDiK - then it will be semi-auto. Upgrade kit will be sold separately - so, now you can buy kit, and next, when will be available - upgrade to semi-auto version. You can ask about whatever you need to know
