This is airsoft gossip based on nothing burger at the moment. Marui could rename it to gp17 and remove all of the trademarks and call it a day and/or pay licensing fee to the relevant company. Umarex doesn't do much regarding airsoft just outsources the manufacturing to third parties. Mainly VFC. The best second thing would be WE because lots of marui parts are interchangeable.4 points

It's amazing how some people don't understand how sources work. If a source asks for anonymity, you give them anonymity. It's journalism ethics 101 and there are legal protections around it. Also, someone in TAD posted a meme that made me literally laugh out loud. At work. In the office. People looked and thought I was weird, so now I'm sharing it with you4 points -

Just be careful, there’s at least one scammer who operates in this forum using wanted ads to target people. I’ve experienced it twice now where they’ve tried to sell me a Marui gen5 MOS. The red flag is that they want payment in bank transfer or PayPal F&F. Each time as well, they’ve used photos from Google. So reverse image searching will quickly tell you if it’s a scam.3 points -

Airsoft guns are air weapons?
ButcherBill and 2 others reacted to Tackle for a topic
Growing up on council estates in London, one thing that springs to mind was all the times we be in a 4ft square tower block lift, & from nowhere one of your mates would drop a monster banger etc on the floor at your feet, & everyone's trying to climb the shiny steel wall to get away from it 🤣, any wonder most of us have got tinnitus now🙉. Good times lol🧨💥🤯💣3 points -

As plain and white bread as they can come, a scruffy boneyard job, but I've spent money on the internals... PDI inner barrel. Snipetor r-hop patch + Modify flat bucking. GATE Titan v3. AK2M4 / XT brushless motor. ... and it runs very nicely on 7.4v (I've no 11.1v's that fit). I'm quite tempted to stick with 7.4v and pop in a lower ratio gear set 🤔 Edit: It was bought with the intention of using as a cold weather / winter sidearm, but as the upper is metal it weighs a ton and is tricky to use single handed.2 points

A tale as old as tiiiiiime.. I was mulling it over and wondering whether people with more expensive hobbies also have these same conversations; motorsport is the main one that comes to mind as something that's not too uncommon but very pricey to be involved in. From what little I know, even the cheapest forms will cost a person a fair bit more than being involved in airsoft and if you get in to really fast cars/bikes and racing them the costs go bonkers. Real firearm competition is probably a bit different in that there aren't that many types of weapons we can own in the UK and a normal person will be legally limited on how many firearms they can own, however the cost of ammo and range fees can be pretty high when you attend the different events. 'Airsoft' is such a blanket term that asking 'how much does it cost?' is literally the same as asking the length in centimetres of any given woven braid of cordage. There are folks who've got 1 or 2 guns, a set of gear sufficient to play and that's it; but they'll regularly travel around the country paying for hotels near to 2-3 day events plus all the extra food and fuel costs and using loads of pyro etc. Then there's the opposite kind of person of course, and there's everything between as well. Some people have 3-4 amazing PTW/MTW/NGRS, some people have 30+ stock budget line CYMAs. Personally I like gucci kit (clothing and LBE) and furniture for RIFs, but I currently draw the line at high end real optics like EoTechs and ACOGs. I could elaborate on my thought process as to why, but there are a few airsofters out there who love those types of optics and own a few of them, highlighting the fact that what makes sense within your own personal lump of grey matter won't make any sense within the grey matter of many other people. Long as you make peace with the fact people like different things and then actually act as such then it's all gravy.2 points

The guy(s) she tells you not to worry about & for a bit of brevity [because it feels like I keep posting the same images] my mate's LCT RPK-74: (yes, it's the one from the video & yes, after waiting on the list for a few months on Monday he found out it was completely fucked on the inside after Luke took a look at it which ended up with a new LCT casing, new mosfet, gears etc so it cost a fortune lol)2 points -

So, I heard back from my source who asked TM directly what's going on with Glocks. TM said there are just production issues in general which are impacting multiple product lines, not just Glocks. TM said there are no issues with licencing and that is a rumour started by a store/distributor that has no involvement with TM and is not to be trusted. Is TM lying? Possible but doubtful. We'll see I guess. And I got all that without having to sign a NDA. In summary, everyone can chill out.2 points

Kit is all pretty generic inexpensive stuff - apart from PPE, I never skimp on that. The MWS is my most expensive pew, but it'll get used plenty and probably outlast my playing days. It's still cheaper than cycling, especially when you discover you need to replace two frames in the space of about 6 weeks! (luckily the main bike was the second one or I'd never have got the replacement of both signed off by Mrs M!) I also took 'I suppose you'll just get one anyway' as approval, which - PSA incoming - it isn't 😂2 points -

This is a great read, with good responses so far. it reminds me of a similar thread in an MTB forum I was on, and there was an American website, that for $15 dollars ‘Admin fee’, would send you an invoice/bill for whatever you agreed with them. That way significant others wouldn’t find out how much you spent…..1 point

Genuinely had so much fun this weekend, the social at the corporals club was very entertaining. Some excellent firefights Hq not taking it too seriously, there was a little of hurry up and wait, but in fairness that was down to average age of echo 1 as well as gun issues.... And the team wipe out WARPAC managed on Sunday afternoon to close the day was epic. As the newest member of Echo 1 -1, I will be doing this again. Also the amount of rental kit Josh had available for WARPAC, might do that next year. I used the tm hk53 all weekend Couple of m16's and an mp5. On Sunday we went all out and all used hk mp5' or the 53 varient I'm a mix of para chest rigs and full 58 webbing, we looked cool as fu k1 point -

One of the things I like about our hobby is that folk can choose to spend as little or a much as they like without a huge gap in performance. Whether you like them or not a large part of this is down to the Chinese clones getting better quality, a great example of this is magazines, 20 years ago a single AEG magazine was around £30. It's from a neurotransmitter called Dopamine. https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/what-is-dopamine1 point -

Most guys have an expensive hobby of some sort. Airsoft isn't the most expensive one out there. I'm with Poncho in that I prefer a variety of cheaper/bargain toys rather than spending a lot on one or two great performers. I am now more of a collector than a player and I regard my toys as an investment. Gear/costumes are also easy to exchange. (got rid of most of my stuff when I realised I prefer going light)1 point -

I don't spend money on gear because I don't see the point. What I mean is that I don't need a Sordin for 300 quid or gucci plate carrier because I don't go to war and it doesn't matter one bit if it's branded Viper Tactical or Agilite. Majority of the people you meet don't care what's on you regardless if you try to impress others or not. Hardcore mil-sim events are obviously different but in that case you know exactly what you signed up for. There is obviously some truth to "the buy once cry once" motto regarding gear. Can be a good investment as long as you don't end up in the classifieds trying to get rid of it for a small fortune and no one buys it. 🤣1 point -
