  26. And I swear by sweatbands. Buy two or three cheapies, and swap them each game to give them a chance to dry out a bit. But ultimately, fans are the only thing I've found that are guaranteed to work on a humid day when standing still after exertion.

    Posting RIF’s

Well, the usual derailing. The tl;dr is "Parcel Force 48", although people can and do send via other couriers, declared as "sporting goods" or similar, insured for the real value. If you do that, package it very well so that they can't damage it, and then it just becomes a question of whether they lose it or not, in which case they won't have any evidence that it was a no-no item.

  31. Unfortunately eye/face protection and dealing with fogging is one of those things where everyone's a little different. Don't be surprised if you have to try different things before finding what works for you. Personally I use glasses with a mesh face mask and use cat crap on the lenses at the start of the day and again at lunch if it's a warm day. One other thing that can affect fogging is what's on your head. A helmet or beanie will trap heat more than something thinner like a bush hat or cap

  34. I can still fog Revision's Desert locusts with the thermal lens and their anti-fog wipes, not so voodoo magic. It's all down to humidity and body heat, these things are all designed for environments with less than 50% average relative humidity, UK averages at around 50 - 60% in the summer and 80-90% during spring and winter. ExFog works well, its less expensive than the Novbitch one, and you can either fuck about with the magnetic end bits or just point the tubes in roughly the right direction - just don't forget to charge it the night before, because they don't hold juice very well (this applies to both ExFog and Novbitch ones).

Not going to add any sort of post requirement before accessing the classifieds and probably never will. Whilst this does leave users slightly more vulnerable to scammers the classifieds are the primary access point for new members (some of who eventually become frequent contributors to the remainder of the forum). I'll also add that the relative success of AFUK's classifieds is that it allows buyers to contact sellers far more easily than some similar platforms (which then translates into items selling more quickly). If a change was made to accessing the classifieds it would probably work for an extended period of time but there would be a drop-off in new listings on the classifieds in the medium to long term which would precipitate as less content overall on the forums. Facebook and Discord are not only popular because everybody is already on there (in many cases multiple times a day) but because you don't even have to think about doing any amount of legwork before contacting a potential buyer or seller. Closing the gap between forums and big services like this starts at having as little extra work for new users as is feasible. The above is also why care has to be taken before adding new sign up requirements in order to help prevent spamming (I'm sure everyone is familiar with just how much of this we get). There is currently a cap on how much 'content' you can post/create before you reach a certain account age - this is intended to be one of a number of small things that frustrate people spamming and scamming at scale but it is a bit of an arms race with no solution that doesn't come at the cost of significantly lower new registrations. Did consider a 'bond' at one point of a similarly small amount which would be refunded after a specific period of time but this comes with loads of real life liabilities. Also as above any non-refundable small contribution for buyers and sellers would probably be catastrophic for fresh sign ups I'm afraid. I am likely going to add a new notification to make this more prominent to new members. As it stands there are two notifications that you receive as a new member and it's likely that adding a third won't help. There is of course the floating permanent notification at the top of the classifieds with a warning and some very basic guidelines. Any concise recommendations to add to this list of tips would be greatly appreciated. I've asked for clarification on this but for now the forum does not notify of new classifieds on Discord as we're probably not allowed to even link to new listings under these new guidelines. Although it's not exactly foolproof prevention of anybody who does a little bit of research on this (thankfully most scammers seem to be pretty thick) we do screen IPs (for anti-spam purposes more than anything) in order to catch VPNs etc. (to the degree that it is feasible to do so). Agree wholeheartedly. This is the first recommendation in the list recommendations given at the top of the classifieds for a reason. Anybody looking to save a couple of quid on a transaction of hundreds of pounds with somebody they don't know is asking for trouble.

    MP5 Rigs

I also run a DCS, and the major downside to the design is it lacks the velcro and clips to mount placards. It's a faff to replace molle pouches during a game day. However, I've managed to get around this using a front velcro panel and some T-bar buckles. Front panel (6 Wide Loop Panel) and buckles from British Tactical (https://www.britishtactical.com/hl-adaptable-modular-system-parts/). You just mount it to the front of the plate carrier in place of your existing pouches I can now mount whatever placard I need easily and quickly. The Spiritus MK5 is my go-to for the MP5, and with the inserts it's quick to swap to 5.56 or 7.62. Added bonus - with a little more outlay, you can run the Spiritus MK5 as a standalone chest rig, which I do when it's really hot (or I'm feeling lazy). It's a really modular system.

  40. Sounds like it's reacted with something in the wipe, possibly whatever solvent they use. It's why they both recommend using their own wipes with their lenses.

Bassist here! Late-comer to the party (2019), always fancied it and when the eldest started learning I said I would too. Obviously his Squier Mini-strat hasn’t been played in ages but I still play regularly. Here’s my Ibanez SR370.

  48. Some more G17G5 tinkering.. Figured as there is the metal slide fitted and the 200% recoil spring, then the nozzle might benefit from a snappier return spring, especially when using a more spicy gas. This 130% is spot on ?? Very different nozzle design what with the new semi-circle design when it’s pulled to bits and a bit of a fiddle to release the original. Took a few moments to figure out how to release it (it’s a screw inside the middle of the spring.)
