All for the positive vibes, but peeps have handed over cash a year ago, Admin have been linked, replies to other threads have been made, and not even an acknowledgement of the requests for an update. Yet we have the very entertaining Macks dreamers thread. As THE forum for seasoned players and newbies, I would hope we represented the respectable side of the hobby. Wanted or not, the forum admin/owners really need to step up on this one, even if we are only dealing with a few fivers here and there. I did a charity T shirt fundraiser for the Tsunami in Japan years ago when I was an Admin of a Jap car club that ran to a fair chunk of money. Transparency of the funds was of upmost importance. I even DMd pics of envelopes and addresses as part of proof of postage. I might even have the spreadsheet somewhere LOL. Now if you don't mind, I have 20 minutes left of Navy Seals to watch and I am desperately trying to think of a reason not to buy myself a TM MP5 for my birthday. 😆4 points -

My mukker came down from Inverness to visit this weekend We had been playing paintball side by side since the early 90’s so have good comms and knowledge of what the other is going to do. I got him into Airsoft about 5 years ago, and have been playing again together when we get the chance, obviously being a 3 hour drive away from me is a hassle. So he came down and we visited Battle Zone just on the north side of Edinburgh. The first couple of warm up games showed issues with non hit takers, so a little extra “love” had to be sent to them to let them know to stick their hands up 😉 it continued into game 4 of the morning, then the marshals announced a zero tolerance for non hit taking, intending to drag the culprit out of the game and stop them playing the rest of the day. (A few of them are known repeat offenders apparently) This dramatically improved the game play, funnily enough the offenders themselves stopped playing and sat and sulked in the safe zone until their parents/uber came to collect them at the end of the day. With the knobber’s no longer interested in playing, the sportsmanship massively enhanced, the games were superb, and my chum and I were on top form and worked like a proper small unit. (propaby helped by watching 13 hours - secret soldiers of Benghazi at 5:30 am before leaving for a proper buffet breakfast on the way to the site 😁) Only one technical issue for me was my shots half way through the day started going haywire, had a Quick Look whilst under fire and somehow I was experiencing Muzzle Strike on my supressor (QD Angry Gun Surefire clone) So off it came, and my accuracy was restored. Cracking day, finished off with a lovely Chinese take away. Im hurting today, back & legs and woke up with a stinking sore head proving that I’m still not taking in enough fluids . Silly boy! But showed some of the kids that two duffers in their 50’s can still keep it up with them 😄3 points -
Anyone know how to post up a poll, as I'm genuinely interested to see how many fivers we are talking about here and how long people have been waiting. Given all the advice on the forum about how to dispute payments when retailers don't send out something that's been paid for I'm really amazed at the patience that's been displayed here by forum members and that no-one has yet disputed this. I know, it's only a patch, but that's not really the point. Is it really that tricky or time-consuming to deal with this? If there are no patches or otherwise some other reason why some members don't see them for a year, then let everyone know and stop taking the money...2 points

Hello Alex, You should be able to find Devil .28's in stock at Bullseye, Combat South, Airsoft Zone & Ammo Drop at least. For your tracers, we do Open Blaster tracers in .28, .3 and .32 Cursed and Devil still run side by side and haven't replaced one another per say, the key difference being all Blaster go through our additional steps of QC in Denmark before they're bottled up, Cursed QC is all done at factory. Hope that helps chap.2 points

Didn't play this weekend, but I'm pretty sure most games would've been better than this guys https://westchester.news12.com/police-airsoft-game-dispute-in-carmel-led-to-stabbing Yes - apparently it was about non calling hits, and No, it wasn't Kicking Mustang for a change. I played it a couple weeks ago, with about 30 odd players. I really liked it, as it was CQB but without 90 degree angles every 5 yards, and areas big enough to get some longer shots off. And as it's fairly short engagement and no pyro allowed, its not pay-to-win.2 points -
It's only a very small percentage, few years back I've spoken to a few other retailers about this and they have report the same issue. I've only ever had it reported on 1 of my XT 22TPA motors since selling (about 3 years). More people using short-stroking in combination of 7.4v batteries seem to have reduced the issue. I've come across at least 2 ASG motors that exhibited the same symptoms so I'm not convinced it restricted to any certain grade of motor.2 points

Totally agree. Of all the GBBRs I have, the only one that doesn't have some sort of NPAS or adjustable valves is the mp9 and that has the low power bolt so it shoots about 0.7J. They're a must-have because weather affects power, so if I use them in the current weather I need to turn up the power, but then when it's 20+ celcius I need to turn the power down because the gas runs better in warmer temperatures.2 points

It’s a shame that manufacturers don’t include npas as standard, as its genuinely a necessity (unless you are stateside where fps limits are much higher than ours) An opportunity I suppose for extra revenue for them, but really, would it kill them to install and charge like an extra £30? 🤷🏻♂️2 points -

Great day at RIFT 'The Battery' today. Less than an hour from home and being CQB we thought we'd give it a go as it's something a bit different to a normal outdoor skirmish (and less muddy). Well organised by RIFT as usual, with hot/cold drinks, snacks and hotdogs for lunch. Also a well stocked shop from White Sphere. They cap the number at 70, which I'd say is the most you can get on the site. Rules such as no pre-firing or suppressive fire, and no pyro worked really well with very few bottlenecks, and the short 30 minutes games were long enough to get involved with but not so long that you get bored. Will definitely be back, ran the MP5, L119A1 and at one point just the Glock - great fun.2 points -

My M4 I can adjust through the ejection port with a small tool that has a universal joint making it quick and easy My 553 doesn’t use the same tool even though the guns are both GHK and the npas’ both made by RA Tech Another cunning plan to slip their hand in your wallet 🙄 Fortunately I had in a toolbox a T0 sized Torx that fits the 553 nozzle, the equivalent of a 1.3mm Allan key Thought they could outsmart me huh!! 😂😂 But I have to strip the 553 down, but it’s relatively easy1 point -

I'd err on the side of caution, for the sake of a £10-£15 battery, is it worth the risk ? Might combust when in use in a rifle, wrecking the gat, or worse, when being charged at home, doing god knows what😱1 point -

I run few GBB's As mentioned before my MP9 has a low power bolt fitted so never runs hot. My VFC 416A5 came with a factory fitted NPAS, adjusting it involves taking the bolt out and using a small allen key down the nozzle to adjust it. It's quite a simple process due to how easy and quickly an AR style rifle can be broken down. My WE39 has an NPAS fitted (paid extra to have it fitted by the shop) which is more of a pain as you have to break the rifle down to get the bolt out, then you need use a small screw driver to stop the NPAS from spinning while using a tool to open or close the NPAS. It can take a while to do this proceedure. However much a pain in the arse it is, you need and NPAS to run a GBB through out the year. If it's warm, my G39 can easily run over 450 fps if I dont take the time to adjust the NPAS. The other thing you can do is use different powered gas depending on the ambient temperatures.1 point -

Yes, I just found some at Airsoft Zone! Thanks for the additional info. Always got on well with the Blaster range, would like stick to them if I can... especially the Devils. Good to know they are still about. What made you go to .32? I use to do mostly indoor skirmishes at The Mall and my AEG is 325-330fps on .20's. That was the reason I ran .25's and .28's. Most of my internals were all upgraded a while back so I'm up for trying other weights.1 point

When I was using 0.28g the ASG Cursed line were faultless, so this is up to summer 2023 before I and my son moved to 0.32g across the board for AEG's and pistols. Their price is great, they're easy to get hold off (I'd usually buy three of four bags at a time from Patrol Base along with other consumables), didn't get any in the bag that were damaged or any "dust" in the bottom of the bag. Personally I couldn't find anything better for the price.1 point

Titans have an issue with cheaper/low TPA motors. They may have changed this with later firmwares as the Asters I have don't seem to suffer the same problems. AB is best turned off if you can and use the bare minimum you actually need, but as far as the Titans go, use better motors (I replaced mine with an ASG Ultimate CNC 28000 and it's been fine ever since).1 point

The manufacturers don't make extra money from npas as they are made by 3rd parties 99% of the time. The reason why they aren't always included is because it's region dependant. The UK is a very very very small market compared to Asia and the US1 point -

Mixed morning at Driver Wood yesterday - they were trialling a new game format, including roaming spawns (marshall with a flag acting as the spawn point, and moving around behind the action). I’m a great fan of roaming spawns - they are a good solution to allowing the use of a large playing area, without the trek back to spawn becoming so lengthy that it encourages cheating or is just outright tedious. The game involved a team trying to get a stretcher to a number of different objectives in a set sequence, the other team defending those objectives. First game we were ‘defending’, second game, attacking with the stretcher. I opted to run the AAP carbine in the first game - built up using a TTI kit, with a 21cm inner barrel, and running on HPA via an Airtac MP5 magazine adapter. It didn’t start well, with the obligatory pre-game test shots sending the charging handle extension flying over my shoulder and my discovery that the outer barrel was wobbly! Throughout the game, I was needing to constantly re-zero the gun, not by adjusting the sight, but by nudging the alignment of the outer barrel within the handguard. Madness. Still, it gives me an excuse to strip the carbine down to pop a longer inner barrel (circa 300mm) so that I can reduce the HPA pressure to create less wear and tear (and this time use a bit more threadlock when I re-assemble…). Aside from gun troubles, the first game was a bit of an annoying game of attrition, with our team somewhat static, and lacking the motivation to push hard, despite the spawn only being a short distance behind us. Second game we swapped roles, and this time I opted to take the L96 and MK23 - both of which performed superbly, with plenty of pleasingly long range hits with the sniper rifle, and much more mobile game play from both sides for some reason. Also, re-affirming my view that a good ghillie head and shoulders aka viper hood is in 80% of cases as effective as a full ghillie suit, without the heat and hassle. And for once, the weather was great!1 point -

Skirmishing using GBBR's
Enid_Puceflange reacted to gavinkempsell for a topic
Well, where do I start? Probably 30 mins before I actually got there TBH, the site is right on my doorstep so I have no excuses. Crono'd my Scar-H GBBR on 2.5's & it was too hot for the site tried it on 2's with the same result, safety brief was called just as I was muttering FFS under my breath so after the safety brief I took out my Scar-L AEG from the boot of my car & it crono'd just on or under the site limit so played a game using that, got a couple of kills & respawned a couple of times but I wasn't really feeling the motivation to continue & felt I was nursing a sore back a bit much to enjoy my day. I'd taken my Scar-H GBBR, XM177 GBBR, Scar-L AEG, but by my last respawn I'd already decided to give the day a miss, so took my pews to the range with extra gas, extra batteries & extra bb's where I spent the next hour or so flinging 3's, 2.5's & some 2's down range. Despite not fielding the GBBR's I definitely felt the AEG to be a bit Meh in comparison to the plinking I'd already done with the GBBR's. On a positive note, the GBBR's had good range although I need to set the hop on the XM177, & I collected a few of my other pews from our local tech which I played about with too... An L85A1 was in for a wee fix & is now shooting with fantastic range, realistically 50m but bb's were going past the 60m & pretty close to the 70 mark but with no accuracy (yet), an SL8/9 was in for a repair as it was firing on full auto despite being a semi (now a single shot only & range was almost as good as the L85), an AR57 was a bit hot but shoots pretty good now (Mag changes were awkward but I recon a change of sights with sort that) & lastly a G36 was ok but nothing special (will never be fielded anyway). Not a 100% successful day TBH but these things happen, next chance to play soldiers will be in March.1 point -

Hello, I have not been around since 2016. I recently moved back to where I used to play airsoft, so want to try it out again, my UKARA expired in 2016. I have emailed the site I used to play at but they have not got back to me. Will I have to play the 3 rental games again? I have done a little bit of research, seems like the `Double Eagle M908B` is the new go to starter gun? It was a g&g combat machine when I used to play. Will I be somewhat competitive with a cheapo gun like that, (50-60m with .28s)? Also can anyone recommend me a lightweight cheap chest rig, I've found this https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/8fields-tactical-compact-multi-mission-chest-harness?fv=11580 but can anyone recommend me something else. I just want to hold 2 extra mags that's all. Also, have any new sites popped up around Essex/London? Can anyone recommend a good CQB site? Thanks for reading, and I'm excited to be back.1 point
