  5. As someone who has owned several rotating minigun-type guns, and from the research I've done, the WELL offering is far from worth it. To discuss some of the other things - the CA M134 (the big ol chonker of the group) has a sort of hop, which is basically a small strip of rubber that runs 360* around the barrels and indexes over the window. each "hop" is adjusted by an individual hex wrench. Mine broke down and CA refuses to answer my inquires about buying a replacement, so Im debating mounting my 6 barrels on my lathe and adapting it for a TDC-style hop like you find on some guns (im thinking Daytonas but I know others use the same screw-like system). Big, heavy, very fast ROF (especially for the time). Perfect for vehicle mounting or juggernaut games; not much else. 2000 round capacity (but has an option for an ammo pack if you're creative), 50RPS. The CA M132 4-barrelled was the first "modern" minigun design, in that it takes standard barrels and buckings. Its still adjusted independently by hex wrenches per hop. They're easier to adjust, as you can remove the battery, hold down the trigger, and manually spin the barrel so a shot only comes out of the barrel you're adjusting. Doable, and can be effective. This one has the same classic "movie" handheld-style design. It had an innovating magazine system that acts sort of like a giant midcap, giving spring tension so it could be fired from any angle. 2200 round capacity, 38RPS standard ROF but there was an aftermarket motor that brought it in-line with the more expensive CAs, at 48RPS. It also is the only one with an available externals kit, which is made for vehicle-mounting. Its the only one I have used on the field; a video for reference is below. I was one of the first people in the US with one at this event, so I had photographers following me around taking action shots. The CA M133 is the second-most recent minigun. Also a four barrel design, this one breaks away from the m132 and m134 by being battery-operated. The previous two were both HPA. It also changes up the design with a "chainsaw"-style, leading to less of a hip-fire oriented design and therefore better for using around cover and more accurately. The second-most expensive of the styles, with a 2200 round capacity. The only one able to switch ROFs, between low (25RPS) and high (50RPS). The WELL M134 breaks both the naming convention and price point, being $100 cheaper than the M132, and almost $500 less than the battery-operated M133. Despite that it lacks some of the things that make the others good, namely a good place for an off-hand grip - trading that space for rail space for whatever reason. . While some people seem to use them "stagecoach"-style one-handed, its not ideal. Performance is also meh; demo videos of the gun showed rounds sometimes not even travelling 20m. 5 barrels is also unique for miniguns, and 1200 rounds puts it in a not great place compared to many of the CA options for capacity. Its max ROF is 40RPS. So is the WELL worth it? Well (pun intended) I cant really say. Miniguns are a very niche weapon type and offer 0 actual advantage on the field as long as that level of ROF is allowed. The only benefit is a coolness factor (admittedly very important) and a little bit of intimidation. The WELL offering does bring players a new option at a yet-unseen price point; to get the cheapest CA you're still looking at an additional $100, plus a few more if you do not have the required HPA setup. But is the gun good enough to be fieldable, and durable enough to be used long enough to make the investment worth it? Only time and reviews will tell. Now I never mentioned the other two miniguns out there, and that's because I have no experience with them. Craft Apple Works made the original minigun, and later sold/incorporated the design into creating the more mass-produced Echo1 version. CA showed up with their own design not too long after, and has until now dominated the minigun market - as small as it may be.

  12. Fair point, maybe I'll stick with 2S to begin with, if I feel the need for higher RoF later down the line I can always test with one of the 3S packs from my FPV quad and see how toasty the motor gets. That said the brushed 550 motor in my 1/14 scale RC car regularly reaches temperatures that cause localised climate change, yet it keeps coming back for more. I notice a lot of airsoft AEG tech is starting to borrow from the RC world. MosFet/ETUs etc are nothing more than the ESCs we've been running in RC gear for what feels like a decade now and brushless motors still seem to be a rarity in AEGs despite being ubiquitous in most mid-range RC. Cheers, good tips, I'll have a search for an M4 adaptor for the G36, though the boy quite likes the idea of the G36 mags native ability to stack together. I think DE's head of global marketing has a RostockMcSpoons portrait that takes pride of place in his office.

  14. Congrats on your purchase! : Checks bank balance to see if commission has landed: I played with a 7.4v for a good while but eventually succumbed to temptation, enjoyed the higher RoF ever since. I'd agree it's not a necessity though. I changed the stock for a PTS EPS which takes crane batteries, as much so the battery chargers are less fiddly as for physical capacity (... You might want to buy or make a short extension lead in the short term, but it depends on the particular battery you end up with) I had no problems with the fire control unit, but the motor does get warm thanks the active braking kicking in, especially during semi spamming. I don't go for prolonged full auto, short bursts (but plenty of them!) Is my style. I run with Lonex flash mags, as they're the nicest high caps I've had. They aren't perfect, they sometimes unwind on insertion. Some careful skimming in the mag well would probably fix it, never quite got around to it... Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. Most of the other M4 mags I have are fine, just a Tippmann mid cap (polymer) and a Battleaxe high cap won't fit. As for the g36, you may not be aware but you can buy a replacement mag well that means it'll take M4 mags. You could then both share from a pool of m4 mags, it would make logistics a bit easier!

  17. OD all day long, @Duff Beer & I were teammates & we looked the dogs in our OD setups, even when the team went from wusentarn (I think ?) to Vegetato, 2 very different camos, it still looked great, goes with pretty much anything. šŸ‘

  19. I have a full OD setup, and wouldnā€™t consider ditching it for (in my case) Vegetato. Thereā€™s something so old school about an OD rig, and it goes perfectly with a jeans/shirt combo for CQB as it does with a bit of camo for woodland. In my opinion very few can pull off the camo over civvies look (one would be expected to be single-handedly saving a hotel in Nairobi for example). Equally, you do you mate. As long as youā€™re not wearing anything inflammatory then knock yourself out.

  20. Hey folks. Looking for some opinions! I'm thinking of swapping my plate carrier setup for a multicam one. I've decided I like the look of multicam with woodland pants, but I'm kind of on the fence. Wondering what other people's opinions are out of curiosity, or if the OD setup actually looks pretty decent? As I say I'm on the fence but tilting towards conversion to the multiglam mob Pic of me in the kit for reference... cheers!

  21. I didn't know special SIG pouches were a thing, but of course that makes sense. I specifically sought out polymer pouches that could hold anything (AUG / M14 / M4 etc) but the lugs make such a difference to the shape of the mag that I don't much like 'em.

  22. No but my Grandad got into it bigtime in his retirement (building only with balsa & luck), he tried his hand at helicopters at one stage but on his first trial flight in the garden it went a bit off page & removed every single flower down one site of the garden (my Gran was the gardener)... it never flew again.

  24. Exactly this - phone or contact them. Plenty places prioritize their sales and working over proof-reading (or sometimes even updating) the website, and for all you know the order numbers could be from a new order-handling system... a bunch of rage and FUD when you've not got something within 2 days is a bit much... moreso when it turns up within 3 hours of your (frankly impatient) post. Are you... not used to a world where people are infallible, make mistakes, or something things don't happen? I had an order not be dispatched from a large and well-known supplier for the best part of a week, despite their site saying the process orders daily. Rather than complaining that they hadn't dispatched my order or responded to my initial email, I called them up. Item was supposed to be in stock, but they'd ran out. It happens. Somehow my order fell through the proverbial cracks, and I hadn't got a response or communication about the stock issue. Again, we're all human, these things happen. Supplier couldn't have been more apologetic, and overnighted a suitable alternative product at no extra charge. While it was odd that such a well-known place would've somehow "lost" my order like that / been incommunicado, I didn't feel I'd been "got," and certainly didn't feel the need to make a thread questioning how genuine or honest they are -- I simply called them up and got the matter resolved. A little patience goes a long way, grasshopper šŸ˜Š -- and if you take such umbrage with the feeling that they're "not great at communicating updates they state they will" then maybe tell them that, and give them a chance to explain / potentially rectify it in future? Plenty places don't actually send out dispatch emails. It's a minor annoyance, but hardly worth raking them over hot coals,

I ordered from VapexTech not too long ago. Can't remember how long it took but wasn't too long and it did arrive. No dispatch email was sent. Give it a little longer, it should arrive. As far as I could tell, they're about the best battery retailer for UK just now. They have the stock at good price and not mental P&P.

  37. I'd stick with the OD set up, I think it looks pretty good! In terms of pouches, yes Multicam may be easier to find but if you shop around a bit then most manufacturers offer their kit in OD and/or Ranger Green (RG) at a push as well.

If you want a monster of a 1911, but you're okay knowing your paying more for build quality as opposed to performance, look for an Inokatsu
