  1. Exactly that. Especially when you are fettling in the garden and it flies off into your wifes' bush. He don't want to pull the bloody wall ties out of the wall! 😂😂

  2. This is sort of a "How did your airsoft day go" post, but I might as well have this new thread as a repository for future tales of success / woe / dumb questions I bought this little beauty as a proper (two-toned) boneyard item quite a while ago. It shot, but it had a particularly grindy motor with an awful, wheezy RoF only helped to something like normality by banging an 11.1v battery on it. (Not a great long term plan, given the lack of MOSFET). But it showed potential because it seemed quite accurate during the couple of times I tried it out. I started the search for a replacement medium length motor... and found they're quite rare - £45 brand new - and I didn't think it was worth spending that much money on. Luckily I found one on eBay for a bargain price... buuuuuuut I managed to kill it when I fitted it (still not sure how). Up to the loft went poor little Siggy. Well, as I'm metaphorically (and occasionally actually) twiddling my thumbs I thought I'd have another crack at it. Even if it was just back with the original motor, as a garden plinker. Plumbed in the knackered motor and a battery. Smoke. No-worky. Then a good bit of luck for a change - I found an old TM medium length motor I didn't know I had. I swallowed the necessary Brave Pill and took Siggy apart. It may have been the act of cracking the gearbox but the internals weren't in their proper places. I put everything back in place, only swore at the trigger a little bit. And then spent an awful long time routing the cables around so they wouldn't get nipped or cut. Had to take the body apart and retry several times... it's a bitch of a job because the cables always seem to find a way to move as you slide the receiver into place, and they get snagged. Again. And again. But eventually... all back together. And the darned thing works. Properly! As an added bonus it still seems to shoot straight (only a couple of shots in the garden as the neighbours are out enjoying the sun) AND it's banging out 0.20s at 345fps. Result! Now I need to do some proper accuracy / hop testing, to see if it's skirmishable. If it is, I need some mags for it.

  3. Ladies and gentlemen, A moments peace for the passing of an MB02 rif. It came to me damaged and after a small recovery period and some surgery, managed to sustain itself well. With the addition of parts, it came back to life and its greatest achievement was registering 408fps. Unfortunately the second set of sears gave up and mullered the piston, rendering it a wall hanger and ending any interest in "bolt actions" in our household. It carried a donor card and its barrel has been donated to be used in several pistols. A dim light extinguished. Now, wheres my Aug....

  4. I bought a RIF from the sites classifieds which I'm very happy with, I knew it needed some work & I figured it would be a good first attempt at disassembly, tidy & rebuild as it would be a wall hanger anyway (unless it turned out awesome of course), anyway... it needed a few parts which were very nicely supplied by another site member, they arrived today & as I'm an eager beaver I set about 'fixing' my toy after I got home from work. I'd already stripped it before sourcing the parts I needed and noticed someone else had already been in it's guts to 'upgrade' or 'repair' it in the past. Looks like they'd replaced the piston spring with a longer/stronger one and the spring guide was either the wrong one or the threads were stripped so the whole spring assembly was wedged in with a metal plate cut to size. I've now got an almost complete & almost built Honey Badger that will probably have a fairly hot FPS except for one little issue... the spring, sprung all the way across my mancave and disappeared behind some shelving that I can't be arsed moving at the moment, not a big deal as it was meant to be a wall hanger anyway but... the butt plate screws into the bloody spring guide & three guesses where that is??? Looks like I'll be moving some shelving in my imediate future... DOH!

I used a Specna Arms Core 04 as the base for my project/learning build. The polymer for the receiver is actually really good, I just dislike handguards that are secured via the delta-ring, they always seems loose/wobbly. I will say that the Specna (blue) hop-units are great and haven't had an issue with it. Reliably lifts 0.3g out to good range and is very consistent. I'm sure Rostok will be here soon to shill the Double Eagle guns with the EFCS

  6. Tomorrow is a skirmish at Spec Ops, so I spent part of today getting the gnus from the loft and fettling them for a turn on the range... and, if they're very very well-behaved, a bit of proper trigger time on the battlefield The number of gats is getting a bit out of hand when they're viewed as a collection! There are several missing from the pic too - my old M16 (dead motor), my AK47-S (mags need new springs) and my wall-hanger L85.. and 3 other pistols. The F2000 project gun at the bottom of the pic makes me sad. It's got some nice components in there and rips like a beast when it's running, but it's not worked properly long enough to skirmish yet. Tomorrow I'm hoping the SIG, the ICS Scarab (with it's fun RoF) and the Tippmann M4 will get some time to shine on the field. But I'm planning on hauling almost all of them to the range so I can check they're in good nick. Wish me luck

  9. Can you use a magnet on a string or one of those telescopic ones? At least its a relatively big thing to find. Just wait until a tiny spring goes flying and you don't know where because it doesn't make any noise when it lands 😫

  15. Happened this afternoon whilst rebuilding the boy's M16 gearbox for the umpteenth time. Don't know what it did, if anything, and the gun is working fine without it. Watched the little fucker fly off into the distance but have no idea where it bounced. Hey ho.

  16. We'll see you there @RostokMcSpoons, bringing all of our pews minus the Rapax. 3 guests are in tow too. The boy is insisting I play at least one round with the Robocop gun 😎

  17. I suggested a Cyma AK, but he wants to stick with M4 as his big brother has the DE904. I'm letting him use my upgraded C12 tomorrow as I'm taking the whole family to Spec Ops for the day. So we'll see how the chap gets on.

  20. * DeltaMike Mini V2 Really pleased with this, been using rental masks til now and this feels another level of comfort. Leaves my massive nose exposed but I’ll take that. * Revision Bullet Ants Bought 2 pairs for me and the boy. I have a feeling these are going to fog up instantly for me but we will see. * Flecktarn/Bulle M4 chest rig I wasn’t planning to spend anything on military wear, but for a shade under £50 this feels so much better than the generic backpack I’ve been using til now. 3rd game this weekend so hopefully I’ll be able to spend even more money once UKARA registered.

    Belt kit HPA tank

I've got a generic Viper molle pouch on my belt which holds my 48cl tank quite snuggly.. tomorrow might be the first attempt to actually properly skirmish with it though, so I'll report back if that happens! Edit: Here you go...

Can't comment on those particular models, but I picked one of these up for my lad at the end of last year: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/specna-arms-rock-river-arms-sa-e03-edge-carbine Have to say, for the price I was pretty impressed. It's been absolutely fine so far, has decent FPS (around 310-315 on .2s) and slings .25gs out to a decent distance. It doesn't seem too fussy on mags, isn't too heavy and was a decent buy. The build quality is ok, but things do rattle a little bit, but it's a budget gun and would make a great starter gun. I'd also look at Cyma as well. The two AKs I have are really good, very solid and were both under £200. Their M4s are also getting decent reviews, so maybe another option to consider?

On the plus side, LCT are releasing their G3K this month. Far as I know, it is the first time that model is available. Still no sign on King Arms bothering with their L1A1/FAL re-release.

  27. A cowboy walks into a bar and orders a drink. When the bartender delivers it, the cowboy looks around and notices the bar is completely deserted other than himself and the bartender... "Where is everybody? This place is usually packed this time of day," the cowboy says. The bartender replies, "They've gone to the hanging." "Hanging? Who are they hanging?" "Brown Paper Pete," says the bartender. "What kind of name is that? Why do they call him Brown Paper Pete?" the cowboy asks. "Well," says the bartender, "he wears a brown paper hat, brown paper shirt, brown paper trousers and brown paper shoes." "Weird guy," says the cowboy. "What are they hanging him for?" "Rustling," says the bartender.....

  31. This is probably bloody obvious to most of you, but today I discovered that my somewhat wheezy gun was cured of its asthma with a few turns on an Allen key to raise the motor height and get it adjusted correctly. Now the gnu sounds nice and snappy! It's a shame my accuracy testing showed it's not shooting quite as tightly as it did before I worked on it. Definitely fine for CQB and maybe it just needs to settle down again. I'll be taking it for a proper outing on Sunday thanks to @Cannonfodder's donated high caps (cheers again!)

    What have you made?

work continues. working on the lower receiver now. because it is going to use scorpion mags I'm going to make it have a paddle style mag release. for anyone interested the smaller parts will be SLS aluminium printed, the lower receiver with be cast epoxy polymer, the outer barrel will be a metal 6 inch barrel extension which will be fitted to a 3D printed barrel block. The only question I'm mulling over right now is how to make the upper receiver.

  38. work continues on the Stribog. Inserted a 3D gearbox and hop unit into the upper receiver to work out what I need to do for the lower for it to all fit together. So far it looks like I will need to move the front retaining pin forward to accommodate the magazine. 2 main parts left to do, the barrel and barrel block and the lower receiver. I'll probably just use an existing M4 grip instead of making something from scratch.

  39. still in the design phase but this is the latest project. It's the Stribog SP9. I'm aiming to make the lower work with EVO Scorpion mags.

  40. That was bloody hilarious. I had a bead on some guy hiding in a building and I called to him to identify, he popped his head up waving and going "blobalobaloba" in a high pitched squeak, then popped back down. It was like playing airsoft on sesame Street Creased me up.

  42. If we take that view, any war has its oppos and anyone can take offence at anything. Where do we stop. Germans getting offended at British D-Day kit... Yanks offended at VC loadouts... Jedi offended by Stormtroopers... Covenant airsofters disgusted by Spartan loadouts... Next we'd be banning shemaghs as the wrong colour will offend someone (a genuine cultural fopah in the Gulf but we airsofters tend to ignore it, mainly out of ignorance). Personally, there's good taste to be accounted for, however it's still just a bit of dress-up. My great-grandfather fought in the Somme. Another family relative was a Jew who escaped to Scotland with his bro from Poland in 1939 when they were all getting rounded up and sent to camps. His remaining family were wiped out in the horrors that followed. Whilst I'm fully aware and appreciative of history, I'm afraid I am not offended in the slightest if someone turns up to my local field in SS kit with toy guns. Thats just me, again there's the question of what is good taste, and others may be for good reason more sensitive which regardless of my more Liberal views I do respect.

  43. 'No timewasters or scammers' - A bit rich coming from a user who's posted up tonnes of brand new kit without a single picture including a username and date on a piece of paper to prove ownership, registered only a week ago, zero feedback and zero posts outside of the classifieds. If there was a 'scammers bingo' you would be very close to winning - just need 'Bank Transfer only' to round things out....
