  3. Yup, it's very well featured for the price. You'll need to do a bit of soldering, but into every life some flux must flow.

  4. Maybe try the Perun AB++; it has three wires https://perunairsoft.pl/products/ab_plusplus/ Burst control, AB, precocking, ROF control etc.

  5. Yeh - the X-ASRs do that. Especially if you put a few more amps through them (i.e. an upgraded motor). Don't bother with another one. They are shit. And the wiring setup differs from the Nano-ASR, Nano-HARD, WARFET etc so it's not plug'n'play. I would go down the Perun Hybrid route personally, but a cheaper option would be to either fit a complete replacement switch/wiring set (non-mosfet - will work for years on a 7.4v LiPo), or fit a cheap simple dumb mosfet (like the nano-ASR) and at least you can easily upgrade to the likes of a WARFET later.

  6. Bulldog = SRC + Custom Branding. Use it, abuse it, if (when?) it breaks, sell the parts and move on. Don't spend any money on 'upgrading' it, other than perhaps a new hop rubber. There's a good chance that it will soldier on just fine, assuming you don't expect too much in terms of ROF and Power.

  7. So after completely forgetting about this pistol for about 10 years after longing for it for ages: I was Googling WA SVI’s, trying to find a price for mine to sell at an airsoft boot sale last weekend, and went down a small rabbit hole of other WA pistols - setting off multiple old memories of pre VCRA days. Then at said boot sale, a van pulls up directly opposite me and what do you think they have… WA Colt Delta Elite. I think it was a sign that I had to buy it.

  8. Hey All, I am new to airsoft, i have my first day already set and paid for, doing the hire service. I am a bit worried as i am disabled and my running and movement ain't that great but i have always wanted to try it. Thats why i figured the Hire way was best first time, if i can't cope i have'nt lost anything. Apart from the money for the day out. I am going to the Invicta Battlegrounds Woodland site as that would be a better option for me i figured as steps can be a problem. Any advice would be great. Simon

    Unsure what to choose

Yaaaarp. Bulldog are pushed hard by the BBgnuz4U vendors, I expect they've got a decent margin on them. That said, that one is cheap enough, has got all the required parts, and you can get a peach or a lemon from any brand. Most of us have spent more on worse, or will do. It looks like that comes with one midcap, so you'll either need a bunch more midcaps, or a couple of hi-caps to keep him in the game. M4 magazines are generally cross-compatible-ish, but with foibles that sometimes require you to shim them out with tape or the fuzzy side of a velcro strip on the front or back to get them lined up and feeding reliably. Are you OK for batteries? If you got nimh and a £20 "smart" charger pushed on you, well, that happens too. They'll work, and you can switch to lipo/li-ion and something like a SkyRC S65 charger later, if you stick with the hobby. I prefer to use pairs of lipos, in the 1200-1400mAh range, and swap them over at lunch. My only real concern for a first day would be if you get one that's shooting hot, and get knocked back at the chrono. Probably not, but BBgnuz vendors shift so many that they don't tend to actually check them before selling. Still, fingers crossed. Just clean the barrel thoroughly, and I personally wouldn't use anything less than 0.25g in woodland. I find that 0.28g is the sweet spot for price and performance, if the hop unit can lift it. You'll find folk on site happy to let you run some of their BBs through it to find out, without committing to buying a bottle of your own first. That two-tone broomhandle is utter heresy, mind, and might very well be shooting hot on typical "green" gas. I'm seeing it listed at "370fps" or 1.27J which would either get it knocked back or you'd be asked to use it with DMR restrictions, i.e. a slow rate of fire and a minimum engagement distance, which rather obviates the point of a pistol. Again, you won't know until you get it chronoed. If it is hot, you can try running lower pressure "144a" gas in it. This is all sounding a bit doom-and-gloom, but in the grand airsoft scheme of things there's always a way to mend and make do, or muddle through, and once you get out there, it's all grins. If you run into any issues on site, just ask the other players or marshals for help - you'll always get someone on site (hello!) keen to throw stuff at you to test out or help out, up to and including whole guns. I tend to bring at least two backup AEGs, shotguns, pistols and what-not.

  11. My VFC LAR/FAL DX version landed in UK in late April, customs had it for 5 weeks. After the long and painful waiting, it finally arrived this week. Pretty confident it's the first DX FAL arrived in UK or even Europe. Shame that customs wanted to have more fun with it before I could get hold of The difference between the normal version and DX is the special wooden box, proper trades and every part of metal made of steel. Might be a bit overpriced but I'll pay for that as a super FAL fan

  12. The question was about three wire mosfets. I have replaced a three wired mosfet with the AB++ by connecting it to the existing cables; it is a simple soldering job.

  13. It's the pricing that puts me off that one - another £15-20 gets you the excellent Perun Hybrid unit with the wiring already soldered. Should drop into a Specna GB with no fuss. NanoASRs can be had for £20. Yes, you still have to solder, but the two signal wires is easier to deal with than two power wires plus a signal into the switch for cable routing. Obviously you don't get AB and precocking, but you do get the ability to hot-swap the unit later on if it dies, or you want to upgrade. But again, for me, the Perun Hybrid is the way to go. Edit: Looking at the wiring diagrams, you could bodge the AB++ onto the existing X-ASR wiring. Not sure I would want to do that personally but it looks like it could be done.

  14. It is a rather muddled situation. The seller (you) is the one committing the offence, so needs the defence. But it's the buyer who typically provides the seller with the evidence that they can use to adduce that defence if it ever becomes an issue (which it won't). So we tend to talk about "the buyer needing a defence", because that's the practical situation, when what we really mean, legally speaking, is that the buyer needs to enable the seller to have a defence. Buying (or attempting to buy) a RIF within the UK isn't an offence. If you can find someone who'll sell one to you, no questioned asked (2nd hand sales, for example) then you're fine to go ahead and buy without any worries. However, if you import a RIF (or cause one to be imported), manufacture one, or modify an IF into a RIF, that is an offence, and then you (the buyer/manufacturer/modifier) need to provide a defence for your actions. For importing, UKARA is the best known and easiest way of doing that. For manufacturing or modifying (or private sales), well, see if you can find anyone who will ever care. As long as the use is sensible, it'll never be an issue.

  15. Bought a Perun, G&G ETU for my rifle as the old one kinda broke. This one has much more modes in the settings which I've been playing around with. Looking forward to testing it tomorrow.

    Unsure what to choose

My son has started playing in the last year or so. I got him a Cyma AKS-74U, which is awesome, but recently he went the M4 route, so picked him up a Specna. So far it's been great out of the box, with good range and accuracy. A couple of members on here (can't remember their names 🤥) are big DE fans, and I'd trust their opinions too. Can't speak on the Bulldog, but I've heard similar to the opinions expressed above. Provided it holds together, it'll be fine for your lad's first pew. If it interests you, you should play too. Not only can you get your UKARA (not a licence!) to say goodbye to two-tones, but it's a great parent/child experience. I was getting bored of skirmishing but since the lad has joined in, it's given it a whole new slant. Hope you have the same experience 👍

  18. Ahoy and welcome, and, yup, good on you for giving it a go. Renting is a smart move. You should be OK on games where you're on the defensive. Pushing objectives, well, see how you get on. Long term, you might look into going down the sniper or DMR route to get a bit more range. I'd suggest hanging around with someone doing that, as they're likely to know the site and be able to point out good spots for being sneaky. Someone wearing regular camo, not a Bush Wookie wearing a ghillie suit, as they'll want to be super sneaky. I hope it goes well for you.

  20. Hiya fella👋 Welcome to the Airsoft asylum 🙂 Glad to hear your disability is not stopping you having a go.Good on ya. My running and movement ain't that great either and I'm supposedly able bodied. Just take it at your own pace. Remember you are paying so it's your day, enjoy it.🙂 My advice....don't be shy,ask questions, talk to the guy next to you,we love to talk about kit.If you see a gat you like the look of,tell the person holding it,he/she will most likely pass it to you to have look. Let us know how your game day turns out👍 Enjoy and remember.....call ya hits😉 Regards

  21. The BBs drop out of most guns, don't worry about that, they're the ones released into the feed tube and held in by the pressure of the BBs still in the mag underneath. Take the mag out, they fall. No worries! There's a nice red dot on Amazon, a lot of us have used these at some point, they're good value... https://amzn.eu/d/bLte0wA It might need a little riser to go under it, so it's not blocked by the front sight on the gun... Something like this perhaps (just chose a cheap one, he might prefer a different look) https://amzn.eu/d/0mpNPYq

  23. Yeahhhhhh. Bulldog don't have a great reputation. In fact it's probably got the worst reputation. Even for the BBs, they tend to be the quickest way to jam up a gun 😐 Well, good luck, maybe you got a good un. Buy some better BBs from your site or the shop at the earliest chance, but in the meantime tell your son not to keep pulling the trigger if the gun stops shooting for any reason. Hopefully, if it does, it'll just be two or three BBs stuck in the barrel and you can gently push them back out with the unjamming rod that should be in the box. 0.20g BB will be fine to start with. If you get a Double Eagle or a Cyma then stepping up to 0.25s would be ideal for those.

  25. Welcome and good on you for giving it a try. Unfortunately Invicta's woodland site is situated on a hill, so it may not be the most suitable ground for you. Quite a-lot of undulations there, take it easy and slow and hopefully you'll get through the day. I wrote a review on the site a few years back that you may find useful for some more information. It's fairly detailed.

    High FPS on some shots

Weak tappet plate spring not moving the nozzle forward consistently? Mid-cap syndrome where the mag spring pushed the BBs hard against the nozzle causing it to sit at and angle and leak air? Did you change the nozzle? Sometimes square ended or tapered ones can play up with the bucking if they are different from stock. Or mixed BB weights 😂

  30. Mmm. His early stuff wasn't too bad, but he quickly decided to go full clickbait with a toxic super-cereal hard-man persona (in a game of dress-up hide-and-seek with toys), and sadly, it's worked out for him - in terms of views, anyway. He's just abusing sites and players to create fictional content now, with careful editing and comically fake hit markers to create the impression that everybody (except him, naturally) is a useless hit dodging cheater. I really wish he'd sod off and find a different hobby to parasite on, since anyone who comes into airsoft because of watching his shenanigans is unlikely to enjoy themselves unless they're causing similar grief.

  31. Toxic and with an unhealthy obsession for drawing blood? Seriously, I watched two videos as one was suggested and the other out of curiosity to see if it was a 'one-off' and that was enough for me to change the settings to not reccomend the channel. I shoot other disciplines and I get some people are super competitive - it's personally not for me as I do it just for fun - but theres a line between being competitive and just being a dick.

  32. Quite the opposite unfortunately. People who don't know about airsoft find and watch his 'content' but anyone who actually plays knows how much of a knob he is and avoids his shite

Can't expect much from a gun already punching above it's price class. I think it's pretty admirable that they got an optical ETU functional and in production for the cost they released at, when the likes of G&G, Evolution, Cyma et al are still using microswitch-actuated ETUs. Don't get me wrong - cost compromises have been made in some places - the bushings on my M904G are very roughly finished and the GB is a touch 'wide' (I had to use nearly 40x 0.1mm shims to stop the gears rattling like maracas) but I think they've done a decent enough job all round.

  34. I did some research and compiled a bunch of still open sites that run Sunday games and they all seem to then them every fortnight and I've put them in to a list of which ones run the same week and which ones run the other week. Fife War games is the furthest away from Glasgow. It should be noted The Fortress isn't running sunday games until next month I think. Anyone know a site I have missed? 1st Week The Depot (Glasgow Indoor CQB) Section 8 (outdoor) Bio hazard airsoft (Stevenston indoor CQB) The Fort (FIFE Kirkcaldy outdoor) Enemy Down (Edinburgh outdoor) 2nd week Fife War Games (Crail outdoor) Players of War (Falkirk outdoor) Airsoft Edinburgh (Landwarrior outdoor) The Fortress (FIFE Kirkcaldy indoor CQB)

  35. I heard stories (can't confirm these myself), that certain sites (cough Phoenix cough) were even going so far as to cater to his videos by placing players out in the open in those nice little groups you see in his videos. And that's why they're not running and screaming like normal airsofters.
