    Novritsch SSQ22 GBBR

Dear Mr. Novritsch Sir, I am a huge fanboy of yours, but I have a few questions about your new DMRSniper SSQ22. First let me say that I have never played airsoft, but I have tons of sniper experience by watching your videos and Kicking Mustang's (who is like an older brother to me, since he headshot me at his Meet N' Greet last month, which made me feel very honored). With the SSQ22, what BBs should I be using to shoot at least 300 meters? In your videos you shoot people from so far away and that made me want to also shoot people from so far away that they cannot see me. Also, what scope should I use that I can see people and they cannot see me since I am so far away? What are the best pre-upgraded upgrades that I should upgrade the SSQ22 with in order to have the best upgrades of any upgrades gun on the field? I have a budget of 25,000 but I think I only need to spend 10,000. I'm thinking I want a ghillie suit so I can be a ghillie sniper but I can't decide between orange and pink. I saw on Reddit that your stuff isn't very good and it's kinda overpriced, but I didn't believe them so I posted your website information which clearly states that all of your items are super high quality and are perfect for amazing snipers and riflemen too. And then I reported them all because no one should be allowed to say mean things like that. Also, they don't know anything on those forums, right? They said that your sniper rifle is made by someone named Modify, whose parents hated them to give their kid that name, and you don't actually make any of your rifles. I replied of course that you spend all your time building those rifles so you're too busy to answer their false accusations. And anyways that is just my short list of questions. I have a couple more letters planned but I have to wait for the answer to this one so I can frame them in order. Love, Smöll Timmy. Please note that this post is intended as a complete joke based on Novritsch's fan stereotypes, and not actually to hate on Novritsch himself or his products. I don't have a problem with the guy--his products aren't horrible, and while prices may be higher than what you could get by building everything yourself, most people can't build their own RIF and expect it to work well. edit I can't say the same for KM though--that guy has some issues, but this isn't the place for that edit

  3. So I spotted this on Gumtree and contacted the seller before the listing was deleted (anything gun shaped is forbidden to be sold there) The seller knows nothing about its history, so I gotta start somewhere I believe it’s made by Daisy, and was only in production for almost 1 year before they were forced to cease manufacture - apparently due to it being too realistic 😂 I can hardly find any mention of it online I dunno if it’s metal or plastic, seller is a bit vague other than it’s working. But it’s on its way to me! More a collectors piece than a skirmishable rif I think (not that I’m a collector , but couldn’t resist) Any of our veteran members able to shine a light on this please? these are the only pics I’ve got until it arrives…..

  4. Nearly bought an NY03 Lite because they looked cool and were a decent price on Patrolbase. Then I remembered those microwave oven door microswitch triggers and the inability to equip a decent ETU without modifications then thought better of it. I was in the market for a DMR - I would be looking at the Cyma M14 as per @Tackle's recommendation. I've seen a few in the 'real' on game days and they seem to be really solid performers.

  5. To the best of my knowledge, in 21+ years of playing, I've never owned a gnu fitted with a mosfet, & I've had (& still have) a shitload of them, with no detrimental effect on my ability to play. If your reason for wanting a mosfet is to lock something to single shot, be aware that most sites that have dmr specs insist on mechanical disablement of full auto rather than mosfet, such as modified selector plate etc.

  6. Above is solid advice. "Quick change" springs in airsoft often arent actually that quick to change, sure it's a handy thing that makes working on a gearbox easier but often not much more than that. I wouldnt let that put you off buying a gun you actually want. Same with rotary hops, nominally capable of finer adjustment than conventional hops but once you're at the level to leverage that advantage changing the unit will be a formality. Same again with barrels, the effect of nominal bore diameter on accuracy is very much secondary to overall manufacturing quality (consistency of bore along the length, straightness, interior finish etc) and pales in comparison to the requirement for the rest of the gun to be good enough to even notice the difference a "better" barrel can provide. Mosfets aren't the worst if you have basic soldering skills, even if you don't there are options to get around it, although learning to solder remains a useful skill in this hobby. Chasing accuracy is an entertaining pursuit, but no matter what you buy going in it'll be an expensive and difficult route filled with regret, pride and rage in equal measures.

  8. It's a lot of money for a G36 - but I never knew that I wanted a G36 with an MLOK rail so bad until now... Doesn't appear to be S&T/Ares based and the plastics (and barrel mounting) don't scream JG/CYMA. I'm wondering if its based on the WE 999K AEG.

  9. To throw a spanner in the works my DMR started as a Double Eagle M908A. I picked this for a few reasons... # The "Falcon" controller, which has cycle control, so zero gearbox lock-ups on semi. # A longer handguard so I knew it would support the inner barrel I wanted. # A solid metal receiver so that I could drill it and mount a bolt to lock it to semi only. # It has long wiring at rear so no issues with whatever stock and batteries I chose. ... and I'll happily admit that I've spent £200+ getting it to be almost all the way to what I want it to be. Edit: And here's a photo of it... https://i.imgur.com/z0AVJpA.jpg

  10. Cyma SR-25 is great. Out of the box it will perform fantastically and it hits all of the stuff you want from it: quick change spring, rotary hop unit and tightbore out of the box and a mosfet (however, you'd probably want to replace it at some point with a Perun or something because it's very simple, can't be programmed and will likely burn itself out eventually) And if you do want to DMR it, you basically only need to replace the spring as the internals are built for 460fps out of the box, they're just downgraded when they come into the UK.

  11. Arcturus Sport or NY06. All you need is a hop rubber, some stabilization mods, and maybe a stronger spring (comes with a QC spring guide, so no gearbox work required), and you're pretty much good to go. PDI W-hold and Modify rubbers work very well in the Arcturus hop unit when paired with any kind of flat nub mod, which can be performed in minutes. Depending on your DMR rules you may have to do something permanent, in which case the mod is relatively simple and shouldn't require any gearbox work. You just file the selector plate so the selector chip can't push it enough to turn to full auto. Either that or a simple washer blocking the selector plate from turning.

  14. Hi ParHunter, Looking back at my post I think I came across as a bit condescending - my apologies! Been a long week and head nipping from being nagged by kids etc. Respect for your service. There's lots of ex and even serving personnel in airsoft, quite a few at my site. Airsoft is pretty different from real steel in that in comparison accuracy is completely crap - we're dealing with 1/5th-1/2 gram plastic pellets shot from a smooth bore pneumatic device with an energy of only 1-2.5j, you could probably fart pellets harder. Mechanically airsoft guns aren't that complex, there's a lot of fear around the inner workings but they are really pretty simple. Honestly, best advice I could give is go and have fun Eezer G

  15. Buy cheap, buy twice Internally between all those brands there probably isnt much difference and theyre all much of a muchness... where you will notice a difference is the overall build quality and material of the RIF. I highly rate the Specna Arms ones, as Ive found they tend to be rock solid and dont suffer from the usual creaks and wobbles of long replicas. Cyma are also good value for money. I dont know anything about Double Bell but Id be apprehensive about them, thats the sort of brand Id take a gamble on buying one second hand cheap with the intention of it being utterly crap and replacing everything in it anyway. Quick change springs as already said arent really that useful. Unless youre playing at multiple sites, some of which allow you to run a 400-450fps DMR and others that dont, but in that case Id probably just buy two guns and have one for each, rather than faffing around changing a spring for each game weekend. Most require you to strip the gun down to the gearbox anyway by which point you may as well just open the gearbox up anyway, the biggest advantage is being able to remove the spring from the gearbox before opening it so it doesnt explode everywhere. Opening up a gearbox isnt as bad as it sounds, they only have like 3 moving parts and theres millions of good youtube tutorials on an M4/version 2 gearbox. You can get in line plug in Mosfets that dont require any soldering and just connect into your wiring between the battery and gearbox battery connectors but Ive no idea if theyre any good compared to those you solder new trigger contact wires on etc which would require opening the box up.

Personally I'd write off the chance of getting your pistol back, chalk it down to experience & life lessons, & be more focused on finding a new gf & mum in law, as the ones you've got sound like a liability & definitely not "keepers" 😏

  19. You'd be better forgetting any ideas of range/accuracy and just buying a decent beginner sub-£150 rifle or SMG (read: AR15/AK/MP5 etc) and learning how to play and getting into the sport before getting into more advanced play styles such as DMRs and Sniping. Many start out with big ambitions wanting to be a sniper/marksman having watched the movies or worse the YooChoob fannies like ThickingMudStain or NovitBitch with their heavily edited (read: false/embellished) videos. Reality is somewhat different. Firstly, "accuracy" is a misnomer in airsoft, if you can hit an A4-sized target at 25m you're doing pretty well. Secondly, sniping or DMRing is a very different play style, can be difficult and frustrating for beginners. Me, I find hiding in bushes dressed like a wookiee with a stonking great lance of a gun boring, but that's just me.

  22. Easy peasy lemon squeezy , get a CYMA M14 Socom, great out of the box, wee bit shorter than the standard m14 so still adept at urban sites, hi caps have big mag capacity so no need to festoon yourself in tactical nylon with a gazillion pouches, in fact a small grab bag & 3 mags would probably cover most skirmish day needs & make being a sneaky mofo a piece of piss. Works for me lol. Edit. Just see your "deal breaker", don't think quick change spring is an option (I could be wrong though ?), but still a great rifle for getting in the dmr/sniper mindset for not a lot of money.

  24. The bit i found was when you have a bipod fitted and realise you've just been mono-podding on the magazine the whole game....... New one for the list: landmines The sequence of events is as follows: 1. Plant landmine in sneaky spot 2. Inform team of location of landmine, to prevent freindly fire 3. Play game trying to be in vicinty of landmine, to watch the results. 4. One of 2 things happens: A. Freindly trips landmine, takes hit once he remembers you warned him landmines were a thing B. Enemy trips landmine, looks around confused, sees mine, plays on anyway

  26. [contraversial take] Anything noticably 3d printed, especially in an incongruous colour. "If all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail" You've all seen the pews i'm referring to..... [/Contraversial take] More realistically, bipods, because very few airsoft pews are capable of actually benefiting from having them fitted and they are otherwise dead weight. Although i suppose for some aesthetics is worth the penalty.

  27. After a couple of years of humming and hawing, my stunning and loving wife bought me this as a combined 10th anniversary/36th Birthday present. Finally joined the AK race with this CYMA 028U. I can now see why CYMA AKs are raved about so much. Excellent quality for the price, cycles lovely and crisp and by airsoft standards accurate and consistent. Not sure how it will fit in with my generic scifi Disaster Chief/Orbital Drop Short Trooper/DoomedGuy look, but no matter. Have already nicknamed it "The Lada" in homage to its Soviet/Commie heritage. Two-tone unfortunately however reckon I'll break out the halfords OD spray soon so it can fit in with its other comrades in my plastic armoury.

  29. I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that Double Bell/DBoys is the OEM for this G36. Some of the SSR63 accessories on Nov's site have Double Bell listed as manufacturer, and recent video reviews of the Double Bell/Dboys G36 show a metal outer barrel & barrel ring much like the SSR63 (and Ares/S&T/Specna) instead of the TM/JG/CYMA style plastic outer barrel/mock piston assembly. QD spring guide looks much the same too. So it's a £120ish gun with a cool rail system and some internal upgrades. I don't think it is stellar value, but it's arguably the best appointed out-of-the-box G36 at the moment. I think the G36 platform deserves more love. I've had a couple over the years and have regretted selling them (*he says looking at his growing pile of somewhat underused M4s*).

  30. Cheap G36 is best G36. That said, the feature list is fine, the QC spring is welcome, and that short pull trigger is intriguing - V3 triggers are a bit of a bête noire of mine. The marketing is a bit cringe, but that doesn't mean that it's not actually a decent toy. Out of my price range for a toy, but I wish him well with it.

  35. Same argument as "garaging" a nice car over winter. Genuinely dont see the point. Someone designed it (more or less!) to be used. Get in, start it up and drive it. Met a guy with an old porsche 911 that had 500,000+ miles on it. It just got used every day. It broke. He fixed it. kept going. Granted i dont have any rifs that go past £300 but theyre all there to be used.

  38. As part of my promise to get him to as many fields as we can before he leaves, the boy and I were there yesterday too. Was very impressed by the safe zone and the Marshalls. Struggled with the morning games which I am putting down to not knowing the map, and suffering a few technical issues (one of his AEG's was firing whilst in safe mode and without pulling the trigger, which I think is a dodgy mosfet) and my Double Eagle was more a Splatter Gun than a rifle. There were a couple of teenagers "shooting a video" which was their excuse for being thoroughly annoying by playing music during the game play, but I managed to keep out of their way for most of the day. Really enjoyed the last game as our team had to get a stretcher with kings hats on it, across the majority of the map with the Blue team, I assume, on a rolling retreat. My Specna was on form shooting nice and straight, but not as far as liked. Was pretty impressive to see the food van clearing the queue, and this was the biggest number I've seen on a gameday at one event too. We should be going back to AP for the two day event at the end of the month, although I'm not sure how my legs will cope. I have a thermal camera for work ,so that will make night ops an interesting one - although I'm a little worried about the lens LOL. Had a god day at Reforger the other week too, although I didn't get many kills. I nearly put an end to my chances of being a grandfather when I lobbed a smoke grenade to cover the Boy's final sprint to the objective (suicide bombing the plane) only for it to land short - right between his legs and nearly cauterised his family jewels. It's a shame we're out of sync with our regular sites' gamedays, but once SWMBO has fecked off for the summer I can sneak in extra days - but mum's the word on that one 😁.

    Novritsch SSQ22 GBBR

Saw a comment earlier on about how the A1 Raptor or the SSQ would be better than a stock KC02. For anyone that cares, this is nonsense because: •The Nov/A1A gun is made of the cheapest, heaviest and most brittle pot metal. There’s the leftover redundant front section from the A1A’s take down function, meaning the only thing that centres and retains the outer barrel assembly is the rail. •The “improved” tdc wheel has no tensioner. It’ll happily just adjust itself from the action of the bolt. •The A1A banana mags are infamously leaky, potential hand grenades. The KC02 mags are indestructible. •The Novristch team left behind several redundant parts from the A1A’s trigger box, one of these being the full auto sear. The split sear system in those full auto packs is terrible and I can see many of these guns refusing to fire in semi auto soon. • The roller bearing on the hammer is going to destroy the Chinesium bolt carrier on the SSQ22. Finally, the feedback I’ve had on the feel of the SSQ is that the quality of the plastics is comparable to a cheap Nerf gun. Stock KC = much better base gun for a build. If you’re curious about the Novristch, the sales section will be full of them soon. Rogueworx are designing a replacement hop unit and nozzle for this dumpster fire. Give it a year or so and the SSQ may be a good platform As a Brucey bonus for getting to the end of my wall of text, here are my own rather naughty KC02 builds. @Speedbird_666 Buy a KC, slap it in a Ruger stock and stand out as the guy with the all-American plinkster at your next game day

Have another airsoft content creator that people generally hate, but I was honestly surprised, as I expected him to shill it, but Kicking Mustang did a video on it saying that it's crap. I didn't plan on getting it anyway, as I have my MWS and my AKM and my mp9 (and plan on getting an mp7 and a mac11), so I don't need any more GBBRs, and I have seen other people say good things, but I guess only time will tell. I think the usual "don't buy the gen1" advice is the best way to approach it.

  47. And they just rolled out this masterpiece - a support gun with no bipod, a mock suppressor but no tracer, an angled foregrip to c-clamp that chonky front end but nothing to help hold it's weight, and a base gun that uses a V2 gearbox and not a support gun platform. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/bolster-armouries-atlas-advanced-support-gun-aeg All yours for £1499. I have seen a Bolster Armouries M4 thing in the 'real'. It was merely ok - nothing exceptional. And certainly not worth the wedge of cash it cost.
