  3. I use and have use a wide variety of bladder systems over the years, during various actives so ill try to help. Unless space in the carrier or the weight is a massive issue I'd rather have more storage and not use all of it than not have enough water. Removable tube is super useful For routing through straps and kit, as well as cleaning. If it isn't its not the end of the world camelbak and source hydration use the same size tubes and source do a retrofitting kit to make tubes removable and its very good if you want to. Better bladers don't affect the taste of the water, cheap ones do, must be the make up of the plastic. Both source and camelbak do tougher bladders for rougher use and I've not managed to pop one yet. Of the ones you listed I'd be going for the camelbak 3l version. Genuine camelbak and a sleeved tube.

  4. I alternate between propane and then the occasional spurt of green just to keep some lube flowing. Sure you can put silicone oil in the propane adapters but Ive got no idea how much of that actually ends up in your mag, pretty much everyone uses Colemans Fuel propane, usually £15-20 a bottle from various places online, quids in if you can find a place doing 2 for £20 or similar deal. The bottles are huge and last forever. You can also hit up your local B&Q/Wicks/Screwfix/generic hardware store and buy a can of blowtorch propane, just make sure it has the right threaded neck for the adapter, and that it is pure propane and not a propane/butane mix (should say very obviously on the can what it is). I dont remember why you shouldnt use butane, I think its something to do with either lacking the same power as propane, or potentially destroying your seals or something like that. And if youre a total cheapskate and really want to maximise your gas, you can refill the Colemans bottles off of a big 25kg bottle that will last your entire airsoft life but there is the chance your life in general will be cut unexpectedly short if you cock it up and blow the can up in your hand, so probably dont.

  5. There's some debate on how accurate testing gas effeciency is when dry firing. As for working out how much gas your mag takes/is using, weigh it. You can for example with a fresh bottle of gas and an empty mag, weigh the bottle before and after filling the mag, then after firing that mag (with bb's) dry, you can work out a ballpark for how many shots you're gonna get per can, at least for the gun, ammo and ambient conditions you're testing in. Ofc grams of gas per shot expended isn't the only metric that affects running costs. One thing to consider for co2 is that outside of the normal flow of events (ie install bulb, shoot until bulb is expended, replace bulb) then your consumption is gonna be dramatically higher; End of the day and you wanna remove a half-discharged bulb? That gas is gone Maybe you didn't remove the bulb from last game day, how much gas is left? Is it near full or are you gonna run out in 3 shots? Better change it to be sure. Is there a leak? Well every time you try to fix it and don't succeed that's a bulb. Whereas green gas? Just leave em at the end of the day, top em up the following weekend, and if there's a leak you don't need to waste an entire mag full of gas to test.

  6. Impossible to answer because it depends on so many things. I think if you can 2 or 2,5 mag on one refill that's pretty good in my book. One of the most efficient pistol I've ever had was an AAP-01 for obvious reasons. There is no slide to move.

  7. I got propane from tool station, By the volume of the bottle it works out cheaper than green gas, just stinkier And you’ll need a fill adapter

There is no more noble cause. I'd call it a win and move on, airsoft is more of an art than a science.

    Am I lacking the Juice?

Nah not really any reason, just enjoying learning to tinker around with my gun, so thought it would be a good target to aim for. I don't think I'll put anymore money in to the gun for now. I'm happy where its at. Was just worried I had really fucked up somewhere. I *think* I've done a good enough job. Just hard to tell

  16. Out of interest, how much shooting are you intending to do? I ask because even when I've run a pistol primary in CQB I've always ended up having green gas cans sort of spontaneously form in my gear bag faster than I can get through them. And even though I'm the meanest of lickpennies, I've never even considered the cost, at least next to all the other junk that we buy then barely use.

  18. You need a cleaning kit for the straw/hose bit. I can recommend the army surplus bag, but I would go for a cheap bladder/inner rather than try and clean it. I picked one up for about a fiver.

  19. Not worth the price of it when I can just chuck on a steel outer barrel on my normal version. Only difference then is the receiver itself which is not likely to break

  28. There were 4 units at redwolf. At least I browse through their GBB catalog quite often so I'm quite sure I'm among the early birds who found it in stock. I've waited for it for too long but I'm not one of the 4 because I already have my DX with UK customs right now (show mercy pls). I bought it from a private shop a week ago at a much lower price thanks to my mate in tw. I'm kindda confident that'll be the first DX landed in UK, or even Europe

  33. so some of you may know already but Double Eagle have released a more expensive AEG based on the success of the M9XX series but it's been updated with a new ETU and a complete metal build apart from the stock and a few other parts. It's based on the Aeroknox AX-15 platform (more here https://www.aeroknox.com/shop-2) I'll do a quick mini review: very solidly built and the Aeroknox parts make it look very Sci-fi. You are either going to love the look or hate it. In a sea of M4's it definately stands out from the other fish. The only plastic parts are the stock, trigger, pistol grip, rail panels and detachable sights and the stock is the same model used on the M9XX series. It has a slight wobble on the stock pipe but nothing to write home about. The sights are flip up style, similar to the MBUS Pro sights, but have an additional sight built in, similat to pistol sights, which means you can use them when folded down. (if you can read the tiny text on the sights they are called the DBS-1 Battle sight). The bolt locks back and you can adjust the rotary style hop when it's locked back. The charging handle is actually a normal M4 style one unlike the raptor style that comes with the majority of the M9XX series. The bolt release allows the fake bolt plate to shoot forward when pressed. The mag release is extended and works very well. Actually wish I had it on a few other rifles after using it. The fire selector is funky looking and the markings are very much Playstation markings. It works very well and has a solid click into each position. It comes with a 120 BB midcap PMag style magazine. It fits and works fine. I've chucked a few different mags at it and the only one that has issues is the KWA midcaps as they don't lock in. This might be because of the micro switch inside the magwell but I'm not sure. The micro switch is for mag detection and if you enable it the mag will stop firing after 30 BB's and you need to remove the mag and put it back in to allow the AEG to fire again. My only gripe with the whole thing (AEG, Kestral ETU and App) is this feature. I'd find it really useful if the 30 BB cut off could be adjusted for any number. I would work better for me if I could pick 115BB's as the cut off and never worry about running dry when using 120 round midcaps. Talking of the ETU, it connects without any issues and works very well. You can adjust the AEG to run just how you want it and you get loads of stats if that's you thing. The gearbox is the same as the other M9XX gearboxes so it's solid and well put together. The only difference being the Kestral ETU replacing the Falcon ETU. My opinion, for what it's worth, is it's priced to be a mid-range AEG because it is a mid-range AEG. Out the box it works very well but I'm sure there are some who will be thinking about swapping out the Hop rubber and inner barrel (hops well for me currently on 28's). It looks like it was designed by a 15 year old (Aeroknox's fault not DE) but it grows on you. It's very pointable and has decent weight to it but not too heavy. The kestral does what it says on the tin and I can now see how many BB's I wasted trying to hit a guy behind a tree. It's about £70 more than the closest M9XX series AEG so that will put some people off but in saying all this I kinda like it.
