Floperator and 7 others reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic

Nope. Sorry they will have seen you do it through your TV. They are on their way round as we speak. Your only chance is to run I'm afraid. Go NOW..... 😉😊5 points

@Kieronwf there is absolutely nothing wrong with a bone stock M4 or 416 Recoil. 55M is not to be sniffed at. What you are getting with a Recoil is; - Recoil obv - TM reliability - The best AEG hop unit ever (M4/416/Scar) - Firing stop on empty - Great build quality You will want to run it on 7.4 LiPo - simple From there run it and see how you get on. Easy external mods are; Prommy 6.03 barrel - fps increase Super Nub/Omega with 0.25 BBs After that it gets silly but good.2 points

Welcome back Kieron For that kind of money look into the TM NGRS range. Can't comment on the performance or if they benefit from any mods because I've never spent that much on a pew. Personally I don't think its worth it... As said by others, research SpecnaArms, CYMA and G&G which produce decent quality ones which are far cheaper. (They don't have recoil or hold on empty though)2 points

I remember a group of us buying about 8 guns and a tonne of parts from RSOV and it arrived in two boxes that where the size of coffins. Best day ever!2 points

When do you need a MOSFET?
Rogerborg and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
it's generally best to leave a gun alone especially if it's your first/only pew. whilst a lot of ootb pews have less than perfect shimming, they're generally good enough for purpose. the risk is opening up the gun first time is fraught with the potential for making mistakes on reassembly and messing something up. whilst that's just part of the learning process i can say from experience (having not listened when being told this back in the day) that the walk of shame gets real old the tenth time you've done it when your latest build/experiment hasn't gone to plan and left you with a pew that's either performing terribly or straight up not working at all.2 points -

Recommendations - £600 Budget for AEG
Kieronwf reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
I wouldn't bother about recoil tbh. I have used them, but stopped noticing the effect as soon as gameplay began. If I was spending £600 tomorrow and wanted reliability, performance and durability, I'd get a non-recoil, non-ETU G&G M4. A decent barrel, rotary hop and rubber/nub swap is a ten minute job. Plug and play Burst Wizard 4 mosfet and away you go. A high torque motor is another five minute job, and difficult to fuck up, if you really want to go to town. Rifs have come on so much that over £150 price and quality have less and less of a relationship. I was amazed at how well my CYMA M14 shot out of the box. It was less than £100 from TG a few years ago. All that said TMs are bloody lovely. You have a lot of choice atm IF you can find something that you really like in stock.1 point -

TM NGRS. Have a look at their 416, m4 and mk18 if you like AR style platform. No need to upgrade until something breaks.1 point
-
If you want an AK THIS is available, i built this for @alxndrhll. It is a beauty inside and out, 65M range. If you want an AR to be the best tool possible you really need a TM Recoil IMO. It depends what you want from you gun straight out the box. If you want a reliable accurate 55M gun then a stock Recoil will do it. If you want more than that then you’ll need to upgrade any gun (other than a TM MWS), which takes time and money. @Kieronwf where are you planning on gaming, do you prefer field or CQB?1 point

For £600 I'd want more than a MOSFET, I'd expect a full on optical controller with cycle control and pre-cocking etc. You could potentially spend say £300 on a platform you like and then it to Negative Airsoft for him to work his magic?1 point
-
Haha 🤣 Well it does belong to me lol. But no I don't want a bb hose pipe. I couldn't afford to keep it fed lol. I think it must be a faulty chronograph although the fps is reading fairly good 🤔 Regards1 point

Yep, as Hamster said, best not to tinker at first and just enjoy how it comes (unless it performs really badly then inform retailer) Changing plugs to Deans is good if you know how but not critical. Wait until you have a second toy as backup or if something breaks before exploring the wonderful world of teching.1 point

Dan Robinson reacted to Skara for a topic
You just need a buffer tube and butt plate (the one with sling attachment loops). Both can be bought for €20 or less, then add whatever stock you want. Keep in mind that you may need longer wires because afaik the "pdw" versions may have shorter wires installed.1 point -
Yeah a MOSFET can be advantageous if you want fancy stuff like Burst, ActiveBreaking, Pre-Cocking etc. If you don't need all that and you're using 7.4v batteries, something else will fail in the gearbox LONG before the trigger contacts become a problem so better to upgrade everything when you have to get in there to fix something.1 point

When do you need a MOSFET?
EDcase reacted to bitofanidiot42 for a topic
I think I’ve learned what I came here for. My conclusion is that a 7.4 Lipo will give a higher rpm than a 7.2 but the fps is always the same, I should probably get an m90 and hack away at the gearbox. It doesn’t matter too much for the rpm as my local site seldom allows full-auto. As for MOSFET’s, they are for high power batteries to stop the carbon hurting the gun so quickly. They can be expensive and fancy and programmable or cheaper but not absolutely necessary for a cheaper gun as replacing the trigger contacts isn’t the end of the world (although they are becoming harder to find in the U.K.).1 point -

Watts is the amount of energy over time, amps is how much energy is being supplied. Ignore Watts for this purpose. Its volts and mah. Another way to look at it is to compare to a gas gun.... Volts equal your pressure. Mah equal your storage capacity. Watts would be how much gas is discharged per shot so equal to the piston of an aeg.1 point -

Nope, think what the motor is doing. Its pulling back a piston against a spring until it releases at a certain point. If it does it quickly or slowly doesn't matter much as it will release at the same point so the BB will be pushed with the same amount of air. The only thing that will change is the time to next shot as the system cycles faster with more juice. The 7.2v NiMh may struggle to actually pull the piston back against the spring so much more likely to get a locked gearbox where its partially pulled back but doesn't have enough juice to finish the cycle. Major pain... Li-Po's have more current so even though its 7.4v it still has more power. Think of it like a garden hose. The voltage is the diameter of the pipe and the current is the water pressure.1 point

I’m confused and my head’s spinning, my grasp on electricity is not good! Why do amps matter and not watts? Isn’t current just watts or amps? I’m probably making a fool of myself but everything I search up doesn’t seem to make sense, I just know that volts is the amount electricity that can get in and amps are how fast the electricity is flowing.1 point -

I guess the coyness just adds to the thirst. Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1674678976115452/posts/3058704781046191/ "Well throwing out a warning to realy do your research on techs hopefully you can learn from my mistake" Only if you tell us who it was... "since I'm the victim I'm happy to make this fucker famous" ... go on then... "Dave Gisbourn of Blackpool calls him self phantom Well your good parts will be spirited away and replaced with junk know he has burnt a few lads in the nw found out after he is a walter mitty" More details and WTAF images. I can't really be bothered to find contact details for this chap or I'd invite him to exercise his right of reply here. While searching, I did stumble across an entirely unrelated tech page by Leicestershire Airsoft, offering "Service including strip down" Which is frankly more interesting than finding out about yet another pufreshun aersoft tecknishun doing bits-box bodges.1 point

21yrs for me my 1st gun was a 4th or 5th hand TM M16 that the front end wobbled like a leaf in the wind no matter how tight you tried to get it ! 😳 who used to buy their gun from RSOV/Gunner/WGC that used to arrive doing 400+fps all the time pre UKARA ? You’d get that letter from parcel farce saying your parcel from Hong Kong was at your local Depo and you had to go and pick it up from there and you possibly may have got caught and have to pay some charges(they’d usually say something like ‘toy parts with a value of $10 on this honking big box !🤦♂️) on it ! 🤬 🤣🤣🤣1 point

Aliexpress FleaOTech 3x magnifier. Very definitive click when flipped to the side, perfectly clear to look down. EOTech logo is a bit bigger than my Holy Warrior XPS & has a slightly shinier finish overall, but great otherwise. My stock is slightly shorter than a buffer tube, so don't need to have it as far back.1 point
