They said it couldn't be done.... ('They' being the voices in my head) After a lot of prep work looking at the inside and outside of the handguard, and looking at various bits of RIS rail on sale (before settling on one of the simplest ones), I've finally managed to bodge engineer my stubby grip onto my F2000, as per my Battlefield 4 in-game loadout. (I couldn't find a tri-rail that I thought would look the same and that I could actually fit, so had to go for a single rail... but I still wanted the 'hanging off the front of the gun' look) I'm sort of blowing my own trumpet, perhaps a small one, such as the type often found in Christmas crackers... but it really isn't bodged, it feels absolutely damn solid. In fact it was so solid that after all the work I did carving out plastic and getting everything 'just so', it actually felt good-to-go without any of the screws and bolts and washers and plates I expected to put in. I put most of them in anyway and now I can pick up the gun by the front grip without any undue concern. I wouldn't want to fall on it, or do anything too drastic, but... very pleased with it. Inside the handguard are a couple of chunks of wood which help locate the RIS against some of the internal ribs which I cut / Dremel appropriately. They're screwed into the handguard. There's a bolt through the rail and the one of the chunks through to the top of the handguard. I actually just used a craft knife to remove most of the plastic, my cheapo Dremel looky-likey just didn't cut it. Ha ha. Ho ho... I'm here all week.4 points -

I have an FRV shooters belt from a couple of years ago, last November I noticed that one of the stitches on the MOLLE section had come away. I sent them some photos, exchanged a couple of emails and returned the belt. A few days later it is back with me and repaired free of charge. Seems I was lucky given that fulfilling new orders is such a struggle now. Given the developments in technology and materials and the experiences of those on this thread I would be looking at a C2R now!2 points

Little knowledge nugget: TM MWS all stock except for Crazyjet barrel* ASG gas and temp around 19deg shooting 0.30g BBs. FPS is over 5shots, equivalent for 0.20g shown in brackets. (350fps 0.20g == 285fps 0.30g == 1.13J) G&P Green nozzle set to: Minimum (almost fully closed) - 255fps (312fps) Maximum (fully open) - 305fps (373fps) I have replaced the plastic grub screw which was starting to split along the screwdriver slot with a 3mm x 6mm stainless grub screw (1.5mm hex key) and some blue Loctite to keep it in place. A blob of super glue on the end stops it unscrewing all the way and flying down the barrel (a la AngryGun v1 nozzles) Screwing it out a couple of threads seems to keep it around 265-270fps (allowing for the sites chrono to differ from mine!) *crazyjet barrel adds 15-20fps over the stock TM one on 0.30g / Greengas2 points

I know the stock, i have one too. With that stock it can be tricky as the rubber pad effectively steals some space. To make life easier long term id suggest removing the stock and unplug the mosfet, then unscrew the buffer tube (long screw driver needed inside the tube, castle nut is fake) then unplug the spade connectors freeing the mosfet and wires. Once you have the mosfet out of the tube wrap the wiring around your finger a few times a, ease the wiring into a spiral. It'll use up the slack and not put any kinks in it. You'll also be able to get the mosfet connector back through it and the screw too when it comes to refitting. lipo wise, if you can't two cells down one side then 1 cell will have to go in the centre tube. But the new spring type shape in the wiring should mean it'll squash down a bit easier. sorry for the long post, a know a video might be easier but it's all I can offer at the moment. if all else fails have a look at the pts eps,2 points -

Yeah I spoke to the owner today in SHOT and top guy, but the female 1" split bar should come with the PC so people can use other placards, it's what everyone else I know of does if their system is buckles vs g hooks lol. I think it's down to the company being new to this era of kit and they've not quite realised how much else is out there and the fact people will wanna use other compatible brands, at least I hope so.2 points -
Frv Tailoring - Anyone Getting Deliveries?
Paul72 and one other reacted to shadowfacex for a topic
It’s a shame, because the quality of FRV products is solid. I have their range belt and it’s one of the best pieces of my gear, second only to my Magpul MS3 Gen2 sling. I wanted a duffel bag from them, but reading this topic has made me look elsewhere. If anyone has any recommendation for a similar quality gear made in the UK, please do let us know here. I do hope the owner of the biz gets a grip on reality and maybe invests in some business management courses or gets external help quickly. Otherwise I don’t see much future in the way things are run there right now.2 points -
My own placard made by FirstSpear - Ammo Hub A1
Unreal Warfare reacted to TheFull9 for a topic
Truly shameless self promotion alert - also aimed very much at the military so forewarning if you're not in to kit that's way OTT for airsoft. If I may I'd like to present the Ammo Hub A1, a supremely modular placard that at the core level is designed to be the foundational basis for carrying your primary mags either on the front of a PC or built up to a chest rig. I get that from the picture that it really doesn't look like much, but please believe me when I say the design is done in such a way that there are 10s of thousands of potential setups you can build and the aftermarket integration features of the placard are done such that the interfaces are super sleek and tucked away - mostly they comprise of slots and various velcro areas. It takes any mag insert with hook velcro on both sides like Spiritus and HSP so it'll work for ARs, AKs and all SMGs just like the other micro rigs many of you will be familiar with. I'm not currently aware of a PC with placard integration on the front that this cannot attach to. It can take different top and side attachment buckle options as well as any PALS pouches on the front, sides and base and Tubes compatible dangler pouches/sub loads. It can be stacked on top of itself or mounted side by side with itself if you buy 2 and want that capacity and capability. Any back strap or harness that uses industry standard 1" buckles can be attached but the side attachment loops can be tucked away entirely when used on a PC. If you have a cummerbund that includes FS Tubes it can clip in directly to the placard rather than the front plate bag for maximum security (extra Tubes purchase req'd); but if that doesn't apply for your PC there's also a way to strap the bottom of the placard to the bottom of the plate bag. Because of its' size it can be slightly curved even with 3 AR mags stored and it will stick to your PC/chest rig base better than most other similar products. The Ammo Hub is very very light and kept slim by the use of FirstSpear's specific 6/12 cordura/loop velcro laminate fabric while still being made to meet or exceed the specs required for military applications in terms of strength and durability of both materials and stitching. The hub is shown here mounted to the front of an FS Plate Carrier with 3 EMAGs stowed inside: The first small batch will only be in MC and will available around late feb/early march. There's are no 2 ways about it though, it will be expensive. You're looking at something roughly in the region of $60-70 (exact details TBC) for the basic setup with just top attachment buckles and you'll then need an insert of your choosing to retain mags, but I'd imagine a lot of interested folks will already own compatible ones. At least at first they'll only be available from FS in the states but of course I'll work with shops like Tactical-Kit to bring it to the UK if the desire is there and the opportunity arises. If there's desire in the market then more colours will be shortly forthcoming and I have lots of ideas for my own harnesses/back straps and expander wings etc to compliment the wide variety already available out there that are compatible from the likes of Ferro, Spiritus and Haley. NB - There is actually room for 5 x SMG mags like MP5 and ARP9. I'll be gradually talking about and showing all the many features in depth and close up over the coming weeks on my business IG/FB page so feel free to follow if you'd like to know more: https://www.instagram.com/f9gear_/ https://www.facebook.com/F9-Gear-1052134953499201 point -

Cursed gun: inconsistent shots untill it "heats" up

May sound silly but have you checked your chrono is reading as you'd expect it with your other guns? I had one that started giving seemingly random readouts. At first I thought it was the gun but bought another and was getting the results I expected.1 point -

Cursed gun: inconsistent shots untill it "heats" up
Rogerborg reacted to concretesnail for a topic
If the braking isn't an issue something else is affecting how the nozzle seats when the piston drops. I'd look change the maxx units out for something else and also look to change the spring that pushes the hop unit back to the gearbox. It could be combination of things like the feed tube slightly lifting the hop away or spring not strong enough or long enough to reseat the hop chamber1 point -

Prescription Eye pro's
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Captain Darling for a topic
Can do, depends on the weather. As for airsoft, I had a eye near miss for the first time in 17 years of playing a couple of weeks ago. It was at a CQB site in Derby, and I foolishly broke cover and ran across an open doorway only to get pre fired by some tights wearing HPA hicapa spammer who was lying on the floor and put a line of bb’s into my face out of his/her/it’s stupid M4 magazine. The eye pro took the brunt, but a stray bb hit my eye socket in the gap between my ballcap and my specs and left me dazed and a gnarly black eye formed overnight. I wear prescription Oakleys which don’t seal to my face, but have got away with that for years. It’s at my own risk, but it’s probably foolish. My main error was going to a silly CQB site and exposing myself to a lot more risk than I usually do. In retrospect, I’d say wear high quality full face for CQB. I’m never going to that kind of hell hole, it’s not what I play airsoft for and is just too unrealistic. I’m sticking with my prescription Oakleys and being very picky about when I stick my neck out as a target. I like to try and treat airsoft like real life and not run out into obvious potential lethal danger, and as such I don’t get hit very often when playing. I do a lot of milsim, and this Dye type paintball PPE just doesn’t work with NVG or respirator’s either.1 point -
Sight
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Yes, I do! I lusted after one of those (for no good reason). I ended up with a BSA Reflex sight to go alongside my Viking 4x32. (not my pic, but I still have the sight, with half the mount missing) That reflex sight was actually pretty decent for plinking at cans at 30-40yds, but I always reverted to the scope on my occasional pigeon hunts.1 point -
Battery fit issues - TR16
Paul72 reacted to concretesnail for a topic
Which lipo are you trying to fit and which tr16 model stock is it? With out seeing it and assuming a crane type stock, I'd suggest making any excess for the rifs harness is kept to in the tube space and then drop the battery lead down and up the rear ff the stock pad, towards the tube. You should be able to make a gentle curve of the wiring so you don't kink it.1 point -

I remember those. I didn't know how they worked at all. Now I know I'm glad I never got one! Bloody hell, imagine the disappointment on Christmas morning. Red_Dot_Engineering do custom sight protectors for less than a tenner. Same people on E -Bay that do that ultra neat slip on one. I'm just ordering one for my '70s Sterling 4x40 TV screen lensed 'wideview' if you remember those. Another silly '70s fashion.1 point -

You can remove the “gas tube” but will need to retain the front sight / gas block to hold the front of the hand guard on. You can get front gas blocks with fold down front sight that are lower profile.1 point

THE TM MWS thread
Paul72 reacted to PewPewLoki for a topic
It is indeed. Just a solid metal stick for appearance's sake. Looks nice and realistic when you can see it running through the inside of an M-Lok handguard, but hardly a functional part.1 point -
It's pretty damn awesome! Bolt's a bit liable to not catch if you don't pull it back hard enough, and the bayonet lug is a tad bit big to fit a bayonet, but those are the only two things so far at least. Oh don't worry, we shall be doing games in the trenches and there shall be plenty of mud in future! This was my first game in the full kit 😁 (And I have no money now 😂)1 point

SSPKali reacted to EvilMonkee for a topic
Would only be controversial if you wear badges and berets on it you haven't earned. Doesn't bother me overly being currently serving but it does some people. If you wanna walt as the RAF Regiment then that's your (slightly weird) lifestyle choices chum, as far as I am concerned! What does annoy me is airsofters buying gear that is on the restricted list currently, so things like the latest model of body armour etc that should really still be with HM Forces. Essentially, its theft.1 point -
Help from the experienced about purchasing a M1A1 THOMSON
Paul72 reacted to ginger colin for a topic
Hi I was in Hong Kong in 2013 when I picked this up. It is the cyma version licensed by cyber gun. I think they promptly relaunched as snow wolf. I kept the press cuttings on smashing the factory up and reviews on the gun. Its a bit of a collectors piece and the paperwork backs that up... hence I only ever test shot it. I'm not sure on the value. I might look for an appraisal1 point -
First, hello there! I've been having issues with this gun for 7 months already, been using it but it keeps frustrating me that its not working how it should. It was Specna Arms E19 with its orion gearbox...poop gearbox cracked, replaced it with retroarms cnc gearbox and thats when problems started...one would think ok thats the problem, all the parts are the same from old gearbox and what changed is the shell...but i tried different shell aswell, same problem. Can't find anyone else with same problem. Today got sick of it and decided to make a video and either fix the problem or sell everything and give up on all tech work and just plant potatoes in my garden and live a simple life. Opened up quite a bit of gearboxes v2,v3,v6 in the past 2 years, they all ended up working ever since...but what i cant fix is my own gun 1st shot low fps 2'nd shot good fps next shot-low next shot-good etc... Untill i spam semi/full auto and after that it is alright for awhile(untill i stop shooting for couple of minutes) Curent build on M4 MK18 Specna Arms E19: Jefftron Leviathan with active braking and cycle microswitch,so the cut off lever is out Barrel: 6.02 Stainless Steel 270mm ZCI,same problem on stock barrel aswell Gearbox: Retroarms CNC V2 Gearbox Maxx hopup: tried changing to 2 others >same outcome HOP UP: Maxx adjustable nozzle - tried 3 others m4 nozzle, >same outcome Bucking: Maple leaf macaron 60*(yellow) - tried maple leaf green and madbull red shark > same outome Gears: 18:1 short stroked gears - tried 2 other sets and without short stroke > same outcome Spring: M130 > same problem with weaker ones and non-SS gears Tappet plate: Reinforced Tappet Plate V2 [FPS SOFTAIR] Orange - Tried stock and 2 others Motor: Tornado F1 High Torque Gen.2 Motor, same problem with stock motor Cylinder: stock SA,tried 2 others Piston: SHS blue one with metal teeth Piston head and cylinder head are mushroom type, had same problems with stock aswell -Changed o-rings on everything, compression is excellent(when i hold the nozzle with finger and push piston) -Tappet plate is moving freely inside the gearbox, not getting stuck on something as far as i can see -Different mags dont make difference either -Praying in front of the gun didnt do anything either The main mistery is that it shoots 1 good,1 bad,1good etc...untill i have a feeling something "heats up" and then it shots perfectly every hit...if its some mis-alignment or tappet plate issues it would keep on being broken and not get "fixed" once i get frustrated and shoot a bit xD Open to ANY suggestions, can quickly open up gearbox and take pictures and check whatever needed as long as it makes sense. Posted on couple more forums/threads so will update quickly if there is progress.0 points
