  1. The stock is now properly weathered using steel wool, it has 4 coats of stain and 2 coats of mineral oil.

  2. Getting the retro band back together. All these are accurate takes on uksf AR platforms the best I can for AEGs. Sorry for poor phone pic. From top to bottom..... Colt model 715 (later known as C7) Diemaco L119A1 Colt model 725 (later known as C8)

  3. I’ll be honest mate doesn’t look ‘used’ to me , just looks like a really crappy staining job . Having used a real wood furniture’ed gun I’d say you’ve got the worn sections going in too many different directions and just too randomly placed on the stock to replicate wear through use over time . when you look at any old wooden bodied guns the wear’n’tear is near always in specific areas and generally only going in one or two directions . Just my two pennies worth . 👍

  4. Would appear being off sick from work really does set off the ‘idle hands’ syndrome , been playing around with the 177 AGAIN ! 🤦‍♂️

  5. Figured I'd share a few shots of my latest pickup, really happy with how it looks/feels. Now all I need is to get the folding stock and hook, then I'm sorted!

  6. Looking at gas shotguns to HPA and I was looking at two versions from golden eagle. I was told the stock tube version can leak more then the grip one? Also how hard is it to work on them? I read they have lots little small parts. Grip gas tank version. Stock tube gas tank version.

  7. I went and took a closer look and some of them are laminations showing, I think I'm gonna try to stain those parts with a cotton swab to get an even finish and then try to re-weather based on an old shogun hanging on my wall. (if you tell me why I didn't do that in the first place you win 5000 £) I'll get back to this thread when that's done. PS: wasn't trying to accuse you of anything, perhaps bad choice of words. Not a native english speaker here.

  8. Wasn’t having a go at you bud , just if you post up a picture to show of something you’ve done your not going to get everyone kissing your arse over it . You are getting negative as well as positive feedback , hence I said what I saw wrong with it from my point of view . got pic here for you demonstrating what I mean about the weathering affecting specific areas .

  9. I never said it was a good job, I just said it was weathered I've never done this before, we all gotta start somewhere It's also a laminate stock so I'm not entirely sure how close to a real stock it can get

  10. Kinda key point I've not seen mentioned; a strobe's of little effectiveness and personally I found that they're somewhat distracting to the user too. Certainly don't aid aiming that much compared to a normal light. The people who really know what they're doing and have access to all the kit they could ever desire don't use them, better off to just learn how to actually setup a weapon mounted light so it's accessible and practical, then learn how to actually use that light the right way. Oh and make sure it's protected from hits and you actually have good batteries. Oh and spare batteries. And.... A light with plenty of umph does the job of essentially hiding your exact position to the person you're lighting up if they're much at all adjusted to the dark, despite what the urban myths say.

  12. the reason the system isn't that powerful in general is because the gas has a restricted flow and compensates for it on the last shot Ive seen a few modded to take shells loosing the 24 shot system but shooting with more poke. Nice thing about the kwc its shells are removable unlike the tm.

  13. Americans can only buy the Umarex licensed Glocks. The WE G series cannot be imported. But some Americans get round this by importing privately. We don't have that problem here. People who buy the Umarex usually do it for the trades. People who buy the WE do it because it is inexpensive, reliable, and, unlike the VFC, a clone of the TM. It also has parts availability second to none. If you can't live with the plastic of the TM Glocks, and don't want to upgrade parts, the WE is the best buy of the pot metal ones.

  16. I've already got one, it was a suggestion for the OP. 😃

  18. We'll start the bidding at two camels 🐪🐪 The classifieds here is probably the safest as you can check how long a potential buyer has been registered and how active they've been. You can also ask for UKARA and check it at FireSupport.

  20. I think OP is planning to fit one. Not a single mosfet in any of my aeg's just more bloody tech to go wrong !

  21. Well, you don't need a mosfet in any AEG. Even if you're running 11.1V and concerned about arcing, the cheapest mosfet will run you more than two new sets of trigger contacts. The X-ASR in my Specna is coming out, it's only causing me trouble with aftermarket motors.

  23. Arktis have a good sale on for black Friday if you want some more obscure camos like Swedish M90 or even high-speed modern DPM kit. https://store.arktis.co.uk/collections/sale-clearance

  24. The TM looks great 👍 Once you have the stock it will be complete 😁 I got a CYMA M870 folding stock and grafted it onto an ASG SPAS It worked out quite well and luckily I'm not worried about accuracy to the real one 😄

  25. Yep, it was a wee green missile that used to shoot out of the 203. His sidearm was an M9. My kids sometimes play with my old Action Man stuff so I've found all these things all over again. There's also a tacticool MP5 with what looks like some sort of sight and a light below the barrel... see it all in a different light now. As much as I love sci fi, I also love the old school guns sans rail systems and all that fancy jazz that festoons "modern" builds. Nothing quite like a simple M16A2 or early M4 with the standard nonrailed handguard, or a classic AK. MP5A4 or Scorpion for that lean look. Pistol wise for me it's classic 1911 (non-MEU etc) or Deagle all the way. Will get lynched for this but I'm not a fan of Glocks, Hi Capas and the like...

  26. Nice collection that 👌 The top one is my favourite. Always reminds me of plating with Action Man as a kid as that's what he used! All it would need is a nice big scope on the rail and it would be perfect.

  27. Welcome Check HERE for sites near you. Its also worth going into google maps and type 'airsoft' to search around your area. Don't worry about going on your own. Most of us started that way and within a couple of games you'll see familiar faces and likely get to know a group. Chat to people at the tables and you'll soon find the ones who are worth talking to. It doesn't matter much because during the games you just go with whoever you want and usually get split up anyway. Do LOTS of reading on the forum to get more info on gear and purchasing priorities (Hint: It isn't a pewpew 😉) Enjoy...

  28. At the other end of the spectrum, I sometimes call hits only to realise a moment later it was likely some debris falling from the trees.

  29. Like you I use custom molded when I'm riding, and before that I used foams, I've always preferred helmets with lots of venting and the wind noise is killer long term. I do love the bang and booming of pyro and I'm surprised how many people I see playing that don't use hearing protection, I treat mine like eye pro. Once it's gone, it's gone kind of thinking. On the peltor front though I certain recommend the gel cups, they are so much better than the foam.

  30. That's what's stopping me from ordering right now. I don't have much luck with in-ears, either for audio or hearing protection, and ended up silicone-moulding custom earplugs for biking. It's amazing how many bikers don't even consider hearing protection. It's a very slow, steady damage from wind noise (and open cans) rather than from one big obvious bang, so it's easier to ignore. I should actually just use my moulded plugs for airsoft, it's not like anyone says anything worth hearing anyway. Oh, and Mk9s and 12 gauge magflash blanks can sod right off, there is absolutely no need for that level of noise. As with 40-Mikes and "no full auto in buildings bro" wanker guns, they're a lot more fun for those sending them out than those experiencing them coming in.

  31. Forged 6061-T6 upper/lower receiver Viper Tech BCM MCMR GBBR. M-LOK handguards, receiver pins, buffer tubes and buffers, buffer springs, gas blocks, and pistol grips are original parts from Bravo Company and V Seven. I installed Aimpoint AB's T2 Red Dot Sight(with Scalarworks LEAP) and Vortex's Micro 3X Magnifier on the upper receiver rail.

  32. What sort of temperatures are you shooting in? I have an Umarex Glock 19X and I've always been amazed how well it performs when I've shot indoors at home or briefly in the garden. However I used it last Saturday and noticed the same issue once it was properly cold. The slide moved back every time but it only racked a BB every second shot.
