Not a single one of my RIF's has a mosfet ( more bloody electronics to go wrong , I hate tech ! ) and they all run 7.4 Lipo's . Biggest thing to be aware of is not over discharging the battery. If I use the same gun all day I change the battery at lunch time.4 points

Most of, if not all ?, of my guns are older generation kit, before mosfets became a "thing", & I run them all on 7.4 lipo's without any issues, did have an 11.1 but stopped using it as it spun everything waay to quickly for my liking.3 points

One of the things I found during my first few games is that I was finishing the day with a headache, although I was packing litres of water away during the day and having lunch. Unfortunately water doesn't replace the electrolytes you use during the game and lose through sweating. I take a 4 pack of lucozade sport now, as they were my go to drink when I used to play football, finish the day headache free now!2 points

G&P RIS Rail and G&P scope mount fit fine. A saddle bag 7.4v Lipo can be fitted in the front RIS however I might need to shorten the wires slightly for it to look a bit better. *edit - A suystema TW5 full stock will fit with a bit of dremeling or sanding.2 points -
@Vialli, definitely get 7.4v Li-Po's [1300mAh or higher that will fit] ...and a good charger. (SkyRC S60) Of my 16 AEGs, only one has a MOSFET. All use 7.4v except the Lonex BAW which uses 11.1v because of the recoil system but it doesn't have a MOSFET. The main downside of not using a MOSFET is arching on the trigger contacts will eventually damage the surfaces possibly to the point of not making good contact anymore but that would take a VERY long time. Using 11.1v will obviously accelerate the process so I'll have to keep an eye on that but even so it will take a long time to have a noticeable effect. Pulling the trigger slowly is worse for this situation.2 points

Yeah but I really can't understand that. What's not to like? For myself I pay my money, get dressed up go along have a great time, chat, drink some coffee and maybe get a few hits during the day which is a bonus. I'm under no illusions as to my abilities. I may as well have a flashing beacon on my head because my prowess at concealment is sadly lacking. I can't lay down( I would probably have a sleep if I did),kneeling is a pain and there are very few trees wide enough or my shape as to provide cover lol. But I'm not there to win prizes for fashion or form. It's because I like it. 👍 Regards2 points -

The new TM NGRS mp5. Had my first game last Sunday with it and as with all TM guns it obviously shoots amazing out the box but with the new MOSFET system, just a huge improvement on trigger response and no lock ups on semi which essentially saves the need for a titan. Trigger pull is short which is nice with good spring tension and the fire selector has a firm click and no play between each setting which is unlike any other AEG mp5 unless your lucky enough to have a TW5. Converted to a SD straight out the box as that's my preferred mp5 variant. I jubilee clip a lower kac rail with a stubby tango grip and looking at sourcing a eotech for the devgru look. As my user name suggests I love mp5s grew up seeing them in films and TV shows, I normally run a MWS as performance wise it's hard to beat but the build quality and performance of the mp5 is outstanding so I bumped the FPS up out the box so its now up there with the MWS and I personally feel like the MWS will start gathering dust now ha.2 points
-
Yes did build up a SD6. Finished it last night came out lovely. Wasn't too hard to build if you can get original ICS parts and have access to a lathe to build an adapter. Longer barrel and new spring bumped my FPS up too 340 so looking forward to using it tomorrow for its first outing. Also fitted my magpul guard and gemtech QD suppressor from my other ngrs mp5 I built myself to see what fitted and they went straight on. I have a real steel sliding stock that I wanna try out but I think only the rails of the stock will fit with some milling so I might stick with the original as it's way more solid than any sliding stock on Rif.2 points

so premise of this is what things in airsoft do you not "get", and why? i'll start off with a couple- patches- i really don't get it, especially people who seem to collect them and get properly excited when they see a new patch. doubly so when you see people using the patches you get with bits of kit like airsoft innovations or gate products or from sites. painting desert camo- i'm not a fan of painting stuff in general, but i can get why folk would want to paint camo to make a gun more concealable, or painting crazy designs as an artistic expression, but painting desert camo just confuses me because you're not really getting any artistic benefit (no more than painting it an appropriate woodland camo) but you are making the gun stand out. note i'm not counting people doing it as part of a specific impression loadout, that's understandable. the kriss vector- not the gun in general or why people would use it, but why they're all so unreasonably heavy, seriously are they making those things out of depleted uranium or something? revolvers- or more correctly how anyone can fire one and not be immediately dissapointed......1 point -

That’s fair, come to think of it I can probably come up with a fair few hobbies where it’s the ‘retail therapy’ side of things that folks are into more than the thing you’ve bought them to do. With that said, I still don’t understand it at all! I wish I could put my old fart hat on and blame it all on social media, but it’s been the same for as long as I can remember so I dare say that isn’t it.1 point -

I 'get' that i do, somewhere buried deep inside is a touch of empathy; others have put it better. Its the chat up not bomb up its the '5 mins till safety brief' as the player is carrying over 5 guns to crono or as a whole, not doing all they can to play. Also, when a marshal/game organiser says go/5mins make it so. Again and again it comes back to how CS ran their days, you were told you would be out til lunch, pack accordingly. More sites (i go to) need to be doing this not the current '5mins bomb up' but not counting the 2 smokes and cuppa the players and or marshals have.....1 point -
It seems like our firearms coppers are well aware that most Realistic Firearms out there are actually Realistic Imitation Firearms. The folk that get (rightfully) slotted are those who are actually shooting live rounds. When gun-Dibble rocks up and finds some Joey giving it "I'll shoot yers, I'l do it, I'll shoot all of yers", they seem inclined to say "ORLY? Have a beanbag to the ballbag, and let's find out". Well done to them for that.1 point

General aeg range
Pewpewpetie reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
speaking as the perspective of someone who's entire style of play revolves around maximizing range you'd be surprised how often people actually do stand around and let you shoot them. most often it's people simply not expecting you to be able to hit them, until you do..... even funnier is how often you'll see people just coming back to the same spot or taking the same route that you literally tagged them in all of 5 minutes prior.....1 point -
Maybe whoever sold a RIF to that obvious mental case should be prosecuted, convicted and sentenced. The law-abiding majority are not the problem, and nothing that we do will stop mentalists from abusing the law.1 point

If a criminal wants a fake gun that looks real enough to commit a crime with then they don't need anything that looks even close to what we use. They could easily make something that looks realistic enough (or even easier than that they could simply buy an airgun that's just as realistic-looking as any of our RIFs), so imposing any further restrictions would be utterly pointless.1 point

Mans is getting deja vu: The spreadsheet thread linked in there does some (admittedly basic) math behind bb lobbing, but as @rocketdogbert points out there are a lot of variables. Getting a hit after expending half a mag fired 45 degrees in the air isnt the same range as that where you can aim, fire and (wind/target movement aside) hit a man sized target reliably. I've always taken claims of people claiming to be able to shoot x/y/z meters with a massive pile of salt, and i've never measured it myself because all that matters to me is having that little extra distance compared to the other guy.1 point -

Why sites have a single fire system, while shooting in and out of buildings. I get single fire inside. It's sad that people are more delicate these days and cry if they get lit up but i accept that single fire helps reduce this and can allow for a better flow of game. Fine. What i don't understand is how if the guy is standing by a building, you can light him up. If he then moves into the building and into cover, you are only allowed to single at him. If a guy is standing in the middle of the open, you can light him up. Same guy, if you are in the upstairs of a building, you have to single pew. Stupid logic that makes no sense.1 point -

I mean, people could have ran late, stuck in traffic etc but I get where your coming from. One of my major annoyances is people arriving late to the cinema. Why would you pay for a movie to arrive late missing some of it. anyway back to Airsoft. My main thing is the amount of sitting time you get at a lot of sites, lunch included. The mall gave you 45 mins and was clear, you miss the game brief your not playing. And had a short turnaround in between games. some sites seem to run 60% safe zone to 40% game zone action some days it seems which is really annoying. late starts piss me off too. I get up early on a Sunday to travel into the countryside to then have to sit around for over an hour as the safety brief isn’t until 10am even through the website said arrive by 8.30. What’s that all about!!1 point -

The VAT registration threshold for EU business is £85,000. Below that and they don't have to register, once they do though, they'll have to do accounts for HMRC (as well as their own government) along with all the additional cost that entails. For someone like TG I can't see that the volume of sales is worth it. Gunfire will still ship to the UK because they know there's customers there but still insist on a minimum order of £135 because that's where the responsibility shifts from them to the customer. TG stopped shipping over to the UK because of UPS and the hassle that their utter clusterfuck of a service has caused them. GF just started using a different courier instead (GLS).1 point

What have you made?
Akuma121 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
I dub thee: The WWSD - 'What Would Speedbird Do' Blaster. If you know, you know. The aim was a super light weight gun for all-round use. It's an unused ICS Sportline I have knocking about (hence shit camo job). It was a light weight plastic gun anyway, but had a wobbly/bendy front end that I was never happy with. So - 50mm Carbon tube hand guard. 3D printed barrel nut, hand guard end cap and barrel stub. ICS Stubby stock. No Outer barrel - the inner barrel is supported by the hand guard end cap. I replaced the RIS receiver rail with a 3D Printed blanking plate. I also added a flared magwell, 3D printed from a thingiverse file that I modded to better fit. No sights (never use 'em anyway - hi-cap 'spray and pray' for the win). It's my 40th Birthday in a couple weeks. Missus is buying me a nice Sparmax airbrush/compressor set, so the receiver will get some kind of 'interesting' paint job. I know, haters gonna hate. But I like it, and that's all that matters to me...😉1 point -
I’m going to guess that the compressor produces around 150psi Not enough to generate decent pressure for a bottle, and would need additional filtering to avoid contamination1 point

Having been playing for over 20+yrs and owning an awful lot of different guns and platforms in that time , I will more than happily say bar a TM recoil the new DE mosfet guns(if all the same)are among the best performing guns I’ve ever owned , I picked up a 2nd hand 904G as a “it’s the end of the day and I’m bolloxed ! I need a lightweight gun !” Gun and first time I used it I ended up using it the entire day I think it’s THAT good ! 😱 so yea I’d say go for a totally different platform , and if not yet also change to mid caps from hi-caps so you need to do reloads in game to step up your game . 👍1 point

Yes, that, especially another M4. Is that the DE with the fire control system? Bursts, binary trigger for speedy-boi shenanigans? That's about all you can really ask from an AEG other than pre-cock, and that's down to the mosfet, not the brand. Time to drop this truth-frag again. I'd be looking at getting something different, even if it's another AEG. A recoil system, a different platform, even raw degeneracy like a P90.1 point
