  1. To quote Jeremy Clarkson - 'I made a thing!' - well, printed something from thingiverse. Got my first 3D printer (Ender 3 V2) yesterday, printed my first Airsoft-related 'thing' today - a front sight rail for a G36 - removing the standard carry handle rail and putting a KAC/Tommy Built Style low profile rail on top instead. The rear Rail is gonna take another 8 hours. Slow Business this 3D printing malarkey.

  2. Gonna wear my (just don't give) AFUK hat tomorrow. If anyone asks me my username, I'm going to tell them it's @Rogerborg and act like an arsehole all day.

  3. Maybe it's worth more due to the "miner" scratch, there can't be many miners left in the UK now, so it's a rare item 😉

  4. It's a VFC. Those things aren't worth the RRP even when they're new

  5. I take it everything is new? What specific propellant are you using? Does it happen if dry firing? Somethings to check - With the gun split when you cock the hammer does the valve knocker (the bit sticking in the magwell) retract all the way back? If not it could be resting on the valve impeding it closing. Are the valves tight in the magazines? Again if the valves are sitting to fare out the valve knocker will not let them close properly. Should just be hand tight, torqueing will squash the brass. Remove the buffer and spring, drop 5 10p coins into the buffer reassemble and try. You are short stroking the system to check to see if the bolt return is resetting the valve knocker quick enough. Split the gun, check to see if the G5 and STANAGS sit in the magwell at the same height. You are making sure the valves and knockers line up the same. Swap the valves over to one that works and give it a try. Seals could be dry. Remove valves stick them in a plastic bag, soak in oil and work the valve making sure to get oil on the internal o-rings. Leave overnight. Doing this to make sure the o-rings have enough lube to function and are not impeding the return spring in the valve. Let me know how you get on.

    THE TM MWS thread

I know from experience that this effective at removing the Mk18 barrel nut. https://www.brownells.co.uk/MP-15-22-BARREL-NUT-WRENCH-TACTICOOL22-100015709. Just need to give it a few taps with a hammer to get it seated, but I've removed 2 Mk18 rails with it (with a generous amount of heat).

  8. Ideally you'll need something called an AR vise, it's used to clamp the receiver in place. If KWA do use glue then a blow-torch to heat the barrel nut (not Delta ring) will help.

  9. Either heating it up or putting it in the freezer for a while may/will likely help. Given the design of the barrel nut I’d put a suitably chunky Allen key (or similar) in one of the holes on the barrel nut and start tapping said Allen key around with a hammer/mallet. An AR block would help but I’ll go ahead and assume you don’t have one.

  10. In addition to what Chev said, try purging ALL the air out then filling the mag. It could also be an overfilled mag believe it or not

  12. So I popped my Airsoft cherry last night at Zmart Newbury and what can I say, I'm hooked! First off everyone was welcoming and friendly and happy to chat about whatever, handily I wasn't the only one flying solo which meant the 3 or 4 of us kinda formed our own group which was good. One of them leant me a torch which was very kind and also very useful (didn't see the replies to my status post till this morning!) and another had a very handy scoop for loading the mag too. The marshals were great all the way through, keeping things fun while also ensuring everyone followed the rules. There was a couple of issues I noticed, one where a couple of guys were arguing about taking hits which they seemed to sort fairly quickly and another where they noticed a guy who had a hot gun mid-game - looked like they did in-game chrono and were walking off to the safe zone so he could make adjustments to his gun. The guy with the hot gun was rumoured to be slinging .3's which is pretty heavy for CQB, what I can say for sure is he was the only one running HPA. Now I know with most things that require kit there's an element of faffing before you start but it did seem to go on forever, the marshals did note it at the pre-game briefing and said they'd be stricter on it in future. We got started with a couple of infection games which were a good way of getting to know the site and also in my case the gun, which was an M4 I believe (i really should have taken more notice of manufacturer etc), then a game where three marshals were essentially targets and each side had to revive them with the side with the most primary's at the end won and finished with a game transporting a bomb to the enemies spawn point. Can't remember if there was another or not! The games were pretty much the right length and as you'd expect with CQB there wasn't much waiting around between the start of the game and being in the thick of it. Overall it was a great evening, I'm peppered with marks where I was hit, but getting hit isn't half as bad as I thought it would be, took a couple at really close range (6ft) and they really stung for a bit but actually CQB is probably the worst it's going to be in terms of the sting of a BB hit. I was also really surprised at how few BBs I used actually - less that the thousand included in the rental - but I definitely saw people going through way more than me, there were guys using tracers too which I can certainly see the benefit of although they do give away your position.

Yup. In the meantime, I ordered a TTI charging handle with external fire selector for the DMR. Unfortunately WGC doesn't have those nice CCT hammer sets

  17. Most games you can get a way with 4 mags (a large capacity speed loader helps). At CQB sites there are times when I have maybe shot 20rds on a game.

Cheers! I definitely do want to play local when I can, but once a month is probably all I can manage at the moment so figured I'd stick with the guys I already know to begin with

  21. Got to applaud a spam bot that's so good at seemlessly blending in and going unnoticed. Edit: I don't have the option to report it, just gives me 'Share' when I click the 3 dots. If someone that does have the 'Report' option could please do the honours that'd be ace.

  23. My dad opened a gearbox at a game once. Very quickly learnt his lesson. Some of the shims fell out and made their way between the gears. Didn't realize, put it all back together and *CRUNCH* Now we just take enough backups to arm half of our team.

  24. Captain viper SIR!! I would love to join, based on my many many years of Airsoft experience I feel I have more than enough credentials to join, also based on the fact I have played cod and battlefield, watched blackhawkdown (and read the book the fantasy fiction that was the movie is based on) feel I am over qualified. therefore I would demand I have your job and a salary befitting someone who has played hide and seek in the woods with a nerf gun, sorry Airsoft a few times. Also I have plenty of hand signals I could show the squad Yours sarcastically. General Albiscuit

  25. Fortunately it's a small minority of folk who think a team name, rank and callsign that look like they're from a bargain basement CoD, makes them the SF of airsoft. Usually they stop when they finish going through puberty

  26. Not really, no. People have this sort of idea, think they have suddenly joined the ranks of 42 commando and decide it's a competitive sport, while the rest of use watch it fall to pieces in bemusement.

  27. I mean, I've only been playing Airsoft for just over a year but is this an actual thing? I'm in a separate "Airsoft" WhatsApp group with the few lads from "our lot" what actually play Airsoft, plus a lad from work who I've managed to brainwash into spunking all his money on toy guns. Apart from that, the most organisation we see is trying to get us all to turn up on the same day, who's driving and which McDonald's were meeting at in the morning! I'm fully aware people all get something totally different out of the sport / hobby, but didn't quite realise it could become quite so intense as this appears to be!
