I know there is cheaper options in the UK but... but all cost more than gunfire. which is out of stock at the moment, myself getting one last month from them. https://gunfire.com/en/products/cm057a-sniper-rifle-replica-1152203495.html £156.24 or in stock here https://www.zerooneairsoft.com/products/CYMA_AEG_SVD for the low low price of £269.95 Thats a Mack's worthy level of price hike.2 points

To be honest it doesn't really bother me. If I see something I want be it used or new so long as it's in this country I will buy it. Two advantages to this are; I'm supporting local businesses and if it breaks I can get it sorted easily. I know I probably pay a bit more but in the grand scheme of things it's not really an enormous saving. Just my take on it 👍🙂 Regards2 points

So far I have been lucky, but then all my guns are stock? So i havent actively messed them up? Overall, I have bought seven guns from TaiwanGun and Gunfire and not had an issue with any of them. I had a long period of communication with Gunfire because I would have prefered a wooden stocked SVD, but because of the price difference and brexit I was of with settling on the plastic stocked one. They made my order and held onto it without me making payment for 3 weeks waiting to find out from CYMA if they were going to make any wooden ones. Sadly the answer was no. Apparently they standard time with will hold onto orders without payment is a week. Im not sure how many other stores would do that for people, but it makes me a bit more trusting over them being reliable in regards to returns if there is a fault. But I wont lie, I'd likely try and fix things locally if there was an issue, unless it was a major fault.1 point

Loving my new holster setup, Kydex Customs mid drop, KC basic holster, DIY thigh strap. Access/pistol grip to draw is awesome, no flapping around even with full steel pistol, no chaffing from strap, and you can sit down without knowing there’s a pistol. Im sure many others have been and done this before, but to those who haven’t it’s a great setup.1 point

One of my biggest reasons for buying most of my kit from out side the UK is the shit service I’ve received over the yrs from most of the uk retailers I’ve dealt with , wether it’s zeromong getting paid for up-grades that they then proceeded to do with used parts , airsoft world sending an obviously 2nd hand gun as new and then saying “of course it looks used we had to test it first(how’d you test it take it to a full days scurmish?) ! Or airsoft armoury sending an order to the wrong address and saying tuff it’s been signed for over to you ! so me personally I’m more than happy to take the risk of buying from foreign retailers over UK ones if I’m getting a substantial saving .👍1 point

There will no doubt be a few weeks of disruption and then things will settle back down. After the economic upheaval of covid I dont really think Brexit is going to be too bad in the grand scheme of things1 point -

My dead rag is a cheap red t-shirt from Primark that i've torn up to make a few. At the last game I went to i think I was the only person who had any resemblance of a dead rag. It should become more common as i think it would help alot with overshooting and people complaining about being shot when they lollygag on the walk back to respawn.1 point

I was about to mention dead rags. Legitimate non aggressive ‘dead man walking’ is a valid tactic. Cheating at faking by raising your hand etc to bypass and then appearing alive is not. There is the standard signal for dead players, which is a raised hand. We all drop our hands when going for some distance but can reasonably raise it or call ‘dead player’ when passing others etc. If there is a need to climb obstacles, jump river beds etc then there’s time to challenge the non aggressive player rather than gun them down Dead rags are an established option, not so regular here so don’t seem to be well known and not everyone will have them or want to buy them. (Funny that as a paintballer who remains unfamiliar with all the rules and terms of airsoft knows about dead rags but many airsofters don’t) A site can stock up on a length of cheap fabric and chop up some rags - and tell players the rules. It’s hardly rocket science and would solve the majority of issues I’ve seen in games due to different players assuming different rules There are often common indicators showing the difference between a dead player and a non aggressive player. People don’t pay attention to the non agressive player. In the same game once in Drakelow tunnels I was the Gabriel, head of the fallen angels and wearing black wings, with respawn in the centre. In one game I was able to stroll past the opposition, all the way to a lit up tunnel, into the unattended respawn, steal ‘lost souls’ that had been collected and walk back out. After switching ends I tried to walk in again in a dark respawn area and gained a swollen forehead and mild concussion for my cheekiness once someone noticed my wings being lit up behind from a few feet away. (I was also approaching very suspiciously - tucked to the side of the wall, trying to hide my glow stick, had my gun at a low ‘ready’ etc) Dead rags show a player is out of the game, other options if you have a well managed and enforced arm band system the dead players can be shown by removing their armband (or ideally armbands on both arms) By default I allow dead man walking when writing event rules, and both in the game pack and morning brief. Though there are times that I don’t permit it, due to the game format, field layout etc1 point

Good question. The reason i dont run one is because when i've tried in the past people still just shot me because they didnt know what a dead rag was. But thats a problem that can be easily solved by the site pointing it out.1 point -

Silverback SRS Thread
Lollingsgrad reacted to Asomodai for a topic
Pretty certain I have finally ascertained that my Fast hop is to blame for my problems since purchasing my A2 in April. My shots were always off. Never centre, Despite numerous nubs and bucking's. The nub never seemed straight. Silverback kept telling me to follow the installation video (Of course that's what I used!) and anyone who commented on my help posts blamed my installation. Ordered Adventure Stan's Barrel Alignment Tool to see what's up. As you can see, it's either the Inner part of the Fast hops BB Feed tube cut is not in the right place, or the outer part of the fast hop does not align with the inner. Adventure Stan's tool makes sure the inner barrel, bucking and fast hop is perfectly straight. So I can only conclude it is a badly produced fast hop. This happens on all bucking's and nubs I have tried. If I twist either the inner barrel or outer part of the hop unit then the nub is no longer centred and just as useless. We'll see what Silverback say, I just wish I didn't have to fork out the money to prove my theory right!1 point -

whilst this is a very valid point, corpses tend not to get pissed off if they get an extra couple of rounds pumped in them by everyone passing by.1 point -
If you don't have your hand in the air, your not dead to me, so you get shot at. It's sneaky tactics, but if noone on the opposing team even challenge/called out to them to ask or remind them to put their hand up if they were hit, then they were not being observant.1 point
