  2. Realistically, for me, any gun that actually looks what I'd call 'sorted'. Don't care on the platform or the make, but it's really bloody rare I see a gun with a setup that makes me think "that's actually well done" (obviously excluding the comedy guns in this one). I get people might be limited on the batteries the have in relation to the gun and their budget etc, but if you can't afford to setup your rifle in such a way that all the weight of that Large type NiMh isn't entirely dangling directly from the wire connection.. well I think you should just wait til next payday before attending another game. If anything for your own sake as that's just not a good thing for the battery, the gun or the shooter. Also anyone that actually uses their attached foregrip, be it vertical or angled. I almost never see those used, they're just hanging out in front there while the shooter grips the magwell all day long. Not saying people 'aren't allowed' to grip the magwell that's entirely personal preference, but it's rare I see anyone actually utilise the foregrip they've paid for and attached, so that stands out to me.

  3. Honestly, I've never in all my years come across someone that straight run out of ammunition; any time I've seen that happen, said person has gone straight to the site shop and bought another bottle. Yes,I know this doesn't work for sites without a shop but I'm pretty sure they're the exception not the rule from what I've seen. I've leant someone my speedloader when they had no tool for bombing up their midcaps and they gave a general shout across the safe zone, so I volunteered my kit. But not once have I seen someone straight run out of BBs or ask me for BBs. I often only bring a very small amount with me due to the small amount I shoot in day, so if someone did ask me then my response would depend entirely on the way in which they asked. Someone who's got a legitimate reason, approached and ask politely without presuming or giving the impression they'll get shitty if I did say no - absolutely, I'll sort them out. However I've had more than a few little s*** bags address me as 'Oi!' at games before and they get the hardest blanking possible, if some little f***** came over demanding BBs with a bucket full of crap over-entitled attitude they're getting the square root of sweet-FA from me personally.

  5. Different carry systems have different philosophies of use. A plate carrier is based on standing/kneeling keeping the waist and legs mostly clear for the purpose of moving well and standing square on to the enemy so that getting hit is absorbed by the plate. The UK tends to prefer laying on the ground as part of making people harder to hit and as a result tends to put all the equipment on the sides and rear of the waist and back such that they can get low to the ground. So what you use (plate, chest rig, battle belt, assault vest) all changes your combat style and to some extent you have to use it somewhat in the way it was designed otherwise you are going to have problems with it. If you spend a lot of time laying on the ground in games then you may find stuff on your front with a plate/chest rig doesn't suit you and you might find a battle belt or side/rear assault vest is more appropriate for you.

I was looking at 4x sights a few weeks back just to try and see what its like,if you're a beginner like me you dont want to be spending £70 plus on a 4x acog.

  7. I think it depends on the quality of the magazine, how much pressure you are exerting on the them and the terrain under you. I would not expect them to break though. One thing to remember when getting prone is that you can drop mags from pouches if not properly secured. I have elastic retention straps on my open pouches and I needed to adjust the tightness yesterday when one mag dropped out after crawling prone to get cover.

  8. So like some I technically work Monday to Friday, although as a teacher I generally work from home either Saturday or Sunday to get caught up. When I started my other half worked 28 days on 28 days off and lived at the company house in Gravesend when she was on shift. Weekends on months when she was off were spent with her. Weekends that fell in her work months were basically free for me to find skirmishes. Sometimes I worked it so I would airsoft on the Saturday at a site drive to Gravesend and go out for dinner and spend the night with her then get up on Sunday when she went to work and I would play the Sandpit or somewhere else close. She has changed job and now does Monday to Friday. Occasionally she gets sent offshore like for the last month she has been in Brazil. Which means I have had an airsoft fest! Weekend milsim at Tuddenham, weekend off, weekend at tuddenham, sunday at the sandpit today. If she is still away next weekend I will play Gunman Norwich on Sunday possibly. Mind you I pretty much had a 3 month ban before our wedding in July. I think I normally get in about one game day every 2 months.

  9. I like my webbing. It's considered a bit old fashioned these days but webbing is cooler in the summer and can carry just as much gear. I tend to use P37 webbing as I have WW2 British and Australian loadouts but there are many other types available. PLCE is probably the most modern and should be quite cheap. I like the P37 as it has 2 big pouches on your chest and 1 pouch will hold 6 Sten mags. Most other webbing will have pouches on your belt and a yolk to hold it in place. A molle belt will work in the same way. You don't have the problem of not feeling hits so much with any webbing or belt options. They also don't act as an additional layer of clothing that you don't want during the summer months.

  18. First things first how old are you? Because if your under 18 the whole ukara buying a gun thing goes out the window. If you are over 18 then as people have said go to a few games and rent. Once you know if you like it then look at what you need. You will only know this when you have a played a few times and know how and where you want to play. Until then everything else is irrelevant. When you do know you will need £200 plus to get started on minimal kit.

  20. Another vote for the Raider as a great starter gun. As for face pro, I'd advise the larger nuprol mesh goggles then just a lower mesh too personally. Don't buy an all in one unit. Many people would probably recommend lenses but fogging seems to be a huge issue.

  24. You're missing the point slightly: Anything with magnification that's costing you less than £60 is probably going to be naff. Even if it's not, in most games (And with almost all guns) you don't need the magnification - you'll be able to aim quicker without it. You need an incredibly reliable setup to get the consistency to use a scope. Otherwise, your BBs are just veering off out of view and you'll have no idea where you're shooting.

  25. I should say I meant cheap magnified optics. The 1x ones are generally fine regardless of price because it's nothing but a single lens. I'm sure a 1x ACOG would be great as well.

As jcheese said: It'll probably just slow you down. I've had a couple of cheapo scopes and couldn't put up with the poor lens quality - my advice would be a cheap red dot and then go from there.

  27. It depends how 'large' you are, how cheap your mags are & how quickly you go prone. In reality, you're very Unlikely to break them unless they're cheap plastic & you fall on them hard.

Thanks, for taking time to explain optics to me! Was definitely some very good help, to me it seems I'll just get a red dot or holo. Thanks

I find that a 4x optic is really good in woodland for spotting movement and faces in foliage.

  30. a magnified sight will just slow down your aiming, get a red dot instead.

  31. if you do get a CM16 like i have you wont really need a scope magnification here's how scope magnification works. In the model name "4 X 32," the number four refers to the magnification power of the scope. A 4-power scope enlarges the image four times. An 8-power scope enlarges things eight times, making it seem to be closer than when seen through a 4-power scope but the acog is not magnified as it is only 1 x 32.The number 32 refers to the size of the objective lens: 32 millimeters. The size of the lens will tell you how much light it will be able to transmit to the ocular lens. In general, larger objective lenses can transmit more light. Thats basically how it works but since we're playing airsoft and you are getting an aeg you don't need a magnified scope unless you really want one most people on the woodland site i go to just use red dots sights or replica EO techs.

  32. When I was running about all over the place doing contract work, I was lucky if I could get a game in a month. Now, I can theoretically go every weekend (Got told off by HR on friday for working longer hours than my contract requires o.O )

  34. Well I work stupid hours often including nights and the occasional saturday or weekend trips, study full time at uni, have 2 kids but still try to skirmish once a month. Granted today was my first skirmish since June, but there are plenty of sites near to me which means options on days, I can go Wed, Thurs and Sat nights and Saturdays or Sundays work depending. Plus I can swap shifts and book days off etc if I need to. So its difficult, but I can try to fit it around other stuff. And to be fair we all need something to give us a little release from all the other crap we do so its important to make time where we can!!

  35. Marui Gspec, ''One Joule'' build. 330FPS,just on the legal limit. Laylax Piston and Laylax 100 Spring, everything else in the cylinder is stock,no real point in changing anything in my situation. Cheap SHS sear set.Nothing amazing but it works. Hop- ''Custom'' hop up arm, filled the stock one with epoxid, and shaped it to copy the dangerwerx ones. PDi W-hold bucking, and stock barrel. but polished to a mirror finish, like the cylinder. Use .28s and .32s usually. Joule creeps constantly, hilariously over volumed. Been a while since i checked the numbers but it was spitting out .30s at 1.25J~ish. Right now I'm using Nuprol .28s which have pleasantly surprised me.Have not had feeding issues with them yet,and they're easy for me to see. Performance- Good enough. 50-ish meters and ''It will deffo hit'' accuracy. I usually like to get up close and go mad minute bolting anyway. Wanting to get a smaller optic, like a red dot. local shop has NC star Gen 2 DP red dot sights for 25 quid, good idea? http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/n-arxsrf/n3wox/products/8544/images/11537/DPTV2___25113.1421530239.1280.1280.jpg?c=2
