so the ZCI rotary hop unit is a very tight fit into the combat machine outer barrel
-
SHS or Laylax rotary hop for an m4....
-
odd thought on cylinder compression etc. i have a secondhand CM16 shorty firing at 297fps. i assume the interior is the same as the longer barreled version.... so would that mean i may see a jump by putting in a longer barrel? else they would have different cylinders or fire with a lower fps than this one? (this is ignoring the airseal)
-
It's possible, and plausible, and even likely, but I wouldn't want to leap to any conclusions.
If you're wanting to improve the air seal and energy, I'd start with just squirting some silicone oil or spray up the nozzle, swish it around, then blow it out the nozzle before re-assembling. You can also get some in behind the piston head via the cylinder cut out.

The gearbox sounds alright so that is something im trying not to crack open. im trying for a more classic M4 look, so i have ordered a 4 inch outer barrel extension which will allow for a longer inner barrel. So if the theory is right that they use the same gearbox etc in all varients of combat machine, will give it just a little more fps without having to open the gearbox (another 20 to 30 fps would do nicely.) The current plan is a new hop-up assembly inc rubber and buckings with a longer inner barrel. open to recommendations on good hopup units not gone aftermarket for these before

Are those Gate EU Warfet things worth it? do they do much being just wired in the battery compartment? -
good game today, SVD performed well stock and got kills with the Grach. did bring home a tick though...

Nasty things. I had my top tucked into my bottoms. Long sleeves, full trousers, army boots and gloves. The thing somehow got in and crawled up to within 4 inches of my gentlemen bits on my inner thigh. How it got there i cannot fathom. Glad i got it out alive, though with normal tweezers. Think im gonna buy some tick ones to carry on me next time

So my favourite site is closing down and selling the rental gear. Nabbed a combat machine for cheaps. Something to tinker on without me worrying too much about destroying the gat.
Plan to slowly upgrade parts to see if i can get it going well and learn teching. Any advice on what parts to go for first. Im guessing the usual barrel and hopup assembly first.
Need to find out which CM it is first tho. Collecting sunday. It is the M4 variety, the first and only M4 i have ever owned
-
I like them a lot. I've a tight bore barrel on mine, standard green hop rubber and a ZCI plastic rotary hop. It has a lazy mans plug and play Burst Wizard 4 'fet.
The barrel support is weak, the controls lack much feel or deliberate clicks and they feel a bit flimsy beside a steel receivered rifle, but they are very light and the M4 ergonomics are hard to beat/fuck up.
I keep mine switched to full with the burst set to single shot and spam the trigger with manly abandon. It's had scores of thousands of rounds through it. Never misses a beat.
I've a second that I've bought to get silly with tuning wise.

Anyone got recommendations for a good single pouches for ak47/akm magazines? Find double stacks a little awkward

Hi @kasaran! 👋
I’ve used a variety of pouches and rigs. Is there anything in particular you have in mind? 🤔

first game for the last 14 months. proof that expensive doesnt=good
LCT G3A3 mags all feed only half a mag before being unreliable, sometimes feeding, sometimes not (on both 28s and 25s). £300+ gun £23 mags...
raged onto my backup: CYMA AK74m flawless £100
first time outing for both of them. the G3 fires like a beast stock, and hop does 0.28's well, its just the damn mags. wonder if JG mags work?

I had some 5mm x 6mm plasticard lengths for building models. The business end got whittled to a taper.

anyone know where i can find an O-ring measuring 15mmODx1.8mmCS 70D
much thanks
-
What did you measure it with? Reason I ask is those measurements don't line up with metric standards. It's also not imperial standard (usually 1/64th's).
Imperial would be 1/16 x 19/32 (1.587mm x 15.081mm). But that gets factored back into metric for most sites and is sold as a 1.6mm x 15.1mmYou can find rings done to 1/128th's In that case it's closer to a 9/128 x 19/32 (1.78 x 15.081mm) sold as 1.8x15.1mm. Not common at all, but you can import them. I'd measure twice to be absolutely sure that is the dimensions you need.

leaky mag diagnosis. what is wrong when a mag seems to leak loudly when shaken from the top firing valve? Asking for a friend
-
Does anyone find themselves also favouring guns in games that match those in your collection? Counterpoint, did the games influence the purchase. definately guilty of both here

second musing... Defcon Airsoft... whats their usual processing time? so far its been 3 days...
-
extremeairsoft.... following a gnu which has a 7 day lead time from whenever you look.... now thats not a 'buy it and we will order it in, delivery is 7 days'. its flat out of stock with a continually moving restock date? or is the website system broken?
-
is evolution airsoft any good? have a reasonably priced MK18...
-
@kasaranIf you want a cheap Mk18, I'd go Specna Core. As @Skaramentions, it appears that Specna and Evolution use the same OEM, with the respective companies specifying their (minor) internal/external component choices to the factory. Comparing the two models on Patrolbase, the Specna comes out £50 cheaper.
I would use that £50 on an SHS/Rocket High Torque motor, ZCI inner barrel, ML Macaron/Omega Hop rubber/bucking. Job done, and spend nothing more until it breaks.
The newer Cores are also now coming with Gate X-ASR Mosfets as standard now, which is a nice update. And the Specnas are licensed with DD themselves.
-
Half looking at getting a MK18. Not a great fan of the big CM logo on the G&G, does this come off? £500 TM NGRS is a little rich for me atm.

Yeah, the Edge range has the orion gearbox. If you get an Edge, try and get the newer Edge 2.0.
It has a Gate licenced flat trigger that is optimised for the Aster mosfet, and the new Flat hop up rubber.
Apparently Specna have sorted the issue with the weak gearboxes, but I'll be able to tell you first hand if that is the case after my E05 Edge 2.0 arrives soon.
The CORE C19 is still DD Licenced, but has the plastic body instead of metal.
The rail is still metal however.

building funds for a new PC build and someone puts an awfully tempting LCT akm on here... bastard

To follow on from my old status about an overly expensive camo. I ended up settling on marpat.

I find it amusing when in the classifieds people who are selling multiples of one item say '£X each or all 5 for £Z' When the buy all price is exactly what the individual cost would be if multiplied by the number of items. Why word it like its got a multibuy discount?
-
Haha.
Buy two for the price of two.
Yay winner!!
Hey wait a minute....

considering how simple they are. Why are M79's so expensive?
- Show previous comments 3 more

I'll agree that they are pretty overpriced (especially the handheld version), but there is a fair amount of metal used, and a nice wooden stock as well. The large metal barrel and barrel assembly are also likely fairly expensive to cast properly, but apart from that like someone said before, a lot of that cost is probably from Nuprol's bottom line
-
I'm not sure simplicity = cheap, or even complex = quality. ICS MGL a good point to raise. Whilst its' been literally years since the first and last time I held an m79 (can't remember if it was KA or the old CAW version), it was a solid bit of kit and a "quality product". On the other hand, the ICS MGL (which I have) is well, half the price.. and for good reason. The complex bit is pretty decent, and does what its supposed to do. But evidently corners were cut elsewhere, it is incredibly plasticy, there is lots of flex to it and it seems pretty fragile, I wouldn't want to drop it, and I wouldn't want to transport it outside of a box. Not a fan of nuprol but IIRC m79s have always been fairly expensive
-
After almost a year I have finally sorted out the gear I want to run for my G3. Now, what do do with the mag pouches I originally bought that were of no use to me.
They are OD, fit 2 mags in each and fully adjustable with velcro flap. Got em to fit Stanag, G3 and M14 mags, not AK sadly. Possible ad going up when the missus gets round to looking at the postage costs.

with the paypal, pay in 3 instalments. can you put down a deposit/first payment to make the follow ups cheaper?

@Skara oh, I still get arma'd but now, at least on not heavily modded maps i can have a decent view distance and frames. I remember my machine before the last upgrade, the view distance was so low the UAV misson on campaign was to high to nothing rezed in on the ground.
