So, I haven't shared this yet despite having it sat around for a few months. For context this was a boneyard A&K Masada/ACR. When I got it, the exterior of the rifle was scuffed, chipped and dented beyond belief and the previous owner had even super glued rails to the handguard. Instead of fixing the ambi fire selector properly, they had also super glued the fire selector on which I've since fixed. Since it was already destroyed externally I decided to go the absolute opposite way of what I normally go for, so I went with the brightest colours I could think of. Is it cursed? I think I actually prefer it to the standard look of most of my RIFs.7 points

This beautiful custom 1911 was purchased from another user here on the classifieds a while ago and has spent its life as a display piece. Having to sell it on due to finances. I payed £450 for it at the time. Asking £380 for it now. It is a TM MEU based 1911 fully upgraded with a rare, custom-order guarder kit along with fully steel/stainless external parts and upgraded internals. It took a lot of headache (and money) to get it spec'd out exactly like a RS Springfield Professional 1911, Hopefully if you're into 1911's you would appreciate this is the original 1911 model that passed the FBI HRT trials, and also was the base for the well known MEU pistol's late variants. Even if you don't care about that stuff, it's a beautifully kitted out pistol nonetheless, and as far as I know the only one in the airsoft world that sports the original Professional look. The gun comes with the pistol itself and 2 magazines. Price is £380 - includes PayPal fees and postage I've listed the full list of upgrades below - split into upper and lower assembly for convenience. No, run .25s if you want. You can get some nice performance out of HPA using heavy BBs because you don't have to worry about air volume like you generally do with AEGs, but it's not the be all and end all. There's also a bunch of reasons why heavier in general is better, but that's across all platforms, not just HPA. I'm tired of people pretending HPA is some sort of magical system that does something revolutionary when it's functionally the same as an AEG (using air to propel a small plastic ball). Will you get better performance out of heavier BBs? Yes Will using .25s be pointless? No2 points

Lol An elderly man rear-ended a guy driving an expensive European sports car. Enraged, the guy hops out and confronts the old man. He yells, "Look what you did to my car! You're going to give me $10,000 right now or I'm going to beat you to a pulp!" "Oh my…" the old man said nervously. "I don't have that kind of money. Let me call my son.” he said with hope. “He trains dolphins and he will know what to do." "Dolphins!" the other driver huffed, while rolling his eyes. The old man pulled out his phone, dialed his son, and just as his son answered, the irate man snatched the phone away from the old man. "So, YOU'RE a dolphin trainer, huh?” The irate man yelled, “Well, your old man here just rear-ended my car and I need TEN GRAND right now, or I'm going to beat you AND your old man to a pulp!" "I'll be there in 10 minutes." says the voice calmly on the other end. Exactly 10 minutes later, a Jeep pulls up and a guy hops out and proceeds to pulverize the bully, leaving him in a heap on the side of the road. When he finished, he walked over to his father and said, "For the last time dad, I train Seals… Navy Seals. NOT dolphins!”2 points -

Another possibly obvious question - noting that the gun contains a mosfet, there may well be a drain on the battery when it is connected. Are you leaving the battery in it, and connected? If you have done that, even for a few days, it is possible that you have drained the lipo to a voltage that has caused damage to the battery - i.e. it won't really take charge any more. When you buy a replacement battery, as per the suggestions above (i have found Turnigy batteries, purchased from Hobbyking good and super cheap), ensure that you never store the battery connected, and ideally store the battery at a 2/3rds charge (a so called 'storage charge' if you aren't using it for a month or so,2 points -

So, bit of a weird one I’ve not ran into before… The 3 WE M4 mags I have, all seem to be dropping down on my SA80 resulting in dry firing with no BB’s being pushed into battery. If you slowly push the bolt forwards watching the nozzle, you can see the nozzle actually push the BB down in the magazine. I assumed the mag catch was worn, but it seems fine except from one corner worn slightly. These same mags work flawlessly in my M16A1 so I don’t think it’s a magazine issue, plus it does it on all 3 mags. I thought about tape, but I tried 3 different spots with no luck. Anybody have any ideas for a fix?1 point
-
It definitely is. You can just about see the DE emblem on the side of the receiver.1 point
-
I'll have to take a video or image of the issue tomorrow. I've never ran into this issue before! It fires fine when the mag is held up, might have to invest in some elastic bands and stick it around the mag and rifle 😂1 point
-
I'll have to double check and see if mine does the same... All 3 of the "30 rounders" work fine in my m16a1 with no issue, feeds every bb etc. I figured I'd try the "20 rounders" in my SA80 and had the same issue. When I was testing the SA80 earlier, rarely one BB will make it through however now I know it's having issues I don't want to fire it properly in case more damage is caused.1 point

Most CQB sites don't like heavy BB's anyway - at CQB engagement distances the difference between a 0.25 and a 0.32+ is negligible.1 point

I did look at the other Victoptics ones, but honestly that 1-6x is the best for what I want it to do. Good to hear that there is no real discernable difference (my eyesight is only 20/20 when corrected too!) and £91 is absolutely fine for me to pay. If I was getting a scope for a real gun I'd spend more and also if I was getting a scope for one of my bolt action rifles or DMRs I'd spend more as well because I love my long distance archery airsoft, but as it's for a 1.1J recce rifle style build, I'm sure this 1-6x will be absolutely fine for what I want to do1 point
-
I have both Vector Optics and Victoptics scopes and honestly, I'm hard pressed to see the difference. Granted my eyesight is only 202/20 when it's corrected and I'm just using it for airsoft but still. If you want to go cheaper and simpler Victoptics do a 1-4 LPVO now as well https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002037442492.html?pdp_npi=4%40dis!GBP!£67.32!£49.14!!!81.29!59.34!%40211b801517132614736886930e161e!12000036678249127!sh!UK!759559025!&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allItems_or_groupList.new_all_items_2007523591909.10050020374424921 point

That's fair, I have the G&P mounts for mine so they sit quite low anyway. Medium rings the scope at a decent height for me. I might still have some low rings though (I'll have a look and drop you a DM). This is mine for reference - be aware if you go too low you may end up fouling on the rear sight!1 point

Are teams with red armbands in the disadvantage?
ParHunter reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
I played at Driver Wood on Saturday morning - and the orange arm bands are no more! Looks like someone was listening..... After the briefing, out came a big box of much more subdued purple arm bands. Now to see if any of the regulars who always stand on the 'green team' side of the briefing area prior to the bands being given out start to migrate across to other side of the safe area!1 point -

New 'inexpensive' DMR build. Base gun is a polymer GE 417, for weight and low price. Out of the box it was pretty horrid , but tbf for what it cost I wasn't expecting much. Gearbox is a long V2 with a mosfet and some sort of electronic full auto set up, no COL and a micro switch whitch enables full auto. I'm not realy a fan of mosfets as I see it as adding unnecisary electronic crap, ( and I'm normally running GBBR) but I'll concede that the lack of COL is handy in a semi locked pew. I've replaced the piston head and added a slightly longer double o ring nozzle, compression is now awesome. Switched to a ZCI rotary hop and inner barrel, along with a M/L rubber and Omega nub. Also a high torque motor. Now running at 1.78j on my home chrono on .36BBs. Quick blow over with Halfords paint to make it look a bit less plastic and added a few spare decals I had. It'll get a run out next game to shake it down, but happy with that.1 point

O’Tom tick twister great for removing ticks - there’s always a risk of squeezing too hard with tweezers and leaving the tick’s head under the skin, leading to infection. Smidge, another top recommendation - made from natural ingredients, kind to skin and plastic toy gnus and smells nice. For me that is part of the hobby alongside crafting your sniper hood or whatever you use. While I haven’t touched my Krytac (I am using a rifle wrap for that one) something as ugly as my AAP can only benefit from a custom paint job 🤣(and no it wasn’t a two tone). I’ve pained my holster, coms including cable even my speed loader (as a guinea pig).1 point

Why would that be? Starting with the same energy at the muzzle, and assuming that the hop can impart enough spin[*], a heavier BBs will always retain more energy than a lighter one and go further. It'll take longer to reach a closer target, but that's hardly an issue for a sniper with a 30m MED - which is about the point where it will overtake a lighter BB. [*] If your gun can't fully hop it that's a different issue, but it's an issue with the hop unit or bucking and nub, not the BB.1 point
