    Gun picture thread

My Winchester 1873 is complete, for now... the question is what sidearm should I pair with it? I'm leaning towards a Tanaka SAA or Python... pic of the matching loadout / attire at the last western filmsim! A more modern offering now.... my weathered full steel AKMS. Hoping to go down a Tarkov scav or Cold war Poland route in terms of kit. The let down on this otherwise realistic piece is the grip... anyone know a spot to buy a bakelite or wood grip for AEG AKs?

  2. So.. I splashed a little more cash over the past few weeks. Firstly from Octagon airsoft, I bought a stock and some wooden handgrip for my Beretta M93r. Stock fits perfectly, though the right hand grip will need some work with a dremel to get it to fit and not interfere with the mechanism for the burst function of the pistol. Next I bought a low profile pistol red dot sight from my local air rifle range to fit less intrusive on the optic mount for the M93r (see pic attached for stock, optic mount, red dot and left side wooden hand grip fitted) Finally I bought two Tokyo marui limited edition Chisato handguns and some mags from airsoft direct (by far the cheapest I have seen them on sale in the UK) one will be purely for display to keep it pristine, while the other will get some limited use, mainly in CQB as backup to my Krytac Vector (when the back-ordered mags Finally arrive and if I can find a holster for it that won't damage the finish), to prolong its life Also looking at a tactical vest on ebay to complete a Stargate SG1 loadout. Trying to find an accurate, black blackhawk omega is impossible, so this vest would be more of a Stargate-inspired vest than a stitch-counter accurate version. Pics will be shared if I do decide to pull the trigger on the vest.. Oh, and also the usual boring consumables restock.. gas, BBs, CO2 bulbs.. and a can of Nuprol 1.0 for the new TM pistol..

  3. Back on Arnies there were a few people who were legitimately militant about AK purity so I got a King Arms 74 and AR-15 adapters for both the front and rear ends specifically to offend them. There were a couple of iterations of this but this one is the most heinous. Was also loaned this long ago by a shop to publicise; WE GBB AK in an SRU 3D printed bullpup kit.

  4. That's what I can't get my head around. I'm not saying it doesn't exist but I haven't seen quantitative analysis of how spending 3. 4 or even 5 times the value of the base gun on parts gives a significant gain in performance. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/30554-gas-1911 I hope that in paying more than 1.5 times retail value of a JBBG special, the seller throws in some magic beans or whatever illegal substance he was on. https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/hg121-airsoft-gas-pistol/

  5. I like that it lists the price of the original TM Hi-Capa, then every single part that's been replaced, which appears to be... every single part. Trigger's Hi-Capa? 🤷‍♂️

  6. Went down to NPF Bassets Pole today, first time in a while. Checking in took a while as there were about 80 something players, fair few rentals and everyone else. Safety briefing was informative and unlike some other sites apparently no loaded weapons in the safe area. Once that was done out to the games with where formatted in hour to hour and half missions. The Marshalls handed out a missions of the day which helped clarify what was going on. Battled until lunch, got killed about 30 times, I must remember just running at people doesn’t equal success haha. Broke for lunch and chomped on a cheeseburger with I ordered at the beginning of the day and was quite nice to be fair. Back out in the afternoon for more missions and got killed about 30 times again. The missions themselves got a bit confusing as time went on but I felt this was more that most people just went off to do their own thing rather than stick to the plan. Marshalling I would say was of a good quality but then behaviour by players was as well. No over shooting however some rather debatable hit taking. (Bloody sniper guille wankers) 😜 Only one incident of the today was a player taking in a hot sniper and dmr after the missions had started and not having chronoed. One chap sadly has quite a welt on his head tonight but it was dealt with efficiently and without a massive whohar. Overall I had a really good day, was fun and would recommend it. However the mission structure could be better and Marshall need to be more proactive to stop spawn camping.

  9. I used them a bit back when I worked in the square mile, so easy to jump on the tube at lunchtime & grab what I needed, plus at one point I was getting trade discount there via a site owner/teammate, which was nice😁 BUT On ALMOST every occasion I visited I found staff, including the owner, to be arrogant, borderline rude, & very much up themselves. Only reason I went there as often as I did was because: 1. I was getting very good prices 2. It was local, & being an old fart I hadn't fully embraced buying on the net, needed to "feel" the kit. But once the discount had ended & I'd stopped working in london, not felt the need to even consider them for online shopping.

  18. So a while ago I started to build a hk21e machinegun based on a jg g3 but the gun was a bit screwed and I made a bit of a hash of upgrading it so That rather killed my motivation for working on that. I recently sold off that gun as part of my process of swapping entirely to gbbrs. Having watched a few explosive enterprises vids I decided to give this another go. This time the base gun is a we gbb g3. It came to me with the barrel shortened and Ive just picked up a proper hk21e style clubfoot stock for it. Im planning to model and print most of the bits for it in plastic and then send them off to be done in aluminium when im finished. This is just the first step. 1 new sight block that just sits on the cocking tube and dosent go down to the barrel. 2 front handguard cap with a block hidden under it which bolts to the handguard pinhole to keep everything rigid 3 a sleeve to go over the barrel to give it the proper machinegun profile. I have sanded and painted this bit since the proper barrel is tapered and making one of these in metal would be a pain. will probably leave it plastic. It just screws onto the outer barrel nut and gets pinned in place by the flash hider. next up is to make the rear handguard cap and order some steel or aluminium tube to make the actual handguard. Ill be building a pinhole into the rear handguard cap where the belt feed mechanism attaches. This would normally be on the reciever instead of the magwell but Im trying to make this in a way which requires as little modification to the base gun as possible. Once the belt feed assembly is made ill be making a box mag to slot onto it, fitting the guts of a 249 box in there, hpa tapping the original mag and drilling a hole in the front for bbs to feed in from a spring tube. Im not really a fan of hpa but for a gbb lmg like this its simply the best option.

Big Resident Evil fan and recently got myself a Krink (Thanks HuttArmouries) and figured I'd make a dragoon build. I've sourced and got every other part ordered, except from these... The torch mount And the suppressor Any help is massively appreciated! Update: I've found the torch mount, just need to ID the suppressor now.

  20. Your one also has a glass breaker in the picture. https://airsoftartisan.com/products/airsoft-artisan-dummy-glass-breaker-for-sf-m4-2000-silencer-black-dark-earth They were popular a few years back with seal impressionists, but good clones are hard to find now. If anyone knows of any steel ones let me know!

  21. I only know slightly more than zero and mostly only about the replicas that PTS have done, which luckily includes this one. Like I've probably watched dozens of videos about cans on GunTube over the past decade, but end of the day the majority of them are just another black tube (at a glance) and they don't even vary greatly in size or shape and rarely have truly distinguishing features externally. You've got to deliberately go out of your way to get info and differentiate most of them, doubly so since some airsoft models aren't based on anything real but even the ones that are don't generally use the real name. There's a few standouts like the old KAC NT4 or the Osprey or some of the Q models but.. well I think this page makes my point fairly well - https://www.silencershop.com/silencers/5-56mm-rifle.html

  30. I've recently got a G&G GC16 and had just had a similar issue. I was given an 800mAh 11.1v 20c battery with it, which is very close to the recommended spec but put it in this morning, after having a fiddle with the stock, and got the two beeps. In this case I had pulled the battery wire and separated the 2 small spade connectors that go from the etu/mosfet into the rif. Reconnected and it fired once then just went dead. Swapped it for a Li Ion 7.4v 2500mAh 30c and its fine again. Luke/Negative Airsoft said on one of his videos a while that the etu/mosfet is a pile of poo and should be replaced but it seems to be fine on 7.4s. I just plugged in the 11.1v to check and it works fine!!!!! EDIT: fired a load of shots with the 7.4 and plugged the 11.1 back in and got nothing! Not even a beep! Got on the balance charger now.

  31. what gun? what battery? what charger? btw at 11.1V it is not fully charged, it should be closer to 12.6V when full

  32. It is rather disappointing as it did seem to be getting better, albeit always with a bit of vagueness about rules and boundaries. Since the sad demise of Tower Airsoft, which was a cracking little site, it was the only site that opened on Saturdays within what I regard as a reasonable travelling time. Rehearsals and recording sessions tend to eat into my available Sundays, so being able to play on a Saturday was quite useful. I am just about to head off for the penultimate rehearsal before our 25th Birthday gig and the lad is going back to university today, which is why we went there yesterday.

    First Airsoft gun

Ah, the classic HPA vs AEG debate... Personally, especially for a first gun, I'd just go with an AEG. HPA setups are really expensive as you're either paying £800 for an MTW, or you're paying £400+ for a HPA engine to stick into an AEG, so it's probably going to end up about £600 there with no guarantee it will work amazingly well. Then you need a tank, line and regulator so that's another £100+ to add in. I'd much rather pick up an AEG plus a ML hop rubber and nub for a fraction of the price. When people say that they have a 1fps variance on their HPA setups, firstly it's more than possible to do that with AEGs (probably for cheaper), and secondly that level of consistency is entirely unnecessary; not saying people are wrong for chasing it, but you absolutely don't need it to be competitive and hit consistent, accurate shots. At the end of the day, we're shooting plastic balls at each other that weigh less than half a gram and all the consistency in the world won't stop Mother Nature from deciding that your shots shouldn't hit at times. Trust me, as a long time bolt action rifle user I've seen more than a few shots veer off target because of a rogue twig or gust of wind £500 for a first gun is a lot, so you should be able to get something really nice. If you're interested in AR-15 SPR style rifles, I'd advise looking at the Cyma Platinum range. My friend has a cm097, which is an AR-15 SPR style rifle, and it's really good out of the box. Makes a fantastic platform to work on, but doesn't actually need that much to make it shoot really well. A Maple Leaf macaron hop rubber and an omega nub is all it really needs, but a nice 6.02 ZCI barrel can help with voluming and would easily fit into your budget. I'd spend the rest on load bearing gear, a nice sling, an optic, mags, an Odin speedloader, batteries, BBs etc. There's plenty of other things that you could get to make your life easier beyond just the gun, and this is all assuming you already have spent out on good eye protection and a good set of boots. If you do eventually go down the GBBR route (a great route to go down, but definitely not for everyone), it'll still be great to have a solid AEG as a backup rifle, just in case of issues or cold winter temperatures making gas far less efficient.

  42. Today South Herts Airsoft had their first midweek game and unlike many other sites where they're only in the evening this was a full day. Numbers were very low with only 6 a side but as the site is relatively small this wasn't a problem and the low numbers meant games were more tactical rather than the meat grinder which can happen with greater numbers. Hit taking was excellent and I heard no grumbles or complaints. In fact the only negative part of the day was self inflicted as I sent myself arse over tit running for cover and it was only when the adrenaline wore off I realised I'd landed in a load of stinging nettles All in all I hope this will be the first of many midweek games as I can't always get to games on sundays and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone in the Hertfordshire area give them a try

    Paint jobs

A long soak in Isopropyl Alcohol should help get rid of a lot of the paint. Shouldn't harm the plastic. My son's ebay-bought used Warhammer models have been left to soak for days with no ill effects. Back in the day - Fairy Power spray was awesome for removing krylon. Then they changed the recipe...😒 But that MP5 looks cool painted as-is. Black guns are boring anyway....

  46. Sunday at Special Ops "The Fireplace" My second trip to Carlos's new CQB site, and this one went better - I didn't get lost on the way, I didn't forget anything, I took less stuff (maybe connected to the previous point), and I had some better idea what to expect Considering my knee is knackered at the moment, I went a bit brave and booked in for the full day - £35 for 9:30 - 18:00 I'm a bit crap at remembering and describing actual gameplay so I'll just throw some thoughts at ya... Carlos has put together a decent playbook of games already He's put together a mildly amusing briefing video that gets all his usual info across in a nippy 10 minutes The helicopter helps block some of the line of sight to the first spawn, but it's still eminently 'trappable' by a good team 'Chopper' jokes might get old when everyone is doing them Grenades are fun Except when it doesn't go off, and you have to make The Walk Of Shame to retrieve it! A full day is a long time if you forget to take a packed lunch (only 'food' available: crisps, choccies and Pot Noodles) The 4-a-side mini tournament at the end of the day was great fun whilst you're playing, but the winner-stays-on style means there's a fair bit of waiting around. Some people bailed out, I was tempted myself as I could barely get up off the floor where I'd been resting. There were some long delays - Jet (for it that is his appellation) got his miniature scales out and checked everyone's BB's to make sure no-one was exceeding the 0.25 limit. The lunchtime changeover dragged on a bit due to stragglers, as did some end-of-game bomb-ups. Still, by lunchtime I was already grateful for the breathers, but others might have been annoyed. Hit-taking was mostly good, but a couple of annoying instances of having to pump multiple shots at people to make them "admit to the hit". This 'ere fat bloke running with a brick of Colombia's Finest Marching Powder, retrieved from that there heli-chopper https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/7277546335698561 This chap sitting In Da Chopppppppaaa pinned us down for a while. I made a run and chucked my grenade perfectly in and got him https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/435840382287286 "Consult the Book Of Armaments" The main thing is I went with the strongest possible intention to run my Tippmann for it's first proper game (I've had it 2 years already) - and it worked (in every sense!) Yay! This was my first experience of running an HPA system, and the tank and line weren't nearly as troubling as I suspected they might be - once I'd fed the line through my shoulder straps to keep it closer to my body. And swapped the tank from a belt pouch that wasn't designed for such a bulky / heavy item to a lightweight rucksack. The Tippmann was great - plenty of 'bang' with every shot, it really is the next best thing to a proper GBBR. It was also my first game with a tracer unit. Carlos is selling 2000x0.25g Bio tracers for £13 which seemed a pretty decent price, considering. I did get through ~3000 during the day (I took some Vorsk ones I'd already bought from Amazon, they were fine). Tracers proved damned useful in the dim lighting for getting the hop and sights sorted out (or allowing you to still hit stuff even when they're not!), and when Carlos dimmed the lights further in the late afternoon, those green streaks of light sure looked purdy I also took along my proven faves - the VFC HK416 GBBR (every shot remains a joyful experience), which I used until I exhausted my gas can. And of course the DE M906C Old Faithful (which in comparison to the other gats really showed it shoots like a frickin' laser beam - especially impressive with the tracers). Shame the thing currently screeches like a cat being run over by a steamroller, even after my attempts at adjusting the motor height. No wonder the motor got a little toasty again. I need Luke to fix it up for me. The HPA experience means I'm really quite likely to buy an Airtac adapter for my '416 now... the realistic gas mag changes are fun, but my 'speedloader' didn't exactly live up to its name (it's getting very graunchy), and with only 3 working mags I wasn't quite on it. I think the adapter plus a bunch of (relatively dirt-cheap) mid-caps instead will be a decent compromise. All in all a very good day

I'm calling this a collectors piece as not only is it stunning and adorned with full Beretta Trademarks, but it's neither been skirmished nor had many rounds through it. It started life as a brand new Gen2 WE M92. Being a Gen2 this has better build quality, working decocker, adjustable hop (with "VSR style bucking) and full-auto capabilities. I then had the trademarks engraved and picked up a lovely set of Altamont "vintage" real wood grips. As per the photo, the original WE grips will come with this, a long with the WE box. Beauty aside, this would make a serviceable sidearm for skirmishing, if you're so inclined. Price includes PayPal fees and tracked postage. Please PM any questions, as I don't get notifications for anything asked on the listing.
