Feedback time on LCT
ruskitseller reacted to lekne for a topic
Hi everyone . As LCT ambassador i would like to ask for LCT users feedback good one and bad one as well. What is ok and what would you like to be improved ? Also any models you would like to see in the future done by us ? Anyone run LCT as primary ? We will have showcasing boot at NAF pop in for catch up some patches etc. Cheers1 point -
Thank you. I did reach out directly to LCT first and was advised to go thought their official UK stockist, who is now states that the items I have ordered have now been returned to LCT by UK customs due to incorrect labelling by LCT. Sadly I don't think I have much choice in the matter as I need the parts to get my lct pkp running. Shame about the optics. I remember the LCT AK modularization campaign/show case they ran awhile ago, that had an advertisement wallpaper that showed a number of different ak optics. However, maybe that was more to demonstrate what real steel optics could fit on the LCT side rail plate rather than optics they where considering making.1 point

Gas bolt actions and DMRs are pretty much all I use and I think they're fantastic, but I can't recommend them as a first platform as they're finicky and require a lot of tweaking. You will not get the same consistency as a well set up spring or HPA setup (which really ruffles some peoples feathers for some reason), though you can get them consistent enough and the accuracy is just as good. However, every time you use them, you have to spend a bit of time dialling the power in as they're temperature dependent. Also, you can't chase the power limit (which again, really ruffles some peoples feathers) because if you chrono at 2.3J in the morning, you'll be pushing 2.6J by lunch on a warm day. All that said, if you really want a gas bolt action, the Tanaka m700 platform is the best. Pre-ban Tanaka rifles are the best, as it's pretty easy to adjust the power on them, but the clone KJW rifles are just as good, just a bit of a pain to adjust the power by comparison. They definitely need upgrades, regardless of which model you get though. Generally need to swap out the hop unit as the Tanaka unit is an ancient design and while the KJW unit takes VSR rubbers, it's a crap hop unit. Barrel, hop rubber and nub also need swapping out, and on some models you need to think about outer barrel as well, because the standard one houses a 630mm inner which is way too much and joule creeps uncontrollably. You also need to swap out the nozzle as they're way too short on the Tanaka rifles and a good 4mm(ish) short on the KJW, but no airsoft manufacturers make them, so you need to get them custom machined. For DMRs there are a lot more options that will do the job. I built mine on a TM MWS platform as a mk12 mod1 and it slaps, but I know people who have used various VFC rifles to build DMRs to great success, like the m110 or G28, but I can't tell you about those as I have no experience. A lot of work getting the rifles shooting well, and it's still not quite as good as a well-tuned tac41 or VSR as the power fluctuations will be higher due to how gas works and there's nothing you can do about that. However, they are more than accurate enough, and the power fluctuations aren't that awful, just some people get their knickers in a twist if their bolt action rifles aren't doing 3fps consistency. I have 3 VSRs (2x spring, 1x HPA), an SRS and an MTW, all pretty obsessively tuned, yet I still use my m700s, kar98s and my MWSs over them all.1 point

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
Rogerborg reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Which isn't really that different from the situation at the vast majority of sites. "What weight are you using?" "25s." "Yeah, you're fine." A) Player returns to his table and his bottle of 0.30g BBs. or B) When going out for the first game, Player resets his hop to where it should be. You don't like the way AP do it, that is fine. In all the times I have been there, I have never heard of anyone complaining about a potentially hot gun.1 point -
Sniper rifle or dmr
Gunner91 reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
To be completely honest, I have a number of well set up DMRs, a well set up HPA Sniper (L96), and an assortment of AEGs. The most accurate, long ranged, and consistent of my AEGs (a bone stock Krytac) has almost the same real world performance (range and accuracy) of the DMRs and Sniper. The extra 1J between them doesn't really count for that much in the real world. But - that’s not to say the play style that comes with each category isn't fun, and its nice to mix things up a bit. From the above, it sounds like this is half your aim? Unless you are indicating that you aren't going to be playing with it, but rather just using it in the garden. In which case, i'd venture that a garden that is big enough for you to shoot an airsoft sniper within is also big enough for you to construct a half decent backstop and enjoy the infinitely superior accuracy of an air rifle. But if its is a blend of ultimate performance and aesthetics that you are after with the sniper, and you are after a light bolt pull (with the gas system you specify) - maybe consider building a half decent rifle up from a cheap VSR (Cyma are often used as bases) or an L96 (e.g. a Well MB01) - throw in a load of parts (the building is half the fun), and consider one of the these parts being an HPA drop in kit - e.g. the Mancraft SDIK.1 point -

I don't think there's much for new gas snipers, though you can make VFC or GHK ARs into a bolt action with the Maple Leaf ARBA. Runs really well, surprisingly. For gas DMRs there's many more options. Basically any 7.62 rifle is pretty decent, some may need more hop up shimming than others to be excellent though.1 point -

Indoor Ranges
Tackle reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
I'd possibly dispute the 'well run' aspect of this! I've had some great evenings there, but also some very average evenings - 50/50. Last few times I went (admittedly must be a year or so ago), there was no safety brief, chrono was a little perfunctory, and the only marshall that was in evidence was a player marshal who was repeatedly accused of cheating by the opposition team to an extent that the entire team walked out midway through the final game and left. But - I have had some awesome evenings there, perhaps just go along with your eyes open. To the OP - you will know your kids and their nature, and clearly have indoor/CQB experience already with them. I haven’t played at the CQB sites you mention, but note that at both the Invicta black site and the Epsom tunnels the ranges you get hit from are very low - frequently less than a meter. I often come away bleeding and always with an assortment of sizeable bruises. Taking kids there - be aware that it will be impossible really for you to 'curate' their experience if that makes sense.1 point -

Invicta black site is really good fun, indoors, up close and personal, quite dark so you need to use the light to help with tactics, everyone is friendly, according to Google it's about an hour from Woking. It's not full auto as the engagement distance is usually 5-10m and semi is plenty. I use my MP5K with a Gate Astor for fast trigger response so can get a good number of BB's in the air. https://www.invictabattlefield.co.uk/cqb-site1 point

So I stupidly forgot to record what it was chronoing at with my .46s in there but I think it was up to i want to say 2.7 2.8 but that would be a guess. Barrel is clean bucking is in good condition, I guess I'll just have to order a few different springs and see what it comes out like, start with the 130 and go from there!1 point

The quality control on AK rear and front sight alignment is just awful. I have bought at least 6 AKs from LCT in past and I had to return 2 of them because the trunnion pin holes themselves were so badly drilled that the rear sight could never be aligned correctly with the path of the BB. Even when the trunnion is drilled in the right place, the front sight still needs a hammer to adjust it in the right place because the front sight pin holes are not drilled/pressed in the right place. Are there any plans to make this process more accurate? I have never had this problem with E&L AKs. I would love to see the AKM-63 back in the UK1 point -

So to answer the title of the thread: No. some brands of glock have slightly different exhaust valves. But generally speaking most modern GBB glocks all use the same exhaust valve. To answer the actual question, I’m fairly sure the valve you’ve linked on AliExpress will fit.1 point -

Interesting discussion for sure. We have done that in milsims and even utilised MILDEC nicely at times by sending out false sighting reports and patrol locations. All is fair in love and war...1 point -
I would no get one if only for the old school TM style Hop unit adjustment. It's incredibly easy for it to adjust itself after full autoing. The only MP5 style I will get is one with the sliding style hop unit.1 point

A rather nice set of combats in a Chinese Type 81 camo pattern - 'Tactical Toms' - the quality seems excellent, and the sizing is rather European which caught me out a little. Should be pretty good for lush summer woodland. Quite a fun pattern which I understand was inspired by British DPM originally when it first appeared in the very late 1970's/early 1980's. Oh, and a cheeky Cyma MP5SD. I've plans to pop a Mancraft inside it that is currently unused within one of my M4s, and put a full stock on to turn it into the SD5 version. I must say, out of the box it seems superb, one of the quietest running gearboxes I've encountered and very snappy for a non-mosfet gun.1 point -
Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
ruskitseller reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Sites should be chronoing with their own BBs, not trusting players at all. They should also be checking that some hop is applied, and spot checking in-game, given how easy it is to increase power with springs, gas or regulator adjustments. But that would require preparation to maintain a selection of speedloaders, and to tell players to leave room in their mags. Most sites don't even check tags during the day, let alone actual muzzle energy. There are some very rare exceptions, like the Depot, demonstrating that it can be done when the site runner and marshals actually care.1 point -

Lyndication reacted to Impulse for a topic
I'm with @Tackle on this. I'd be more okay with it in milsim than walk on play. At milsim, it's supposed to be closer to real life (after all, it does stand for military simulation) and you already have people showing up with more expensive comms setups, NVGs and thermals, drones, sometimes even vehicles. If you bring someone on your team who can intercept the level of comms that most airsofters are using, then that's just part of the milsim, same as if you roll up on a squad at night who don't have any NVGs while your team is all decked out with fancy gen3 goggles and thermal imaging devices. Is it fair? No, but it's the way it is (and it's one of a number of reasons I avoid milsims) Skirmish days you're going to get a whole lot of different people. You're going to get casual comms users, people who only use them to shit talk each other, people just starting out and testing out their brand new Baofengs with each other etc. Honestly, I'd be annoyed if someone was going to intercept and break into my comms at a skirmish day because I'm just there to vibe with my friends, maybe practice some scout sniper tactics and do some basic reconnaissance stuff. I'm not trying to be super serious, and I'm more focused on the other fieldcraft stuff than having ironclad secure comms and don't want to start having to teach the small handful of other people I'm on radio with a secret code language because some tryhard showed up to a skirmish day with the means to intercept comms. I'd view it in the same way as if someone brought a thermal scope to a skirmish day. If someone just flat out gets hold of your frequency through loose lips, then you deserve it, though I still think it's a dick move at skirmish and I still think that flipping through frequencies to try and brute force guess someone else's frequency is also a dick move. My anecdote comes from a place of setting up a frequency with some of the basic security features on the Baofeng (CTCSS settings for example) and then keeping it to a tight knit group of, at best, around 6 people at max. Can it be intercepted? I'd be surprised if it couldn't be as I'm no cybersecurity specialist, but at the skirmish level it should be more than sufficient1 point -
