I've only ever bought from DCA once as it was a small part I couldn't find anywhere else and it all went smoothly. However I agree some of his prices are an absolute joke. What really puts me off buying from him though is the way he acts like a spoiled child on social media5 points -

A Russian wife turned to her husband and asked, "What's this special military operation our glorious leader keeps talking about?" Her husband replied, "It's a war to stop America and NATO." "Oh, right” she says “How's it going?" “Well” he replied “so far we have lost over 20 generals, over 315,000 troops killed or wounded, 3000 tanks, 300 aircraft, hundreds of helicopters, countless armoured vehicles, artillery and trucks, our flagship along with other naval ships, our army is being defeated in most areas and we have had to resort to conscripting 500,000 Russians including murders and rapists to replace our losses”. “Wow” replied the wife “what about America and NATO”? “They haven’t turned up yet”5 points -

It's still live, but the piss taking speedwanker (or "Seller" as commonly known) has closed the advert to further questions and removed any that have been asked so far. On another note, I wouldn't care if it lobbed 1000bbs a second, was made of solid platinum and came with a cheque for £500, no hi capa, especially not one that looks like it's been polished up with a headless smurf carcase is worth that!3 points -
No hi-capa is worth £700, no matter how much the seller has been silly enough to throw at it, especially as the original straight out of the box TM variants are superb on almost every level, anything added is usually just prettying them up, bit like a girl with her favourite dolly ?3 points

Definitely WE. Their glocks are rather good nowadays and they’re TM spec so there’re tons of aftermarket parts. Stay well clear of anything Raven or Vorsk. It will break sooner than later. If you want the best glock that will hold up for ages and shoots great, have a look at TM. Although they have a plastic slide.2 points -

A teacher trying to teach good manners, asked her students the following question: 'Michael, if you were on a date having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you tell her that you have to go to the bathroom? 'Michael said: 'Just a minute I have to go pee.' The teacher responded by saying: 'That would be rude and impolite. What about you Sherman, how would you say it?' Sherman said: 'I am sorry, but I really need to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back.' 'That's better, but it's still not very nice to say the word bathroom at the dinner table. And you, little Johnny, can you use your brain for once and show us your good manners?' Johnny said 'I would say: Darling, may I please be excused for a moment? I have to shake hands with a very dear friend of mine, whom I hope to introduce you to after dinner.' The teacher fainted2 points -

I should add, all this is discounting the strong tendency of airsoft battery manufacturers to lie about the capacity and discharge ratings they advertise. You could very well be using a battery that has only 60% of it's advertised capacity and 50% of the discharge, thus skewing the apparent performance of your RIF far away from accurate. My personal pack I spoke of in the above post (Kypom 3S butterfly 2200mah) has actually been tested at 2106mah, so the capacity is pretty close to advertised by airsoft standard. And this is by far one of the best packs in this range, which may contribute to a higher apparent "shots per man" rating.1 point

The ghillie discussion
Impulse reacted to Badgerlicious for a topic
Well, Worthing went through with the new limitations to ghillies. Nothing below a viper hood (shoulders) with 1.14j full auto. DMR and bolt actions only for anything longer or a full ghillie. However they have upped their DMR limits to 1.88j so we're in line with most other sites now, which is nice. At least I now have an excuse to finish my viper hood and buy some better combats.1 point -

I'm going to be the annoying one and say unless your heart is set on the kick from a metal slide going back and forth the AAP-01 is a way better and cheaper choice (and uses Gen 4 mags). You benefit from better gas efficiency, a way better hop unit, and better accuracy. To get my son's WE EU17 G4 to match a stock AAP-01, for hop and accuracy, needed a Maple Leaf hop unit + bucking + better inner barrel.1 point

Raven EU17 or WE EU17
Rogerborg reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
In that price bracket/between the two you are considering, go with the WE. Many WE products get mixed reviews, but the one thing that most people can agree on is that their Glocks are pretty good. I have a Gen 5 Glock 19 from them, and a Gen 3 Glock 17 - both have been great. Prices can vary significantly on these, so do shop around. Also, the WE Glock mags are generally pretty well regarded, and can be had from overseas sellers (e.g. Hong Kong based) a little cheaper than from the UK if you are prepared to wait a few weeks for them to turn up. I've never had a Raven pistol, but from what I read, they are a bit of a budget gun, and the quality/QC is variable.1 point -

1 shot per 1mAh?
DanBow reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
The other thing to be mindful of is of course the condition of your battery. An old, or poorly made battery that has been left to drain below it's lowest recommended voltage previously will not be holding the capacity it says on the sticker..... I have bought a few aliexpress batteries as I'm a sucker for such things, and had very mixed results. But if the battery gives you good performance in other guns, or swapping in a similar capacity battery into the mp5 gives the same results, then might be the gun. I tend to swap my 1300mah batteries out after each 1hr game in most of my guns that use them, whether they run down or not - that's probably anything from 300 to 700 shots for me.1 point -

First Airsoft gun
The_Lord_Poncho reacted to Leo Greer for a topic
The FPS itself will change by a margin of maybe 1-1.5% depending on humidity, altitude, and temperature, but by and large the consistency I can achieve is the same. That build was built and chronoed at ~800 feet above sea level, 75 degrees F, 50% humidity. I recently put together a new DMR build shooting 300 FPS on .48g w/ ~1 FPS variance, and tested at ~8,000 above, 20 deg. F, and 75% humidity. I do a rigorous set of stabilization mods designed to create an extremely consistent hop rubber to nozzle seal, and I think that really makes the difference. Basically, I make sure the barrel and hop unit can't move whatsoever, and that the hop unit is pressed solidly to the gearbox. Hop unit springs are the enemy, cork and plastic shims are the best. I'll see if I can try some "varied environment" testing with the same build and report back. I'll make it into a separate thread though!1 point -

Bring your own. Talking to the owner they've looked into having a local burger van or similar but from what they said nobody is really interested as they'd need a minimum of 30 to make it worthwhile. Not really an issue for me as in my experience the food provided at many sites is a bit crap1 point -
Your system draws a lot of current then. I run 7,4v 1450mAh 30c batteries in my M4s and my average BB consumption per game day is about 2000 (say 5/6 fully depleted Lonex Flash Mags). The battery tester I use says that with the above conditions I get my battery from 99/98% charge down to 30ish, now I don't know that the percentage refers to, but all things considered I think my builds are at okay efficiency.. All this in full auto for the most part. Also keep in mind that semi auto fire draws way more than full auto, the current required to get the motor going is much higher than the current needed to keep the motor going once it's already spinning. It's not hard to imagine that thirsty motor + semi spam will deplete an average sized battery in a short time, but 500 shots is definitely a sign that something needs addressed in your gun. p.s. I'm confident I have butchered every electrical term and principle with this comment, sorry, I build houses and survey the land, not an electrician/electrical engineer1 point

To be fair, 450mAh is tiny - which gun was this in? I can happily (well, reasonably happily - it's a squeeze) get a 2200 7.4v nunchuck battery in the front handguard of my Cyma MP5 - which looking at your list might have the tightest battery space of your current guns..?1 point -

I'm not deaf, so i can't say how it affects someone. Here we are( sorry) ranking the problems we perceive that a deaf a person would have in our game and how it affects us and them. Only the deaf person can say really. One of the main issues I have seen is social isolation, get him out playing a game, if he cant hear his hits (that tickled me) shoot him again for example. Speech to text is widely available so he can read the chat going on around him at lunch or whatever. I'm sure he can figure stuff out, its clunky compared to just speaking but perfectly serviceable. Nothing wrong being out of a comfort zone... unless you don't want to be.1 point -
Have a look on Reapers Air soft, he has a table he has done for various motors and their mAh per shot. Go to 43 mins to see that table, but long story short around 1mAh a shot is the highest. Depending on the motor you may get from 900 to 5800 bbs for each 1000MAh. There are lots of variables tho, and data measurement can vary with method so it's going to be ballpark. You will get more shots from a good ( low IR) battery of the same capacity and a good battery running at a fraction of it's current giving ability will give you more shots than a smaller one running closer to it's limit.1 point

1 shot per 1mAh?
Rogerborg reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
To echo the above, I have one particular replica - bought on this forum second hand that shoots great (at AEG limits), is really snappy, and doesn't sound like the gearbox is badly shimmed. But I always need to take a spare battery into a game with me when i use it - for some reason it gets through a battery (to the point where the gearbox locks up) in under an hours skirmish - whereas other 350fps rifs I use will happily run off the exact same battery for 2-3 hours. But ultimately, if we can afford a spare Lipo to bring with us (and lets face it, these days they are pretty cheap - especially with Hobbyking having reopened in the UK), it's possibly a bit of an academic discussion!1 point -

Ok; here is my KWA B&T MP9 GBB SMG. I took these on the day I got it. Its great for CQB, with a terrific RoF. FPS is 330 with 0.2g BBs at 12 degrees C with Abbey Ultra gas. With Guarder Black gas at room temperature it was pushing out 385!!!! Downside is that the mags cost £40 each Anyway here are the pics: As I said before, these are old pics. The Eotech (Clone) is from my M4 but I have put a small Aimpoint T1 Red-dot on it and it is much better (the T1 has a far lower profile). For indoor games I also mount my Surefire Scout Light. The sling is a WAS SF Single Point sling, but I can use the MP9 as a sidearm; and for this I use a Blackhawk Weapons Catch that velcros around the Sight, onto my belt. Hope you like. Neil1 point
