  4. These look great, not something I need but very impressive. You may not want bump level protection now, but it might become a factor for you in the future. I can't tell you the number of times I've bought kit that was fit for what I wanted right then, didn't care about some element of it, only for that feature to become very important to me later. It's been the case with optics, rifs, clothing, helmets, chest rigs etc. Sometimes the change in need has just been for the larp, sometimes it's been a feature that's been required. When spending any sum of cash, I'd always recommend some well rounded consideration. Also, while these are responses to your initial question, as a forum this acts as a repository of information that others may find interesting

  5. Since the bolt is plastic and weighs basically nothing this is the result. Shooting around 340fps with the longer barrel. This is on a we tech glock 19 mag. also added a magnet to keep the charging handle forward. MOV_3522.mp4

  6. As others have said start by looking at the hop rubber and chamber. Take a chrono reading if you can so you can confirm the power. Remove the inner barrel, clean, refit and test. Come back with some results for us.

As part of my little shopping spree this week I was after a nuprol open top double AK mag pouch and these guys had them for a few quid cheaper than anywhere else. Having never heard of them I was a little unsure how legit they are, but as it was only a small order I decided to risk it and I'm glad I did as it arrived this morning well packaged. All in all I'd definitely buy from them again https://www.allagesairsoft.com/

    S&T G36 Hop up

I just ordered one of these for an ares SL9, seems to be the only place I could find in the UK with it in stock. Not fancy by any means but will sort out a pew I have missing the bloody nub. https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/cyma-g36-hop-up-chamber-with-hu-bucking.html

My bad, they were long gone by then, I grew up around there & they were the only firm in the area that had that kinda kit, but when I came out of the mob I couldn't actually afford to move back there, well not to buy anyway, poxy yuppies lol Edit: I've just had a flashback to my childhood, if not sof it must have been Regimentals, tiny little shop on the Essex Rd, they'd have gear going back to napoleonic times, & plenty of deacts.

Many moons ago I took a wee daytrip to Landan town (from Glasgow)& bought a deactivated Bren from a wee shop in Angel Islington, as you can imagine the box it was packaged in was mahoosive. Popped on the Tube to go catch my train home and when I got to Euston station I thought... hmm, the IRA are still a thing, I better leave this with the transport police until I catch my train home. Long story long, they weren't interested, "take it to left luggage if you want mate". I'm still shocked 30 years later. p.s. cool build.

  13. That novatech has an ESC mounted on the side, you'll see 3 wires one for each of the 3 phases leaving the board to the motor. That blue wire is for the trigger and there's a programmer for the ESC. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.begadi.com/catalog/sheets/17217001-manual.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwj-0IyR1q2EAxXLZ0EAHR4nBko4ChAWegQIDhAB&usg=AOvVaw20Smh6im4n2MnCawEs30X1 It's been around a long time, since 2017 it seems. Yeah Leo, I'd read in this forum about it, but couldn't find it again. It is very different and interesting but given that it's so unique it would take some time to get anywhere, if it's even needed.

  14. On a similar thread I've had really good results using GT-86 which is a PTFE spray that is also a dry lube which means that it doesn't attract and hold dust. With regards to particularly silicon grease (not oil) this should be avoided for metal on metal and sliding contact as it heats up and then binds. It's not a lubricant but rather a grease to protect o-rings from drying out as well improving the air seal. Other greases will also likely attract dirt and bind up with time as well. Where they do work well is where the surfaces don't slide such as in a gearbox because there is simply less friction involved. But yeah, I'm a big fan of GT-86 and some bisley gun oil on the bolt for smoothness 👍

  16. As long as that 0.28g ball of plastic comes out of the barrel at around 290fps, I'm happy 🤣🤣😁 @ak2m4 your 6.00 got installed yesterday on the Aug. I've just pulled the trigger on it and I have to say, so far,so good! So far she's had an Base 27k, new sector gear, new hop rubber and tensioner, new barrel and a tidy up. On a 7.4v it's smart. Snappy. 0.85j @ 900rpm. Haven't tested the 9.9v or the 11.1v yet.

  17. Oh yeah, me too. Has to be the UK army spec with the simple rear sight though, amirite? I believe the reason they get bad reviews is it's easy to break the nozzle or knock it off line if you slam-load a mag with the slide forwards. If you always have the slide locked back for reloads to keep it out of harm's way, it'll be fine. (At least that was my understanding, there might be other stuff too) So yeah, we share two guns on our wishlist 😋👍

Just make sure you buy the proper version which has hop-up. Multiple different models are out there.

  20. A good compromise if you want a decent bump helmet but don’t want to shell out the £600+ for an ops core is the EON carbon composite helmet. Carbon shell like the ops core and comes with 4D pads, real Wilcox shroud too.

    fps changing

I've added an o ring to the other hop adjuster screw and took out the plastic pin at the front and replaced it with a bolt to clamp things down a bit. It's only friction holding the slidey part in place so I added some. Put some markings on the gearbox cylinder maybe. sourcing map 10 Pcs Adhesive Backed Tape Measure 10cm Left to Right Read Measuring Tapes Stick on Workbench Ruler (Black) https://amzn.eu/d/ccTv0Nn

  22. LOL, I probably did, but we're so used to going off on a tangent as we relate our own experiences with kit we're discussing, thought I'd point out the elephant in the room 🤣 Definitely a +1 on these, way better fit than having to ratchet your chinstrap down to stop the lid moving, not a good look if you've got chubby chops🐷

  27. One True BRAND 🙂 You're right, not needed. Most Nitrile comes with decent anti-oil protection aleady. The same Viton / FKM oring is often 5% thicker so it's better used when looking to make up a little extra space.

  31. Played another half day today and actually managed nearly all of it! There was only12 of us with 4 or 5 first timers but it was a really good day. They first timers were all young teenagers so it took them the 1st game to realise that it doesn't hurt when you get shot. Standard attack/defend games were played and by the time I had had enough there were some very good tactical manoeuvres emerging with fantastic comms being shouted. Pics below . . . That's my eldest daughter. Another proud father moment.

  32. I use a PTS Flux and it’s super comfy. The cutout at the back is useful for looking up stairs/being prone, and it’s easily the comfiest helmet I’ve ever worn. It’s a licensed copy of the real deal, and there aren’t that many around which is quite nice. It’s not all roses though. As the pads are memory foam they can get super warm in the height of summer, but that’s the price you pay for the comfort. The straps and pads come out to be washed if you have sweated in I t. As the rails are MLOK you have to be a bit more discerning over putting things on it, but I’ve not had an issue with things like putting cans on there. And then there’s the cost. As it’s a proper replica and is made of nice things it’s not the cheapest around, but it arguably one of the best.

  33. I had a more genuine sniper experience yesterday at Worthing Airsoft than I think I've had in a while. We played a long, multiple objective game in the morning, as they have the past few game days and I've been enjoying this, and I took up a position overwatching a pathway with my KJW m40a5. I lay in position for about 2 hours, watching movements in the distance and not shooting at all as my team pushed up to the checkpoint in front of my position, so I decided to get up and move because I was getting cold lying in the dirt. As soon as I pushed up, everyone on my team in front of me and around me got hit and I decided to go back to my previous position. Last hour of the game I went through all 3 of my mags holding that path, as it then got very busy. Had to pick my shots, because in cold weather the cooldown effect of my gas magazines is amplified and if I shoot too quickly the power will plummet. It's an interesting complication, but I would much rather it get warmer so my rifle performs to its best! I think the only thing that could've made the experience more genuine is if nobody pushed up the path the whole game and also if I pissed myself and had to lie in it, but fortunately that didn't happen 😂 Didn't play in the afternoon. Only had 5 hours sleep the previous night and with my current diet and exercise regime that is about half of what I should be getting, so I was really tired and I wasn't that bothered with dealing with the cooldown challenges of my rifle all day. Once my m14 socom is sorted I'll probably use that until it warms up a little, but most of my collection are gas guns and will have similar issues at the moment.

  34. To HPA a GBBR, you’d need a “tap” that goes into the magazines and replaces the gas port. It’s essentially a replacement for green gas. The grip ones are usually AEG, which involves an “engine”. By no means an expert though!

  35. All this technical stuff is giving me a headache, let me share my wisdom, Beef Sausage... 4kg lean beef, 1kg bread rusk, 210g seasoning(special recipe), 3kg cold water. Mince beef through a medium plate, add dry ingredients & mix thoroughly, add water & mix again, mince a second time then fill into skins, link evenly & sell the buggers. any one disagree?

So to add to this issue in case anyone suffers the same: Strip and clean trigger box. Inspect your springs. I replaced ALL of mine as I had a old Dytac set for nearly 4 years. Some springs had actually compressed and failed. Relube with thin weight oil. No grease. Give a small spray of silicone oil on top once reassembled Now having zero issues with Semi auto run on. Even readjusted my adjustable trigger and sears and works lovely. Figured I put a means to an end some if someone searches for this issue.

  37. none of it is an issue if you have the right tools , I’ve done a few MK18’s for people and each one has come off with no issues , I see people saying they needed to cut them off and getting in a right mess but like I say with the right tools it’s not a problem .
