  1. Yes & no, fets, sound generators, tracers, smoke generators, various options for recoil, hpa, wanker guns, the list is seemingly endless. Or, you could run a bog standard aeg with technology more than 25 years old, & still dominate the battlefield. Works for me 😁 (sometimes lol😏)

  2. What is it with at least 50% of You tubers who insist on calling a MK23 (i.e. 'Mark23') pistol an 'M' 'K' 23?!! It makes me cringe every time! Am I being irrationally intolerant? Probably, but I can't help it - I just want to throw stuff at the screen when they do it, and once you've heard them say it the first time, you can't then unhear it for the next 40 times they mention it in the course of the video.... And don't even get me started on the ' Em Kay 18' rifle!

  3. An old Finnish joke about the Winter War: A large group of Russian soldiers in the border area in 1939 are moving down a road, when they hear a voice call from behind a small hill: "One Finnish soldier is better than ten Russians". The Russian commander quickly orders 10 of his best men over the hill where a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence. The voice once again calls out: "One Finn is better than one hundred Russians." Furious, the Russian commander sends his next best 100 troops over the hill and instantly a huge gun fight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence. The calm Finnish voice calls out again: "One Finn is better than one thousand Russians!" The enraged Russian commander musters 1000 fighters and sends them to the other side of the hill. Rifle fire, machine guns, grenades, rockets and cannon fire ring out as a terrible battle is fought... Then silence. Eventually one badly wounded Russian fighter crawls back over the hill and with his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men... it's a trap. There are two of them!"

    Looking for a team

Welcome Denis ✋ Honestly your best bet is to attend your local site and chat to people there. Of course you can tell us where you'll be playing and someone who goes there may chime in or PM you. Just in case you want to look for a site near you: https://playairsoft.uk/map Enjoy 👍

  5. That boils my blood. If you think the token adoption fee the shelters charge is expensive then you cant afford to keep even a healthy cat, and that's not fair to the animal.

  6. Wait, you guys aren’t calling it a SOCOM?

  7. Been playing for 24 years now there has been some major improvements if you want to modify your gun, but the QC is still spotty as hell and TM is still the only really reliable brand. However in the end if you actually know how to set a hop unit you can still be competitive with stock JG G36.

  8. Running my British WW1 kit a few weeks ago up at Adrenalin Airsoft (Was visiting a friend, very far north for me usually) one of the best regular skirmish days I've had in a while! (Repping the First Battalion Boys WW1 team insignia, based on blackadder's fictional badges)

  9. My walls are getting a bit cramped so got some longer grid mesh to give my pews a little space & room to expand. p.s. excuse the mess, I'd only just finished moving them all from A to B & back again.

  10. @Tackle - I think we're talking about different situations. I mean when someone who doesn't have a pet says "I can't afford £150 to buy a cat. Can anyone give me one for free?" You seem to be referring to caring pet owners, running in to unexpected difficulties? I of course wouldn't look down on the latter.

  15. Sadly, it is indeed "worth a try" though. There was a 15 year old lad begging on one of the UK Failbook groups who successfully grifted a bunch of gear from "you can't tell me this is a bad idea!" contrarians. As a thank you, he started posting pictures of himself up on his roof, doing his best Rooftop Korean impression. The "told you so" was epic.

  16. Asks the man considering HPAing a TM pistol 😄. Short answer no, long answer hell no. Bring back the world of nicads and the only 2 aeg options were TM or classic army. Ok maybe there's some good stuff that's come to light in more recent years but it ain't all good.

  17. I think that young blood brings in new ideas and innovations Just take a look at the expo that happened across in Taiwan a few weeks ago, most of the reps and innovators/ manufacturers who are introducing the new stuff are barely of shaving age. My parents could barely get their head around owning a Betamax let alone getting it to programme to record one of the 3 available channels. Now mum (chasing 80) is able to get her box to pause live tv while she saves another programme on the hard drive to watch later Innovation comes along and we get used to it, but I’ve only been playing maybe 7 years now and have seen things progress I understand the use of hpa, but ruins the immersion for me with the umbilical Bluetooth programming of mosfets seems useful Lipo’s or Life battery’s are certainly much better than NiCad’s Thermal imaging will be cheaper and common in a couple of years Still lots to look forward to I suppose, it’s great to see it continue to evolve Young players are the future of our hobby for innovation

  19. Regarding people: too many speedsofters indoor who act like they're in a tournament and they have to WIN at any cost to compensate for their small pp. Advancement in technology is always a good thing. When I was a kid rich people bought Marui or CA and poor people bought Cyma. Nowadays so many good manufacturers out there you don't have to spend silly money to get a really good gun.

  20. Some of the replies on here are amazing to read through 😂 I’ve been in airsoft for about 5 years and always thought it was just me who thought there were some delusional people expecting well over retail for a used gun for no reason! scared to post my gun for sale now though… but I’ll be checking back on here just in case there’s any ‘friendly’ advice 😉

  21. Sounds like a great plan, except the pikey bastard will probably open a fresh account, & sell your knackered gat at full price to an unsuspecting noob claiming it's in full working order, payment by bank transfer or F&F only....... "no ukara mate, no problem but we'd better keep it on the DL then & F&F it" 😉

  22. Son and I did our first games with our own kit yesterday! Spent the morning at Dogtag in Sussex. The guns and eyepro we had bought worked faultlessly and really upped our enjoyment of the games. In total this was our fourth session and we are starting to get a feel for this now, there’s less running around like headless chickens and we’re starting to think about strategy. Theres lots more gear to buy 😂 like decent gloves, something to hold spare mags, etc. Pretty happy with our weapons, my son got a number or people remark how good his one looks with scope and suppressor. roll on next weekend!

    TM MP5 NGRS Owners

Got the vfc mp5 flashlight handguard mounted on the A4. had to do a tiny bit of dremel work for the back tab that goes into the upper receiver. The part of the outer barrel under the cocking tube (where there’s a Phillips screw) comes into contact with the top of the tab so I sanded it down some. the holes for the retaining pin is oblong. The stock pin will still stay in place but I opted to use the handguard pin that came with my Magpul SL mp5 handguard as the flashlight handguard won’t need to come off anyway. Figured this way, the pin (which has a screw threading into it) locks the handguard into place.

  24. The Dyslexic in me made sense of it straight away - perhaps the responder has a similarly operating mind. Yes it should have been clearer, but it's hardly Apple Corp or Tesco type organisations we're dealing with. Mind you, I spot typo's in all sorts of website sites and publications. Hell, I sent a letter from my son's school back with red marks on the errors with a post-it saying that we should expect better from a Grade 1 Ofsted listed school. I wasn't very popular. 😁

  25. I did some work on my mates car for him and in payment he gave me a pew that I didn't have in my collection..... An Ares Scar L. It didn't work (i knew this, he knows i like playing with them to revive them!) so i got to it. stripped, cleaned, greased, shimmed, confused about this EFCS malarkey, figured it out, chrono'd at 0.6j (0.28g) and wondered why the ambidextrous selector was in a bag in the box.... OH MY GOD. what a faff. No, scratch that, WHAT A MONUMENTAL PAIN IN THE ASS THAT IS!!! Now i have patience. I'm an engineer. things that come apart should go back together (with the odd left over screw of course) but even i gave up with that!! Nightmare job. Anyway. Scar L now 1.1J on a 0.28 and with the help of the internet, firing semi/3 shot. Safe is more of a suggestion on behalf of the selector switch (that ISNT ambi!!!!!) Just thought i'd vent/share. LOL.

  28. Partially stripped the Uzi down to solder on a Deans connection (all of my batteries are that fitting) Had to extend the wires a few cm’s as there isn’t enough meat for an easy job using the standard wiring. Job done, plugged in a fresh 7.4 and the appropriate clicks/bangy/pewey noises were made. Relief, it works! Then noticed the only battery that will fit in the battery trough is fractionally too tall, stopping the top cover clicking down properly. Looks like one of the squillion ranger bands I made will do the trick just fine Chrono and range test tomorrow 🤞

  29. Going through Istanbul, anything other than shipping it internationally, probably not a chance in hell - its nigh on impossible to properly document them to meet the Turkish requirements for importing firearm replicas, even those in transit to elsewhere.

  31. Thanks both - I'll go with eiher CYMA or Nuprol - whichever is cheaper - in the 30 round capacity. Are the 15 round ones reduced in size for any reason does anyone know?

  32. I'd say yes and no. There have been quite a few changes where newer tech is slowly adopted, such as lipos and mosfets, but they're nowhere near essential and nothing touted as a game changer has remotely been anything like one

  35. In Italy it's more commonly referred to as "SOCOM" because it's easier to pronounce (and sounds much better, from a language perspective) than Mark 23, mk23 or any other name.

  36. I told you all I was waiting for something expensive to arrive... MWS #2 will be a short barreled rifle. Will have a modern and a retro build for it, but will likely just go retro most of the time.

  37. The tethering, the cost, the magazine's, carrying a bottle. Hpa is not cheap at all, but it's a better gas for guns. Cost/benefit for me is unacceptable. Same for GBBR, cost/benefit wise.

  40. I've put rain X or similar on the outer lenses to keep them useful. The a version for plastic now. Rain and visors was a terrible combination without something like this on them. Anti fog on the inside, rain X on the outside.

  41. Ironically membranes like this only work when they are dry, they get wet and you soak yourself from the inside since they become plastic bags. Hence the dwr on such things. I gave up long ago trying to keep feet dry, one or two pairs or wool socks soak up a fair bit of moisture and you can change them out at lunch. If you are going to get your feet a little damp it won't matter either way and if your going through puddles, or standing in water, leather or the membranes will result in the same result, wet feet. Some feet are sweatier than others of ofcourse so some might get on with membranes better. I change my socks out, I find it more comfortable that way. I have the sealskin gloves too, very nice gloves but mine are too short to keep the water out.

  42. Are you after the post that sit between the protective wings of the front sight that is screwed in? Because when you say your missing the post for your front sight I am thinking of this just as an example https://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/Hephaestus-AK-Tritium-Front-Sight-Post-for-AEG-GBB.html As the picture you posted is the friction pin that keep the front sight block in place on the barrel for lct replicas.

  45. Latest arrival Not much info regarding these online, and YT videos are very old and scarce Im pleasantly surprised with the build quality of the TM plastics and more metal than I had expected. Still to be tested as my batteries are deans and I don’t want to change this at all. more a collectors piece than skirmishable, but it will get an outing one day The few YT videos out there show partial markings, this has full “UZI” on the receiver, probably something to do with different markets, but didn’t think that TM bothered with that stuff

  47. Not that i'm taking his side, but one wonders if calling out his real name (assuming this to be information he hasn't willingly put out himself) isn't doxxing, or at least doxxing adjacent? As for the rest of his antics, well for me it boils down to this; Because wether he's as big an asshole as he plays on camera, or a saint playing the devil, is irrelevant when the issue is that the persona that gets presented to the world outside our hobby casts it in such a negative light. The last damn thing we need is pr like that because the absolute best case scenario is we get a flood of people joining in with the preconceived notion of that being an acceptable way to act. The worst is one can only imagine the fodder his videos would provide for those who can't stand guns (or gun adjacent activities) and would see them out of the hands of anyone who isn't an actor or a video game sprite.

  48. That's what I thought. Mind you I'd like to know their reasoning behind the lower limit for HPA as joules are joules, no matter what the mechanism powering it. Staffordshire Militaria list Sierra 2 Airsoft as a partner on their website so I'd say yes. Why should they be avoided?
