I don't comment much on here anymore but as someone who's built and sold many Glocks at a massive loss, this did leave me chuckling at the gall of this ad. His breakdown of costs actually includes a £65 labour charge (that he's invoiced himself!?). Then he's asking for the total new price + "labour" + £20 postage. Why didn't I think of this when I sold this one which had a Guarder aluminium slide, steel outer barrel, nylon fibre frame, metal piston head, 150% recoil spring, uprated hammer spring, Flamingo bucking and Guarder lightweight mag for £175 posted!? 🤔 Also don't get me wrong, the Gen.3 is still a solid platform but if he wants even half of what he's asking (plus billing this as a "sleeper build"), then he really should have based it on a Gen.4. Possibly he's not bothered about selling it, which is good because the chances of it going for anymore than about a third of what he's asking, are slim.4 points -

Not going to be a long one today. Went down to Worthing again this weekend with my KJW m40a5, TM MWS (mk12 mod1), TM mk23 and TM p226 (that I was lending my friend's grandson as he is currently thinking about what pistols he likes and wanted a go). Got there, got the gear out, took the m40a5 up to the range to set it up, as last time I used it was last weekend's halloween night game and I was running it at 1J on .32s... Here is where the first issue came up. It was dribbling BBs out the barrel on both 144a and green gas, even with the hop completely off. So, that was out. Went back to grab my MWS and... it wasn't hopping. The power was fine, but the hop just wasn't there. Well... crap. Both guns not working. Well, guess I'm not playing then. I worked on the MWS first, asking one of the techs on site if he had a spare omega nub as I had a feeling that was what was causing the issue. I had a 50 degree silicone omega nub and I had a feeling it wasn't applying enough pressure to hop BBs. Fortunately he had a spare one so I put that in and... it worked. As soon as I had the regular omega nub in it was hopping BBs like a dream and far more consistently than it was with the old MR hop rubber that was in from my old bits box that's been sitting there for years. New silicone MR rubber and a regular nub and it's lifting those .32s nicely at 1J (though it's a bit colder now so I had to open the NPAS a little!). Anyway, I had another gun that needed sorting and I wasn't sure what the issue was so I just decided to go from the ground up. I started with the bolt and... that was the issue. Somehow it had come loose and unwound itself so the hammer spring wasn't under any tension so it was barely hitting the gas release on the magazine. I tightened that up again and got it all sorted and took it up to the range. It was 2.5J so I had to adjust the power a little, but brought it down to around 2.2J and it was shooting incredibly well. I was hitting the 75m every shot and with a bit of hop towards the end of the flight I was hitting the 85m target most times as long as the wind didn't take the shot (which definitely happened a few times). It's amazing while shooting with 12x zoom how much you notice the hop up trajectory and all the tiny movements; even deployed with the bipod, at 12x zoom I could see every little movement but I was able to get some accurate shots and hear the BBs dinking off the metal target. This is why I like setting my guns up while nobody else is on the range as I can't properly set it up if I can't hear the shots and when you have mr brrrrrt and his AEG full autoing the 20m target... Yeah, not happening. Anyway, after lunch I decided to zero the MWS as well, getting the scope, 45 degree mounted RMR and the laser all zeroed. With all that done, there was only an hour left, so I decided not to head out. While I didn't play at all, it was still a pretty successful day since I now have two of my main guns properly set up and shooting incredibly nasty!2 points

Yes SHS get around the issue by using copper for a certain size. I've never had any issues with the copper shims in a gearbox so that's when I thought of using aluminium shims since they can be annodized pretty cheaply. I have come across alum shims before but never used them. Only real way to tell is get some made up and then run in a gearbox for a 500,000 pews2 points

Here we have a custom Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Gen III. Built from some of the highest quality materials. The intention was to skirmish it. It’s now looking for a new home. Everything in the photo has been installed. Known as a 'sleeper', it appears predominantly stock/standard with a large number of internal upgrades. The upgrades improve accuracy, range, reduce gas consumption, strengthen the robustness of the pistols function, improve each firing action of the slide, improve trigger feel and response, improve cycle rate and firing feel, improve sighting. On top of that the trigger, front sight and steel body pins add to the look of the pistol. All components are new apart from the extra mag, which has been used indoors to test the pistol during fitment. It has NOT been skermished. Components: -Brand New Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Gen III £140 -Test Fired Extra Marui Mag £26 -X2 Madbull Routers £13 -Fiber Sight £18 -Trigger With x3 Inner-Triggers To Choose From £28 -Steel Guide Rod & Spring Set £18 -Enhanced Piston Head £5.60 -Precision CNC Inner Frame £40 -Steel Hammer & Spring Set £42.50 -Steel Body Pin Set £11 -Hop and 6.02mm Barrel & Hop-Rubber Set £28 -Precision CNC Blowback Unit £48 -Steel Trigger Lever £33 -Custom ACP Pistol Stand £15 -Gas inlet Valve O-Rings (no-leak when filling) £free -Build Cost: £64 TOTAL: 530.00 It’s all been painstakingly filed, fitted and tuned and has had about 400 bb’s through it to test it during fitment. I’ve designed it to be functional on standard propane gas (328fps) as well as tolerate High-Pressure Air. However please be advised that the plastic slide can only tolerate so much pressure before it fails. All in all a side-arm for life! Enough of unreliable sidearms. Though saying that, I’ve played pistols as primary weapons for years! I've built many pistols over the years and speak from experience. Investing in a Glock means access to one of the largest pool of readily available pistol upgrades on the Airsoft market.£530

GHK Sig 553 (pre2019). Comes with 6 leak free mags, the folding stock and quad handguard pictured. Also upgraded internally with a maple leaf barrel and rubber. The mags themselves have tape wrapped baseplates as it's one of the points of failure with these mags (along with the couplers), and in this case one or two of them have split. Other than this, the gun is one of the most realistic I have owned, the finish is exceptional and it manages to go through around 3 mags of BBS on one fill, even in the colder months. I have always been astonished by how efficient it is. Unless mentioned this comes with no further attachments, it will also come with the stock SIG pistol grip, but the Hogue can be thrown in for the right offer. £600 collected from West Sussex£600

Precocking
Rogerborg reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
You will notice the difference! You don't need a posh etu; a Perun AB++ provides precocking and only requires rewiring although, assuming it is a V2 gearbox, if you are going to open up the gearbox to do that, you may as well fit an etu.1 point -
There is also more stress on the parts with pre-cocking, so you'll likely need to do maintenance and potentially replace parts more often. It's not a massive thing and it's not like your gears and piston will be exploding every other game, but over time there will be increased wear on the gearbox parts.1 point

Precocking
Rogerborg reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
^ This There's really one downside to precocking, which is making the motor cold start with almost maximum load on it, which a weaker motor may not be able to do. But if you care enough to be messing around with precocking then you either have, or dont mind getting a decent motor. The other issue is leaving a gun in a precocked state might depending on the quality of the mainspring see a drop in energy during storage, although there are some methods around this: 1. Some guns have a de-cocking mechanism, although they're more the exception rather than the norm 2. Some mosfets have a de-cocking feature (eg hold trigger in semi for a few seconds and it'll cycle to remove the precock) 3. Other guns you *can* manually push the piston rearwards with a flat-ended tool through the nozzle to de-cock it. 4. Some gearboxes have a slot that enables you to manually disengage the anti reversal latch Otherwise it's all the "trigger response" from a higher speed build, without the downsides of said higher speed build. You can get snappy guns without it, thats what all the short stroking/high speed gears/speediboi motors/chunky batteries etc are aimed at, but its so much easier to slap a precocking mosfet on a more moderate build and enjoy your gun not eating itself every other game.1 point -

Huh, that's a new one on me. What's the offence? Selling. There's no offence (or defence needed) for buying, if you're over 18. OP, you're right to be cautious, but just drop round your neighbours' first and let them all know. Use tabloid-level concepts that they'll understand: "like paintball without the paint", and "toy gun" rather than "RIF". Heck, tell them that you've got a loicence for it.1 point

I got a dodgy mk23 barrel (right hooking shots) off them once. I ended up having to ring them. Spoke to me like I was the issue. You literally can't put a mk23 barrel in wrong an shot straight again when returning to the original barrel which I did a couple of times to be sure. Had to push a little to return, and have the post plus the post it cost me to return as I wasn't gonna be £5 out of pocket for them sending me a flawed barrel. Even then had to poke them for my refund after they had received it. It wasn't great but I got my money back eventually.1 point
