    Is it time?

I think the time has come to hang up my hat. My last game was supposed to be a test, to see if I enjoyed playing any more, as I've been moving more toward real firearms recently. Something of a mixed result came of it! The little I played, I enjoyed. But truth be told, I'm old, fat and knackered and in my current state, as demonstrated by my accident, I'm a bit of a fucking liability. If I'd been fitter, not sure I would have fallen. But who knows? I'm going to stick around, as I like the banter, and you never know, there may be that one gun that comes up that persuades me that I really need to shoot someone with it! My enormous thanks to everyone who has helped, advised and taken the piss over the last few years. Particular thanks to @rocketdogbert, without whom I would undoubtedly have not bought as many guns 😄 The only thing for me to do is pull my finger out and stick everything that's left up for sale. But fuck me, what a ball ache! I frigging hate selling stuff. That's possibly why I've not admitted defeat before - can't face the bear pit of the classifieds. SoS p.s. my son's chosen a username for himself and I can't stop laughing.... He's Sonofsonofsammo 🤣

I am properly sorry to hear that. I sort-of know-them feels after I gave up swords-and-axes historic reenactment a decade or so ago, before I got injured doing it - and I've still got a loft full of steel, wood and wool that I've been unable to bear to part with. 🙄 Now I'm onto airsoft, and then there will be something after that. So I'm sure you'll find something rewarding too. Fishing, extreme ironing, whatever floats your boat. Best of luck with the sales, I'm sure plenty of us will be watching like hawks feathered avians.

As someone who stopped playing in 2010 and is trying to get back into it... Don't sell everything! I thought I was done with it but I caught the bug again tail end of last year. Regret selling everything. But wish you all the best regardless!

Nope . It's standard, except for a shortened 12" barrel. I'm near Selby in N.Yorks.

  8. Uncle Bob was at the opticians. 'I got some semen in one of my pupils last week, will it cause me any harm?' Rather shocked the optician stammers out, 'Oh no, I'm sure that you'll be fine. ' 'Thank fuck for that,' says Bob, 'her parents were going to go to the school and the police. '

  9. Cheers for the warm welcome guys. Much appreciated. Have landed a cheap and cheerful mp7 (R4?) by accident, that needs new batteries so job 1 will be looking at the utterly massive world of what will fit and what not to get. 😁 I'm an engineer so taking things to bits is the easy bit. 🤣 The amount of firing my boy was doing at our first skirmish I think I'm going to need to strip a tesla. 😁 @gamble just subbed. That chair looks comfy 😊

Being currently knackered myself through health issues I can totally see the reasoning behind your sad decision , but as long as your still loitering around the sport chucking out the odd insult and comment life’s still good’ish ? 👍

Very nice, I looked at a couple of models at the weekend. I think however I will go for the stribog 12” because much as I love the looks of the vector the controls are just too different compared to my tippman. I see what you mean about Selby and a lack of competitions, you always have Carlisle and northants on the NRA/ukpsa circuit. And yeaveley is worth a visit for speed steels

    MP5K Low Power

Oh, now that I think about it, I hit a problem with the aftermarket barrel and Maple Leaf hop rubber not going deep enough into the hop unit. It was a real struggle to get it in deep enough to get the C-clip on, and the barrel was straining to escape. Eventually I ran a drill bit into the hop unit from the front and (by hand and very carefully) relieved it by half a mm or so. That made all the difference, and now it's sealed like a champ.

    MP5K Low Power

If compression parts seal well then your problem might lie in the nozzle/hop rubber seal. As others have said, check your nozzle, if it's shorter than the stock or if it's overall shorter: make sure it's fully extended into the hop rubber, grab a torch and shine it down the muzzle. If you see light coming from the hop rubber lips, it's too short. Also please don't use metal nozzles. Actually don't use metal compression parts at all!

    MP5K Low Power

Including the nozzle? Did you measure it up against the stock one? I ask because the hop units are rather fussy, and as we know a fraction of a mm is all it takes. For reference I'm seeing a full 0.95J ("320fps") out of my Galaxy MP5K with (I think) a 6.01mm barrel, M100 spring, and either the stock cylinder or a 3/4, I don't recall offhand, but not a full one either way. Stock piston and nozzle. Absolutely stock with the sloppybore barrel and whatever spring it came with it wasn't far off that at 0.9J / ~310fps or so. There's no particular reason it should be as low as yours other than air seal.

    THE TM MWS thread

Jeez i dont know if you being antagonistic, im tyring to help and educate, there was no caveat, i had outlined in the paragraph prior: THIS CLEARLY HASNT HAPPENED - your bolt has not moved back for whatever reason, so the nozzle has been blown up - magazines are not made of nozzle plastic becasue they are not intended to store the full pressure of the gas, just transport it. You didnt get that so i spelled it out: The standard parts handle it fine - when everything works properly 🙈 There are many scenarios for a mag to gas dump and how the other gun internals are located at the time dictates the level of damage, from zero-to-proper fecked. By the by - If your gun is standard and functioning properly the stock nozzle is perfectly fine, just like 10,000s of other MWS users around the world. 👍

  19. From what I've been hearing back from people who have personally imported their RIFs into the UK (or in a shipping container), generally it's a trouble free experience. Generally the issue is only when it's sent as a parcel.

If the charging handle causes the BCG to bind what i described above will happen. The nozzle looks to have sheared around the larger diameter portion of the nozzle (behind the rocket valve) Regardless trying to hypothesize something that happened in a nano second is a waste of time really. Put the gun COMPLETELY back to stock, fit a complete new TM or GM nozzle. Check everything moves and functions independently as it should. Half fill a mag with weak sauce gas and test it.

    THE TM MWS thread

Looking at your breakage, it is right behind the rocket valve, this is significant, it means a shot was was fired, the rocket valve closed on BB exiting the barrel, next the bolt SHOULD travel back and turn off/reset the valve knocker turning off the gas supply, THIS CLEARLY HASNT HAPPENED - your bolt has not moved back for whatever reason, so the nozzle has been blown up - magazines are not made of nozzle plastic becasue they are not intended to store the full pressure of the gas, just transport it. I would wager the problem is in your BCG/upper recevier somewhere. PS IMHO the only decent upgrade nozzle is the Guns Modify grey. But really the standard nozzle (and all internals) are capable of withstanding all airsoft gas types provided you have the correct buffer spring and a HSB installe dto handle the cycle speeds. You know in films you always see guy repeatidly racking and working the action dry, same thing with a GBB, everything has to move fluidly otherwise you just have a gas bomb

  22. Not all hope is lost. Mailed Warhead and they told me they can repair/replace the ESC. I was thinking, since the short motor is going to permanently live in my AK, and since the only other modification I might make to it is HPA and I don't see myself going HPA anytime soon (too many logistical bollocks to sort), I am considering getting the motor tabs swapped out for wires, so I can have the actual connectors sitting halfway through the motor cage (will have to check if the pistol grip can handle the extra bulk), thus greatly reduce the chances of me snapping something. Shit quality graph below. I'm also considering doing something similar on the M4 though the motor placement makes it a thunderbitch to properly design. I can modify both the Titan and Perun Hybrid wirings to have interchangeable "motor ends" and have dedicated ends depending on what motor I want to fit. Not that I'll be constantly swapping them every other day, that is. What do you guys think?

  24. Mags push up against the BCG, the BCG in turn pushes the charging handle up into the recevier. Ive said it time and time again, if you have any problem revert to stock and start again. You cant upgrade something if it doesnt work in standard form.

Didn’t you swap out the charging handle? Could be worth putting the original back in… Might be be a fitment issue though not sure why it would only affect 2/4 mags.

  26. I used to live in Israel and saw them being carried by civil defence quite a lot. I'll probably get one but I don't like the coating. I prefer unadulterated metal finish. I foresee a bit of right arm exercise in my future...

  28. Here ready for a run out this weekend, the Angry Gun suppressor for my TM MP7 GBB. This is the dummy version without the tracer unit (I don't plsy CQB or night time so don't see the point) and it seems pretty good. It does have the well known barrel wobb;e, but this isn't as bad as I was anticipating, and a bit of black maskers will fix that anyway. Usual great service from Fire Support.

  29. In all seriousness (well as much as you can have when talking about airsoft). In a world where everyone is shouting about their differences, I often talk to people I wouldn't normally, because the thing we have in common is at the forefront.

  30. Oh, they do look fun, especially for CQB or as a sniper secondary. As a woodland primary they might struggle. The internals are based on electric pistols, and there's a very small cylinder volume to work with. You can put in stronger springs (see Eagle6.co.uk TM AEP springs) but they're always going to be limited in muzzle energy. As stock, they come with a specific nimh battery that I believe is very slightly different from the similar-but-not-identical battery used by most AEP (auto-electric-pistols). Probably the best thing you can do for it is to bin that off and replace the standard push-in battery connector with a Deans, Mini-Deans or even a JST plug, and use a small 7.4v lipo battery, whatever will fit in the battery compartment. Even with a tiny 300mAh / 35C/70C (i.e. 10.5A - 21A) lipo, I got much better trigger response from my CYMA AEP.

  35. With a finger over the barrel the piston doesn't move untill you take your finger off. There's a slight jolt forward but is minimal. No sounds of creeping. Then a thud when the finger is removed.

  36. I was quite surprised at having access to the sales section straight away tbh. The Airgun BBS has a 5 post minimum before access is granted manually and even this low bar gets rid of the vast majority of chancers.

  37. Yes, the "iMax B6" is an (old) model of SkyRC charger. There are loads of knock offs around, and videos showing how to tell the difference. A genuine one should have a hologram sticker underneath it with a code that you can check. That said, if in doubt, just buy an S65, it's much newer technology in a more compact package.

  39. Age is no limitation I’ve found it’s just a level of fitness. If you can walk or trot or gallop carrying a 3 kg weight for a few hrs you’ll be super fine. We have plenty of players at my site who are in their 50’s some even in the 60’s and most carry normal AEG’s. You don’t have to take up a DMR. Just get stuck in and you’ll soon see what game style suits you.

  40. Hi Matt, In the exact same position as you. Mid 30's now, not been involved in the sport for 20 years or so. Heading back into it as a newbie. I'm busy exploring sites at the moment (was incredibly niche back when i used to play, before the paintball areas opened their doors to airsoft). Im flying solo, based in Worthing. If you fancy a link up one day, drop me a PM and il tag along. Leek
