The 'What have you just bought' Thread
clumpyedge and 2 others reacted to TheFull9 for a topic
Obviously the tigerstripe fashion was last year so I'm late to the game but it'll be ok. Did get asked to censor 1 thing by a company (for now) so apologies for the black blob haha. Best thing I did was replace my really old pre-licensed VFC 'Stark' G17s with a TM Gen 4, bone stock, it feels toyish as hell by comparison but man it runs like a german train and shoots the lights out. I started with TM pistols when I first got in to the game, stayed from the path some years ago with some VFCs (when they were truly mediocre at best) and going back feels gooood.3 points -

Back in the Game....
GAMBLE reacted to SammieSurrey for a topic
Hey folks. I’m Sammie from Surrey (hence the clever name) and I’m new here. Well, sort of... I first got the Airsoft bug when I was a kid. I dunno what it was but, I’m pretty sure I love the exercise, the adrenaline and the whole atmosphere of a full on day of kicking butt and taking names. (or maybe I just liked getting muddy at Ambush Chobham... who knows) I’d played since being at school, getting more and more into it as I hit my twenties. I loved those days of playing every weekend, rain, sun, sleet or snow. Sadly though, as with many things, I had to duck out. It’s been a long time since I had a chance to get out and enjoy a proper days skirmish or mil-sim. Between becoming a mum & some big changes in my life, building my own business and starting a non-profit support organisation, I was left with so little time to get out and enjoy it. Now I’ve got everything under control again (honest) I really want to get back out and enjoying the sport I love. Problem is, the landscape seems to have changed a lot since I was last involved. The sites I grew up with seem to have gone and I don’t know anyone in the community anymore. So, I’m back here and looking for a fresh start (with a bit of experience behind me this time round) to try and get back in the game. It would be nice to reconnect with the community and find a few local places to get back to playing. Also, any excuse to buy new kit never goes amiss eh... Anyway, that’s me. Excited to be back. Hope to see some of you as soon as this whole Covid thing has settled Sammie x1 point -
Hi all I've just recently got into airsoft, mainly by chance.... I used to have a couple of BB guns as a kid before airsoft became massive. Over the years I collected a few blank firers and PFC model guns. More of a collector than anything else. Recently a friend of a friend was moving to Australia and I inherited a couple of his airsoft collection which he couldn't sell before his departure (kind of looking after them for him). He knew I had an interest in them. Due to the current situation, I've not been able to go skirmishing but a bit of info from experienced airsofters would be appreciated. I thought about modifying the look while I'm sat at home. Currently I have a Lonex M4 AEG and a WA para ordinance 1911 (GBB) The M4 has no charging handle but looks as though it should? And I'm thinking of replacing the slide on the 1911 for metal. It feels and sounds a bit cheap and flimsy Thanks in advance! Happy to upload some pics1 point

I never ditched the kit. Bits of it disappeared over the years but, I couldn’t bring myself to part with it. I know it’s not Airsoft but, I got a Umarex .177 CO2 MP5k PDW for Christmas and have a BSA Ultra SE .22 that have kept me on target as it were. (For some reason, I got some chakra cleansing singing bowls too. I think someone was trying to tell me something 🤣) Truth is, loads of the old stuff will be knackered from being out of use but, I know my way around an AEG so, a bit of silicon and some new LiPo’s and I’ll be laughing (yeah right🤦♀️)1 point -

Thanks @GAMBLE You’re totally right. You never forget how to make things happen. Heck, if I’m home alone, I still remember to check my corners 🤣 I’ve kept my hand in (or finger on the trigger I guess) through .22 target shooting, some garden plinking and so much CoD it’s left me hungry for the hunt. Hopefully this summer will give us all a chance to get out there and kick some butt1 point -

Hey Sammie! Welcome back to the madness! I've only just got into airsoft too, but first time round for me lol... bought my first gun just over a year ago and now have a small arsenal 🤣. Just been out at a local site down here in Devon over the last year, but hopefully Boris will tell us we can "go out to play" again soon, and quite fancy trying to get to a few different sites around the country... do a little "Airsoft Tour" of the UK! As for excuses to buy guns and stuff, obviously I wouldn't encourage that kinda behaviour (😉🤣), but if the urge grabs ya and you "need" a gun or some kit, my little arsenal is in need of new homes! Gonna try and learn to do all the techy stuff and build my very first gun, but apparently you need this thing called "money", hence having to clear my current stuff (well....not all of it but a considerable portion!). Good luck with everything! Shak1 point -

With eBay auctions it would mean copying every listing whenever you want to sell something, only ‘buy nows’ would last any time as a valid link whilst unsold As a matter of a seller opting to list on eBay and refer to it on here rather than classifieds the seller would be losing 10% in fess on an eBay sale rather than a fee-less classifieds sale (There are occasionaly fee-less direct links that eBay gives for people to share links) If you highlighted your eBay sale then generated a forum sale you could avoid fees by canceling on eBay, but then you attract attention getting potential strikes against your eBay account Members could post up their seller IDs and then people could look at what they are currently listing - I buy & sell random things, but as I’m not going to auctions at the moment I don’t think too many members would be interested in my suit and corset If there’s a majorly exciting find that someone spots (but don’t fancy for themselves) they can post about it somewhere appropriate1 point

There are a few threads on the general subject. New regulations are in place since January for international imports. Not just connected to Brexit and Covid disruption Any foreign seller exporting to the UK needs to register with HMRC and handle UK VAT on sales up to £135 Sales above that will be handled at customs as was normal for non EU A seller will have to deal with an admin headache if they export to the UK from now on Currently they could have to deal with grumpy customers for delayed packages They may or may not want to deal with the UK in the future Its up to you whether to wait and see, or start contacting UK retailers and see if they have what you want or will start bringing the items in via their wholesalers Buy Blitish1 point

Hi and Welcome There's plenty of information on this forum so best thing to do first is reading the sticky threads. Its great you have some toys ready to start playing when its allowed. I imagine you should be able to find a replacement charging handle if its missing but it won't affect the performance. Changing to a metal slide may cause problems with the pistol cycling. Someone here will probably be able to give more info for you.1 point

Oh I appreciate his skill for sure. But physics come into play, the energy is fixed owing to the FPS and BB weight, of which such an object can only fly so far with said energy. Without sending the BB via the moon 70M is pushing it for 330 FPS. Just keeping a lid on expectations and mis-information. All the best and good luck with the sale, genuinely an awesome RIF for anyone wanting a quiver killer rifle, good price too.1 point -

The Billet (Ambush Adventures run by Charlie James - nice little CQB site made up of joined up barracks (hence the name the billet) and was superbly run, even with Charlies safety briefs) The Depot (Ambush Adventures run by Charlie James - was just an amazing site and had plenty of space so people didn't bunch up on stairwells) The Sandpit (UCAP, was the best site down south non-MOD Stirling did a few games there with ribs for insertions across the lake)1 point

Forum Rules
Callsign Warden reacted to Deva for a topic
Anyone not cohering with these rules will face a suspension, ban or deletion of their account, this includes all posts and topics. The Guidelines • Search There is a search feature on this forum that will help you to find information that may have already been posted up. Often people experience very similar problems so the chances are that your question has already been answered is highly likely. Regulars to the forums will usually be aware if your question has already been answered several times before, so some may become annoyed you didn't use the search feature. There is a three character minimum length for searching, i.e. MP5, hpa, fps. Try using different search terms to get more results. • Giving advice Give solid advice only if you are sure what you are talking about. Don't mislead people as at best you are risking their money, and at worst, you are risking their safety. It's much better to say your only guessing and let others add to your answer than to lead the person into doing something wrong, and coming back and pointing the finger at you. • Post in the appropriate sub-forums If you want to chat about the latest Airsoft releases, do it in "Latest News". If you are new to the forums and want to ask a question, it might be best in the "Advice & Technical Help" forum. If you want to sell something, the "Classifieds" forums are the place to announce it. Basically, have a look at all the categories and post where you think your topic will be best suited. • Use descriptive titles for new topics Posting a topic with the title "Look here!", or "Please help", will not attract the attention of the users. If you use titles like "JG G36C gearbox problem", or "New gun from ICS!", more people will view your post and will know what they are about look at. Do not post titles in ALL CAPS, do not post misleading titles ("clickbait"). • Use good English and check your spelling! "1337-Speak" should also not be used on these boards. Nor should "text speak", use your word processing software to check for basic spelling and grammar errors, we aren't looking for the best English, but it is a lot easier to read a checked post, than another like, "hi, wel i av a prob wiv me gun u c nd i dnt no wot 2 do". Adding punctuation, full stops and commas make it easier to read. • Use Personal Mail (PM) Instead of posting in a Sales / Swaps topic which will cause it to 'bump' that topic just use your PM to communicate asking and answering questions. Sellers should be aware that any post, for whatever reason (especially answering questions or making a comment), that are before the 7 days is considered a bump. If you cannot receive PM then try deleting some old ones to free up space. • Caps lock Do not post in all Caps lock as it looks like you are shouting at somebody and is also very annoying to read. Topic and advert titles are to be in normal sentence case, not in all CAPITALS. • Don't post duplicate topics Multiple topics started about the same thing may be deleted, merged or moved at the moderators' or my discretion. If you intend on using the Classifieds forum you must read and follow the rules • Use "Smileys" effectively "Smileys" can be used in your forum posts. If you are joking about something, use them to help indicate that your statement was made humorously. They can be used to indicate your mood and show that something was not meant to be taken seriously. If you don't use them, people will assume you are being serious. Arguments have broken out before because of a misunderstood joke. • No Arguing Don't argue, if you feel offended by the comments of another user or believe a post is offensive, report it to the moderators, and they or I will be deal with it. Starting a fight may result in sanctions for all those involved. Our first decision is our final one! • Be nice to other forum users Treat others as you would like to be treated to yourself. There is absolutely no need to be abusive on these forums. If you are then your posts / topics will be edited or deleted, you may be given a warning, you may get your account suspended, and persistent offenders will be banned. • Post Spam Don't post just to raise your post count, there is no bonus in it, and moderators will become frustrated with the spam. Continued post spamming will result in a suitable sanction. • Be Constructive If you don't have something constructive to add to a thread then don't post at all. This applies especially in the "Classifieds" section, if you have something to say, PM it to the seller. Comments like "good luck with the sale" or "nice gun" are also not appreciated. Repeatedly ignoring these guidelines when you post, may lead to your posts or account being moderated/edited. If you intend on using the Classifieds forum you must read and follow the rules Forum Rules The following are rules that must be adhered to. Failure to follow these rules will attract the attention of the forum moderators. All moderators are friendly people and follow the rules laid out to them, they are there to enforce the forums rules, if you have a problem with a particular moderator please PM me "proffrink" personally. • Thread bashing/trolling There will be some posts or threads in the forum that you may not like. If you dislike somebody's thread or some of the people participating in the discussion simply don't bother reading or replying to it. Posting/trolling in it with the sole purpose of having it closed (bashing) will not be tolerated. • Off topic Try to stay close to the original topic of a certain thread as much as you can. If you wish to talk about something else make a new topic, do not use an existing one. Remember to use the search function as there may already be a topic for what you wish to talk about. • Spam Adding posts that contribute nothing to the conversation (spam) will be deleted or merged with a previous post. Do not "bump" your threads by posting irrelevant information or just "bump". It is spam and will be deleted. Continuous spamming will result in warning points being added to your account, a suspension, or a ban from the forums. • Advertising No one is to use their account to place advertisements in their signature, avatar or any posts. Anyone caught will have their account, including all posts and topics deleted. They may also be banned by IP depending on the seriousness of the offence. Retailers / shops are not to place any adverts in the Classifieds. A shop can create one topic in the Places to Buy section, using the shop name as a title, with a link to your website. • Duplicate Accounts Each user is only allowed one account. Duplicate accounts take up valuable system resources and annoy other forum users. It is very easy to spot duplicate accounts created or used by the same person, and any duplicate accounts found will be removed. Breaking the following rules will result in an immediate IP ban, deletion of account and removal of all posts and topics. • Absolutely NO References glorifying or inciting drug-misuse References glorifying or inciting criminal behaviour or violence Images or videos of graphic violence Images or videos of an adult or graphically sexual nature Images or videos that show drug misuse • Racial, Sexual and Religious Equality This site makes no discrimination between people of different race, gender or religion. Airsoft is a sport for all, and these forums reflect that. We welcome everyone except those who demonstrate intolerance toward others. • Illegal/Banned Subjects You cannot discuss anything that will help someone break the law in his or her locale. This means talking about: How to evade paying tax on imported goods How to make a semi-automatic replica shoot fully-automatic in a country that does not allow this feature How to make your own or modify pyrotechnics How to get restricted items past customs How to get restricted items if you are under-age Any other illegal activities If you intend on using the Classifieds forum you must read the and follow the rules The link is very accessible from within the Classifieds forum if you wish to read the rules at a later date. Thank you for reading!1 point
