Over the weekend I helped out with building (Translation: Holding bits of wood while someone drilled them) and clearing (Heaving bits of metal and wood out of the way) and Played on the Sunday. Here's the scoop: Once you're inside it feels much much bigger than you'd think from the floorplan. The upstairs shop floor has been made with a cool killhouse-style cqb feel. Escalator in the middle of the floor makes for a good point to sway the tide of a fight. With cool corridors running around the outside going into seperate rooms to flank. Downstairs is a bit more open, but with good cover to dash between. There's little rat-runs and nooks to hide in / use to flank. There's a good amount of what were once changing rooms to hide and get the drop on people. There's two main stairwells linking both floors, the main stairs by the site entrance are nice and wide and well lit, and then a 2nd stairwell is a lot darker and sneaky, which leads into a big dark room before you enter the downstairs shop floor. There's no grenades allowed at the moment. They've been told by the owners they're allowed, but they're choosing to wait for the neighbours to get used to them first after advise from Thames Valley Police. The stairwells make for some difficult choke points, but this was going to be the case on the first day - the team were great at responding to criticism on the day and moved barricades and objects between (and even during!) games to help the flow and avoid doorways etc being completely choked off. I'm quite proud to announce that I was the first ever death at the new site. I was the sole attacker against everyone else in the maiden game (when you're hit you join the attackers). This game was a struggle to get a kill with only my USP on me! Definitely taking an SMG next time! Overall it was great, it felt like being back on familiar soil. A return to form etc. It even smells like The Mall! That damp, cold concrete and dust scent! I'll upload photos in a second.8 points

Photos of upstairs: Then we come downstairs (these stairs are used in game but also serve as the entrance/exit to the site): I don't want to post too many photos and ruin the fun and surprise of finding the hiding spots in person. But it's good. It's The Mall we know and love condensed into one third of the size. Now.. let's just hope that no one there had Covid-19 🥺3 points -

I find it's easiest to just mention it to the marshalls. Don't approach them all fire and brimstone, screaming about how the bad man isn't taking his hits. Just let a marshall know and say "I'm not sure, but could you keep an eye on [insert description of potential cheater here], as I think they may not be taking hits." But if I think someone isn't taking their hits, I'll always mention it to staff and then leave it to them to enforce. I don't see the negative stigma of it, unless it's every game day, but if that's the case it's probably the shooter not hitting their target; I've seen so many airsofters have a moan about hit taking, but their BBs are falling short because their gun fires to 60 airsoft metres, but only 40 actual metres.2 points

Don’t wanna name, but it’s in the SW. I’ve since been told by other folks that these few players have put others off going back in the past. In fairness to the site I’ve been there a few times and every other time I’ve been there the marshalling and players were excellent. I’ll chalk it down to an off day for now.1 point

We are not members of a cartel or the mob (unless the game calls for it)' The game we play is honour based, calling out cheaters dishiuner shouldn't come with the stigmer it seems to. Too often I also use fun switch first, then get a marshal have a word with me for mag dumping!.... If only there was a point in time players were told how it all works.....1 point -

Always saddening when folk cant get their heads around the most simple and basic rule of the game.....1 point -
How did my day go? Well I think I've come the closest ever at a skirmish to hitting someone. 3 guys in a tower, shot repeatedly at about 10-15 meters range on full auto, not acknowledging their hits. Even arguing with the marshall when he was telling them he saw them get hit. Finally they gave up (ran out of ammo I believe), after I'd guess 20 mins of just being shot at. Left the tower, and said to the 10+ guys who'd been shooting them "unlucky guys". How they didn't get chinned I've no idea. Ran into the same guys constantly throughout the day, who refused to take hits at various times. Saw lots of my team leave at lunch time due to the cheating, made the games after lunch even more difficult. On the plus side, I tried out a new leaf suit ghillie which worked really well, and when i wasn't encountering the pack of cheaters had a good time.1 point

Just went back and checked. On an 11.1vyou can use a 22tpa motor and 18:1 gears for a safe rof. He had to replace the gears for SHS 18:1s though as the stock gears were crap.1 point -

I wasted about a mag(hi cap) on a "teflon terrorist"(rental) yesterday.I took out everyone around him,he flinched when I suprised him from behind at distance,he then moved tyres to hide behind and guess what...he was one of the last ones in.It was a warning of things to come as he was involved in near fisticuffs at the end of the day..closest I've seen to phsyical contact,I advised the marshall to step in,it's not needed at any site.0 points
