  5. It's all about context. If one gay man says "you're so damn gay" to his friend it probably isn't an insult but if someone else shouts it at the same person with intent then yes it probably is an insult. In the same way that the Royal Philharmonic playing Ace of Spades isn't heavy metal but Motorhead playing Beethoven's 5th definitely is.

    It's me!

Hi guys, I'm Alex from Hastings and I'm all rather new to this airsoft stuff. I've spent a lot of time in the past with paintball and for the past 6 years have been involved in reenactment but now some good friends of mind have convinced me to join in with the world of airsoft. I've got my first event scheduled for mid August which I am really looking forward to and will be researching and trying to get as ready as I can. Look forward to joining in wih the community and hopefully meeting some of you at local events etc. Alex

^ this, 4 extra mags and the charger a definite plus, although kudos to you if you manage to use more than a couple hicaps in one game

  16. I have a background in playing semi pro tournament paintball and am looking for something different but along the same lines and also want a more tactical game I don't know where to start I want to get a kit together and don't know what to go for GAS/SPRUNG/ELECTRIC BUT WAS THINKING GAS I want a good gun that' I won't get laughed at with but don't want to pay a fortune but needs to be something highly accurate and reliable as I'm used to having decent equipment from when we were sponsored Any ideas would be helpful also on gear to wear too I'm not sure which makes are good stuff and which are bollocks lol don't want to spend loads only to find out I've got the gola of the air soft world Many thanks in advance Paul Ps I'm up in Cumbria

  17. G36c's are fairly popular as well, just make sure you research into the specific model you're gonna buy, look for reviews, compare with similar ones etc, mostly common sense.

    Face protection.

Ive been searching for military style lower masks as a lot of the masks on the airsoft market dont look very mil. I have quite a collection of different solutions and one of my favourites is a quad bike dust mask. Its hard to visualise the end product of your project but it looks like its going the right way. If the material is a permanent fixture, it might be a bit hot in the warmer weather. Suggest you check to make sure your exhaling breath doesnt fog your ballistics. I presume your use of perforated foam is designed to stop that ?

  23. That helps cheers mate not used to all the terminology though lol Don't want to go Bobby basic and was used to maintaining my gas powered paintball marker stripping down etc would go second hand and was thinking g36c m4 or svp to be honest will have 500 as a start but have no combat gear at all so not sure what to do can get more than that but that is what I have physically right now Can you recommend any decent makes of combat gear or any trusted seller selling second hand guns as I don't know who to trust yet

  26. Welcome to the forum mate, just depends what exactly you mean by a fortune. I know paintball markers are pretty expensive as well but not sure what kind of budget you'll be looking at. Also are there are particular guns you like the look of? I wanna point out gas isn't the best thing to go for if you are just starting - usually because of people's inexperience and not having the commitment to maintain em all the time, but also cos they are so expensive. From what I know WE are quite a 'go-to' brand for GBBRs as they're probably the most inexpensive, and they do M4s / SCARs / L85A2 etc. PTS just came out with a Magpul Masada for £360 IIRC. Honestly you're looking at least 250 that's basically the cheapest you're gonna get a gas rifle. You might wanna consider a Tippmann M4 as they can be run on HPA like a paintball gun, potentially you could use some of your existing pball gear for that rather than spending £50+ on a new one. They're 400 quid...but it's cheap compared to SMP / P* setups which are drop in replacements for the standard gearbox in an AEG yet cost about as much as the Tippmann alone just for the fusion engine unit. In all I'd say start off with a JG G36 / G&G Combat Machine M4 / CYMA AK (the top three recommended beginner electric guns) to get a feel for it and so you're able to play with your own gun. Then you could move up to something better or upgrade it. Alternatively, go and hire for a few games, you're not gonna have spent a load on your own gun only to find out you don't enjoy it. Spring are worthless (only for backyard plinking) unless you mean sniper rifles, but even they aren't worth the money (you need to spend a lot on upgrades to make them really good, otherwise performance is as same as an AEG but you're limited by mag capacity and rate of fire etc) Hope this helps

  27. As long as its gas powered, it'll be stupid fun to shoot... Once you turn to the dark side there's no going back...

  34. As has already been said in this thread: UTG is a rebrand of Well which is, in turn, a clone of the Maruzen L96 (generally the APS-2), not the TM L96 AWS (which has the realistic magazine placement). Why on earth anyone would go as far afield as the US to buy probably the most reproduced airsoft gun ever made (other than perhaps the TM M3 and its clones) is beyond me. Grab a Well L96, or a Mauser/Cybergun. Frankly, they all shoot the same really. Buy a new cylinder, trigger, spring and guide rod from http://www.airsoftpro.cz/ before you think about taking it out. Oh and the obligatory 'don't buy a sniper rifle' is very much true - it's a really silly weapon to take to skirmishes. Even the one I've put a lot of money into isn't anywhere near my favorite thing to use.

  39. Had a UTG L96 about 8 years ago, shot well enough and not far off 500fps, its just the usual chinese clone available under various identities. UTG do a fair range of accessories like scopes, rail covers etc which can be bought from Soldier of Fortune among others.

  40. very strange video "lets take it to the range and see how it shoots" .... he chrono's it .... no range/accuracy/spread details. you may consider me a purest, but i have never heard of UTG, i would go with tokyo maurai (and i have with my TM L96) if you really want a sniper rifle, go and have a look here for gun info >> http://www.airsoftsniperparts.com/identifyyourrifle.htm

  44. I might not show it but everytime someone on my team screams "call your hits" I am wishing the marshals scoop them up and ban them. I was fighting next to one of these tits for a bit on Sunday and after he started calling that I just backed off and found somewhere else to fight the enemy. My tolerance for that sort of behaviour is really wearing thin.

  47. A good place to start is by popping into the shop at Trojan Airsoft in stockport. The guys there are pretty knowledgable and they have a great selection of every style of gun across all ranges on the wall. Alternatively jump over the pennines to Patrol Base, in Huddersfield. The best way to make any gun more effective is to make yourself more effective, the best way to get better is to put boots on the ground and play more and play better. It is that simple. Tighter barrels, stronger motors, cnc gears, mosfets, short stroking, 349fps and high voltage batteries ect , won't make you any better on the field. The only exception being good quality, weighty BBs.
    1 point
  48. With that budget you can buy pretty much any AEG on the market. I quite like the look of the new Krytac SPR. The PTS RM4 is quite a cool gun aswell. If i was getting a new gun it would be one of those 2 i think,
