  2. The SMR rail isn’t designed for MLOK, the rails not off spec or anything ? https://thereptilehouseblog.com/2014/07/06/seraph-green-direct-mount/ This might be useful for you.

  4. How deep is the pond? The emergency water supply pond at work has fish in it and despite regularly seeing a heron in the area it hasn't taken any of the fish in it (to my knowledge) as it's too deep Try a Quetzalcoatlus?

  9. On a serious note as anyone with forces experience or playing on MOD sites can tell you there is no pain (including childbirth) that can compete with kneeling on discard GPMG link. That shit makes kneeling or standing on lego seem like a happy memory.

  10. The MC51 was the G3 version I wanted, but I have to say the long battle rifle thang feels GOOOOD Totally impractical, but good ?

  11. I have the JG G3 mc51 ( I think) it's not full size but so far hasn't let me down. Other than my own stupidity (shim holding off the CUL ??) it's been great. I've added a longer outer barrel from a ps90 to make it bigger.

  13. That's the one I've got (well, had). Apart from the improved trigger response and rof switching to lipos means I can stop using the cheap crappy charger that came with the gun

That's why I've gone with an SEF lower on all mine. The right side of the ambi selector always digs into my trigger finger.

Filing the grub screw down doesn't need any disassembly other than that shaft. My grub screw was rubbing plastic from the handgrip plastic. You do need to take the plastic grip off to do the rest. Gearbox is untouched. The slots can be filled with JB weld etc as the locking tabs are plastic. I haven't done it yet tho. I'll take the part down to metal and put tape on it to make a mould to put the epoxy in. I have a full stock which I might use instead since the collapsible stock has limited utility.

  16. Generally herons can't hunt in water deeper than 60cm and the raised edge makes it harder for them. As it hasn't been back then I'd guess it decided there's easier pickings somewhere else

  17. Magstop is via the trigger board, the ETU just replaces the plug in bit external to the gearbox.

  18. about 1.5m at it's deepest, 50cm at it's shallowest & 4m x 2m, I promise my 'range' has been weeded since this pic was taken, unfortunately the lilac tree was blown down recently.

  19. I have hacked up an ETU++ in the past to work in a P90 with a warhead brushless and it works fine (this was before they released the P90 optical mosfet) The only thing I am not sure about is if the Perun ETU still allows you to use the mag cut-off feature? I haven't installed one in a replica that has a mag stop so have no idea how the mag stop functions and whether it is a mechanism linked to the trigger contacts or a separate switch via the control board, but probably worth checking that it is still supported beforehand if that feature is important to you.

  22. If santa was pushing the boat out it'd be a TM MK18 GBB, although a shotty tracer would be handy having just got a Breacher. But I think he'll be bringing me a shiny new (bigger) stainless fermenter so I can double the size of my beer batches.

First thing was pull the lever out, there's a grub screw on the left to undo and then pull the lever out. There's another grub screw holding the lever to the shaft and this was sticking out too far and interfering with the body. Had to file it flush. It's locktighted in so I couldn't remove it. This helped but I had more. I made the mistake of looking at some of these falling down an internet rabbit hole and ended up hanging my nose over the gun in the title. Of course I then bought one and following are my thoughts on the gun. In case you don't know what it looks like... https://images.app.goo.gl/9mtVnfitABNswYUX6 For me it's a sexy gun, maybe the sexiest. Sexy and heavy. It weighs 3.6kg with mag, battery and sight and more than a little front heavy. It's the Blue version, so inside it should have half decent bits and clearly the air seal is ok, firing at 365 fps on a .2g BB, through its little 220mm barrel. It's happy on a 3S lipo or a 3S life. I swore to myself I would use it before taking it apart, but I didn't. It had a very clunky fire selector which bothered me greatly so I pulled off the sliding stock, which is very nice and sturdy, with a great extending action (only 1 of the 3 extended positions is useful to me, so I will mod those later) Once the body pin was out, I slid out the gearbox out and pondered the fire selector. I am used to a G36, they are V3 gearboxes and this is a V2. I don't recall working on a V2 before so of course I ploughed ahead, pulling the motor out and sliding the plastic bits off after taking the fire selector levers off ( grubscrew on the left, then pull the shaft and right selector lever through the gearbox. There's a "plastic bit" that sits in the plastic lower, through which the selector shaft passes from the right and gets sandwiched by the right selector lever. Anyhoo, the gearbox has a quick change spring, a shiny ribbed cylinder and a plastic nozzle, sans o ring. The casting is textured for some reason, it's not radiused and not shimmed properly. I noted that the plastic fire selector plate was binding leaving safe to semi on the contacts, which stuck up really high, so the copper part of the fire selector plate had a lot of work to do to get past them. I imagine it's meant to electrically disconnect the trigger as well as mechanically lock the trigger on safe, but it doesn't do the electrical isolation. I will probably rewire this given the pointless contacts. The fire selector plate and the aforementioned "plastic bit" ( a sort of cam) work together provide a crude detent, in addition to the detent in the left fire selector lever, when selecting safe, semi and auto. For safe the plastic bit has kind of beak that goes over centre on the bottom of the fire selector plate, on semi there's a nub on the plastic bit that nestles against a raised bit on the fire selector plate and on auto, the aforementioned beak engages the raised bit. To smooth all this out required: Pushing the contacts down ( they may have been incorrectly seated) so the fire selector plate would move more freely Taper the beak of the plastic bit, so it would engage safe with less force and move from safe to semi with less force. Reduce the size of the nub on the plastic bit to engage semi from safe more smoothly. Taper the top side of the beak so it would more easily engage in the auto position. There is still a detent effect putting the fire selector plate in the right place, which now works with the fire selector levers own detect, meaning it all clicks into place now. Much like my G36s. Having, as previously mentioned, sworn to not take this thing apart I now have a list of things to do. Spring change, maybe nozzle change. Shimming and consequently adjusting motor height. Filling in the 2 useless cut outs in the sliding stock so it slides to the right position. Add a MOSFET ( nothing fancy, I have a load of 3034 chips to use) Some of the MOSFETs used in the posh ETUs are really not very good. Altho the Jefftron ones are very nice. Rewire the thing in decent cable (the PVC stuff doesn't like the bends this gun seems to require and it uses lot of it, going to the back of the gun from the gearbox then to the front to the battery) Short out those weird contacts under the selector plate and get the copper off it. That's probably enough for now, please feel free to tell me where I'm going wrong or what else I might do since I am already doing this ^^^ Maybe you've noticed there are not many pics, Some tech issues prevented them appearing here. I'll add them as soon as I can. https://airsoft-forums.uk/topic/57368-cyma-mp5-sd6-thoughts/?do=findComment&comment=493052

You've gone and inspired me to dig mine out ready for some CQB action tonight at Invicta Black Site! I have been thinking of swapping the motor our for a high torque, but after a few dry shots earlier on a 7.4, to be honest I'm happy with its snappiness. Always a pain to rig a light and pressure pad onto it with a classic hand guard though. Good job that cocking handle isn't needed

  31. Thanks, I've seen other koi keepers do the same, my pond is natural so I prefer to use the natural cover, a neighbour has fake owls on their shed & I think they're close enough to deter the herron as it's not been back (to my knowledge). My Dad lives in the middle of nowhere & has had a pond for a over 20 years where several species have raided it of simply fallen in... otters, herron, cats, dogs & donkeys to name a few. Dunno what size bird of prey he'd need to deter a donkey.

  32. This times infinity. While you might save a few quid if they fail you could loose alot more. The same goes for second hand face protection, it may be a reputable brand but you don't know the history of it so could already be damaged even if they appear fine

  33. I've got the TM MP7 with this style of battery & keep getting it mixed up with the one from my MAC10, they're slightly different lengths despite being the same fitting & type. so Measure twice... cut once, the barrel end cap won't fit with the longer one.

  34. My locals seem to be consistent with: Under 18 = full face covered, which can be separate eye and lower face protection, or a single piece full face mask. Under 16 = single piece full face mask only. It's entirely up to your local site(s) and their insurer(s) though. Something I'd flag up is that Amazon and eBay have a plethora of £20-ish full face masks being sold for airsoft use which then fess up in the details that they are not rated for even ~1.1J impacts. I'd stick to actual paintball brand-names like Dye or Valken when buying a mask.

  36. Honestly difference is that we care more if rifs get outlawed/harder or more expensive to obtain than cosplayers. Rifs are just the final 1%of the costume for them but the entire sport for us. So they will do whatever without and consideration of what the outcome could be for everyone else if it goes wrong.

  38. I always have an anchor magnet on 100' of rope in my van. It has saved hours of time and swearing over the years. Dragged across the lad's bedroom floor it found the Glock 18 selector spring in minutes. He'd spent hours looking for the thing before confessing that he'd forgotten to open it up inside a see through plastic bag. Here's similar, think mine may be a bit stronger. 43. Impulse purchase ahoy. Thanks very much Paul @ Action Hobbies for tempting me into yet another toy I don't need! JG G3, set up as DMR, so semi-auto only. I was worried when I found it was all-plastic, but those fears were unfounded tbh, it is very solidly put together. The motor turns over reasonably nicely on the stick 7.4v LiPo that fits easily in the foregrip. It was upgraded at Combat South apparently, and they rewired to Deans already, which saves me some ham-fisted soldering A few test shots down the garden proved it shoots nicely. Chrono'd at 320fps with 0.28g BBs so it's not exactly breathing fire. I guess I won't know how good it'll work on the field for a while now, but I'll be tempted to stick in a weaker spring so I can get rid of the DMR's MED and just play it as a normal gat. The little RIS rail .... hmmm, how am I supposed to fit a scope on there? I guess I need some sort of cantilever mount? I like the HK iron sights, so maybe it'll stay as it is. It feels damned cool though!

  45. I’ve had a pair of Earmor’s now for about two years and they’re superb. I particularly enjoy that when they knock out the bangs it doesn’t cut all the sound so you can still hear what’s going on Sound quality-wise they’re a smidge ‘tinny’, and I’d definitely recommend switching to the silicone ear cups They are very good for directional sound so you can hear where you’re being snuck up from, and battery life is very good too with a new set of AAA’s being needed ever fifteen game days or so

  48. For knackered knees then pads are almost esential. I have a pair that are secured by velcro which are prone to falling down. I secure them in place by wrappinng eletrical tape a few times around the pad and my leg. It looks silly but it keeps them in place.
