  6. Absolutely right. To me, airsoft is about a bunch of (mostly) grown-ups playing dress-up and running around like toddlers on tartrazine, shooting each other and having a bloody good laugh at ourselves. I like seeing new players at site get bitten by the bug, learning off the experienced heads, showing off guns and gear, and generally being huge nerds. I don't see us as any different to model railway enthusiasts, stamp collectors or any other hobby that has a passionate, niche following. Boasting about hurting people, especially "noobs," generating drama where there is none or generally just being an obnoxious tit does nothing to take the hobby forward.

I have a real thing for 7 Eleven sandwiches ... We have one literally next door to our apartment so I'm always sneaking in there for midnight snacks. Not long ago we went to Nikko for a two day trip and it was gorgeous.... Managed to get some nice drone shots too. https://photos.app.goo.gl/RnaRiq8ELcvp3JvGA Posting images to practice remote image hosting... See forum feedback thread.

  9. The man is a bell-end of the highest order. The only thing I can recommend absolutely is his Twitter, which is a collection of nuclear hot takes and some of the purest, most concentrated cringe ever to splatter across the face of the internet. Some recent highlights include: Have you considered forging COVID-19 certificates? Would you rather have dinner with me, or wear my clothes? Would you rather date a beautiful woman, or be my simp? "I think Andrew Tate's a pretty cool guy. Eh traffics women and doesnt afraid of anything." All of these are just from the last three months, truly amazing. Some more absolute bangers: My unpopularity is symptomatic of societal decline. I would like to take this opportunity to not attempt to refute any of these accusations.

  11. Lets put it another way - would people watch his videos and defend him if he got into rugby purely to try and high tackle people? Or football if his aim was to two-foot lunge everyone in sunday league (albeit this happens anyway)? Would people still want to play in a league that allowed this to carry on?

  14. Growing scarcity of a discontinued product has to be matched by high demand to warrant a higher price. Being "discontinued" was the rationale one fellow previously reported in this thread had used in an attempt to inflate the price of a glorified boneyard item from a failed relationship he seemed very bitter about.

Fair point. Alright: Harajuku is always a good shout. Girls love Harajuku. There's a mameshiba cafe on Takeshita Street as well - 30min for 1000yen. Yasukuni Shrine has great photo opportunities, but the subject matter might be a bit heavy for a date, at least at the beginning. Edit: As she's not fond of military stuff, avoid the Yushukan Museum which also located in the shrine complex. Can't go wrong with Akiba in general. The prizes from UFO catchers/crane games make for great date memories (if you're financially prepared for it). My wife informs me that the anime-related shops in Ikebukuro are aimed more at girls if that is her thing. Hamasushi, the McDonald's of sushi. Avoid dinnertime. I've not been, but I've heard Ueno Zoo is pretty good. If you can afford it and can go further afield: Enoshima Island is the cliched thing to do. Mount Takao is a good climb and easy to get to. Moominvalley Park/metsa Village in Hanno is the kind of super cute place most girls love. Take a Chuo Line limited express to Otsuki, then a Fujikyu train to Kawaguchiko, and then walk to Lake Kawaguchi. The view is amazing - I take my wife there for our anniversaries. Plus you're right by Mount Fuji so if the clouds aren't too low there are amazing pictures to be had. Maybe save this date for later.

yeah it went good. so far, took her to the Tokyo sky tree, then a cat café (she really misses her cat), and took her to a theme park last Saturday. only just realised how good of a photographer she is (made me look much 10 times better than i usually do, and made my jawline look sharp). but I'm running out of ideas on where to take her next 🤣 great shop, like @Dan Robinson said, he bought his auto 9 there, BUT, not the greatest idea considering that her brother is trying his best to avoid conscription in Russia, and she's not fond of most things related to the army/military.

  17. personally, I think he's a massive twat. he has a really punchable face. he sometimes makes it look like that he hit someone, even though the BB is very clearly going towards the next county over. and like everybody has mentioned, unnecessary headshots. yes, this is a sport where you shoot people, but hitting someone in the head on purpose is just being another level of bellend (I usually apologised for headshots, accident or on purpose), but then complaining about it when it happens to him is the one thing that gets to me. my last reason, when he doesn't shoot women. they paid to get shot at, and you have a clear shot, and yet you don't shoot them because they're a girl. sure, its "polite", but again, they paid to get shot at, and it doesn't get you any closer to getting a touch from them. i also find the "tactical voice" he does REALLY annoying. that voice that he does when he explains a mission/objective. just talk with your slightly less annoying, normal voice. this is why he will never feel a touch of a women...

  20. I've never played with him not tht I know of anyway. Personally I think the guy is abit of a bell end as the majority of us are there to have fun. We minimise head shots don't intentionally shoot people in sore places don't go round calling everyone cheaters. The guy intentionally aims for the head or sore places even when a plate carrier or somewhere thts not gonna hurt as much is open. Sits in bushes whistling for people to turn to shoot then in the mostly upper part of the body it is amusing don't get me wrong but aim further down dude. Its all to get a reaction for his YouTube channel for views. He mag dumps people (little child I've seen) yet when it happens to him he goes off his head. On calling people cheater's half his shots miss if you look very carefully and sometimes people don't feel getting shot from distance due to clothing or armour. From the videos I've watched I almost feel like he enjoys hurting people in a sadistic kind of way. Cheaters are actually few and far between from what I've experienced anyway and I've been playing for a good few years don't get me wrong I have come across a few genuine cheater's but most of the time you think you've hit someone it's either not as a bb is extremely small and hard to follow through the air to target and because of wind range bb ballistics clothing or armour. Just try again. He seems like an awesome player tactically and gets round the field well but the fact that he's obviously baiting people to bite and making content for YouTube through headshots dirty painful shots then running up and laughing (personally I always apologize for a nippy shot) to me let's what could be a genuinely awesome player down. Need the "hits" on the tube I suppose.

  25. Both. Single viewpoint videos are dull as fuck. That said, it entirely depends on your budget. GoPro and RunCam are the obvious options but there's plenty of reasonable, cheap Chinese knock offs out there that will give you footage, albeit with the image stabilisation of a 5 year old GoPro.

No good, @c-dawg has tried to buy one of his, the seller, Jubjub, has been majorly messing people about for around 3 years, but due to zins shite feedback system you've really got to dig hard to find the dirt, I myself was about to buy a pcp rifle from him, he had two for sale & the other buyer called him out as a scammer. While I don't necessarily think he's a hardcore scammer, he's definitely a slug when it comes to sending what people pay for, he's all over you when you show some interest, rapid pm's etc, but once he's got your money he loses interest & becomes a sloth🦥. What's worse, he wants bank transfer only, which was the point I backed out, fuck that. Good luck Cal👍

  27. That's the bit that really bothers me. We know there are plenty of nob-goblins out there, and we're relying on sites to identify and deal with them. That Phoenix seems to actually welcome this sordid sociopath - knowing full well that he's revelling in breaching the first rule of airsoft - means that they don't give a stuff about any of their other customers. They're fully complicit, and it's not a site that I'd ever visit on that basis.

  31. Uh, are you in the UK? If so, what muppet sold him that? If you're in the UK, then what he's got there is a Section 5 firearm, not an airsoft gun. Any site that knows what it's doing will tell him to put it back in the bag and play with something else, lock it to semi (which I doubt he can do), or go home. I'd strongly suggest not thinking or talking about fps, because the question then always becomes "using what weight of BB?" You want to be thinking in Joules, using the weight of ammo that you're going to be using. I honestly couldn't tell you what fps any of my guns are shooting at, because I only ever look at the Joules number on my chrono (set to the weight of BB that I'm using), and any half decent site will be doing the same. 0.2g is fine for indoors, but outdoors you want the heaviest BB that your hop unit can lift, and your wallet can stand. For a full auto / burst mode gun, I find 0.28g is a decent compromise of price vs performance. Heavier is just fine, if your hop can lift it. You're fine to use 11.1V in your gun. If the retailer says otherwise then they're looking for an excuse to void the warranty. But if that's what they want to do, they'll do it whatever you use, or say you used. If you experience overspin and double-shooting on semi (you pull the trigger once, the gun shoots twice) then you can use the active-brake or pre-cock settings on your ASTER to fix that. You've bought a perfectly decent gun, and it'll do you proud if you feed and treat it well. As above, clean the barrel (YouTube has plenty of guides), give it 0.25g or heavier, and get the hop dialled in (again, YouTube will help, or ask here). Your ASTER is great, it's worth the time figuring out its features. But none of that matters, as long as you're having fun in game. Plenty of us have a blast using the cheapest CYMAs, shotguns, revolvers and such. Airsoft isn't about having the bestest top-tier laser-beast gun, it's about the experience of taking and making hits with whatever you have to hand. Your gun will be as good as anything else out there, once you figure it out - you haven't wasted your money.

@son of dan Date idea - take your lady friend to 41px, floor B1, TamTam Hobby building in Akiba. It's north of the station. They've got a wicked shooting range there and they'll let you (and her) test fire anything they've got on display (which seems to be every airsoft gun in existence I think). I shot my first GBBR there and was immediately smitten. Then I saw the hairdryer to warm the mags back up...

  42. Played at Worthing Airsoft's annual Halloween night game last night and had a lot of fun. Night vision equipment is banned at Worthing's night games, so you didn't have the milsim brigade turning up with night vision equipment worth more than some people's entire airsoft collections and allowing a level playing field. The forecast for the night was absolutely awful, with a yellow warning for rain and thunderstorms through the evening. It was fine when we got there, but it quickly started to absolutely tip it down. Despite this, we had a good turnout with 36 players; it was almost fully booked with its 40 spaces! We arrived earlier than everyone else, getting there at about 4pm so that me and my friend could set up our rifles and then have a wander into the gameplay area to still try and work out how to attack the Tower base from the crappy respawn side that I still haven't seen anyone win from during the day (there's a bit of a spoiler for you for the games to come ) I originally wanted to bring the SR-25, however with a relatively exposed mosfet I didn't want to risk it with the torrential downpours that were forecast, so I opted to go with my KJW m40a5, set to 1.05J on a .32, and my STTI mk23 as a sidearm. Maximum sneak for playing around in the dark! However, this was where I had my first issue. While my m40a5 was doing decently on a .32 (overhopping a little bit, but nothing too egregious), my mk23 was clipping the end of the suppressor meaning I had to run it without it. What was a nice quiet sidearm became a very snappy, noisy pistol! Oh, I also put a red dot sight on my m40a5, so it looked like some sort of Call of Duty abomination gun build, but no way was I using a magnified optic without an illuminated crosshair for this game. I did toy with the idea of bringing out my illuminated scope, however I don't like 40mm scopes at the best of times, so I decided against it; I really need to buy those budget-but-pricey Visionking and Vector Optics scopes that I have my eye on... Anyway, as it got dark we headed back to the safe zone. We decided to pack all of our kit away preemptively as the weather was still relatively clear, but we knew what was going to come later. We both made sure that our kit was packed in such a way where what we were using for the games was also very easy to pack away; for me it was the rifle and belt kit both going into the rifle bag and my pistol going in its case. We then hung about and chatted with everyone else and... the rain started, and oh boy did it start. It was absolutely pouring, but there was some cover that we could stand beneath. I was suddenly glad I brought my waterproof! However, we were blessed by mother nature, as by 7pm when we were heading out to play, the rain had eased off massively. It was still raining a little, but it was absolutely fine! First game had 4 small disk-shaped light markers around the Tower base area (they're small, not the type to really illuminate anything). One was in Tower itself, one in the church, one in the stables and I believe one was a cross, a small criss-cross barricade structure just outside of the Tower base. We started from the bad side in the first game and had to turn the lights off, while the other team had to keep them on. I decided to take advantage of the fact that nobody would want to use the lower part of the site and headed down into Clearing so that I could come up on the corner and get some shots in the flank. Worthing Airsoft has some thick tree canopy, so it was very dark and I was just shooting at silhouettes and torch lights. However, what I learned is that my friend and another of the regulars had done the same as me but over the other side of the site and were taking everyone out from behind. The streak had been broken as we absolutely dominated this game from the bad side, however I wasn't too surprised as night games, especially with how dark it gets at Worthing Airsoft, are a very different beast and a lot of what makes the other side strong was negated by the lack of sight lines due to the dark. We swapped ends afterwards, with our team now spawning on the good side and needing to keep the lights turned on. I decided to stand away from the rest of my team as people were shining torches all over the place so I put some distance between myself and them and kept my eyes closed. I was trying to operate on natural night vision, and having torches shone in your face every few seconds wasn't a great way to maintain natural night vision. I waited until game was called on and people started heading off before I headed towards the fence line on the edge of the site. I knew I could get into a good position to once again get some shots into the flank of the enemy team as they came in to try and turn the lights off, but I had to be careful not to silhouette myself against the open field on the other side of the fence. This led to me crawling along the ground, stopping every time a light came anywhere near me. There were multiple times I had a torch shone directly at me, but keeping still I managed to go undetected and get into position. We managed to hold them back well and managed to win this game too, as they only managed to turn off the lights in the stables at the end of the game. Next game had a marshall in the top of Tower handing out objectives that we had to take back to our respawn. I decided to take the same route as I did the game before, heading for the fence line and crawling along the ground to set up a good ambush position with my m40a5. However, this game was pretty uneventful for me as our team managed to pin the enemy team back so nobody even crossed my ambush position, which was well in-front of the objective, so the enemy team never got close! We stopped for some food at 9pm and the heavens opened up again, so we all stood beneath the cover. Some people called it there, not wishing to play in the cold and the wet, but it wasn't a huge number. I think we lost about 10 players, bringing us down to 26 for the last two games which were the sands of pain. It was exactly the same game as last game day, with the box in the same place and everything. I had a bit of an annoying encounter and was the only time I got hit all evening, though I'm not counting it as a hit and will stick with the "I didn't get hit at all" line. I saw a guy moving up, lined up my red dot with his silhouette, pulled the trigger and got that satisfying thwack as my .32 made contact with plate carrier. However, he then just turned his light on, lit me up and shot me in the head then continued on. I wasn't about to argue it, but that was really annoying as I had spent time getting into position undetected only to have someone blatantly cheat in front of me and lace me up. There's a lot less certainty on whether you're hitting people during a night game as you can't hear your BBs, but when the shot is about 10m and you hear a very noticeable thwack of the BB impacting with fabric... yeah, I was annoyed. Anyway, I headed back to respawn and went down low again, heading for the bottom of the site and popping up near the enemy respawn. Not wanting to be a dirty spawn camper, I crawled up a bit as if I was on their team, getting to the checkpoint on the path where I set up my ambush position, waiting for players to pass me before shooting them in the back. It worked flawlessly and people had no idea where they were getting shot from, since the m40a5 is such a quiet gun. We swapped sides again for the final game and I, once again, used the bottom of the site to pop up near-ish their spawn again. However, once again, I didn't want to be a dirty spawn camper, so I moved up and got into a position to ambush people from behind a decent ways away from the enemy spawn. While my ambush position wasn't that far from where I'd set up an ambush if I was coming at it from our spawn's side, the important thing was the positioning, as the enemy team never had any clue where I was shooting them from and were very confused as to why they were getting shot in the back! Anyway, all in all it was a very fun day evening. Didn't get the most kills, as I was running a bolt action at night, but I had a great time seeing just how much sneaky antics I could get away with (a lot!). Got home last night, unpacked absolutely everything, partially disassembled my m40a5 and put the gun wrap, my waterproof jacket and belt kit out to dry so that it wouldn't stew in its muddy sogginess in my bags. Now today I will do a full clean on both the m40a5 and mk23 as they probably need it after all that.
