Because there are some very naive sheep in airsoft, probably in most aspects of life they're level headed & sensible, but throw Airsoft in to the mix, especially online reviews that start with the words "this am bestest", & they go all googly eyed & incomprehensible 🥴3 points -

Since 2020 shipping has increased in cost , materials have increased in cost , some factories have not yet fully returned to airsoft after switching to making medical and safety gear , fuel cost increases world wide . All of these are world wide but especially in some parts of Asia. Brexit may not help locally with the economy but it has nothing to do with the shortage of product being produced and shipped from Asia . Hong Kong shipping and warehousing companies have increased their charges exponentially the last few years which means retailers and factories are increasingly going back to sea shipping which is still very backed up from the pandemic rush and has also increased costs due to the global increase in fuel cost. If you think we have it bad the European shops have it even worse as the buying power in Euros is even lower currently according to my colleagues in the Europe offices. Add to this that there just hasn't been the new releases this year that we see some years but that fluctuates year on year3 points -

Hi, I’ve recently got myself my first pistol, an AAP-01. Now I am looking for a holster for that pistol. I will probably attach it to a belt (I could attach one via molle to the side of the plate carrier but that feels too high up). Anyway I regress. What holsters would you recommend that secure the pew pew while being able to draw it quickly. I can see 3d printed ones on eBay. Has anyone tried it? What other options are there (without spending too much). Thanks for your help1 point

MRE's in their various forms are usually VERY expensive, unless you start looking at your lesser known eastern European menu variants, but you'd better have a strong stomach lol. For an average skirmish day, a half decent packed lunch should more than cover your need, MREs are better suited to a hard routine 72hr milsim, massive concentrated calorie intake, little waste product💩, & compact packaging.1 point -

MOLLE 2 Tactical Assault Panel AKA the TAP or chest rig This is a 3 rows by 18 columns of pals flat panel with internal 5.56 magazine slots secured with Velcro tabs. There is an additional short row of of pals above the center magazine slots. There are three rear pockets, two Velcro closing & one zippered. There are attachment points for a selection of hardware & straps that allow for several methods of wear. Available in UCP & OCP patterns. The TAP was designed to allow the quick release function on issued ballistic vests to work if the TAP was worn correctly fitted to the vest. The FLC stops the quick ditch feature from working if worn over the top as it predates most issued armor designed with that function. Like wise the RACK, Ranger Assault Carry Kit and Marines Recon Assault Carry Kit, were not designed with an integrated quick ditch mechanism in mind and the TAP updates this. Hardware was included with the TAP to work as a stand alone chest rig as well. FSBE AAV/CIRAS/RAV were under the SPEAR BALCS system (ie. not general issue MOLLE) and pouch attachment was designed to not block separation of the panels.1 point -

(I believe) that the overseas registered VAT is to be accounted for & paid to HMRC on a quarterly basis, so would be held for a period Package declarations should cover all of that, and presumably with the companies HMRC reference - with past experience I wouldn’t be surprised if someone from overseas sent packages with declarations but didn’t have any arrangement When parcels pass through its then a question of whether there is any tracking of what is declared on the package vs quarterly accounts On the matter of what is actually charged and what is subsequently declared, that again depends on ‘proper’ accounting. Unless it’s a VAT invoice the specifics aren’t there. Legally that’s irrelevant as VAT applies or doesn’t, but if for example a European seller lists inclusive of local VAT but sold as export then they could still charge €120 but keep the €120 from an overseas sale, but with a local sale kept €100 and paid their tax man €20 If declared as UK vat paid then they would be paying the €20 In £ to HMRC …………. Ive just had a recent European import of some custom work - I dealt with the European office, but my invoice came from a different UK company (the guy is their ‘UK rep’) so I paid UK VAT The European company sent it to him, and he forwarded it to me I never saw the package which went through customs, so either multiple items came and split out or he took it out of one package and then sent on to me UK customs therefore will have seen a business to business package and HMRC got their cut on the UK to UK sale1 point

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Impulse reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Low turn out today at Spec Ops - less than 40 with a fair few rentals. The blue team ended up with a lot of newbies (to the site) and skins ended up with more regulars. The first timers were evenly split, but the end result was a little embarrassing for the blues. They moved a few of us regulars over at lunch which made a big difference to the outcomes and made the day more fun. Overall the smaller numbers were a benefit because it allowed the more experienced player help the first timers. Weather and conditions were also perfect with zero wind, gorgeous sunshine and a nice 12 degrees. Muggins here was responsible for a fair few friendly on friendly kills - but i put that down to having teammates appearing from places I had recently spotted enemies advancing from. I only took 4 pews - Glock 17, DE Honey Badger, ICS L85 and SVU. The latter of which chrono'd too low, and was pewing in a weird arc. L85, when powered by an 11.1 was pretty much an LMG. But didn't like firing on semi. Stick a 7.4 in there and it was fine, if not a little lethargic. Either way the fecker was laser accurate up to 45 metres and with .28s was cutting through the foliage nicely halting the advances of those thinking they were hidden. During a stint for the blues after lunch, I was holding one of the barrels that formed the bridge. Skins made a big push just as I suffered a dead battery. With no time to run to the spawn where my spare was, I switched to semi and pulled out my Glock. Problem being I knew I hadn't had a chance to gas them up at lunch; so it was a case of very carefully selected shots from the AEG and my three glock mags to cover the skins' advanced long enough for backup to come to my calls. End result was a victory for us thanks to the backup from teammates. Which meant too that I had great pleasure in getting the site's resident "runner" three times as he tried to push the objectives - there are a couple of regular teenagers renowned for rushing objectives so quickly that a defending team not prepared has no chance. - hence the marshalls moving me from team to team. LMG mode: Mando (regular mad sprinter) and I getting ready to extract the pilot:1 point -

Talk about a head turner! This is in near box fresh condition, as it's not even been a wall-hanger but kept in a foam case in a cupboard. Unlike the TM version, this is full-metal and has a full travel slide too. In my testing it's also been more powerful, right up at the limit around 350fps on a 0.20g. As always FPS/joules on GBB's depends on temperature and gas etc. Also to note, this is not the weird CO2 full-auto version, but takes WE made green gas mags. Needless to say this is perhaps the heaviest pistol around, but definitely skirmishable in the right conditions. Only letting it go as I'm reducing my collection. Stated price includes PayPal fees and a tracked courier. Please PM any questions, as I don't get notifications of anything added to the listing.£205

Thrice Amen. I don't know of any specifics, they just didn't really survive the late 2010s for some reason. When I started around 06 they were ramping up (initially more kits for plastic TMs I think?) and they were the go-to metal ARs for years in the late 00s and early 10s, tons of variants all with darn authentic trades plus accessories from UGLs down to the small parts. They probably peaked in the Magpul era, pumping out tons of AEG and WA system GBB ARs based on US civilian builds of the time, often with PTS plastic attached. Then PTS lost the Magpul license and at some point Cybergun or whoever has the Colt trades license agreement clearly put their big old foot down; around then G&P just stopped making anything vaguely based on any real firearm of any type. Granted that was the trend at the time (around the initial popularity of Keymod) and G&G/ICS/VFC were all doing the same, but G&P failed to move with the times and just faded away apparently. They released a batch of Mk18s in brown a few years back that got terrible reviews and very briefly had a 'recoil system' which had the same reception. E&C have completely taken over what was the G&P domain in my estimation (military AR AEG focus). An awful lot of the same guns and parts as G&P used to do, I don't think it's the same operation though. Edit - Looked up their IG: https://www.instagram.com/gnpairsoft/?hl=en Barely a post for years now. Forgot how hard they leant in to the Salient craze.. that won't have helped the business. Maybe they only do silent OEM stuff now? It can be comparatively easy work for an established factory. Not sure.1 point

You're supposed to pay import fees and VAT on everything you import that hasn't had tax paid at source. That said, it very much depends on what the vendor puts on the CN22 form (ie the value they declare it at).1 point

Here is my awesome Cyma MP5 Blue edition heavily upgraded by DCA with Titan MOSFET. It comes with all the stick mags in the picture and one Lipo. It’s a beast! including MLok rail and red dot, also you can see the front and rear sights have been removed the way SO19 did years ago to ensure better sight picture and cheek weld when firing. Folding UMP stock comes with it but I also have a J Stock to include with the package. Overall, I’ve used this a couple of times on the field and it is a laser. The internal upgrades from DCA make it such a beast on the field. I just don’t get the use it deserves. I payed 1k for it from DCA but I’m not expecting that back for it now. My asking price is 800 but open to offers as I’ve removed the Midwest rail and put that on my GBB MP5.£700

I've just bought my first GBB pistol in a very long time - a TM P226 Rail. What is best practice for maintenance regarding the magazines and the pistol itself? I know not to leave the mags gassed when not in use - got a 1911 mag somewhere that has swelled and no longer fits (from over a decade ago!)0 points
