  1. Same here. This explains what those guys at my old site where doing. They never joined us in games and had guns that looked like they were made from the spare parts bin at B&Q. Now do us all a favour and fuck off and take your spam with you

  2. sorry but the law is if you have played 9 years of paintball it gets deducted from your airsoft lives so you have only played for 7 years in airsoft

    airsoft vs paintball

Hello, welcome, and thank you for kindly allowing me to decide whether I prefer airsoft or paintball, it's very gracious of you. I'm almost certain that you won't start spamming links to a "blog" that's a thinly veiled affiliate ad-serving site. Sure of it.

  4. Ahhhhhh....that explains my confusion! Still, that's six and a half more years than your average airsoft safezone 'expert'.

  6. From personal use, I'd go Source over Camelbak, I've popped a camelbak and not a source one yet. I personally don't pew with a Bladder on. I just leave a bag full of my admin at re-gen. My gripe with bladders is I feel they promote over hydration, and running the risk of flushing the body of salts etc. It can be a fine balance but half a litre per hour of 'arduous' activity is sufficient. With bottles you get the benefit of filling one with an electrolyte for later in the day games to keep you going. Sorry for the lecture, just my 2 cents.

  9. Miguel from CAMO usually, but not always, runs the days at Tower for Airsoft Plantation with the marshals usually being from Airsoft Plantation. Regarding the PDW, the one that I was working on was ancient. I believe that the Double Bell plastic version is somewhat better; the metal one is very decent.

  10. So I bought a thing at AI500... It's a very fun handful of brrrrrrrrrrrt and as soon as I bought it, another guy from our team (who also likes GBB SMGs) went in immediately and bought the other one they had. Bought two spare mags and will look for a shoulder holster for it.

  11. So, today I was again at Tower Airsoft in Essex. In addition to my CYMA based MPiKM and my unknown make AMD 65, I had the lad's G&G C7 with me as he had not used it since September 2022 and was keen that it got a run. I also had my partially completed ancient DBoys PDW build, so that I could check its power output with the hop properly set; Tower has a long straight path with trees at the end leading away from the range, which is ideal for setting up hops. In addition, I took my old CYMA electric pistol because I still want to believe that they are viable airsoft weapons. Arriving nice and early, I went out to set up the PDW; it shot perfectly at what the site chrono said was a decent power level. Unfortunately, the quality of plastic from which it is constructed is so poor that the mag catch managed to smash the very thin piece of plastic that prevents it collapsing into the magwell once the magazine is removed. I also tried the electric pistol and finally had to accept that my desire to believe something does not necessarily make it true. There were about 105-110 players present, which is a lot for what is quite a small site; there also seemed to be more miniguns than I have ever seen on a single game day, along with a fair number of rentals and two of the smallest players that I have seen in a very long time. The day was good, with the usual well though out games, including one in which the attackers had to secure a smoke grenade that was in an ammunition box in the village and transport it to the bridge, where they had to set it off. We were defending first and the attacking team eventually broke into the village and secured the smoke grenade, which they immediately set off; listening to, and remembering, the game brief is important! When the game was turned around, we did not make the same mistake. Both legs of the game were great fun with elements of both sides outflanking each other and turning up behind the opposing team, leading to a degree of paranoia which resulted in a lot of "friendly fire" kills. Great fun! On returning home, I concluded that the PDW was no longer viable; after stripping out the gearbox and everything else that was worth saving, I was left with the nasty cheap plastic externals. Therefore, the best thing to do was to set fire to it, so it went into the fire flowerpot where it burned and melted nicely; having acquired a taste for burning and melting airsoft items, I then did the same with the electric pistol. Great fun!

  14. No - me neither. 16 years Airsoft and 9 years tournament paintball left me very confused and unable to work out the difference between the two. Thanks OP - I feel so much better now... (If you know, you know.)

  15. A beautiful sunny Saturday at Special Ops I had egged on one of my friends who was the guy I'd first gone airsofting with to come along, he turned up with his new TM MP7 GBBR, and as it has been a long time since I had seen him I brought along a bunch of my recent gnus to show him. I needed a bloody Chinook to transport it all... Double Eagle M906C (natch) VFC HK416 GBBR Tippmann M4 HPA TM AUG HC CA Scarab TM DOR 5.1 pistol With the forecast fog missing in action, the sun was out so ditched the jacket for just a camo shirt. Today was going to sting a bit more than usual 😬 but it'd also turn out to be warm enough for the gas guns to perform well I gave my friend a demo of a few of the guns and encouragingly found they were all running well, even the Tippmann (though it was slightly too hot on the chrono to skirmish, and I didn't get around to adjusting it) and the VFC, which I'd never managed to dial in for longer range until now A lack of marshals for the ~60 players meant I became a player-marshal for the day, mostly meant keeping an eye on the kids to make sure they kept safe. Nice to know I could shout at people with no come backs, but I didn't need to... much 😋 The usual selection of games, but the site's layout has been changed quite a bit with lot more cover around the entrance to Ping Ping City, really freshened it up. A new escort the VIP game was introduced where the escort just happened to be carrying his electric minigun to defend himself! Good stuff, as I'd been up against that in the previous games but he ended up on my side for that one 😅 A great day made extra special for me as I decided to use my HK416 gas rifle for most of it, I've detailed more about that in the owners thread ... suffice to say it was truly a game changer, I expect to be doing a lot more GBBR play in the future. My friend's MP7 was also great, very impressive... When the CQB site opens up I'll have to find a way to buy one Sounds like I'll be going along to Red Alert next month (14th?), maybe I'll see some of you guys there?

  17. Skirmished my 416 today properly for the first time, oh myyyyyyy I don't care how skint I'll get I'm not selling 😍 I did some test firing with the gun yesterday just to check it would pass chrono, and it was bang on 350fps with 0.20s, no hop. And in spite of what I've said elsewhere it was actually very consistent. Maybe it had some silicon in the system before when I used Abbey Predator, but switching to Ultrair has cleaned it out? My order of Geoff's 0.40s don't turn up in time (thanks Royal Mail '1st class', delivering after 3 days or more used to be 2nd class, didn't it?) So I had to run it with 0.28s instead, and of course I've still got just the 2 mags and a speed loader. Well that worked out alright (in fact it adds some extra jeopardy and excitement to the proceedings!). The joy of landing a well placed single or double tap along with the recoil and loud banging and clacking of the bolt and general malarkey was just so tangible and rewarding I think the ambient temperature was up around 14 or 15 degrees C which of course helped immensely... the gun never missed a beat. I was topping up the mags like a mofo when in cover, but I stuck to semi only, and regassed between games, and it just kept on trucking. Accuracy seemed good, though not perfect... I'm not going to be hitting half a head peeking a corner at 40m, but it's good enough to make them duck out the way 😋 That might improve once I've got the heavier ammo in there. I did go back to The Stalwart (the Double Eagle m906) for a couple of the games, but while that's better at reaping 'kills' it was just not as fun. And I used a gazillion times more ammo in that relatively short time. Through the day I let some fellow players have a go. They all loved it. I love it. GBBRs for the win!

  22. Ran our first game at the Trenches we've been building for the last year the other weekend! The theme was Gallipoli - our fictionalised battle of 'Hellespont', so I was running shorts and Pith Helmet with my WW1 kit... (Yes I regretted the shorts) One of the best moment was being held hostage by an enemy officer... I'd been ordered to guard him, as we had taken him prisoner in a raid. However, during an attack I was too busy killing two of the attackers to see him draw his pistol, no one had disarmed him! He almost made it out of our trenches before anyone noticed, but someone managed to shoot him in the shoulder past me, giving me the chance to grab his pistol! I then proceded to kill a further two attackers with it! (Photo credits to Crafty Sniper Photography) (The full kit, had the tunic on in morning as it was quite chilly)

Damn, this TM MP5K sure is nice out of the box. Not gonna touch the internals at all. But I want to do something to it.... I KNOW! Added bonus, I can now access the hop adjuster without disassembling the front end.

Finally got my first proper gun ( other than glock converted with roni kit ^^ ) HK33 by LCT EBB Steel throughout, heavy, chunky, you literally do not need any ammo to kill with it xD, however right out of the box was rather disappointing so I got some parts and sat down on it this weekend. Changed parts: Hopup chamber maxx models Piston head double oring maxx models Cylinder head double oring maxx models Nozzle double oring maxx models 6.02 590mm barrel maple leaf Rubber Super macaroon 60* maple leaf M120 non-linear spring prometheus I am running it with gate aster v2 SE and 11.1 LiPo 3 cell. It works way better than before, all fits well but I am still not happy with fps, as I am using it as DMR I want as close to 450 with .02 as possible. Currently 350 with .28 :(((( I am waiting for stainless steel cylinder from maxx and warhead brushless motor and will experiment with PDI spring 260%. Any ideas how to increase range and accuracy are very, very welcomed

Something old, something new. Just picked up the ZP-19 from these forums and only had to add the suppressor as it came with everything else. The other AK is a Kreb's Custom AK made by Classic Army quite a few years ago. It's full Kreb trade marked and full steel.
