I agree. The old values that were drummed into us when we were kids are dying out. It's a bit like blacksmiths and thatchers....not many people use them any more.☹️2 points

Unfortunately, courtesy & manners seem to be dying out, ironically I think technology has has played a part in that, & it probably doesn't help when it's the school holidays too lol.2 points -

Heh, I've just had two coppers move in to the downstairs flat (we have to go down stairs over their back garden to get to ours) and one of them clocked my boy with his mp5 and went "ooh an mp5. Like it!" I think they're cool with it as the front door is still on its hinges and in not full of holes...2 points -
I used to keep the metal lids on jam jars, piece of masking tape with a number on each & hang them on the washing line with clothes pegs. Someone calls various numbers while the shooter then engages said numbered lid as quickly as possible, with the added bonus of an audible "ping" & a visible swing when hit, my lad used to love it & it definitely improved his abilities.2 points

I have had several people recently ask questions about my adverts, for example will you do it for this etc , have you got this as well etc, I don’t mind having offers, answering questions, sending pictures, but what really annoys me is when they don’t even read my answer. Why start up a message between us with questions when you don’t intend to even read my response. Can’t see any point, and it just looks rude.1 point

People asking questions on sales and not even reading the reply

No. This would block any new players wanting to get into the game from joining leaving them to go elsewhere and get dog shit advice from people who don't know what they're on about. Also there are quite a few long time players on here who don't have a site membership for one reason or another. Yes, this does leave us open to the usual dickheads and time wasters, but then who will we have to take the piss out of?1 point -

The flip side is sending questions and pm's that don't get answered by the seller. I've got one pm that still hasn't been read after more than a week, on an item that hasn't been marked as sold, even after prompting with a question. Sellers, check your pm's at least daily please1 point -

I only use stronger recoil spring when I put a metal slide on my pistol. Otherwise I can't see what kind of improvement is gonna happen. You need something like this: https://www.waldocustoms.com/products/airsoft-buff-hi-cappa-short-stroke-kit. And you have to find that golden middle when it's still snappy but it locks back on an empty mag.1 point

I've done a lot of work on all of my pistols and I've used my 1911 as a bit of a teching experiment, trying out everything I could think of to make it perform as well as possible. It's probably not worth it, unless you plan on using your pistol a lot, as it costs a lot for a very small performance increase. The worthwhile parts are a hop rubber, barrel and h-plate. I prefer ML Autobot rubbers, crazy jet barrels and... well... the H-plate, though I put the ML hop unit and I-key in mine purely because I happened to have one (though the stock unit with the H-plate is just as good in the TM) As for extra parts, I have the CowCow lightweight blowback unit and the CowCow high flow nozzle in mine, plus the Nineball gas routers in all of my magazines. These all help with the efficiency, but the difference isn't massive. As @Cr0-Magnonsaid, TM know how to make a pistol and unless you really know what you're doing, you'll just end up making it worse. I would personally never put a higher recoil spring or a stronger knocker valve (well, one that puts out more gas per shot) in a 1911. Why? 1911s have tiny tiny magazines, so there is only so much gas they can hold. Higher recoil springs need more gas to cycle properly, but the 1911 doesn't have the gas reservoir to make use of it.1 point

If you want to build a snappy pistol you have to short stroke it first and foremost. Generally speaking when you venture into a metal slide and stronger recoil spring you either do it for longevity or because you really want to spend money on it. As long you didn't crack your plastic slide on green gas I'd leave as it is. TM Hi-Capa's can be a real financial disaster upgrade wise because you can change everything on it until the last screw...literally.1 point

TM m1911a1 upgrades
Gunner91 reacted to Cr0-Magnon for a topic
You really can't improve the performance, other than perhaps different hop rubber and inner barrel. A stronger spring will reduce gas efficiency and a metal slide will do the same plus make the slide cycle slower. TM know how to make a pistol, if you start messing with the balance of that, you'll end up regretting it.1 point -

Good eye pro and footwear is infinitely more important than buying the most expensive gun you can find. Dont go to YouTube if you want an honest gun review. If you want to know what gun to buy, go to a good retailer and get hands on with them. Everyone can tell you what they think, but if you don’t like it it doesn’t matter how well it performs.1 point

Bit late to the party, but to defend 8 fields - I got some soft pistol mag taco's from them. Under £4 each. They grip my FNX mags tighter than anything. And have a full molle backing unlike the viper ones which are sewn shut on the middle part so you can't loop them properly.1 point

A few short days ago I received a friend request on FB from a young attractive lass about 29 years old... I was curious. I wanted to know why someone that young wanted to be my fb friend. So I accepted it. Then she started sending me private messages. She was very kind. She called me handsome. She asked my age. I'm not a liar so I told her and reminded her I'm quite a bit her senior. And I let her talk a bit cause (truth be told) flattery ain't all that bad. We keep talking for a while and within a short time, she asked if we could talk about 'adult things'. I said ok. Then she replied with a face like 😉. She said 'thank you babe, you start." So I did! I told her adult things like my knees and hips were hurting. My back acts up when it is cold outside. I explained that I have crazy insomnia, I toss and turn the entire night and that I often have leg cramps, especially when I try to sleep. I mentioned the scars from multiple surgeries and the limp I have from an old injury. And of course I had to throw in the need for daily fiber supplements to prevent passing gas. Can't forget that one! I was waiting for her to answer me...She blocked me. She wanted to talk about adult things and then couldn't take the heat! I think I'm just a bit too much man for her to handle! 🫤1 point -

Use what works where and how you play. My battle belt/webbing rig is a horrible mixed camo mutoid thing that works very well thanks. It cost less than £20 and serves well for skirmishes and post apocalyptic games. The solid no frills CYMAs and G&Gs do the same. Keep it functional and simple is the essential thing.1 point -
